"It's not singing, but it's enjoyable," Olivia replied, scratching an itch on her neck. When she did so, the hair on her neck continued to stand up. Why is this happening? Apparently her body was afraid of this new fellow standing in front of her. But something else about him made her tingle in other places. She groaned quietly, a headache starting to form, beginning to rub her temple.

Paxton looked at her curiously. "Singing? Don't tell me you're a singer too?" He said with a laugh, then his gaze moved to her neck where she was scratching. All of the sudden, the desire for blood in him arose, but he did his best to suppress it. "Are you alright?" He asked, his smooth voice tinged with concern.

βI donβt like that I can because itβs a curse more than a blessing. Guess you could say I moved here to get away from my past. And yes, Iβm fine, I guess. The hair on my neck itches and that usually only happens when Iβm nervous, but I donβt know why Iβd be nervous right now.β She took another sip of her water. βAny thoughts?β
(I have a plan lol)

Paxton paused for a moment, knowing why she might be nervous but wanting to ease her worries. "Not at all. Unless you're intimidated by my charm and good looks," He said with a wink. Then he changed the subject. "A curse? How could singing be a curse?" He asked doubtfully.

βIntimidation is definitely not the problem,β she chuckled, the lowered her voice. βBecause, thatβs why Iβve come to be in Nashville. Iβve escaped the realm of stardom.β

"The realm of stardom?" He asked, slightly confused as to what she meant.

"I'm a semi-famous singer," the young lady clarified, walking down to the other side of the bar top and wiping down the counter before coming back to him.

Paxton leaned back in his chair and folded his arms, "Semi-famous?" He asked in a curious tone. "Any songs I would have heard of?"

(I'm going to make up random songs, but you can figure out if he's heard them. She's had a #3 Billboard Hit though! Uh, maybe pop song lol)
"Hmmm, let's see. Little Blonde Girl, Back Home Darlin', Selfish Blue-eyes, a Mr. Know-It-All cover. My real name is Olivia Marks, better known as Via Marks; maybe you've heard of me," she replied, taking a breath. She didn't like talking about her past. As far as anyone knew, she'd taken a break from stardom and started a new life. She prayed he wouldn't tell anyone about her being here. Otherwise she'd have to pack up and leave again and she didn't want that.

Austinβs day at work had been average at best. It had been filled with multiple customers asking ridiculous questions, and it took everything in him to not get snarky. His manager had already talked with him about that too many times, and he really needed the money to pay all his bills. Distracted by his thoughts, the man suddenly tripped over a raised piece of concrete. He stretched out his arms to try catch his balance, but he only ended up cutting one of his palms on something sharp. βShoot,β he mumbled as he took at the cut. It didnβt seem too bad, but it was bleeding quite a bit.

Paxton's eyebrows shot up. "You're Via Marks?" He asked. He had heard a lot of her stuff on the radio. Not really his taste, but there was no denying she had mega talent. He wiped the shocked look off his face. It looked like they both had things to hide. He gave her a comforting look. "Don't worry, your secret's safe with me."

"So, what about you?" She asked, eyes shining in the dark. "Any secrets I can keep for you?" This young man was making her get excited and he was keeping her secret, how much more awesome could he be? (xD)

Paxton froze at her question, then shrugged. "Nothing that would particularly interest you." He said casually, looking around the room. The performer was wrapping up since the bar was about to close. "I make a mean lasagna," He said with a smirk, leaning forward to rest his elbows on the bar.

Apparently this man didn't live on the wild side, which now he seemed rather boring, but with his mention of food, she couldn't refuse his tease now. "Oh, you do, do you? Maybe you'd like to make it for me some time," she smiled, walking out from behind the bar and started cleaning off the tables as the patrons began to exit the bar.

Paxton turned around in his barstool so he could continue their conversation while she cleaned up. "Yeah definitely! I've actually got the stuff to make it back at my place if you're hungry..." He offered. Wait. I can't bring her home with me. I might... he thought. He wasn't sure if he could resist the urge to feed, even if he had eaten the night before.

