Rowanpelt stretched and looked around, wondering what jobs could take up his spare time. The day so far had been rather boring and slow-moving for him, and he felt stagnant and lazy, as though those few hours of sluggish pause would interfere with his reputation as a warrior of the Clan. Others would find it silly, and in the back of his head Rowanpelt somewhat knew, but he also held his duties close to his heart on tired days such as this, wherein the sun would pause to rest in the sky and the air would enclose everything in a quiet, uneventful bliss. Lazy days like this were a pleasure, but also felt like a waste of time, especially with the morals most Clan cats knew were to be upheld. The constant willingness to do work was seen as a great quality in a warrior and Rowanpelt took this too seriously.
Rowanpelt stared for a moment ahead of him, his eyes fixed on a clump of cats engaged in conversation, just a little ways away from him. The skinny-built tom flexed his toes on the ground and padded around, heading toward them with anticipation. The leader was among them.
~
Burrpaw sat outside the medicine den, lazily listening in on the conversations of the others and basking in the light from above that blanched her pale, tabby pelt. She would happily waste all the time she could, so long as her mentor, Briarberry, wouldn’t be there to constantly pester her. Burrpaw doubted that this peace would last for long.
The young she-cat turned around to peer inside the den and the sharp scent of herbs and remedies hit her nose. Perhaps she could restore her knowledge a bit, work out her brain. She felt that she hadn’t learned anything in ages, though she also knew she had. Briarberry was quite a helpful mentor, trying her best, and (mostly) succeeding, at turning Burrpaw into the best potential medicine cat she could be. Burrpaw may not have seemed like the best choice for medicine cat at first, but when in the trance of learning she seemed to take a new shape. Burrpaw would happily admit that her studies with Briarberry were one of the best parts of her day, even if she sometimes got tired of the older she-cat’s sharp, organized demeanor. Burrpaw found herself eager to talk to her mentor.

Brooksong dropped her prey into the pile. She wasn't that much hungry so she walked tot he warriors den and sat down. She started to groom herself. When done, she looked around the camp to talk to anyone. She looked to see the group of cats talking but didn't approach. She was not much for the large crowd of cats talking. She looked around camp then got up. Maybe a walk would get rid of all the pent up energy that she had inside her right now. She walked towards the exit.

Frondstar nodded. "I won't worry too much, then. We'll prepare as normal, for now. Stock up on any herbs you need in case we're stuck in camp for awhile." He looked to Nightface, unable to hide a shadow of pity in his eyes. "This weather can't be good for your joints. You shouldn't over-exert yourself, I'll send an apprentice to add extra moss to your bedding so you can rest." He acknowledged Rowanpelt's approach with a nod.
Outside of camp, Blackpaw padded along the damp, leaf covered forest-floor. Darkfall followed paces behind him with the rest of the group. The forest was dark, due to the dense tree-cover and darkening sky. Soon however, the trees opened up slightly and they had reached the meadow. It was a wide open space with only one tree, an ancient and large oak near the middle of the clearing. Tall grass swayed and a slight mist of light raindrops began to fall.
Thistlemist grimaced. "I'm sure my kits will be apprentices before we know it, and we'll all be complaining about them," she chuckled.

Berrykit lays down in the nursery, watching his sister play with a bug.`` why do you like bugs so much..?`` he asked quietly, getting up and trying to walk to her but away from the bug.Berrykit hisses at the bug as it flew away.`` mousebrained bug!`` he hissed madly, glaring at it.
-----
Sagekit plays with a bug, she looks at berrykit and answers `` because bugs are awesome!`` she said, pouncing at it but it flew away. `` you scared it off!`` she hissed madly and cutely as she started to play fight with him `` that was my bug!`` she stopped, wandeing arround camp cutely like always.

OOC: Rp: Briarberry nodded, "I'm sure herb shortages won't be a problem, but maybe I'll do one last herb run before the storm." She turned to the now entering Burrpaw, "Could you check around for anything we might need more of? I'd hate to run out of something important if someone gets injured."

Nightface looked at her leader upon him mentioning her health. The pity in his eyes stung a little, though she knew he meant well. "Ah, well, I think I should be fine again once the rain starts. Its just all this humidity. Thank you, Frondstar." she nodded, acknowledging his advice.
Littlestep padded along with the rest of the group as they reached the meadow. He walked up beside Blackpaw, looking out into the expanse of grass. "Blackpaw," he mewed, calmly and quietly. "Tell me, what can you scent?"

