Chatter, Chatter Chatter, went the lively LeBlanc Cafe on what seemed to be a lively nice day. The chatter consisted of students, employees, and casual day customers. In the background was the sound of dishes colliding from behind the counter. Between the chatter was typing, whether it be a traditional laptop or a touch screen laptop. Along the row of tables sitting against the far wall, Marvin had taken the fourth table from the door. He had seated himself on the end adjacent to the door. On the counter, he had his laptop tilted to his left side, so his occupied green eyes could glimpse up towards the door which opened and closed every so often. On the right end of the table, he had several articles, and papers overlapping in an unorganized matter. His fingers continued to slide along his keyboard, as his head turned constantly from right, monitor, to door. Though he agreed to meet with his friend, and perhaps still not exactly their meeting time, the excitement was slightly killing him on the inside. After so much research, we finally may have an actual lead! He considered now, working his hardest to keep a straight face. A waitress had approached his table, asking if her were ready to order, but he kindly declined mentioning that he was waiting for a friend before ordering anything. Alone once again he proceeded to skim through the papers and his monitor. He now moved one hand away from the keyboard to shuffle through the papers. If I only gave school this much dedication... To keep himself occupied from excitement, he lightly tapped his heals below the table, his vans making a soft sound, or at least he imagined to be hearing sounds. As his head continued to move between his divided attention, strands of his mid long black hair fell out of place. It wasn't such a big deal until the rest of his hair coupled behind his right ear fell out of place, entirely covering his right eye. He stopped now, leaning back on his seat to shrug as he removed his two hands from everyone on the counter to adjust all the hair that had fallen out of place. Maybe I do need a haircut? He considered, now. Typically Marvin would brush all the hair back, with a small portion to create a bang to the side, but today he just didn't feel in the mood to do anything with his hair. So in result he just randomly brushed, and coupled the rest of his hair behind his right ear once again. πππ'π'ππππ

Feeling the heels of his shoes clack against the pavement, Asuka let out a hum unraveled his headphones and pushed each bud into his ears. The sun was shining and almost incredulously hot, and the brunette lifted a hand over his eyes to shield them from the harsh luminosity. His reflection followed him as he moved, his eyes studying the names of each building as he casually strode along. People bundled past him, briefly touching shoulders with him and brushing sleeves as they made their own ways to their individual destinations.
Asuka allowed his mind to wander as he walked, still scanning the store signs for the cafe that his friend had mentioned. What was it, again? He stopped in the middle of the walk as he realized with a shiver of panic that the name of the cafe had already slipped his mind. People scowled at him as they squeezed past him, and the boy murmured apologizes as he attempted to get out of people's way by stepping closer to the window of the nearby restaurant. To his pleasant surprise- and, luck, he realized that said friend was on the other side of the glass. In his rushed excitement, Asuka felt the strong impulse to smash his fists against the glass; but managed to hold back and instead scurried to the front door, taking a quick moment to glance up at the name. Cafe Leblanc.
The door swung open with relative ease as he walked in, embracing the feeling of the cold air hitting his face with a dopey smile before drifting to Marvin's table with a wave, pulling his earphones out. "I was having a hard time finding this place," he admitted with a sheepish grin, scratching his cheek with mild embarrassment. "You know me and my mouse memory, I can't remember anything important."

