inspired by the movie, obviously. disclaimer: this may not even go anywhere, but if this generates enough interest, i'll either get this roleplay going or transfer my work to someone else.

i'm thinking i'm gonna take this idea a bit more seriously rn, now that i have the free time and mental capacity to even begin running a large-scale roleplay lmfao
two packs exist on the island--unreconcilable moral dilemma between the two has them not only split but sworn against each other
pack one: lead by samson (purebred, vizsla)
- still have a devotion to their human owners
- mainly comprise of purebreds as well as rescued mutts that really appreciated their second shot at life
- refuses to eat other dogs, despite the lack of food
- main goal is to someday make it back to the mainland to be reunited with their owners
pack two: lead by buck (mix, resembles a seppala siberian sleddog) (shoutout to call of the wild)
- have no devotion to humans or god
- actively hate against purebred dogs for their stuck-up qualities and posh lives
- take pride in their muddled blood status
- main goal is to survive every day

I love these kinds of ideas. I’ve tried to start my own apocalyptic animal roleplays, to no avail. I wasn’t as good a writer back then, and I was very inspired by a dog roleplay group I saw on dA. The storyline was about a worldwide drought, and the dogs somehow survived to form a cult and their own society. They were strongly bound by religion. They even had industry. The human dynamics really amazed me, because I’d never seen anything like it before.
I didn’t even know about the movie, but I’m pretty interested in this idea. I’ll definitely research the plot. I’d love to help develop this idea if you’re on board.
Some of my fave things about the idea of dog rp is the hierarchy and relationships between the animals that are different from those of humans. Since the dogs were just placed there, new traditions would also have time to develop. I’m a big fan of that bc it adds some depth, but in the few rps I’ve seen they’ve already been developed. We could make some real interesting development with the process of developing atmosphere, traditions, etc. I like to go for an “ancient kingdom” / barbaric / folklore / viking mood. Or a spiritual/religious awakening / war kind of mood. This’ll certainly be interesting.

@ripper thanks for your interest, man, and i will say that this was pretty much intended to follow at least the background plot of the movie. i do encourage you to either look up the plot or watch it yourself (i highly recommend it!!) if you've got the time/it's still in theaters.
that being said though, i'm open to using some of your ideas as subplots, though.

i'd honestly want something very very minimalistic, following the aesthetic and color choices of the film posters and movie itself--think black, red, and yellow fonts. no graphics are necessary, either.
