hana's eyes widened in surprise. so that was what she'd been smelling- no wonder it was familiar to her. 'oh! of course. I knew I recognized the scent. my father's line is a very minor one in the inu court in the west. he's not much more than a servant, which is why I've been kicked out to live on my own.' she glanced to akane, remembering the sandwich still in her other hand, and took a large and rather sloppy bite of it. 'what about you?' she mumbled through her mouthful. 'I know you're something too-*swallow*- you put my hackles up every time you come near me.'

"Hmph." Mitsuo chuckled and looked off to the side. "My entire family hates dogs, terrified of them... they're not so bad once you know how to deal with them though." he said. He conveniently left out the fact that as a young fox he was so terrified of dogs and dog youkai that he couldn't even keep his human form around them. It wasn't until he strayed from his home and started to regularly visit the human cities that he got used to them.

'well, I try to be good,' hana mumbled, taking another massive bite of the sandwich. there were only two bites left at the rate she was going. 'so...can we get out of the limelight here? we're standing on a streetcorner in broad daylight- people will talk.' she took another bite and mumbled 'they don't do much else, so I've noticed.' she eyed the alley significantly again. knowing that akane was a hanyou like her was a little comforting, and it explained a lot that she'd been raised by her human parent and thus didn't seem like the half-wolf she actually was. had she been raised by her mother, hana thought, she would have ousted the girl from her territory long ago, for as she had said, wolves and dogs did not get along.

(hey~ now we're all on maybe we can keep going! in other news, I met a bakeneko today. that was odd. big group of humans [easiest to remain unseen that way, y'know] and someone gets done talking and 'MEOW' nice and loud. everyone looked round. she didn't say another word the whole time and left pretty quick when the gathering was over. ))

Sure! Just give me a moment~ Also sorry for poofing!! >_<]] I'm just gonna have Mitsuo say a little something before making her]]
Mitsuo looked around, there were quite a few people walking around in their immediate area...not that it really bothered him all that much. Although, the sun was shining down on that little spot rather heavily, making this a bad day for Mitsuo to wear black. "I suppose I wouldn't mind moving, it is shadier over there." he said. It would also give him a chance to give his ears a break from being pressed down by the hat.

Tama Suzuki ~ Age 150, looks about 16 ~ Female ~ Bakeneko Hanyou Tama, as mentioned earlier, is a bakeneko hanyou, or half cat spirit. Her cat form is a short-furred calico, though her orange and black markings are rather sparse. One ear of hers is black, her tail is all white, and there are a couple orange and black splotches on one side of hers. In both of her forms her eyes are bright green. Her human form has (ironically) long strawberry blond hair that is always tied up into long twin tails. She has a white ribbon tied in a bow around her neck, with two light golden bells dangling from the knot. Her outfits are usually an oversized zip-up jacket over a short-sleeved blouse with light blue jean capris and flats. Her mother is a full-blooded bakeneko and her father was a normal human. However, she was raised by both parents out in the country until her father passed away of old age. She was very sheltered growing up, and now that she's on her own she isn't the greatest at keeping herself out of trouble. She absolutely adores music and dancing/singing to it, and she is pretty innocent despite her actual age. She also loves sweets and cute things, and is very excitable.
Bleh, sorry that took so long >~<]]

it's okay, but I have to go for now- I have work in the morning. I'm thinking of making some kind of youkai- I want someone with facial markings. dunno, we'll see.))
hana shot him an incredulous glare. 'I thought foxes were supposed to be sneaky and not like being seen by humans,' she commented. she ate the last bite of sandwich, wiping the crumbs on her opposite sleeve without care for hygiene. she started to sidle toward the alleyway, not wanting to touch (or, more likely, drag) the wolf-girl, akane, along with her if she didn't have to. hopefully the other hanyou would get the hint soon enough.

Mitsuo shrugged, and strolled into the alley after Hana. "But if I stay away I can't mess with them as I please~" he answered, a mischievous grin on his face. "Besides, it's plenty easy to be sneaky even while walking right among them. You just make sure you don't get caught," the fox added with a snicker. "We only don't like it when they see our natural form."

hana gave a loud scoffing snort. 'whatever,' she said dismissively. 'you only don't want em to see ya 'cos you're all ugly or somethin'.' she leaned up against the wall and looked around, making sure there were no humans around. then she took the shirt off her head, wriggling her black-tipped ears in relief.

