AquaLuxSuch a creative title, I know xD Anyway, for the princess/assassin one I was thinking we could start a little while after the princess has been sent away and the assassin is just getting his assignment. For the runaway bride, maybe we start at the wedding and then go back? Or maybe we just start a little before and just go from there. Before we get going I'll probably post some very brief descriptions of my characters unless you want to full character forms. I'm fine with describing in rp too it just helps me to have a basic idea of what my own characters look like. Especially when they're new ones.

Most creative title I've ever laid eyes on, XD Much better than I could do too
Starting there sounds good to me for the princess/assassin plot. Also, I'm thinking that my princess character does have some training in weaponry and self-defence. I'm not that into the stereotypical princess, who just sits around and looks pretty but is pretty much useless for everything else. I'm thinking that maybe her father is extremely overprotective and as such tried to keep her as safe and sheltered as possible, even forbidding her to wield even the most basic of weapons. But the princess, seeing the situation from a more logical standpoint(the fact that her kingdom was at war/on the verge of war), decided she needed to learn how to defend herself and therefore started training in secret. This would all have taken place before she was sent away, so which is why she'd have some experience with using weapons. I wouldn't say she's an expert with them, but she can at least keep herself and a few others alive if she needs to.
Hmm, maybe a little before the wedding? And if the groom's female friend was a factor as to why the bride leaves him, how should that work? Does the bride just feel threatened by the friend? Or maybe she saw something and mistook it for cheating(neither the groom or the friend would have intentionally done anything to upset the bride, in this case)? Or maybe the female friend decided she was going to try and sabotage the marriage and intentionally made a move on the groom. I personally don't picture this female friend as being a mean character, but she can be one for the sake of stirring up trouble if we want her to.
Hmm, maybe stick to short and sweet character descriptions? I don't know about you, but when I make forms for my characters, they either end up quite short or horrendously long if I let the creativity flow freely, haha. There's no in-between. Character descriptions are one of my favourite parts of roleplaying, so I'll probably type up small ones for now and expand on them later as I see fit.

I approve of your non-stereotypical princess. Especially because my guy will be expecting a stereotypical princess and then he'll just have his lil' mind blown, haha. I am now officially going to rp the guard who helped her train (if that's alright with you). It'll at least give her someone to rp with before she and the assassin meet up.
Before I answer those questions, I have another one. Are we going to have the bride and groom trying to rebuild their relationship? Now that I think about it I'm not sure what else we would do, haha. But maybe you had another idea?
Short and sweet to start sounds good for me! And yeah I'm in the same boat with forms being either very short or ridiculously long, haha. It's a problem.

Yes, that's exactly the kind of interaction I want between our princess and assassin, XD She won't appreciate him underestimating her at all, haha. And it's perfectly fine for you to RP the guard who trained her! Those two would have a pretty tight-knit bond as well, I'm thinking? Like maybe a brother-sister, or father-daughter thing(depending on how much older he is).
Hmm, them rebuilding their relationship would be the most cliche option, but it would also be fun. Then again, if they both come to the mutual decision that maybe marriage was never the best thing for the two of them and they decide to just be friends... well, that could be interesting too. Maybe we can just start RPing it and see where it goes? It's not the most reliable way, but making the choice beforehand and then realizing the other option may have been better is worse, in my opinion, XD
Alright! I'll get working on those right away then. I already have a name for my princess character(mostly because she's a partially pre-established character I started a while back). She's Ardenia Versula. As for my groom character, I'm debating between a few different names. Oliver, Jason, Adrian, and Rhys(pronounced as 'rise') stand out the most to me.

Sorry for disappearing!
He'll probably be her age-ish. Perhaps a little older. Anything else we need to figure out for this one? I don't have names for the kingdoms so yeah that's totally fine with me. I can come up with a name for the other one.
I agree. Let's just see what happens! So we'll start a week or so before the wedding. Also I think I want the groom's female friend and the bride to be friends. Or at least they're on good terms. Does that work for you? When I said maybe the female friend was part of the reason the bride runs away I was just throwing something out there, I didn't feel like it needed to happen. And since you said that the female friend isn't a mean person then maybe it would make sense for the two of them to also be friends.
I will get my characters going too! The side characters will probably be shorter, but we'll see. The bride is going to be Zinnia and the Assassin is going to be Akyrum (I think). Side character names TBD.

