BerryTooth sighed and shook her head. "Sadly no. I really want one though, think it would do me good to have that experience."

Coyoteflame nodded sympathetically but didn't look up at the warrior. "I would like one too. I don't think Viperstar would entrust me with an apprentice quite yet. I think she would say I was too reckless." He said with a small laugh. The tom spoke more quietly. "I was kinda hoping to mentor one of Coldfire's kits. I'll be experienced enough for an apprentice when those are ready. I'm just not sure if Coldfire would approve."

BerryTooth perked her ears to catch his words before nodding. "You're not reckless at all. Why do you think ColdFire won't approve of you mentoring one of her kits?"

Coyoteflame laughed. It was nice of her to say, but it was true. Even he knew he could be considered reckless. He loved to race into issues. The thrill was amazing and he hadn't gotten hurt yet. "Coldfire is serious. She doesn't like cats who play around and get off task. I think she would believe I'm irresponsible. She wouldn't trust her kitten to me."

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Every cat has their faults but they also have their strengths. Instead of thinking about your faults ColdFire would be more interested in what you can give and do for her kits as a mentor." BerryTooth had a matter-of-fact tone as she spoke.

Coyoteflame shook his head. The strange she-cat was nice, but he didn't need the words she spoke. "I'm not looking for your sympathy. I know my strengths." He said, with a small smile. "Don't worry. I'm sure you'll have an apprentice soon. You may be a bit un-fun but most mothers favor that trait. You'll keep all the kits in line, even if they whine." He said, trying to complement the she-cat.

BerryTooth felt like she had just been bitten by a fox as he said that. She lowered her head and her tail started to drag through the leaves as she walked. She never wanted to be un fun... she just knew the limits to fun and stupidity. She was also a self-conscious cat and so didn't like to give others any other things to talk about than her mis-colored tooth.

Coyoteflame immediately saw the difference in the she-cat. He did mean what she had said. The she-cat was strict. A bit too strict in his mind. He couldn't see the she-cat taking risks. I wasn't fun in his mind. "I meant that as a good thing, you know. It isn't bad to be in-fun at times. It's good, really." She tried to reassure the she-cat. He risked brushing his tail against the she-cat's flank in an attempt to comfort.

BerryTooth jumped at the touch. "Yeah... I know you meant good by it. IT's just I'm not good at a lot and being un fun too... I just didn't know there was that much wrong with. Ugh... What do my other clan mates think of me then." She hung her head again and stopped walking. "There's no way I'll ever become deputy. I mean... I wouldn't have anyway but now there really is no way."

Mothpaw observed curiously. If she wasn't sick or hurt, perhaps she wanted to help him restock? Well, he wasn't sure there was much they needed. They could use some bedding, he supposed. The apprentice walked over to his nest and patted it, looking at Beepaw to see if she understood.

"Well, first you need to train an apprentice and then prove yourself in a big way." He said. He had thought about becoming deputy many times. He rejected the idea after a while. If given the position, he would naturally accept. But the deputy position was hard work and work for someone more levelheaded. He liked doing things the way he wanted. "You just need to wait a little longer. The deputy spot isn't open yet." He mewed, hoping to fix his mess.
---
Beepaw blinked and took a second to think. "Moss?" She guessed before she remembered that he was deaf. She nodded silently. She padded over to the nests. Again, nests was something she had never done, but she was ready to try. With claws unsheathed, she started to tear up the moss.

"Well it is actually. ViperStar just doesn't want to except that KrestelFlight is gone and so we're stuck with no deputy. I'm not being mean or anything but the clan runs smoother when there's a deputy." BerryTooth swished her tail as she started speaking, her confidence returning to her as she spoke of something that she had thought of plenty.

Coyoteflame shook his head and his tail lashed before he could stop it. The she-cat was making sense up until now. He was going to think about how much the she-cat wanted this spot in justification of her words. Otherwise, they would be bordering on traitorous or, at least, offensive. "Well, then it isn't open. If the leader doesn't want to name a deputy, then she doesn't have to. The spot isn't open until she says." He said with no hesitation. According to the code, the leader's word was law. She decided what to do, or not to do. What annoyed Coyoteflame more was the fact Berrytooth dismissed Krestelflight so quickly. "Even if she did want to name a new deputy, we can't. We don't know Krestelflight is gone. We don't know where he is at all. He could still be alive. You can't dismiss a clanmate like that just because you want the spot." His voice shifted to more of a accusatory tone the more he spoke. Of course he couldn't hold back his true thoughts. This time, he didn't feel that bad.

