(We should have it to where all of our characters could cross over at sometime?) Cleopatra's eyes widened as the guard told them Tutsef would not be able to accompany her. As Tutsef pulled her to the side, she began trembling nervously. When Tutsef had said she didn't have to do this if she didn't want to, she felt a little more at ease but her heart was still pounding. She inhaled a deep breath ,catching the stench of the prisoners and exhaled. "I'll do it" She nervously bit her lip. "But what do I say?" [[I was thinking that -- I'm aware Meri needs dirt on her mum, and the assassin's want her dead is good dirt. Also she'd use the info that her dad fancies an exotic dancer to her own benefit. But we'd need to wait until the other two plots worked themselves out. Meri interacting with Thutsef would be great as well. She could tell him to grow some balls and ask the girl out.]] "Just find out why he wants Nefertiti dead -- nothing else matters. If we can figure out why, we can figure out who else wants her dead. Then, we can fix the problem," Thutsef replied. His hands clasped and unclasped a few times, and he paced up and down with nervousness -- after all he'd been told, he absolutely didn't want to let Cleo go. "You need anything, and I don't care what I need to do to get to you -- I'll get to you. All you need to do is shout," he told, and put one hand on her shoulder, not wanting to stop looking at her. "Good luck," he said finally, and kissed her cheek before turning away, leaving Cleo to the task of interrogating the prisoner. ~~~ In the cell, the assassin twiddled his fingers, and chuckled as soon as he heard faint footsteps coming towards him. "A woman?" he said. "Are the pagan's that barbaric, that they send women to interrogate their prisoners?" he asked, removing his black hood. His clothing was exclusively black, except for the Tzitziyot around his shoulders that clearly indicated his Israeli nationality.

Cleopatra nodded at Tutsefs words, tried to steady herself, and began walking.
She nervously made her way to the cell where the prisoner resided. 'You can do this , Cleopatra , She thought to herself , 'Just one simple question and I can leave..
As she approached the assassin , she noticed that he was an Israeli. She stood up tall to make herself look more confident than she was.
"Why do you want queen Nefertiti dead?" She asked, her voice nervously cracking at the end.

She stood up tall to make herself look more confident than she was. "Why do you want queen Nefertiti dead?" She asked, her voice nervously cracking at the end. He laughed -- his resounding, throaty accent reverberating off the stone cell walls. Israeli's had originated in lands not far from here, and his ancestors had been in Egypt for hundreds of years, yet, his voice was so different from hers -- it was rough, quiet but precise and strong enough that it was clearly heard. He slowly shifted round in his seat then stood, hands curling around the bars of his cell and his graying beard poking out of the gaps between them. The assassin's gaze fixed upon Cleopatra's and his charcoaled amber eyes would not let her go. "When my people left Egypt," he said. "Led by one of your Princes, we came to a mountain where that Prince brought forth Rules from our One God. Rules that barred murder. Now, I have sacrificed my soul by preparing to murder one Egyptian." "Why would I damn myself even more by killing another? Because you'll be as good as dead if I tell you what your Queen, very desperately, wants no one to know."

[[Yupp I can do that.]]
The 'party' was at night. The Egyptian 'Pharaoh' had let them use a lesser hall for another 'celebration'. Egyptian fools -- each night had to be marked by some ridiculous party or pomp. An unfortunate circumstance of their undue wealth. They squandered it, choosing to keep their civilizations close to the Nile. If they'd gotten a bit hardier and ventured out into the desert, they could be a more successful nation. But no, they chose to have pretty plants instead!
So tonight, the 'party' King Teshup had put on was an insultingly simple affair. On plain cedar benches and tables, bread and beer was served. The party was exclusively men, with a few slaves around the outside. Only Teshup had a chair. There was one main chandelier lit, no other lights. The room smelt like sweat, and horses. Like men. Good, Teshup thought, Akhenaten was faaar too accommodating to womenfolk. Perhaps that's why his wife was such a witchy mare.
Oh but there was one woman allowed. That little dancer thing he'd seen the other night. He'd invited her for two reasons. One, she was easy on the eyes and two, it was so entertaining watching Akhenaten deny his lust for her. The man was completely henpecked -- too much of a coward to simply take what he wanted.
As the dance ended Teshup slowly applauded, a dangerous, sharkish grin on his face.
"Well, I'm sure Akhywhaten was sad he missed that -- I did invite him, y'know."
[[writing explanation as to where Akh is in a minute.]]