Ardenia and Rhys are turning out to be a bit longer than I anticipated, sorry, XD Nothing too bad though. I may wait on that female friend though and describe her mostly through RP.
Alright, sounds good to me! I think once I get my characters up, we can start this one off!
Yeah, it's perfectly fine for them to be friends! I was just going along with the potential idea, in case we wanted to use it. Anyway, I don't have much for her at the moment like I said, but I'll try to come up with a name soon, haha.
Those names are nice! I especially love Zinnia, it sounds so pretty! I think I've heard it before somewhere, actually...

Here are my two main characters for both plots. I actually meant for them to be shorter, but this works too. It could have been worse, XD
|| Ardenia Versula || Female || 19 Years Old || || Ardenia is the sole heiress to the Versula bloodline, the royal family that presides over the kingdom of Versulam. Poised, elegant, and proper, she is everything one would expect from a princess. On the outside, that is. Ardenia presents herself as the picture-perfect royal heiress to those she has to seem that way to, but the moment the eyes are off of her, she becomes the feisty, intelligent and willful young woman that only a handful of people know. || || She's got very dark brown hair, appearing almost straight black in dim lighting. While it used to be quite long, she has since cut it short so it comes little past her shoulders - doing this to hopefully avoid being recognized while on the road. She has pretty blue eyes and a skin tone that's almost like porcelain. Since leaving the palace she calls home, she has taken to dressing like common folk, and has adopted an alias for when interaction is unavoidable, calling herself Arlina. ||
|| Rhys Northcott || Male || 23 Years Old || || Rhys comes from a family of three kids, being the eldest himself. His father is the CEO of a small business, and he is set to inherit it from him at a later date. He was raised to be business savvy and to know how to assess situations and people based on their worth, but much to his father's disappointment, never showed much interest in taking on the family business. Despite growing up with such expectations on his shoulders, Rhys remained kind and down to earth - mostly because he chose to surround himself with those kinds of people, instead of the people his father wanted him to acquaint himself with. || || He's one to take care of his appearance, not because he's self-centered, but because he just thinks it's best to always look presentable. His hair is neatly cut, on the short side and is honey blond in colour. It does have a bit of natural curl to it though, refusing to stay straight. His eyes are a warm brown, with a pale skin tone. He dresses in a casual-formal way - more casual than formal, and somehow always looks impeccable. ||

Eeek sorry, I'm trying to hurry, I just keep getting pulled away to do things Dx
By the way, I think I've decided that the reason Zinnia panics and backs out of the wedding is because of Rhys's father's expectations for him (in the future) and then by extension her.

Ok I think I'm finally done! There are enough of the basics there to work off of anyway)
|| Akyrum (Ah-keer-um) (Might add a last name if I think of a good one)|| Male || 20 || || Akyrum typically keeps to himself and watches what’s going on around him. Whether that’s because of his profession or his personality is hard to say. He doesn’t speak much unless he’s with people he knows well. Unless he is very comfortable with someone, he keeps his thoughts and emotions guarded. He rarely smiles, but he doesn’t usually have much to smile about. Akyrum wants to be more carefree and open about himself, but feels that he can’t because of obvious reasons. Being an assassin doesn’t exactly make you well-liked. || || Akyrum is relatively tall (6’ 2’’) with a lithe and agile build. As an assassin, he relies more on stealth, speed and precision than brute strength so his build can be used to his advantage. He has fluffy, platinum blonde hair that is usually messily spiked, but more often than not it is hidden beneath a hood. His eyes are an icy shade of blue that let no emotion through (I’m a poet and didn’t know it xD).
|| Zinnia Williams || Female || 22 || || Zinnia is a young woman who recently graduated from college with degrees in art and elementary education. Art has been her passion since she was young, and teaching art classes for elementary students seemed like a great way for her to continue her art without living the life of a starving artist. While she is very practical most of the time, Zinnia does allow herself to have fun and can be very outgoing and spontaneous. Having grown up with such a different background from Rhys occasionally makes her nervous. She feels like his father doesn’t approve of her though she tries not to let it show.|| || Zinnia has reddish-brown hair that hangs down to the middle of her back in slight waves. The red in her hair mainly comes out in bright light or when she is in the sun. Typically she wears her hair down or in half-up hairstyles. Her eyes are a pretty hazel – they are primarily green with brown flecks – and are framed by long eyelashes. Her skin is fair but often has a slight tan as she loves spending time outside. ||