--Akihiko-- age 12 (looks 10-12) -- Inu Hanyou, 3/4 -- the boy is the child of an inu hanyou and another inu daiyoukai, making him 3/4 youkai. he looks very much like his father, including nearly white hair and thin triangular facial markings on his cheeks starting at each ear to under the iris. these are a plum color like this. he also has a small matching triangular stripe on the center of his forehead from hairline to the center of his forehead, starting at a quarter inch wide and tapering quickly. his eyes are golden and his ears are normal for inu-youkai, pointed a bit and elfin. he has a dog form, a massive white hound. his facial markings are also present in this form. his clothing appears archaic, with a kimono top (hunting jacket, can't remember the name) and sashinuki pants, poofy and bloused at the bottom. he also has what looks like a white fur boa tied around his waist like a second obi, with the long end sticking out behind him. it's actually a part of him, essentially a tail. he is considered the second heir to the western court as the first-born of the current leader's first child, a hanyou daughter. his father is also very high-ranking, of course. -- the boy is extremely naive and has quite a bit of wanderlust because he knows he's seen so little of the world. he's quick to anger and very strong, having most of his father's strength and abilities. however, he is just as quick to be calm and even caring if the occasion arises. he does not know the truth about his day of vulnerability, as his father always hid him. the day before the night of the full moon, sunrise to sunset, is his vulnerable day.

I hope she is ;-;]]
Mitsuo gave Hana a look of mock offense before taking his cap off. "That stings," he said. "We foxes happen to be very beautiful creatures, you know...though I guess a dog like yourself wouldn't really understand." He tossed the hat off to the side and straightened out his ears with his hands. "Much better." he murmured. He closed his eyes as he leaned against the wall for a moment, but stood straight up as fast as he had relaxed. A loud ruckus was coming from one of the stores up the street, he could hear people yelling followed by a loud cat screech. He peeked around the corner, but was too far away to see anything.
A soft thud came from behind the fox and the hanyou, the source being a slightly larger than average calico cat with a very long tail. She held a herring in her jaws, and let out a sigh of relief as she dropped it on the ground. "Finally safe." she whispered.

the ruckus caught the hanyou's attention as well and she stiffened, crouching a little and starting to growl. when the thud happened, hana looked back around to see a large cat. her growling grew louder. she didn't like cats all that much. but when it talked, that was too much. 'just what are you?' hana demanded in a loud voice, deliberately trying to startle the newcomer. she made herself look bigger, puffing up her chest and baring her small fangs.

Mitsuo turned around when he heard Hana growling. He jumped a little, and in that moment his two tails popped out behind him thanks to the surprise of seeing the cat. He clicked his tongue in irritation, thinking he had gotten over that habit.
The cat blinked before looking up. Her large green eyes slowly moved to Hana, then to Mitsuo before widening to what seemed like double their size. Ears, growling, tails...the cat instantly fluffed up and jumped to her paws. "KYA! I-Inu! K-Kitsune! S-Sorry for barging in like this! Please don't hurt me!!" she wailed, backing up from them. Her eyes kept flicking between the two, obviuosly just as surprised about them as they were about her.

if hana hadn't been posturing to scare the cat, she would probably have laughed at the appearance of the two tails on the kitsune beside her. she'd been wondering where they were. as the cat continued to talk, proving it was no ordinary feline, hana settled somewhat. 'easy, kitty-cat, I'm not gonna eat ya or anything. what've you got there?' she asked, sniffing in the direction of the fish and wincing, wrinkling her nose. she didn't care much for fresh fish.
(lol, mitsuo reminds me of a friend of mine)

"I might." Mitsuo muttered off-hand. He crossed his arms as he watched the cat, not bothering to hide his tails yet.
The cat's fur lay flat again as she started to calm down, though she still kept her distance. She glanced down at the fish and looked back at Hana. "I-It's just a fish...I was hungry..." she said.
"So you're the one those people were yelling at earlier. Now I see why." Mitsuo commented. He snickered. "Nice...I wouldn't have gotten caught though. And I wouldn't have stolen a fish."
"Stolen? Those people give fish to normal cats all the time! I... I didn't steal!" she mewed defensively.

'suuuure. you don't steal and I don't dumpster-dive to get enough to eat. sounds about right, kitty-cat.' hana let out a huff and glanced over to mitsuo. 'eh, mitsu, your tails are showing,' she commented, nodding at the two rather handsome-looking tails the youkai had. sometimes hana wished she'd gotten a tail, but the ears were enough to hide. 'you never answered my question,' she commented, turning back to the calico. 'what are you?'