His eyes looked as if they were piercing through her very soul. She felt intimidated, but was determined to stand her ground. She had to admit though, she was intrigued.
"You say the queen is hiding something.." She lifted her head confidently. "And you will have to murder me if you tell me her secret" Cleopatra moved closer to the assassin , so close that he could almost grab her -- if he wanted to.
"Let me ask you one thing.... how are you going to kill me when you are in a cell?" a little sneer showed up on her face.
"Where is my attitude coming from? Had spending time trying to save the queen with Tutsef built my confidence? She asked herself internally.
She hesitated slightly before saying , "You do not scare me" , even though it was a lie.

"The Hittite King has invited you to a party this evening," Nefertiti said, her long sea-blue fingernails picking up flakes of fish and slipping them into her glossy, softened thin lips.
Akhenaten looked up from his bowl of crocodile stew and raised an eyebrow in inquisition.
"Why wasn't I invited?" Nefertiti asked, not with a tone of accusation, but in that simple curious but concerned way that governed most of her speech. Akhenaten smiled.
"Simple, m'dear -- because you're a woman who won't allow him to bed you," her Husband said. Nefertiti laughed. "How could I ever?" she joked and Akhenaten shrugged.
"Well, I'd say refusing to bed him must show you're a woman with a good taste in men," he started.
"But then again, you married me -- so how could that be true," the Pharaoh joked and his wife simply rolled her eyes and gave him a mock kick under the table, unable to hide her smirk at his remark. Akhenaten enjoyed seeing her happy -- it was a rare thing these days.
"Don't worry, I won't be attending," he said, tucking back into his soup.
"Not even when he's mentioned the hiring of some...dancer, you liked?"
Akhenaten stopped. He slowly put his spoon down and looked up at his wife.
"Meketaten?" he asked. Nefertiti shook her head. "Ay," she replied.
Pharaoh put down his spoon and curled his fists in anger. "Your father should curb his tongue," Akhenaten said, standing up and walking to the back of his wife, gently caressing her cheek and turning her face to his. "Because all he's done is worry you for no reason."
"The girl was skilled at her job, nothing more," Akhenaten lied, gulping down the guilt of speaking an untruth to his wife and Queen. Only for Ipy's on safety did he lie.
Nefertiti smiled, resting into his touch. "Even when I'm continuing to fail you?" she said, voicing the concern that had pressed cracks into the fabled 'marriage of gold'.
"I trust in Aten to give us an answer -- whether that be a son in your womb or perhaps a...very fortunate marriage, for Meri," Akhenaten said, knowing both were equally as unlikely. "Now, would you let me sooth your fears by taking you to bed."
Nefertiti smiled. Not her sweet, gentle, intimate smile. But the conniving, viciously ambitious smile that had been placed on her face by her father's blood being placed in her linage.
"Not tonight, my sweet King. I...am unsure as to whether my body can receive such luxurious treatment tonight," she said and with that left their dinner together, walking out the main doors and towards her own quarters. Akhenaten frowned. What in the name of Aten did that mean?! Nef was hiding something from him.
But it wasn't like there was much he could do to find out. Instead, he started to pray -- silently, that Ipy would soon be free from performing to Hittite brutes.

