well
I have no idea how the fancy coding works on this forum, so this will likely look unimpressive, but hi!
Short intro- I'm brume, warriors is coolio, went on these forums before they got shut down for 4 years or so then things happened and I didn't come back until now and blah blah nobody cares.
Essentially, I've had clan ideas for a while, but never have been able to get it off the ground. If it sounds interesting, I'd love ideas, no matter how random- I feel like either one of these these concepts could become a lot stronger if it was a group effort and not just my dumb little thing.
But onto the actual idea(s)!
First One: I've toyed for a while with the concept of a functional clan with no belief in Starclan and warrior ancestors, though they'd have a very similar structure to the canon ones. This Clan would be very strict and set in their ways, valuing practicality and efficiency above all.
And how would such a clan stay orderly and (outwardly) close-knit? Put them in a very harsh environment where their survival is strongly linked to the strength they have as a group! Possibly something like a tundra or desert, which would bring a host of unique problems.
Said clan would have very strict roles and duties- possibly separate classes for hunters and fighters a la Tribe of Rushing Water, but also some sort of kit-caring class reserved for weak or crippled cats that are viewed as inferior. This would allow for the mothers to get back to their duties as soon as possible, while also favoring clan bonds over familial ones.
Perhaps mating would be relegated to only pairs that would produce strong kits, and relationships for any other purpose are forbidden, as putting one's desires over the safety of the group is seen as selfish and cruel. This would definitely cause a lot of discontent, but life outside the clan would be too dangerous for most cats to do anything about it...
Second One: The other one would be a sort of mysterious, confident clan, who take great pride in their position and see their way of life as inherently better and more noble than the rogues around them. Stuck-up, but skilled and secretive, even down to the location of their camp.
I'd picture this clan being founded by a group of kittypets and loners trying to find a higher purpose, which could lead to cool breeds and-erm- a few weird names due to tradition carrying them through the generations.
They'd be very exclusive, turning down most that want to join unless they're extensively talented or new blood is needed, in which case they can be very pushy about joining the clan.
I feel like this one would be best paired with another clan, either trying to integrate with a set of original clans who don't like them much ((not specifically the canon original clans, just the original for x world)), or as a two-clan dynamic with a group they view as a copycat.
So, are either of these interesting in a world filled with fan clans? Do you have any ideas to expand on this? Am I trying way too hard to be amusing? No, maybe, and yes, most likely, but I'd love your comments!
To be honest, most fan clans stick to good ol' StarClan or some other religion, but I haven't seen a Clan that doesn't believe in such things.
Not to hate on religious RPs or anything; when the religion is justified and serves a purpose in the roleplay, it can be very fun.