((Thank goodness for the zoom in button))
It was almost time, and still no sign of Asuka. Marvin inhaled deeply, releasing his breath through the form of a heavy shrug. Did he? He wondered now rethinking about this. After a brief moment of hesitation, he shifted his body towards the right where his messenger bag rested. Slowly he pulled over the top flap, then reached in with his hand. Then he hesitated once again. N-No I shouldn't be that one person... He knows we're meeting here, yea! He'll be here a few minutes late. He glimpsed over at his laptop screen, at the same time his hand retrieved the phone.
I-It wouldn't hurt to text him... He now considered, transferring his attention from the laptop to his phone. Unlocking his phone, he slid his finger across the screen pulling up messenger. Still hesitating, he reluctantly made his way for Asuka's thread. Then he's going to think i'm a nagger.... ugh He was torn between messaging and just waiting it out. In the past it usually always turned out the same way. Asuka zoning out, appearing a few minutes after, then moving on. Yet this time... They had the information they had been delving into, and to just let that slide, was it really that not important? He shook his head now disagreeing to his reconsideration of value towards their meeting today. Right, I'll just remind him His eyes shifted back and forth between the phone, and the table counter. Reluctantly he began typing on the screen, only to find himself repeatedly erasing what he was planning on writing. Just hey? Start up the conversation, or be like don't forget? Torn even further he gave up, resting the phone on the counter. I'll wait! He never stands me up, never! Distracted easily, but he sticks through!
The door had swung open, his eyes fully glued to the individual who casually entered. Asuka! He relaxed now, his internal struggle dying instantly. At the same time, his stiffening relaxed, as he sunk into his seat. In silence he nodded to his companion, watching him take his seat. My mess! He realized now reaching for the other end of the table, bringing the scattered papers to the equivalent of a stack or two. "Don't worry about it!" He excitedly stated, while pushing the papers off to a corner, then tilted the laptop 45 degrees so that their only other witness would be the wall. "I'm just glad you didn't get lost. Last thing you need is a lost child report." He lightly joked, swallowing the last of his anxiety. "Nonetheless, you want something?" He curiously asked pushing off the topic briefly to recuperate himself, before jumping back into it. "Don't worry I'm buying." he assured, sliding out a gift card from underneath the laptop.

it looked bigger on my chromebook T_T
Asuka waved at Marvin before smoothly sliding into the chair opposite of him. He blinked at the mess of papers scattered around the table, dumbfounded at the quantity that his friend possessed. Genuinely surprised by the amount of work the other put into this, he skimmed the papers whose sides were font-up, though was unable to decipher what any of it meant. Asuka was never really one who thought with his brain; his grades could back up that claim. He was too air-headed and impulsive for critical thinking, so he left all that up to his friend. Even though he was incredibly scatter-brained not the brightest academic-wise, he was incredibly astute, able to analysis situations with relative ease. It wasn't something he actively did, though, it just happened. And so it made the pair a formidable duo of both logic and instinct.
He tilted his head at Marvin as the boy gathered up all the papers, neatly stacking them before pushing them aside. Smiling a little at his joke, Asuka let out a soft laugh. "You'd have a great time if I did, though," he replied, setting his chin on the palm of his hand as he spoke. "Detective Marvin! You'd manage to track me down." Asuka's voice was warm, indicting the good-nature of his teasing. Asuka watched him push his laptop around, but was much more interested in the card that Marvin was holding. "Can I get anything?" Asuka pressed, giddy at the idea of free coffee. Free coffee meant free caffeine, and that meant free energy. Despite his considerably energetic personality, Asuka was lacking in natural energy reserves. If he didn't keep up with his awful caffeine addiction, he was prone to falling asleep and being irritable. And he felt incredibly guilty whenever that side of him came out; the cantankerous, cynical side, thus explaining his caffeine addiction.

((LOL It's fine!))
"Yes whatever comes to your hearts content." Marvin replied, as he placed the gift card back on the counter. He turned his head, to scout out the waitress, or any server for the matter. Yet alas, it appeared all servers were busy, typical... He shrugged now unlocking his phone then returned his full attention to Asuka. "I'm going to order it online, then i'll get it from the counter." He stated opening up LeBlanc's app. "What do you want?" He asked raising a brow, as his right hand dedicated itself to the phone. On the other end, his left hand hovered over the mouse pad, pulling up a tab with screen shot of google maps. What made this screen shot unique, was color coding markings: X, check mark, circles, lines, and arrows, everywhere on the layout. "Detective huh?" He now replied in interest. "That would certainly be cool, but who other then family and myself would truly be desperate to find ya?" He raised a brow at the thought. Perhaps it was stepping out of line, but there ties in friendship was pretty deep that they would shrug it off regardless.
After a brief moment, he returned his full attention to the laptop's screen. "Right, so all these papers can be disregarded because I did you the liberty of putting everything in this map." He spoke clearly to start getting his point across. "The circles indicate rumor sightings of unusual activities." He then hovered a figure towards a check mark, "These indicate news overages based on the rumors, of course no confirmations because rumors are obviously rumors." He then pointed over towards the X's. "These X's indicate deaths or near death experiences." He added now, a few of them overlapping with check marks. Lastly he hovered his finger along various arrows that connected one place to another. "These arrows indicate the distance between hot spots. As you can see, they sorta form under a line of networks, or like a hidden street in plain site. SOme go off the route, but most of them occur in the same distance, areas or like similar enivornments to other sightings." He added now. His eyes would ocasionally glimpse over towards his companion. "With this we can pinpoint an estimate of where the next site or more may be occurring." He spoke indirectly, just in case anyone may be listening. But clearly everyone was too much in their own world to listen, but still just in case.

