It's bi day. I'm bi. My sona is bi. I wrote something for it. Also I'm aware this might be confusing, but I'm planning a comic with my sona Thunderfire in it and this sorta slots in with the running storyline. Basically, her Clan shuns her for looking different to most Clan cats, and the one time she fell in love and had a mate (Rowanear) he died. She then fell in love with a she-cat, and her Clan couldn't understand how she could love a she-cat when she'd had a tom as a mate.
Characters: Storm (Left, ace bandana and glasses), Thunderfire (right, bi bandana and my sona)
My paws scuffed up the ground as I shifted them back and forth over the earth, my ears pressed flat against my skull and my tail lashing.
How could they not understand? I've always been different, and I always will be different.
Pawsteps crunched over the earth behind me, and I whirled around, teeth bared and claws unsheathed before I spotted her and relaxed.
"Storm," I breathed, not trusting myself to speak any louder.
"Thunderfire," the dark gray she-cat's head tilted. "Why are you out here by yourself?"
"TundraClan thinks I'm a freak," I muttered, defeated. "They don't understand me."
Slowly, Storm sat down, curling her tail around her paws. She kept looking at me, an invitation for me to continue.
"They knew I was mates with Rowanear, before..." I broke off, choking back a sob and pushing away the thoughts. Storm's gaze softened and her tail-tip flicked over to land on my forepaw in an oddly comforting way.
"Before the rogues," Storm finished softly before raising a paw to push her glasses back up onto her face.
Taking a breath, I nodded before continuing. "And now that I'm with you, they're just..." I paused, shaking my head. "They don't get it. They don't understand. They think I'm trying to replace him, or it's grief, or-"
"Hey, look at me." Storm's gentle yet commanding tone split the air, and I lifted my head to look into her eyes. "They're never going to understand you. But that's okay. They don't get it because you're different. No, not different; unique. You're you, and that's why I love you."
"I-I-" My throat seemed to close over, and I swallowed. "I love you too."
"I know. You just needed the reminder." Storm's eyes sparkled with mischief, and she bumped against me. "Come on! Let's go hunting, or climb a tree, or-"
"Anything, as long as it's with you." I leaned forwards to touch noses with her, then pulled away, smiling.
"Then let's go!" Storm bounced on her paws with childlike energy. Chuckling, I stood up to follow her, all my problems and worries seeming to fall away.
As long as I've got her, I don't need my Clanmates' approval.