Blueberrypaw huddled in the apprentice's den, his pelt securely hidden beneath layers of springy moss. He had been hiding there all morning, while the other apprentices slowly stirred and made their way out into the camp, assuming their various duties. His not-so-secret hiding place had kept him concealed through it all, allowing him the extra time to sleep in he so rarely got nowadays. Being an apprentice was hard, and it certainly didn't get easier with time. Doing the same monotonous chores and duties every day for four moons was starting to wear on the apprentice. He needed something fresh to do. He needed something fun. But, most of all, he needed more sleep. Rolling over in his burrow, Blueberrypaw let out a ferocious yawn, his jaws forcibly parting to release all the exhaustion he had been feeling. Slowly he rose to his feet, shaking off the few scraps of moss still lodged in his fur. If anyone asked, he'd gone out hunting. He hadn't caught anything, of course- he was only an apprentice, not a warrior who caught every bird or mouse they saw. That should be a suitable enough lie. Yawning again, Blueberrypaw gave a quick stretch before stepping out of the apprentice den, eyes blinking rapidly at the sudden light. Time to wake up, he thought ruefully. Time for another day of boring chores.
Foxfoot had been awake for hours. Not out of choice- the warrior had always been an early riser, despite his frequent desire for more sleep. Hours spent sleeping meant hours wasted, and he couldn't afford to waste any time. Not when the clan needed so much. He sighed slightly around the plump sparrow he held in his jaws, continuing his trek back towards camp. The queens needed food so their kits could eat, the apprentices needed food so they weren't exhausted with their training, the warriors needed food so they could continue to catch food for the rest of the clan. There was never any time for rest. Finally, the warrior entered back within the boundaries of the camp, stopping to drop off his kill at the fresh-kill pile before surveying the rest of camp. It appeared most of the rest of camp was awake now, moving around to talk to each other. Foxfoot moved towards the edge of the clearing, wrapping his tail around his feet as he took a seat. Maybe if he waited for a little bit, another warrior would ask him to join a hunting patrol. Or he could just go by himself again. The thought was tempting. Still, hunting in a group was probably a better idea than just slinking off by himself again. He decided he could wait for at least a few minutes before he set off again. Hey, maybe someone needed a far-too-dedicated warrior who couldn't handle himself in social situations to save his life.
(that's those two at least. sorry it took so long! Owlscar is around doing... something. probably yelling at someone honestly. I'll try and get her starter up tomorrow but hopefully these good boys are enough for now)

alright Brooksong can be Blueberrypaw's mentor and Foxfoot can mentor either Dewpaw or Fernpaw, whoever wants to claim him as a mentor haha. if no one else wants to be a mentor, Darkfall will happily mentor one of them also those are such cool headers rp headers!))
"We complain a lot but we're lucky to have so many young cats, and more on the way," Thistlemist mewed. "Berrykit and Sagekit will love having denmates that are younger than them. How long, do you think?"
Frondstar waved his tail, satisfied with Briarberry and Nightface's responses and already thinking about the next thing that needed to be done. "Foxfoot!" He called to the warrior who had just entered camp. "Can you and Rowanpelt take a patrol group and make sure no animals get any ideas about sheltering from the storm near our camp? You can take your apprentice if you'd like, and any other cats you need."
Blackpaw sniffed, screwing up his nose and opening his mouth to better taste the scent. "Hmm... I smell the rain and the wet soil... I think I smell rabbits. Maybe a whole nest of them. Some other smells too..." He shrugged. "It's hard to pick up."
Darkfall immediately split from the room, sticking to the area outside the meadow. A finch was pecking away at the ground beneath an oak, and the she-cat dropped into a crouch, slowly but surely making her way towards the bird. Her tail hovered above the leaves and as soon as she reached pouncing distance, Darkfall waited a moment and attacked. The leaves rustled as she pounced and the finch took off, leaving her empty pawed. She sat up and rolled her eyes- but that was life. Darkfall decided to hunt from the tree branches and drop upon her prey, the move for which she had earned her name.

Littlestep nodded. The indistinguishable scents seemed like muddled birds who'd been and gone to him. "Which direction do you think the rabbit scent is coming from?" he prompted.
Nightface watched Briarberry as the molly instructed her apprentice. "I hope you don't mind if I stay a little while longer. I'd like the company if I've got to stay in camp."

OOC: Rp: Briarberry nodded, "I'm sure herb shortages won't be a problem, but maybe I'll do one last herb run before the storm." She turned to the now entering Burrpaw, "Could you check around for anything we might need more of? I'd hate to run out of something important if someone gets injured." “Of course,” replied Burrpaw, entering reality again. She flexed her paws and headed inside the den, keenly scanning the stores that were lined up neatly against the walls. Of course Briarberry would be one to keep the collection as organized as possible, with a seemingly elaborate system of categorization for each type of herb. Burrpaw had learned almost immediately to go by her sense of smell when looking for a specific herb, because otherwise, she’d spend too much time scanning over the stores to ever find what she was looking for. Mostly bitter smells hung in the air, stale as though wind hadn’t stirred the den air in ages. Burrpaw held back a sneeze. To the naked eye, everything seemed adequate, but Burrpaw noticed almost immediately upon looking closer that there was a shortage of alder. Only a few small pieces of the bark could be found. She padded deeper inside the den, and in a few steps was immersed inside, able to keenly look over every herb. Her heart dropped at noticing a more important shortage; a shortage of lungwort, which could cure yellowcough if used right. Marigold was also in lesser quantities than usual, which worried Burrpaw. It was a key herb in healing flesh wounds, one of the few herbs that was rarely needed at times but in the event of a battle suddenly became high in demand. It could stop all kinds of infections, Burrpaw knew. Hopefully these herbs, especially marigold, could be found safely growing somewhere, perhaps under the cover of a Twoleg structure or deep in the forest, where they might grow unbothered. Everything else seemed fine. “Briarberry?” said the young apprentice, approaching her mentor. “I found a few shortages, particularly in a more important herb.”

Brooksong looked for her apprentice around camp. She knew he needed some extra hunting practice. he was behind the apprentices in that part of his training. She huffed when she didn't find him. She looked towards the apprentice dens and rolled her eyes. She walked over, "Blueberrypaw?"
