Russetpaw felt a surge of nausea run up his throat. The sick apprentice threw up all over his nest with his fur sticky and hot. With teary eyes, he weakly sat up, βS-sorry Daisy...β He was too weak to even say her name.
(Should Grackle and Daisybug meet about him giving her the cure?)

((yep yep!! ill send her on her way after this))
Daisybug was sitting outside the medicine den, waiting for the moon to start rising. When she heard Russetpaw start to retch, she hurried to his side and ran her tail across his back. He held back a sigh, knowing this was another sign of the sickness. Perhaps he would feel better in the morning. "It's alright, Russetpaw, it's not your fault..." she soothed, holding her nose as she carefully rolled the dirty moss away from him. She turned her attention as Palepaw entered the den, her eyes wide with shock. "Oh, you're back," she said, almost in relief. "Can you make a new nest for him while I take this out of camp? There's moss over there." Without waiting for an answer she exited out the other side of the medicine den, the moss dragging beside her.

Thrushwing turned a disgusted eye as she heard Russetpaw vomit all over himself. She had been laying in her own nest with her eyes directed to the makeshift wall, but she now rose to her paws with a revolted expression. When Palepaw entered the den, Thrushwing hurried over to hear what Daisybug would have the apprentice do. βIβll help.β Thrushwing offered to the apprentice. It had been three days since Beechpetalβs passing, and Thrushwingβs voice cracked from its first use since the pretty warriorβs death.
((Tbh I normally donβt ship same sex warriors charas bc theyβre cats but like I would have shipped Beechpetal and Thrushwing lol))

((that's how i feel about palepaw and firepaw lmao i always figured they had thoughts and emotions closer to humans than cats anyway))
Palepaw stood blinking at the sight longer than she intended, then nodded slowly. "A-Alright..." She made her way to the storage of moss and started pulling out pawfuls for Thrushwing to take, until she felt like it was enough. Russetpaw hadn't been that sick that morning... what happened? She padded back to where Russetpaw sat and began squishing pieces of moss together, unsure what to say about this. Her heart felt like it was squeezing in on itself.

Hazelshine narrowed her eyes and continued looking at her leg, avoiding eye contact. βPerhaps Iβll just move in with Loudstep,β she half-joked, then rested her head on the ground. βI still have Firepaw to train, but I donβt want her to fall behind, and I donβt want to give her to someone else. Iβm thinking another warrior can help me out until my leg doesnβt hurt so bad.β Her tail lashed across the ground angrily, but it wasnβt directed at Fallenrain.

Grackle was out near a river where he was drying up herbs. He sat on a flat stone as he was warmed by the sun. Heβd been there for most of the afternoon as he wanted his herbs to be perfectly dried up.
Russetpaw didnβt say anything, he weakly rolled off his disgusting nest and curled up on the dirt floor with vomit bits on his fur.

Palepaw finished squishing the moss into a nest big enough for Russetpaw to sit in, then moved aside so he could lay back down. By now, Daisybug had returned with a fresh ball of moss in her mouth, soaked with water. She put it in front of Russetpaw, then sniffed his nose . "I'm going to give you watermint this time," she said, speaking to both herself and the others in the den. She turned to her herbs and placed that and feverfew in front of him. "Try drinking the water before eating this."

Russetpaw nodded and did as Daisybug told him. He drank a bit of water from a soaked moss and then took the herbs prescribed to him. He then rolled onto his new nest made by his sister. He muttered a weak meow in thanks before he shut his eyes.
Blackscale walked into camp with a squirrel in his bloody jaws. Itβd taken him forever to catch something but he managed to snatch a squirrel while gaining a few cuts.

Cinderlight sat in the center of the clearing with the other mourning cats. She hadn't known Dreamwave until she came to GroveClan, but she now understood what a loss this was to the whole Clan. Her head was low as she stared at the ground, until the scent of Blackscale grew stronger, and she looked up and turned to him. She purred quietly as she noticed the squirrel in his jaws. "Good job," she whispered as she hurried to greet him.

Palepaw was about to settle next to him until Daisybug brushed her tail against the apprentice. "If he has something spreadable, I don't want you catching it," she said, her eyes soft with empathy. The torbie opened her mouth to protest, then sighed and looked down at Russetpaw. "I love you. I hope you feel better tomorrow," she said, then quickly left the den. She was surprised she could get much out, as her throat felt tight. Daisybug faced Thrushwing. "I'm going out now. I"ll be back before dawn," she promised. "But don't hesitate to find me if something happens." With that, she ducked her head out of the bush and snuck around the circle of mourning cats, headed for the cavern not too far away.

Blackscale gave a low purr and pressed against Cinderlight. βI knew fish wasnβt your favorite.β Heβd yet to learn of the cranky warriorβs death, though he felt the mourning presence surrounding the clan. He smelled around, βWhat happened?β He muttered as he put the squirrel down. He worried it was about Russetpaw but he knew Cinderlight wouldnβt be acting like this is heβd grew sicker or worse...