(Me too! Sorry it took so long, haha. I think we're good to go! I'll do a starter for Akyrum since he's kind of off on his own at this point and maybe you can do one with Ardenia? And then I'll throw the guard in with her. Where do you want to start Zinnia and Rhys? Maybe at lunch or something? Or we could do Zinnia and the female friend? Oh also if it's good with you, I think I'm gonna add a horribly obnoxious female character who wants to split Rhys and Zinnia up. I'm thinking she can plant the seed that all of Zinnia's insecurities about the marriage come from. Also drama.)

( Good, good! Here's Ardenia's starter! )
It was early morning. Ardenia had found herself awake earlier than what was typical, so she'd decided to head out and track down a water source. Luckily, there was one close by, so she didn't have to go very far from the abandoned shack they'd stumbled upon late last night. Of course, when they had set out a little while ago, they'd packed provisions, but she and her companions needed to eat and drink. Those things didn't last forever. Making sure the hood of her cloak was pulled up, Ardenia crouched down next to a small river and proceeded to collect some water to go with whatever breakfast was in store.

"Rise," came the king's voice from the throne Akyrum was kneeling in front of. He stood silently and looked up at the man on the throne as he continued to speak. "I assume you know why you are here." "I can make a pretty good guess," Akyrum replied cooly, clasping his hands in front of him. He had worked for the king of Hyden several times in the past but had never been summoned directly to the throne room. Not that it mattered to him. A job was a job. He did find it slightly odd that the only other person in the room was the king's steward. "Your target is a female around the age of 19. Her name is Ardenia and she is traveling with a small band of guards for protection." The king stood and held out a hand and his steward handed him some papers. "Here are the details. I want it done quietly, I want it done quickly. No one else it to know. If you are caught and you talk, I will have you killed. Understood?" Akyrum was only moderately insulted by the king's lack of faith in his skills but he thought it best to hold his tongue. "Understood, Your Grace." "Good. Now get out. I don't want to see your face until the job is done." With that, the king turned and disappeared through a door behind the throne followed quickly by his steward. "I'll just see myself out..." Akyrum mumbled as he turned and strode toward the exit to the throne room. Once outside, he took a closer look at the papers he'd been given. He thought the name had seemed familiar. Princess Ardenia was the heir to the throne of Versulam. No wonder the king wanted to keep this quiet. Pulling up his hood, he tucked the papers into a pocket. This would be easy. A princess and some guards were no match for him.
Laidon had the last shift of guard duty and was barely awake when Ardenia emerged from the shack that they had taken shelter in the night before. Grateful for something to do, he pushed himself off the rock he'd been sitting on and stretched before following Ardenia to the river. "Morning, Princess," he called as he approached. He crouched down next to the water and used his hands to splash some on his face. The cold water certainly helped wake him up. "You're up early," he observed, drying his face with a kerchief. (P.S. His name might change xD I don't hate it and I don't love it but I can't come up with one I like better)
===================
Zinnia, who had arrived early to the diner, was sitting at one of the tables by the window sketching on the corner of her napkin while she waited for Rhys. She'd spent the whole morning with her mother going over every last wedding detail to make sure that everything was accounted for and taken care of. It was fun, but also exhausting. Especially when they'd already done the same thing earlier in the week. Lunch with Rhys would be a nice break. Part of her just wanted the darn thing to be over so she could stop worrying about it.
(Sorry that took so long. I went a little crazy with Akyrum's)