He stretched out his arms to try catch his balance, but he only ended up cutting one of his palms on something sharp. βShoot,β he mumbled as he took at the cut. It didnβt seem too bad, but it was bleeding quite a bit. A tall young lady with long curly brown hair raced through the mountain trees, heading east from California. She'd just killed a lone hiker and his blood tasted fresh and fantastic, curbing her hunger for now. She hated how the curb for thirst only lasted a short while before she felt she needed to feed again. There had to be something to stop her from feeding on humans. Honestly, the hunt was getting tiring and less interesting by the day. Usually she hunted drunk and lost people, not discriminating against the genders. Snorting against the chill of the crisp mountain air, she pressed on, quickly moving through the lower part of Nevada and moving southeast towards the plains of Texas. She liked to visit new cities and towns, enjoying being a tourist and a nomad for a short while before overstaying her welcome by making a kill. As she crossed the border into west Texas, the scent of fresh blood caught in her nostrils, her dark brown eyes becoming bright red once again when the hunger rose inside her. That was fast, great! She grumbled in her head as she followed the scent, changing course slightly, kicking up dust as she ran through the desert in the setting sun.

He offered. Wait. I can't bring her home with me. I might... he thought. He wasn't sure if he could resist the urge to feed, even if he had eaten the night before. Olivia honestly didn't like the thought of going back to his place, but her stomach growled, changing her mind. "Actually, I could eat. Just give me about 20 minutes so I can finish cleaning up here. I'll meet you outside shortly." She gave a short nod, grabbing some empty tall beer glasses, stacking them inside the other in a pile of 3 on her tray before setting it down on a nearby chair to wipe the table down of its mess. Several minutes later, with her jacket and purse, Olivia exited the bar to find Paxton resting with his back to the brick wall, one of his legs pressed against the building comfortably. "Alright, lead the way,"

As Paxton waited outside for Olivia to come out, his mind raced with ideas as to how he could keep himself from feeding on her. He decided that he would simply have to make sure he didn't get too close to her. When Olivia came outside, he moved off the wall and nodded in greeting. "I'm this way," He said, pointing to the left. "It's only a short walk. Maybe ten minutes," he told her, shoving his hands in his pockets as he walked. There was a slight summer breeze that carried her scent in his direction, causing him to inhale sharply. Control yourself! He thought, shaking his head to try and get himself under control.

Olivia slowly walked a few paces behind him. She had to follow him since she had never been to his place before. She let the time pass while she thought about what kind of guy he actually was like, how well he could cook and imagined what his place actually looked like, looking thoughtful as she did so.

When they finally got to his apartment, Paxton retrieved his keys from his front pocket, turning back to face Olivia. "We're here," He said, nodding towards the door. He opened the front door, then held it open for her. "We'll need to take the elevator. I'm on the third floor," He explained to her.

Olivia gave a nod, indicating she understood. Standing so close to this stranger, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up once again. Olivia frowned as Paxton put his back to her, unlocking the door, placing a hand on her frightened hairs. She smiled nervously, removing her hand as he returned his gaze to her. "Lead the way," she cleared her throat, her eyes becoming dilated, her heart beginning to beat faster than before. She wondered what was really setting her off, her gut starting to hurt. Maybe I shouldn't... She thought to herself as she followed him inside.

When they got to his door, he led the way in, and gestured to the couch that sat to their right, "You can sit there if you'd like. Or you can help me cook," He offered. Looking around his apartment, he frowned. There really wasn't much to it. The living room boasted only a simple black couch, a two bookshelves and a small table, that could only seat two people. To their left was a narrow kitchen, if one could even call it that, with just enough space to house some very basic appliances. "Sorry. There's not much to it," he said, apologizing.

Olivia took a look at the size of the apartment. It was nearly the same size as hers. Apartments went for a lot for not so much. "Don't worry about it. Mine looks about the same when it comes to size," she shrugged. "I can't really afford much anyway on my small salary. I don't touch the money I have saved because of how underground I am. I don't mind it though. It's definitely eye-opening to pay bills with the little one I make. Still doesn't make it any easier to go to bed hungry sometimes," She shrugged again. "Still a learning experience, though. What do you do for a job?" she asked, taking a seat on the couch for a moment. (she will eventually help in the kitchen)