i cant believe im still awake asgfhjkl
"Ah, you're the best!" his excited voice reverberated loudly in the small cafe, though no one seemed to pay the giddy boy much mind. Asuka eagerly waved one of the waitresses over, half listening to his friend as he droned about something a long the lines of 'x's and checks and rumors', Asuka wasn't really quite sure. What he was sure about was that he was going to get a nice coffee. And he didn't even have to pay! Sure he wasn't really entirely sure what the hell his friend was passionately rambling to him, but he supported him nonetheless. If Marvin told him to stick his hand in a very questionable hole, he would do it with no questions asked.
A nearby waitress quickly scurried over to Asuka, smiling slightly at the boy's enthusiasm. "What can I get for you?" her voice was honey-smooth, and she slowly smoothed the ruffles in her outfit with her free hand. Asuka simply smiled back at her, his own brown eyes warm. "I'll take a coffee," he buzzed with poorly-disguised happiness, and she gave a quick nod to him before leaving to get his drink. Realizing that his friend was still talking, Asuka glanced back at him and hummed, trying to seem like he had been definitely paying attention to what Marvin had been throwing at him. "So then we check it out, right?"

πππ'π'ππππHad he been too indirect of his words? Marvin blankly blinked watching as his friend successfully ordered coffee without much effort. Almost too charming.. He thought to himself, yet one thing was out of the way and that was Asuka's daily coffee. "Right!." He cleared his throat now, "We sure as heck will be checking out these places." He replied reassuringly. "Tonight's the full moon, and based on what we have gathered." Okay maybe I "It's safe the assume that tonight is one of the strongest nights to encounter the paranormal. As to whether well I can't really assure that." He shrugged now, his excitement declining. I mean we been looking up these articles, rumors, and leaks to find any entry way to hell. We want to know more about these demons, and they are just awesome! But what if this just ends up being for nothing? He silently pulled up another tab, this time a demonology wiki, "We just need to be cautious. whether we find what we're looking for, or people with the wrong influence, we need to be just careful." He warned, "But while we hang out here we can just relook at the various types of attributes and how they bait their victims." He suggested. His voice wasn't as excited as it was from the start. It was that hint of pesimistic that stepped in. Hopefully Asuka snaps me out of it. He always has my back, but maybe he might think that all of this is a waste of time? N-No he wouldn't he was and still is just as excited! "right, so we can probably head over to the cemetery, or check the old side of town. Either one would work, they are old, usually abandoned or least frequented and probably crawling with bad energy because of past conflicts in many of those areas." He suggested , while scrolling through various attribute pages. "We either rise reborn, or die some happy fools." Marvin lightly joked.

The waitress quickly returned with the boy's coffee, and Asuka cheerfully took it from her, warming his hands with the coffee cup. He blinked at Marvin as he spoke, trying his best to follow along despite not really understanding much of what he was talking about. "We have to check cemeteries?" he whined, though his tone was light and joking. Bringing his coffee up to his lips, he took a quick sip of the bitter drink, a sound of content escaping his mouth as he placed the cup onto the table. "Do you think we'll really find demons?" his voice was inquiring; curious. Though he trusted his friend, he wasn't entirely convinced of the existence of supernatural creatures. Thoughts along those lines completely went over his head, being much too complicated for him to really grasp. Even so, he was ready to support his friend whole-heartedly. And if that meant going demon hunting, then hell, he was going to go demon hunting. aghh this is really short apologizes,, writing a writeup and wanted to at least get something spat out :c Auransky