Ardenia lifted the container from the river and twisted the cap back on. Then, she pulled another empty container out from a bag at her side and began filling that one as well. As she did this, she turned to Laidon, observing him as he splashed water to wake himself up. "I believe I can blame the birds for my sudden awakening," she replied, and then a note of irritation slipped into her voice, "the walls were thin and the birds were rather obnoxious. How anyone managed to sleep through it is beyond me." She always had been a light sleeper, ever since she was a young child...
=======================
Rhys pulled into an empty space in the parking lot of the diner where he and Zinnia had agreed to meet up for lunch. As he got out of the car and made his way toward the door, he spotted the woman in question through one of the many windows and grinned to himself. Of course she'd be there early. He wasn't surprised in the least. He came up behind her as quietly as he could while she was sketching on her napkin, and placed one of his hands upon her head, ruffling her hair playfully. "Have a good morning?" He asked abruptly, knowing how busy she had been lately. He slid into the seat across from her.
( It's all good! XD What I have here is probably the average amount I'll be doing for this. They may get longer as the RP goes on, though. )

It was only after she mentioned it that Laidon noticed the chirping of the birds. "Well tomorrow I'll try asking them to stay quite a little longer," he teased and pulled out his own water container to fill. They would be in a different place tomorrow, but the birds would probably still be singing there too. "Would it cheer you up to practice some sword work today?" he asked (or whatever weapon you want). Laidon enjoyed their training sessions as much as Ardenia did if not more. He'd been thrilled when she'd come to him asking for lessons. It had certainly made them closer friends.
============================
Zinnia jumped slightly when Rhys ruffled her hair which caused her to drag her pencil right through the middle of her sketch. "Rhys! You made me ruin my drawing," she complained, but she wasn't doing a very convincing job of looking upset about it. It hadn't been a masterpiece anyway. "I don't want to talk about my morning. Let's just say I'm glad to be here," she said in response to his question. She already thought about the wedding constantly. She didn't need to talk about it constantly too. "What about you? Were you with your father this morning?" Now that she was distracted from sketching, she remembered to drink the coffee she'd ordered while waiting. Coffee time was any time for Zinnia.
(This'll probably be average for me too. Time between posts will increase during the week though. School. Bleh.) Gah, I gotta crash. I have to get up kinda early tomorrow and it's after midnight. See ya tomorrow!)

"Haha, how very amusing," Ardenia returned sardonically, but mirth danced in her eyes, "you may as well ask the crickets to stop chirping in the evenings as well, in that case." She began filling her third container of water but was quickly distracted when he mentioned sword practice. Her eyes lit up fractionally, her eagerness to improve her sword skills becoming quite apparent. "Perhaps," she hedged, keeping her tone even. "It would cheer me up even more if I could actually win against you. One day you'll be the one on the ground, at the end of my blade." A smirk formed on her lips, but quickly vanished. "Maybe then Father will stop being so overbearing. I'm not made of glass."
==========================================
Rhys allowed a smirk to flash across his face briefly, before settling for a normal expression. "That bad, huh?" He asked sympathetically, "Well it's understandable at least. This a big deal. We'll only be doing this once." Hopefully, he added on in his mind, smiling to himself as he discarded the thought. At the mention of his father, the smile became a little less genuine. "Yeah, I was," Rhys replied, his eyes becoming a little distant as he recalled the conversation with his father earlier. The man had never outright opposed his relationship with Zinnia, but ever since they'd gotten engaged, his questions and comments pertaining to her had gotten increasingly more critical. He respected his father, but he drew the line when it came to his soon-to-be wife. "You know how he can be. He's blunt, but I know he means well." Was he trying to convince her, or himself? If he ever had to choose between his father and Zinnia, Rhys knew exactly what his choice would be.
( If my posts ever get too long, let me know, haha. Half the time I don't even realize what I'm doing until I stop and see that I've written like five paragraphs - sometimes more. When I get really into a roleplay, I tend to become so wrapped in the character's thought process and feelings that I sometimes double or triple the reply length of my partner, XD It's not that I want to prove that I can write more, it's just that I love my detail and whatnot and I just get carried away, XD Goodnight! I should probably sleep as well soon. Somehow it's 2am now, O.o )