BerryTooth shook her head quickly. "StarClan no! I wasn't meaning it that way. It's just KrestelFlight suddenly disappeared and it's been a few moon now. I knew them. They wouldn't have done something like this willingly. The easiest explanation is that they go picked up b a two-leg." BerryTooth's gaze turned cold. "And I'm not saying this just because I want the position. I can't be deputy until I've had an apprentice and so there's no way I can be the deputy. I know that and have accepted it. I'm just saying that the clan isn't running right without a deputy."

I have Marble open. She's having a panic attack right now and still has a thorn in her back. I'm also wanting her to end up with a clan cat and they have to keep it secret and such. Hehe)) i have two cats open, Tallpine and Mistypool. They are both loyal to the clan but I cant see Tallpine being too nice to a non-clan cat due to Viperstar's belief but Mistypool is pretty chill and doesnt like hurting other cats.))))

Okay. MistyPool would be good. I'm still looking for a cat to be secret mates with Marble though. She's bi so if you want MistyPool to have a mate then that could be a plot development later??
Anyways. Do you wanna start the rp? Marble is in her den by the waterfall.))

Coyoteflame guessed the she-cat's claim was reasonable. He had heard many rumors about the tom's disappearance. Some say he was taken, others say he is lost, and the few say he is dead. Coyoteflame did not want to admit it was any of this things. The deputy hadn't been close to him, but, like most of the clan, he had looked up to the tom. "You are correct." he said, slowly nodding, "But I'm not going to admit he is gone. He can't be." The warrior shook her head.

BerryTooth nodded. "I can understand that. He was my friend and I don't want him to be gone either...," she flicks her tail tip, turning over a leaf and shuffled her fur.

Coyoteflame sighed and shook out his pelt. The sadness was too heavy. He went out to walk and relax in the sun. Which didn't help when the branches were blocking the sky. "Okay, we are suppose to be patrolling." He said. He scented the air again. "Why don't be try to catch that rabbit? They are pretty rare and tasty. Maybe giving it to Coldfire will earn us her favor." He joked.

Okay!))
Marble was finally managing to calm down from her panic attack. Her paws were now sore and the pads on them were a bit raw as she sat down in her nest, her chest heaving as she tried to steady her breath, her eyesight clearing. The thorn in her back hurt a lot more now and she turned to see if she could get it out but couldn't reach it.

Marble tensed as she heard a splash, her mind starting to work faster. "No, no no no no! I can't be found again. One more time and they really will chase me out... what do I do??" She thought she had mumbled her words but she actually spoke louder than she had intended to and she hoped the waterfall had drowned out her voice.

Marble heard someone moving about and climbed under some of the bushes that were the sides of her den. She got her shoulder stuck though trying to get under and when she got it free the bush rustled. She quickly curled uo under the bush, hoping that the other cat hadn't been looking over. The thorn in her back was now causing pulses of pain and climbing under the bush had only made it worse.

There was not much Mothpaw could do but watch the girl tear out the moss. Was she doing this right? Honestly, he had no idea. One of the apprentices always did it, never him.
----
Viperstar watched the rest of the camp with a sigh. Were the patrols cycling right? Was hunting being done? If she wasn't so stubborn, there would be a deputy to handle all of this. Subconsciously, her nose wrinkled and her claws slipped out into the dirt.

Noticing Viperstar, Reedshade paused before slipping over to the fresh-kill pile. He plucked one of the mice he'd caught earlier and walked over to his leader. "Viperstar," he mewed, dropping it by her. "Would you like this? I took a hunting patrol to the waterfall earlier to stock the fresh-kill pile for the elders and nursery."

AshPaw was still in the apprentices den. He had dragged his nest to most shadowed area and had even dug out a small hollow to set it in before burrowing himself into the nest. His eyes were sad and his tail was pulled over his nose. His thoughts seemed to be yelling at him and after a little while he knew he wouldn't be able to take a nap. He had come to the conclusion that MothPaw had understood him but didn't feel the same and so now didn't wan to be around him. The thought made him even sadder and he shuffled deeper into the moss of his nest, pulling his ears back.