πππ'π'ππππ((I been under the weather. ;-; So I apologize for not replying sooner)) ((Also a thought crossed my mind. What if during the full moon we have the Dark Hour [Persona 3] but it's here where demons non fused with humans cross in massive numbers looking for a host? That's where these cult groups are just like "Come to us blah blha blah" )) ((Doesn't mean demons don't pop up other nights, it just makes full moon like easier since the door is literally opened.)) Marvin couldn't help but laugh now, seeing Asuka grow in excitement with a coffee at hand. That was almost comparable to ice cream after school in elementary. Yet that died down when his friend asked about cemeteries, I overdid it? He raised a hand, waving it freely in the air sideways, "Not necessary. The working district works just as fine. But this is only based on all the information that we have composed together." He clarified. "If ice cream shops were constantly targeted or center of rumors, we'd probably be at an ice cream parlor tonight." Wait, did I really just say that because I was thinking of ice cream? Ugh, now i'm in the mood for ice cream! "If things get too creepy we just bail and try again some other time. Worst comes to worst we just give up call it a day." He returned his attention towards his laptop. "These sightings are common between the hours of 11pm - 3am." He scrolled through another tab which opened up to Word Exel. It had days of the week, moon phases, and time stamps. "It's gonna basically be an all nighter." He shrugged, "But you're good with coffee so it shouldn't even matter." He gave his friend a thumbs up. "I'm sure we'll find them! Something, even if we catch the tail end." He added positively. "Or a video, videos work too." He now considered the alternative.

omg sorry for the late response myself T_T
also that sounds fun, yes! is there a special hour the demons appear, or is it night-long?
The boy took the cup back into his hands, warming them with a satisfied hum. "I should be okay," he agreed with a nod. "Though what about you? Will you be able to stay up all night?" Asuka questioned with a blink, moving one hand from the cup to brush back a stray strand of hair that was sticking up. "And I wish we could be at an ice cream parlor.." the boy exaggerated a sigh, leaning back into his chair as he took a quick sip of his drink. "I could go for some mint chip. And strawberry!" Asuka's grin once again appeared on his face, the thought of ice cream causing him to bubble with joy.
The boy stretched out his legs under the table, his brown eyes resting softly on his friend. "Do you have a camera?" he asked, interested. Would demons even show up on a recording? He pictured them ghost-like; spectral, yet horned. Of course he had never seen a demon before, but it couldn't hurt to let his imagination run wild. That made the whole thing even more fun - maybe they were the size of Tokyo, or even as small as rabbits. Could demons speak human language? Before he had realized, Asuka had completely zoned out, lost in his own imagination.

πππ'π'ππππ((I would have replied 30 minutes back, but I was flooded with reports throughout every inch of the forums. ;-; Thankfully no real issues, just move a thread, move this back, necroposted etc)) ((Well I was thinking that demons can appear all night long. They can also appear during the day, but they want to hide in plain sight. Unless they have no morals, care, or issues about that. But this dark hour would be a gate that between the hours of midnight to one on a full moon, they can more freely travel across dimensions in hordes. Similar to opening time at an amusement park: open the gate and everyone flies in right away etc)) ((It would be during full moon, when this gate opens to the fullest. Otherwise during other nights they just come in small quantities or solo etc)) Marvin leaned forward with a smug smile, "Of course you'll be okay, you're Asuka the mighty!" He joked with a minor laugh, as his fingers tapped against the table counter lightly. He was going to follow up but his friend basically threw him under the bus. "W-What me?" He leaned back on his seat, "Will I be able to stay up?" He tilted his head at the thought. "Will I?" He blinked, "Hmmm...." He thought, "Well I wont be you that's for sure, but I'm certain a night or three wont kill me." he admitted now. "Besides studying in college is all about staying up late, right?" He raised a curious brow at the thought. "Late night studying parties. Sitting at a table with a million laptops and netflix distractions." he considered. Pushing back to the topic, Marvin gave Asuka a rather scolding look, "Well I'm sorry for picking the wrong place. But last time I checked you're the coffee addict. You gotta start your day with coffee, otherwise you don't function at all." He recalled. "But maybe coffee ice cream would be just as a good substitute?" He wondered now. "S-Stop talking about flavors!" Marvin's face lit up in desire. He was in the mood for ice cream too because of his stupid metaphor. Now he and Asuka were in the mood. UGH Why are you doing this... no this was my fault"I do have a camera." Marvin boasted, or at least tried to boast in his tone. It was sounding more like a retorical response if not much else. "But for a demon not to show up on a camera? I think you're getting that confused with ghosts are something." He frowned briefly, "But my thermal camera extension arrived yesterday. So just in case we find demons to be like ghosts we can track them through heat signatures." he added now. "But the size of a demon." He now pondered along the table counter. "A massive, or small..." He trailed off. "If it's big it might crush us, but then again if it was always massive wouldn't it have killed us or all of us by now?" He questioned, then a grin grew across his face, "What if we're dead? Conspiracy theory at its finest!" He laughed to himself, though maybe Asuka would dismiss it. Maybe... "Anyways where do you wanna go look tonight? Spooky cemetery or abandoned building?"