(SOoooo I’m changing Laidon’s name to Cale. Hope that’s alright.)
Cale laughed and sat down in the grass. “Well with enough practice, It wouldn’t surprise me if that happened,” he said truthfully and took a drink from his water container. Ardenia was naturally talented with a blade, and now that they didn’t have to hide the lessons from her father, Cale guessed that her skill would improve much faster. The other guards had been horrified at first, but even they had to admit that training the princess to defend herself was a good idea in their current situation. “I know it’s frustrating, but I understand where your father is coming from. You’re his only daughter and the only heir to the throne. He just wants to protect you and the kingdom as best as he knows how.” Cale knew he was stating the obvious, but he figured it couldn’t hurt to hear it from someone else.
========================
"Yes, I'm sure he does," Zinnia replied with a nod. Rhys's father had always been pleasant with her, but she still felt like there was something about her he didn't like. She had some guesses as to what that might be, but she wasn’t going to voice those concerns now. If she’d made it this far without trouble, she figured maybe some of it was her imagination. The waiter came then to take their order. After he left, Zinnia took another sip of coffee and asked, “are we still having dinner with your parents tonight?” Dinner with Rhys’s parents had been a fairly regular occurrence during their relationship but it still always made her slightly nervous. There were so many opportunities for her to say the wrong thing which was something she’d been known to do more often than she cared to admit.
(I’m planning on having yet-to-be-named obnoxious female character crash the dinner. Well not really crash, but I think you get what I mean.)
(As to your comment on post length from earlier, I don't think it'll be a problem, haha. As I mentioned in the other thread, I would like to get better at writing longer replies. I've just always been afraid to commit to people who want an 'advanced' rp because I'm paranoid I won't be always able to keep up to their standards and I hate disappointing people. It's not that I can't do it, I just get impatient. I want the story to move quickly so I don't want to spend an hour replying xD)

( That's fine! ^^ )
Ardenia finally finished gathering up water, packing the last of the containers into the bag. They should be good for a couple days now, provided they went easy at it. She waved her hand almost dismissively, sitting down upon a nearby rock. "Yes, I've heard all this before," she sighed, and then clasped her hands together. "It's not that I don't understand that he's worried, or why. I just wish he'd not be so overbearing at times, is all. Ever since Mother passed away..." she fell silent, exhaling and sighing again. "Nevermind that. We should head back and start breakfast so we can move on from this place." They never stayed in one place too long - it was too dangerous. She really did miss the luxuries of living back home in the castle, but this in itself was a valuable learning experience. When she finally returned to her father, she would no doubt be that much wiser and enlightened.
==========================================
Rhys was aware of Zinnia's uncertainties, and it worried him some. He wanted her to feel accepted by his father, but he also knew full well that that would be impossible unless his father got over whatever issues he had with who he chose to spend his life with. At least his mother, Johanna, was kind, he thought to himself. The woman had smiled so warmly the first time she'd met Zinnia, a nice contrast to his father's cold, scrutinizing gaze. "I don't think there's been a change in plans," Rhys replied to her question about dinner, "I know my mom is looking forward to seeing you again. She absolutely adores you." At least there was that. He hoped his mother's warm personality could offset his father's cold one. Last time they'd had dinner, his mother hadn't been able to come, busy with work, so it had been just Rhys, Zinnia, and his father Adrian.
( Yeah, XD That's gonna be all sorts of interesting, haha. I can't wait! )
( That makes complete sense to me. I've just been on the opposite side of that before, where I've actually been told that I sometimes intimidate my RP partners with the length of my replies, O.O I really don't mean to type as much as I do half the time, and being told that is the worst feeling. I don't want people to feel intimidated by my writing or think I'm just trying to show off. It just happens sometimes. But honestly, that being said, at the same time I don't care if people can't or don't always match what I write. Really, why is everyone so obsessed with matching reply lengths? If you can reply to it, then why isn't it good enough? Whether it's over the top or short and to the point, why complain if it gets to what's important? Sorry, I just really don't agree with the whole 'matching post length' thing, XD )