Mitsuo glanced behind him. "Yeah, I know. I'll deal with those later." he murmured. For now he just took the jacket off and tied it around his wait, so it was covering most of each tail. After he finished that, he looked back at the cat with interest.
"I'm a bakeneko!" The cat mewed rather proudly. She adjusted the ribbon around her neck, making the two bells jingle, and shifted into her human form. Two pointed ears sprung up from long strawberry blonde hair, one white and one black. "Well, half bakeneko really~"

hana let out an incredulous noise. 'another hanyou?' she wondered aloud. 'I thought I was the only one in this area for ages- but you're the second I've met just today.' she glanced to the kitsune beside her, still a bit surprised that he was full-blooded. she had known there was an old shrine outside the city, since she'd tried seeking asylum with them after being kicked out of the western court. but they had been deathly afraid of dogs and inu-youkai alike, and she hadn't even gotten the chance to ask. she looked back to the calico, blue and gold eyes curious. 'so, where do you stay? how is it we've never met before?'
(I need to head to bed, today's been long and I'm exhausted. I'll be on more tomorrow though, and I'll probably intro akihiko.)

"I grew up in the countryside...my mom wouldn't let us live anywhere near the city. No matter how many times I asked, the answer was always no and she never told me why." Her arms in their overly-long sleeves dropped at her sides and for a moment she looked rather forlorn, but that quickly disappeared. Her tail flicked and she looked up at Hana and Mitsuo. "I'm Tama, by the way~" she added.
"Call me Mitsu." the fox said simply. He was slightly distracted, also thinking about why he had never run into these individuals before now...especially after living his entire life in the same place. Granted, he did always make sure to avoid areas where he sensed dogs or inu-youkai...

'hana. well, I suppose that explains it. your mother was the youkai, I suppose, and if she could sense kitsune in the shrine in this town she'd have told you to stay away.' hana scratched behind one of her ears thoughtfully. 'well, anyway, where are you staying now? don't suppose either of you'd be willing to let me camp out there?' she tried to sound self-assured and confident, but couldn't hide the tiny pleading whine in her voice. she'd been alone for so very long, and camping out made her feel less than a youkai or a human.
akihiko escaped from the court during his day of humanity, when his scent changed. he'd heard reports of the wider world from many of the youkai who visited the western court, and he wanted to see for himself. he rested that evening, then continued to travel far faster once his youkai powers returned. when he reached a town filled with humans, he stopped, shifting into his humanoid form from his inu form. he glanced nervously about, small nose in the air, following a recognisable scent- that of kitsune, which was coming from a shrine on the outskirts...

Tama twirled her fingers in one pigtail. "I don't think my mom would be too happy...maybe if you brought her a bunch of fish or something, but she's really afraid of dogs. More than I am." she said with an embarrassed giggle before sticking her hands in her pockets. Then she looked sheepishly at the ground. "Also, I'm sorta just wandering around myself..." she added quietly.
"I live at the shrine outside of town, but good luck staying there if you're not a kitsune. They barely even tolerate me," Mitsuo said with a slight bitterness to his voice. He picked up a leaf that happened to be blowing by and placed it on the top of his head. Closing his eyes to concentrate, the two tails behind him disappeared when his eyes opened again. "There is shed thing on the edge of the property. You could probably stay there...though I've been using it for my own purposes."

'well, would you be willing to share it?' she asked, the pleading note a bit more pronounced now. she just really wanted a roof over her head again. it had been far too long. and a bath that wasn't cold or rainwater would be heavenly, she thought with a slightly wistful expression. she shook herself, flicking her ears in embarrassment for her moment of weakness. 'or maybe I can catch some fish...though I don't think I could live with the constant cat-stink.'
akihiko reached the edge of the shrine lands, staring up at the torii, still sniffing delicately. though in humanoid form, it was very clear he was a youkai. 'is anyone here?' he called.

Mitsuo paused to think, letting out a sigh as he did so. "I guess so," he said. "I think it's far enough away from the temple so my family won't mind. They're not fond of dogs or hanyou to be honest." He glanced at Hana, it was unusual for him to offer help to another youkai (or anyone really) - and an inu-hanyou at that. Maybe it was the desperation he could sense from her or something...he'd definitely think of some way for her to pay him back for this act of kindness. "I'll show you the way," he said, smirking to himself as he put the cap back on and walked out of the alley.
Tama was giving her arm a sniff during this entire conversation. "Cats don't smell..." she murmured, pouting a bit. When she looked up she saw Mitsuo leaving and perked up. "Can I come with you?" she asked, eyes sparkling. "Wait, let me just hide my tail~" She grabbed her tail and tucked it under her jacket, out of sight.

hana immediately perked up at mitsuo's acquiescence, wriggling slightly in joy even though she did not possess a tail like the others did. 'your family is weird, ya know. there are kitsune who visit the court all the time, who love the inu-youkai.' she glanced at the bakeneko, tama, letting out a snort of amusement at her assertion she didn't smell. 'yeah ya do,' she commented under her breath, moving to follow. 'eh, mitsu, it's not too far, is it?'
akihiko started through the torii, stepping onto the grounds and sniffing, looking around for the kitsune. why hadn't they appeared yet? how disrespectful.