The assassin laughed, pulling himself forward on the bars so his face was even closer, and anger coming to his eyes as well as a little gleeful excitement. "I shall not be the one killing you by plunging a dagger in your chest. The Queen will -- she'll order it. She's murdered before to keep her secret hidden. Murdered one of our soothsayers -- our prophets," he said, then slowly released his grip on the bars, turned around and walked to the back of the cell -- hunched over in regret and sadness. "I doubt you'll believe it, but, I didn't come to Egypt to kill her. I simply wished to know where she buried his bones. I'd hate to think of my dear brother wrapped up in linen and trapped in one of your triangle tombs, under the sigel of your false Idol's."

(Ooooh Akhe....better look out, son!) [[Yeahno I've made him more than just a little bit of a spoon. Also, that part isn't really interact-able it's just there to serve as an explanation as to why Akh left the hot girl with the Hittites.]] The Hittite King chuckled. What a work of art she was -- even for an Egyptian. And there was something so...satisfying, about putting Egyptian women in their place. It wasn't the fact they had power that the King hated -- it was the fact they were so arrogant with it. That cow of a Queen may have been able to deny him, thanks to that husband protecting her. But this 'Ipy' received no such protection. Because although Akhenaten wanted to stick it in her, he wasn't as stupid as to waste resources sticking up for her. With one rusty finger, the King beckoned the dancer forward, a seemingly pleasant smile on his face. "Come come, little thing," he said. "I won't bite." That last part was a lie. He was very much into biting.

Ipy felt bile rise in her throat. She swallowed it and reluctantly and slowly stepped forward. "Yes,King?" He was so...disgusting. She felt her stomach churn. The Pharaoh was much more pleasant than this. She decided to ask "Do you wish to request a dance?"instead of telling him what she thought of him. Teshup laughed -- so did his men. Only the ones closest to him mind you. His son, his adviser, his general. Unlike his father, he wasn't just a brute -- he had taken a page out of Nefertiti's book, and was also good at manipulating. He tutted and shook his head. "No...well, I suppose, yes. It's a kind of dance. You perform it in my bedroom. In my bed. I have a part in it, too." He sat back in his chair, waiting for her rejection and her Egyptian arrogance to show. He wanted the sheer pleasure of shooting that down.

Teshup sighed and smiled. He didn't look angry. No, anger wasn't the way he did things. He simply shrugged.
"Fine, your choice. I guess I'll need to take your sister then as an alternative," he said. "Or mother, or daughter, or sweet old dad or something -- everyone has a weakness, there's something that'll make everyone tick." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a single golden coin and started to toss it in the palm of his hand. It was a redundant form of currency now -- a simple thing given to him by his father and within it's engravings a lesson, which was that a King, always got what he wanted.
"Won't take me long till I find them."

(I'm stupid. Sorry. I was looking for the Pharaoh and thought rhat response was to someone else. Help. Im brain dead today.) Ipy felt her blood freeze. this disgusting pig. "My family is dead without bodies recovered. This would be a whole different set of issues if you were to find them." she tried to joke. Her heart hammered in her chest. Her palms beaded with sweat. She wished more than anything that the Pharaoh were here. He would have helped her. But alas she was on her own. She always had been so she should have been used to it. Her parents had died seven years ago and were never found, that much was true. And she had PURPOSELY hidden her sister away and never let her leave for that very reason. Lilystar88 [[lol m8 don't even worry about it. This time, he was getting just a little bit annoyed, the sparks of anger and irritation threatening to overcome the way he looked at the dancer. He stood up, but not before gesturing with his and to the man sitting to his side, which was his general, to grab Ipy's wrist to keep her there. In a way, the general had a claim to the Egyptian Throne -- he had married Akhenaten's second born. And, if the rumours were to be true, his firstborn was a brigand, so she may soon be banished and the first in line would be an individual under Teshup's command. Oh, what it would be to rule Egypt. But unfortunately, Akhenaten was doing this annoying little thing called not dying. But that could change. "So the only one you care about then would be Pharaoh?"