(Haha I was also thinking that her mother shouldn’t be alive anymore but I didn’t want to write her backstory for you xD)
“You are right as always,” Cale teased, standing. He offered a hand to her with a smile and, once she was up, started walking back toward the camp. Eighteen guards had been sent with the princess initially, but part way through the journey two small groups had broken off in an attempt to confuse anyone who might follow. This left the princess with a guard of six men. The other five were now up and about packing up the camp and preparing the horses for the day’s journey. “With any luck we’ll make it to the border today,” he said glancing over at Ardenia. “Then it won’t be long before we reach Queen Elezanta.” The queen of Crovia was a trusted friend of the King and also happened to share a dislike of Hyden. She had agreed to hide Ardenia among her people until the danger had passed.
==========================================
Zinnia’s face lit up a the mention of Rhys’s mother. “Oh, I’m glad she will be joining us this time!” she exclaimed with a smile. Johanna had always made Zinnia feel welcome and was one of the few people in Zinnia’s life who appeared to support her art. She’d even gone as far as to ask Zinnia for a painting. “I’ll bring some of the sketches I’ve been working on for her painting. I want to make sure she likes it before I get too carried away.” Even her own parent’s weren’t thrilled that she had chosen to become an art teacher, but that had never fazed Zinnia. Of course this had lead to some slightly uncomfortable comments from her father regarding her decision to marry Rhys. He always joked she was just marrying him for the money, but she knew he truly was joking. Both of her parents were quite fond of Rhys.
(Ugh I don’t want to split them up now xD)
(omg someone understands! Haha I feel the exact same way. I don’t get why post-matching is such a huge deal. I mean, I’ll admit I usually don’t find it as fun to rp with people who write one sentence per post, but really not many people do that and that’s still not the end of the world.)

( Haha, wow! XD For some reason it just seems right for her mother not to be alive... )
Ardenia seemed to relax a bit at those words. It had been a long journey so far, so the prospect of finally being able to settle down somewhere that guaranteed safety was a relief to her. Besides, Crovia was a lovely place. She'd only been there a handful of times in the past, but each time had been memorable and fun. She knew she would be safe there... but she couldn't help but also feel as if running off and hiding in another kingdom while war raged on in her own home was almost cowardly. She knew her father meant well, but still... "That is a relief," she said, stepping over to the horse she'd be riding on, giving it a gentle pat. "I have not been to Crovia in almost three years. I wonder how it has changed." She spoke absently, clearly distracted by her thoughts. "I can't help but wonder if this is really all I can do. I am the heir to the throne, after all... shouldn't I be able to do more than just run away?"
==========================================
"I'm fairly certain that she'd like anything you showed her," Rhys chuckled, happy to see Zinnia so animated over this. It was better than talking about his father because the atmosphere tended to go sour quite fast whenever he was mentioned. Neither he nor Zinnia had ever fought over his father's apparent disapproval, but it was an unspoken issue that tended to crop up at times. He could only hope that one day everyone could all get along... and that his father would stop trying to discreetly set him up with other, wealthier women - not that Rhys ever acknowledged them, but why else would his father continuously insist on introducing him to his business partners, who all evidently had daughters around Rhys's age? "Oh, yeah," he suddenly said, realizing that he was getting too into his own thoughts, "Ferne was complaining to me yesterday about you." Ferne was a mutual friend of theirs - she was actually Rhys's childhood friend to boot, as they'd grown up in the same neighbourhood and gone to the same school. "She said that she should have more input in planning the wedding. Called it 'best friend of the bride and groom privileges' or something. I told her that wasn't actually a thing. She's been texting me weird emoji's nonstop since. I think they're supposed to look angry? I can't really tell." He showed his phone to Zinnia, where Ferne had evidently spammed him with various angry faces.
( Neither do I! But we have to! XD )
( Exactly! I also don't really RP with people who write one sentence, and yeah, I admit that I do prefer at least one decent paragraph per post. I just don't think people should have to force themselves to type out like 7-8+ paragraphs each time just to be allowed to RP with someone who wants an 'advanced' partner. It's kind of ridiculous. )
