The Swing Of ThingsWelcome to the Roarin' Twenties! World War One ended and it's a time for change. There were many political changes, but we won't worry about that here. This is our club - The Swing Of Things. We're a jazz club - feel free to smoke and drink and indulge - but downstairs every night the basement turns into a it's own world. Swing dancing and music play. Feeling worried is strictly prohibited. That is until... they wanted to buy our building. They wanted to turn it into a bank for them to keep their dirty money. The Plot...Muse A is a swing-dancing, worry free bohemian living their prime in the roaring twenties. They are a frequent member of the club and are a notorious dancer who doesn't back down from a challenge. Muse B is a rich and important business person, they also never back down from a challenge. Fuelled by their fathers constant disappointment, they want to make a big move. That move is to knock down the old, dirty building known as 'The Swing Of Things' and they want to replace it with something new and something fresh, they want to stamp it with their name and make their father proud. Yet, there is a problem with their plan... Muse A will not let go of their beloved club without a fight. But Muse B is no fool. Muse A must do something a little different - try a plan never done before... they'll make Muse B swing. Hi!So obviously there are details missing from this plot that'll, should you want to RP with me, we shall fill in and flesh out C: Things to note about me: - I like to post 3+ paragraphs per post and will lose muse should posts be much shorter than that.
- I'm an Australian who works so I'm not on at the most convenient times, but I do try and post daily ^^
- You do not have to be well versed in the 20s to RP this plot. I've only kinda googled it a bit and will do so as we RP, but I'm not fussed it it isn't entirely accurate! It is just the most fitting time for this cute lil' rp to be set.
- I prefer to RP mxf.

sure! hello c: i'm doing a lil bit of research about the time to get a better feel for it and stuff. i've always loved it, but like don't really know too much haha. but i like the idea of like our characters also being a little troubled because of the war. awesome! i wanted to rp muse a as a female c; so that's sweet. so, did you have any questions about it? where do you think we should set it? i'm thinking europe or the UK. what do ya think?

hey there, lmao all good. i'm very well-versed in this decade in both the americas and western europe, but the times were pretty different in both countries/regions. i guess what you'd call "the lost generation" and that mindset was much more prevalent in europe (think the sun also rises, mrs. dalloway) than it was in the us (the great gatsby), though both had a distinct party culture among the young people in the upper middle/middle classes. i guess it just depends what undercurrent you want in the background--elation and nationalism that characterized the us, or disillusionment and depression in europe. (also know that if we decide to set this in the us, bootlegging alcohol is gonna be a thing bc of prohibition) i'm down to do either setting. my character is going to be british, regardless, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i think it being in london would be best anyways - the club could be a little metaphor. since it's a place for dancing and fun and stuff, without it everyone would be bleak, and it kind of serves as muse A's soul.
but yeah, i think that'll be good. did you wanna lil forms for our people or just describe as we go?

ok, that's perfect! (that's actually the setting and vibe that's in mrs. dalloway, and it's suuuuch a phenomenal book. also excuse my nerding out rn) up to you! the character i'm planning on using is one of my oldest so i have a couple saved references for him--just gotta make a few tweaks to place him better in this setting, historically speaking--so either works perfectly fine w me.
