This game was made for practicing writing new characters your not use to, so this is great for people that want to practice writing or wanna know how to stop writing Mary Sue characters. You may even get some great ideas for your characters!
(If you join this after it's started, go ahead and add your character to be filled in. Characters will either just have shown up late to the "party" or we'll pretend they were there the whole time.)
This is how it works: You start creating a character using the forum provided (below), or take a character you already have, and fill in everything except "Strengths" and "Weaknesses." Once you've filled in everything you need, tag someone or leave it for anyone to fill in.
While you're waiting for yours to be filled in, go and fill in the Strength and Weakness areas for the other characters. The great thing about this is that you're not as attached to the person that created this character, so you can give this character depression and make them great at gymnastics, then watch as the other person figures out how in Arithia you're suppose to write a depressed gymnast!* (note that you can also add one or two traits to make it fit with the character. Don't delete any, and please don't go crazy with this, either.)
Once your character has been filled in (and you've gotten past the stage where you're looking at this character that may or may not have been destroyed) you can add them into the role-play. Note that this isn't an official role-play and it's not warriors based! The point of this is to enjoy trying to figure out how to write this character that's got weaknesses and strengths that you may have not been prepared to write. It's all about the characters, not the plot. Jump out of character as much as you would like, in brackets, and talk about how it's going or ask questions. After the "end" of the story, we'll do a vote to see who dodged weakness obstacles the best/who the favorite character was.
Story-line and setting: Everyone here somehow managed to accidentally get locked in an "escape room." It's got it all. Riddles, built-it stuff, race-the-robot stuff, parkour, everything. You'd heard the escape room was opening, but wasn't that in a few weeks?... You thought you were going to a party, but instead you're helping them test out the massive escape room, organized by someone in your group, but you don't know who.
You brought snacks and everything... oh, well.
At the end: Like I said above, we're gonna finish it off with them escaping the escape room, then we'll vote, and then list the winners for all kinds of awards (give suggestions for awards below, preferably before the game starts). If this goes for too long, we'll have to cut it short and we can start another one later. Again, this is not an official role-play or story! It's just for the sake of goofing around and playing with new strengths and weaknesses... and seeing how quickly we can destroy a character. So go crazy with the story!
Rules:
1. (most important) Once your characters have been given weaknesses and strengths, you can't change anything that's been added to your character! If you wanna change your character, you gotta have it approved by the person that added the strengths and weaknesses.
2. You gotta stick to the character forum. If your character says they hate pizza, you can't have you character eat a bunch of pizza. That would totally be a weakness, and not using that weakness would totally be cheating.
Boring rules:
3. Please no homosexual characters. Before we talk anymore about this, I want you guys to know that I'm not excluding anyone! No one here is allowed to treat anyone else differently because of what they believe. Ever. However, making someone else's character homosexual by adding it to the traits really wouldn't be appreciated, and some people wouldn't want to use that character. As far as adding that to your own character, I know that it causes a lot of arguments and I just really don't want that to get in the way of the role-play and I don't feel it's worth the risk. Sorry!
3. Follow the website's rules, keep everything PG, clean language, etc.
Right. Let's get started!

So that thing about the depressed gymnast has a story behind it, I promise!!! I was playing this game with some friends of mine in a club and I was going around making characters terrified of popsicles and obsessed with marshmallows and made them "know they were handsome" (story behind that, too, and it did not go well...) and while people were freaking out about what I was doing to their characters, I went and looked at mine and my jaw dropped. My brilliant, happy, spunky, loud gymnast, April, was given a single word in place of the weaknesses: depression. I freaked out a bit, and suddenly realized just how little I knew about writing depression, especially since I knew a lot about it and wanted it write it correctly.
That kind of shocking moment is what I'm looking for in this game! Don't be shy writing something new, and don't be shy making a character feel just a little bit broken.