For a few moments Turo simply stared at the massive man, he was talking too fast and Turo had always struggled with Greek, but he just nodded along anyways. He took the rope and lightly put it back on It mans wrist so it looked like he was still cuffed. “Like you are still trapped.” He explained simply with s decisive nod, trying his best to help, wishing he knew more Greek. Chrysanthos quietly nodded, settling back against the cage again, his eyes half shut from exhaustion. ‘I’ll be stronger when the sun is up- he shouldn’t come to us until morning anyway.’ He softly murmured, speaking notably slower so that Turo could understand him better. After a while passed, he looked over at him to see if he was awake. ‘Could you teach me a little of your language?’ He softly asked.

[[Yeah I can do that. We could throw in a ransom/hostage situation if that suits? Or not I'm cool with w/e]]
Teshup sighed. Again, with the lies. It's all she seemed to do. If she cared little about Pharaoh, she would have milked him for everything he had -- which means she wouldn't have been wearing a dancer's uniform, she would be wearing the bangles of a lesser royal wife.
But it wasn't what held her loyalty, no. She was definitely hiding something. But she really wasn't the one he cared about -- no. Egyptian women? He could find one if he wanted one. Hell, he'd had Meketaten a few times alone. This wasn't about women, but about men. Or particularly, one man, who he wanted a bit more control over.
"You know what, Ipy....it was Ipy, wasn't it? I'm not going to sleep with you, if that's what you want. But I'm afraid, irregardless, you're not getting home tonight."
With one click of his fingers, his general seized the girl and gestured for a few others to come and help restrain her as they rolled her into a linen sheet -- it was the best way to immobilize someone.

Cleopatra looked at the man skeptically. "How am I supposed to believe anything you say? The queen has our best interests in hand and hasn't showed sign of mistrustful behavior." Honestly, she didn't know what to believe. These past few days.. well a lot had gone on and her mind was still trying to process all of it. They would have to move quickly now. A girl screaming and thrashing around was going to attract attention, so Teshup clicked his fingers and suddenly the girl was bound in ropes as well. That should hold her for a while, Teshup thought but still, he moved quickly out the room of the 'party' -- followed by his general and son, and then the rest of his men. They shuffled down the hall like a group of bandits, trying to hurriedly carry the girl from darkened halls to the shadow of the main corridor. He made it to the side room without too many looks. But that led to another corridor and before he reached the guest quarters...
"Your majesty!" Teshup announced, smiling just a bit too widely for the situation he'd been put in. Nefertiti was looking at him with too much suspicion now.
"Your majesty," she murmured. "I had just come to visit my daughter -- seeing as she spends all her time with you now. What is..?"
"A slave," Teshup quickly replied. "More trouble than it was worth."
By the gods dancer, don't wake up he prayed -- knowing the Queen was still standing there -- questioning the truth about what he was doing.

Pah!" he exclaimed, running his hands up and down the bars as he glared at her, looking her up and down as if she was a beggar. "For that...grievous lie, I'm telling you the truth! And the danger that goes along with it, is yours to suffer." His mouth twisted into a smile. For he knew that many jews who knew this had died, by Nefertiti's hand too. And he most certainly would be killed also. "Many years ago, when Akhenaten took the Queen as a wife, and elevated her to Great Royal Wife -- the most honored position a Queen can achieve, she sought wisdom from many prophets and soothsayers. One by one, the prophets of Isis and Horus and Set -- your false gods -- came to her and prophesied of the great sons she would have -- ones called Thutmose and Amenhotep." "Yet, one of them, one of our god, told her the truth. He told her she was a reverse Leah -- cursed, to only have daughters. No heir would be given by her blood." The assassin chuckled, shrugging slightly. "You could imagine this knowledge displeased her. But even the most displeasing prophecy is treated with respect, in our land." His expression turned dark again. "She murdered my brother, and buried his bones somewhere in this disgraceful land. I merely want them returned to me again."