oh jeez that doesnt sound like much fun :C maybe demons are sensitive to light without a host and thats why they cant really come out during the day time? and those that are out and about during the day have a human body to control : o sorry if the quality's gone down T_T im doing work at the same time Auransky The boy grinned in response at his friend's light teasing, leaning forward himself. "Only mighty after I get some energy in my system," he added with a sheepish shrug. Asuka watched his friend flounder for a moment in an attempt to come up with a reply for his question, and he suppressed the urge to smile with amusement. He didn't want his friend to get the idea that he was making fun of him, but it was still charming to see his friend flustered over whether or not he could keep up with him when the whole thing that they were gearing up for was his idea. "If you get tired, I have a spare energy drink in my bag," he offered, flashing a quick thumbs up. "I don't let just anyone have my super important energy drinks, you know!" he laughed, showing off white teeth. Asuka's leg bounced under the table in a unconscious tic as he took another drink of his coffee, the brown liquid warming his insides. "So they aren't like ghosts?" the brunette questioned, giving his friend an incredulous look. "And you have a thermal extension? That's so cool!" Asuka beamed at Marvin, genuinely awed at the technology that his friend now possessed. "You can see people through walls with that, right? You could spy on anyone you wanted to." His imagination starting to run wild again, the boy's hand went to his chin in a familiar tic of his. "But that could also be super creepy," he said, though it sounded like he was talking to himself. "Ah! Sorry," Asuka's face reddened as he realized he had veered off topic again. "Abandoned building sounds less scary. I vote abandoned building."

πππ'π'ππππ((LOL Don't apologize on your posts. It's fine, perfectly just fine)) "Hey, even without that energy, you can be pretty out there." Marvin interjected with his point of view. He had calmed down entirely from his little internal fun fest of ice cream, excitement, and being basically called out. I'll get him back for sure! He considered, Don't know when and how, but i'll get him back.. He schemed to himself. He couldn't help but gasp now, in a jokingly manor, "Why Asuka, I'm really flattered! But that drink supply can only be stretched so thin. It would be a waste for someone of my structure." He politely yet jokingly played along, resting a hand against his chest to exaggerate his feelings. He couldn't help but lean back to glimpse under the table, yep his friend was clearly energized. Returning his brief distraction from under the table back to his friend he smiled. "I can't really answer that." He admitted, "I mean if they are, or aren't we haven't seen them. So the likelyhood is out there." He admitted now. "But.." He shivered now at Asuka's growing naughty excitement. "You're missing the entire point of a thermal camera." He shrugged, only to briefly snort, "It can't see beyond walls. This isn't superman. Rather it reads everything in colors, which labeled help us identify the intensity of something being hot or cold. Whether it be a living thing or some object, or area." He added now. "we can meet at the bus station in a little bit. It would give me time to go home pick up the camera, and drop off all this paper." He picked up a stack and waved it around. "Or you can go on ahead to the business district and wait by the station. Either that or start exploring the various buildings to decide which one we check out first." He almost paused, snapping his fingers instantly, "You can either scout ahead or we can go to my place together to prep. Whichever works is fine by me. So long as you don't get yourself into trouble on your lonesome."