Cinderlight glanced back to the group of mourning cats. "Hawkjaw told us that Dreamwave died saving a kit from the flood," she said as she turned back to him. "We're holding vigil tonight." She let the silence settle between them, as if it was asking the question for him. "His fever's only gotten worse. I left for the vigil before anything got worse. I hope he'll feel better in the morning."

βShe died a warriorβs death. She did get angry whenever cats told her to retire.β Blackscale wasnβt sure if he really felt any sadness for her death. Blackscale and Dreamwave never saw eye to eye as they both were equally stubborn and cold. But it didnβt change the fact that she didnβt deserve to die like that. Blackscaleβs ears dropped as Cinderlight told him Russetpawβs current condition. He wasnβt the most optimistic cat, he didnβt want to say heβll get better and give Cinderlight false hope. The tom felt pathetic in his lack of basic care and emotion. βHas Palepaw shown any signs of the sickness?β He muttered

Cinderlight shook her head. "Not yet, anyway. She's been out most of the day," she said, then flattened her ears. The thought of catching the sickness just now crossed her mind, but she didn't care right now. She only cared about her child being healthy again. "Let's just pray it's not what all the others had." She looked up at the moon, which was now closer to the middle of the sky. "I think Daisybug's already left for the Moonpool."
((i think she'll have some weird cryptic dream where they're like "yeah you're really close, don't stray from the moonpool just yet" and she wakes up only like 10 minutes later and is like "great thanks" and leaves and sees grackle and gets what they meant lol i'll probably do it here, who wants to give her a cryptic message lol))

(I killed Rainsong off if you want to use her. She was trapped in the warrior den during the flood and everyone just assumes sheβs missing)
Blackscale only gave a small nod as he could hear the worry in his mateβs voice. He felt no words of comfort would help ease Cinderlight at the moment so he sat close beside her and curled his crooked tail around her and pushed her close to him. βThatβs good then. She can ask Starclan for help.β He muttered though he wasnβt sure if Starclan was going to be helpful as he felt they hadnβt done a thing to help the clan in moons.

((poor rainsong lmao))
Cinderlight sighed and leaned into him. "StarClan doesn't plan on letting all these cats die from this, do they?" she asked softly. With the rogues, flooding, and now the sickness coming back, there wasn't much good happening in the Clans. Had the medicine cat's affair really angered them so bad? Hopefully some good news would come soon.

Daisybug soon made it to the Moonpool, when the moon was nearly at its peak. The last few times Daisybug had spoken to StarClan since her ceremony, not much had happened. They didn't warn her about the rogues attacking or the re-spread of the mysterious sickness. She had only known about the flooding - something no one could prevent. She padded through the cavern until she reached the small pool of water, and looked up through the hole in the roof. Almost there... please tell me something useful. When the moon uneventfully hit its peak, Daisybug bent her head and licked the water, quickly falling asleep.
The small she-cat woke up somewhere she'd never seen before. It didn't sparkle like StarClan normally did; the grass was green, the sky clear, and the sun ridiculously bright. She squinted her eyes and turned around, immediately noticing the towering mountains behind her. This must be the other side of the cavern!

Blackscale didnβt have much faith in Starclan as theyβd done nothing to save his former clan. He recalled the medicine cats seeking aid but getting nothing in return. Blackscale remained silent as he rested his head on Cinderlightβs shoulder, βEven if those ghosts have nothing to say, Iβm here. Iβll lose all my other senses for you.β (Blackscale as a blind, deaf cat with no sense of smell: Fight me rogues)
A silver tabby with a coat of stars appeared before Daisybug. Her eyes once a deep blue, now soft and grey. βDaisybug....β Her coat was faintly damp as if part of her soul was still lingering in the living world.

Gremlin let out a quiet purr as the scent of mouse washed around him. He quickly spotted one nibbling on some dry grass, and he dropped to his haunches. When the mouse looked at him and squeaked, he pelted after it. He bounded clumsily after it before sliding and slamming his paws down on it. For once it wasn't scrawny! ((how graceful)) Jumpytail chuckled at the cat. What a graceful hunter he was! Ha! "Your problem isn't lack of prey, Gremlin, it's that you don't know how to hunt properly. You have to be stealthy, not bumbling around so loud even a sleeping elder could hear you!" She calmed her laughter and her voice was soft by the time she lightly criticized the rogue, though it was clear she meant well.

Unlike Speckledleaf, Crookedcallβs fur was knotty and tangled with twigs and leaves. The grumpy warrior was feasting on a large mouse under a shady tree, her long yellow claws were red with blood. She looked like a rabid animal

Crookedcall gave a crooked grin, revealing her bloody teeth, βItβd be even better if we had those rogueβs head on a stake.β (Ainβt she a ball of sunshine?)
