That is the reason why I quit reading Warriors in the first place before I came back. She was so annoying in The Fourth Apprentice.

Yes! I hated her. She was fairly okay in the beginning, but then she just got super annoying. And the fact people say she's like that because, "She learned her destiny too young," is a load of bull. Jay, Holly, and Lion learned about the prophecy around the same age--and they learned to deal with it.
Tbh, Ivypool did more than any of the three.

Is that Jayfeather and Lionblaze self discovered it. They was not forced into it and they had each other. But Dovewing was forced into it. And had no one. Because they told her at seven moons old it ruined her relationship with her sister.

Because they told her at seven moons old it ruined her relationship with her sister. Actually only Jayfeather self-discovered it. He told Lion and Holly later when they were apprentices. Not to mention, the three of them had their struggles too. Plus Holly was crushed learning she wasn't one of the three. Dove and Ivy's relationship was only strained at first. But yet she STILL complained after she was able to tell her sister. She wasn't alone, Lion and Jay been through it too. Plus Ivy was much more understanding when Dove explained what was going on. Dove is just annoying and a whinebag. While she was great in her novella, that was literally the only time she was tolerable for me.

In my opinion, Ivypool is the worst thing about Omen of The Stars.

I actually liked Dovewing and still do, but she and so many other things about OotS could've been written better, especially Ivypool.

I'm actually leaning towards the plot overall being the worst part of OotS. It was just a really badly written series, honestly.
The background characters, aside from a handful, were bland and almost worthless aside from minor deaths to "spice up" the plot. And the forced rivalry/jealousy on Ivypool's part was just gross. The prophecy thing was just weird in this series. Romance was kind of pushed in all over the place to move the subplots along. Reincarnation became a bigger thing in the series, but it wasn't portrayed well, in my opinion. The final battle was rushed and poorly written. And honestly, Jayfeather and Lionblaze's POVs became stale early on in the series, especially since we already had a good amount of them in PoT.
Personally, Dovewing wasn't the best thing ever, but she was definitely not the worst in the series.

Okay.. before you start raging let me explain. You can like Dovewing for her character but let's see what she did for the three... Wasted valuable time on another cliché forbidden ship... Complained to jay and lion 24/7 about hearing issues and self pity in every group discussion... Shunned her own clanmate and was more worried about when she'd see Tigerheart next then when the dark forest was attacking... Treated her sister like dust... caused countless complications by going into others business... the list goes on and on. I like Darkstripe more than I like Dovewing... and I absolutely DESPISE Darkstripe. Why I have and always will hate Dovewing. I don't care what excuse you give, bottom line is she's whiny and childish.

Oots is...strange. The Erins wanted to pull out all the stops for Oots, only for the plot to be rushed, confusing, and rather bland (not nearly as much detail as, say, Into the Wild or The Apprentice's Quest). The characters felt forced by prophecies and weren't allowed to grow on their own, interesting characters (example: Hollyleaf) were pushed aside in favor of bland ones (example: Dovewing). It wasn't immersive and it didn't make things clear, it didn't establish itself... AVoS is proving itself to be better already with its more believable, not forced by destiny characters, attention to detail, realism, lack of cliches (if anything, it makes fun of them)... I'm very glad AVOS exists

Shes just really poor in development. And all of her pity for loss of a super power and living the way normal cats do. Jay and Lion are doing just fine.

Cinderpelts image coming out of Cinderheart was meant to symbolize her letting go of her old self. Some people mistook it for a possession. Poorly portrayed.

Cinderpelts image coming out of Cinderheart was meant to symbolize her letting go of her old self. Some people mistook it for a possession. Poorly portrayed. That's because it was possession. Yes, it's supposed to be symbolic, but it's still possession nonetheless and there's tons of evidence to support it as well, especially in TLH when Cinderpelt left. Notice that Cinderheart is still very much alive. Had she truly been Cinderpelt's reincarnation, then they would've shared the same soul and Cinderheart would've been dead the very moment Cinderpelt left, but she didn't because it wasn't reincarnation to begin with since they had different souls. The only true reincarnations in the series are Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing. However, Cinderheart's arc is poorly portrayed, like her situation being misidentified as reincarnation rather than possession for instance.

She replaced Hollyleaf and whines a lot. She's not needed I agree.
