- { hello there!
i've been in a bit of a rut recently, and i've been trying pretty hard to fix it. unfortunately, my roleplaying recently has been suffering (pretty heavily) and i want to be able to improve my writing rather than sit in the same position of being completely stuck. since i want to be able to improve, i'm looking for a couple of advanced roleplay partners who are willing to challenge me in the way i write.
what i'm looking for:
☙ someone who can write 600+ words, who won't mind dipping into novel-length from time to time (though not constantly).
☙ someone who puts effort into responses and tries to help along both the plot and character interactions
☙ three-dimensional characters with fairly complex emotions & reactions to events within the roleplay
☙ a willingness to talk if we're not roleplaying (plotting, primarily - but other chatter is chill!)
☙ an acceptance of the fact that it can take me a couple of days (up to a week in extreme cases) to reply
essentially, i want a partner who knows how to keep a plot up and works with the situations. it's not particularly brilliant if your starter is immediately impossible to reply to; putting your character into a situation where they can be responded to or reacted to is ideal, as it pushes along the plot + potential character interactions. however, a single sentence where there's vague potential to be interacted with is not good, especially if it puts all the responsibility of pushing everything along on one person. if you give me responses with depth and material to respond to, then i'll do the same for you!
i'm not a mean person. i understand that some days you just can't respond, and that's fine! considering i have days where i can respond constantly and then days where i can't respond at all, it's definitely understandable. that said, i'd appreciate the same consideration goes towards me. i'll likely tell you if i can't respond, but if your only response is "figure it out" or "well idk", then i probably won't have a very good time replying to you. the harder you make it to respond, the less likely i am to respond. i will openly admit that i'm prone to forgetting about threads pretty often. this doesn't mean you need to spam me with messages or likes - a like or two will likely get my attention.
what i'm saying here is that if you're considerate to me, i'll be considerate to you. it's a two-way street and working with me is the best way to get the most potential out of a plot.
what you'll get from me:
☙ someone who won't push you into replying if you don't feel like it
☙ various original characters who have complex emotions & reactions + side characters
☙ 600+ word responses that are prone to dipping into much higher territory if the plot is interesting
☙ someone who'll do his best to interact (if possible) and push the plot along
☙ ? ? ? original character spam if you're into that thing.
just a note: i will roleplay in private messages or on a separate thread, and though i prefer the latter, i don't entirely mind the former.
genres i enjoy:
☙ post-apocalyptic. either a fallout-based world or something entirely original, based around survivors who are trying to do what they do best. it could be a recent apocalypse or one that happened hundreds of years ago that they're trying to build from; it would be interesting to play with character dynamics, here, as well as expand on worlds with animals and people who are affected by what's happened.
☙ crime. it's probably one of my favourite genres, and a lot of my characters are criminals even out of crime-focused roleplays. there are a few plots that could work in this genre; a cop who starts off honest and ends up falling in with the wrong crowd, rival gangs [or a gang trying to defeat a higher-power gang], just two criminals chillin', the literal mafia. the usual. i do not like roleplaying cops / detectives, but if that's a roleyou would want, go nuts.
☙ historical. ancient greece, ancient rome, ancient egypt & ancient japan are all subjects i'm either good in or have an interest in. of course, victorian is also another subject i'm fairly strong at, and tudor-times are pretty good, too. i also highly enjoy wild west due to the criminal & cowboy potentials! honestly, this is a subject in which i'm fairly open to unless you plan on romanticising war. i'm semi-open to a war roleplay as long as you don't romanticise it. it depends on the plot.
☙ mystery. this can be touched on with slice-of-life elements, though i won't be interested in a purely slice-of-life roleplay. include mystery, however, and i'm all yours. a murder mystery (which falls into crime), a paranormal mystery (ghosts are fun), a mystery that no-one quite knows what to do about. there's a lot that can be played on.
☙ supernatural. a little rougher on this one, i hold a pretty heavy interest in werewolves among other things. touching on this, i also highly enjoy mythological creatures from various cultures, so it could be fun to do demon hunters or creatures who've grown with the world tackling a bigger threat or new creatures who are learning about things and learning how tough it can be. that sort of thing.
☙ various books / television shows / games. yep, this is a pretty broad one and honestly, it's best to just ask what i'm into. among other things; okami, borderlands franchise, hustle cat, mirror's edge, all for the game series, the raven boys series, shadowhunters, gentleman bastard sequence - and so on. it's a very long list and i won't bore you. note that i'm not very up-to-date on television or movies at this point in time, so that's a little trickier.
all in all, please don't be afraid to poke at me for potential plots or throw plots at me! i'd really like to get back into lengthier roleplaying, and the best way to do that would to be...well, to have partners who can push me!
i hope this hasn't been too much of a bore to read, and i'd love if someone would be willing to roleplay with me (´∀`)♡
