Humans were strange and pathetic creatures. It was hard to believe that Yves had been one once upon a time, but it had been so long ago, it felt more like a dream anyway. Back then, they didn't just have shops you could walk into and pick up a human to take with him. Being sort of old fashioned, Yves didn't like it at first. The man preferred to hunt by himself. But he had to admit this was easier, and he didn't have to worry about being caught by human law enforcers.
So, for the first time in his life, Yves was browsing through a place that essentially seemed like a human livestock shop. Many looked scared, which wasn't surprising, but he was surprised at how many actually wanted to be sold. Maybe hoping for a chance to escape, he couldn't possibly know. Maybe being here was just that torturous.
He'd expected to hear more human screaming, but instead he only heard one. One girl, who most of the vampires gave a wide berth, was yelling for her freedom. Yves walked up to her cage and crouched, looking at her curiously. "You're feisty, aren't you?"

Yves grinned in amusement at her greeting. The young woman truly didn't seem afraid, and that was impressive considering any vampire cpuld easily buy her and dispose of her in any way they pleased. Though most vampires seemed content to go for the more obedient humans, Yves knew some liked a challenge. But most likely, nobody would buy her at all, and she'd jusy continue to be tortured bu these guards for being so loud. Yves thought she was brave, but maybe not smart. Even for a human.
He stepped away as a guard spoke to him. "It looks like she's already restrained, to me. She is in a cage after all." He shrugged, not really arguing as he crouched down again to look at her, his short black hair falling into his brown eyes. He watched with a frown as she was shocked nearly into unconsciousness. "Yes, please. And maybe you could stop using that, just for a moment." It was hard to watch her behavior when the guard kept playing with his electric toy.

After being prodded so many times, Yves was amazed she had any fight left in her. For someone who didn't want to be treated like an animal, she was acting like one. But Yves couldn't look down on her for that. Humans were nothing but animals, no matter how they tried to fight it. "I don't think there's anything wrong with being a bloodsucker," He said, frowning faintly. "You're a flesh-eater. That's worse." It was no use trying to argue with her. Even bleeding and bruised, she wasn't giving up.
He looked over at the other woman in a cage and raised his eyebrows, moving his attention away Sparrow for a moment. The woman probably had the best of intentions after seeing Sparrow get prodded over and over again, but he didn't expect her to listen. The kick in his direction caught him off guard, and he tensed up, looking back at her. "It'll help you to behave. You don't see the other humans getting prodded and tortured." He snapped, a little cranky. "Do you want someone to take you or not?"
