So Far...
Three Kingdoms. East. West. Middle East. Three Causes: the Imperial Seal, the Figurehead King, and a descendant of the Royal Bloodline In an era of conflict fueled by the destruction of the original kingdom that unified them, the people have split into three kingdoms. They desire to unite the kingdom once again but under one banner. Only one can rule supreme.
the "rightful ruler" by blood [ West ] the "faithful servant" trying to reinstate the king [ Middle East ] and the "chosen" with heaven's mandate [ East ]
After a large scale rebellion, the young emperor is overthrown. The nation is fragmented beyond belief. Three individuals rise to power, three factions forming causing a period of war between three kingdoms with the claim of unifying the nation. Each believes them to be rightful in their acts.
Setting: High fantasy. Medieval w/ magic and some (undecided) technological advancements.
Magic: Rare. Highly powerful. Those with it are obtained from a young age and forced to train as a soldier for their respective kingdom. Met with fear. Nobody knows the cause of these abilities and they are not known to be genetic. It is rare that magic passes onto a child of magic wielder but there are cases of it. It's still very bizarre. Also, it appears that at times the environment of birth also impact the magic user's magic, but that is also uncertain. Each unit has one assigned to them as a offensive unit and a shield. There are vast differences in abilities and utilization of them. [re: xp magic system. will be shoved under a spoiler sooner or later]
Stuff I Def. Want -

The Yao Empire
祸兮福之所倚,福兮祸之所伏。《老子》 Calamity has its roots in prosperity, prosperity has its roots in calamity.
A powerhouse by nature, the Yao Empire has never faced much difficulties in both offensive and defensive combat. They are situated in a serene landscape, diverse in geography, culture, and language. After receiving Heaven's Mandate in the form of the Imperial Seal, the Empire believes that their Emperor, Shao Yingzi is the rightful ruler of the lands. They are most known for their fearsome magicians and crafty strategies. If a dent is to be made on the Yao Empire, the first thing that needs to go is the Jinyiwei, the Emperor's personal imperial military unit. Though they have yet to breach their opponents' defenses, they have high morale and plenty of reasons to believe that they shall emerge the victor.

Covered Swoopers/Mengchong - the mengchong are covered assault boats. this is not a traditional fighting ship, instead they have their backs roofed over and armored with rhinoceros hide. on both sides, there are oar ports, and also both fore and aft, as well as to port and starboard, there are openings for crossbows and holes for spears. enemies cannot board them and arrows and stones cannot pierce the hide. this is utilized on small vessels with high speed and mobility. the mengchong swoops in on unprepared enemies, hence the name "covered swoopers" Combat Junks/Zhan Xian - the zhan xian have ramparts and half ramparts above the side of the hull with oar ports below. five feet from the edge of the deck [to port and starboard] there is a deckhouse with ramparts, having ramparts above it as well. this doubles the space available for fighting. serrated pennants are flown from fixed staffs at many places on board and their are gongs and drums. these are fighting ships. - Treasure ships, used by the commander of the fleet and his deputies (Nine-masted junks, claimed by the Ming Shi to be about 420 feet long and 180 feet wide).

Flying Barques/Zou Ge - another kind of fighting ship, the zou ge have a double row of ramparts on deck and carry more sailors and fewer soldiers. the sailors are the best and bravest and these ships rush back and forth over the waves as if flying. they can attack an enemy without alerting them of their approach. they are highly useful during emergencies and urgent duties. Patrol Boats/Yu Ting - the yu ting is not a fighting ship. they are smaller vessels used for collecting intelligence. they have no ramparts above the hull, but to port and starboard, there is one rowlock every four feet. whether going forward, stopping, returning, or making changing formation, these boats are fast. they are used for reconnaissance. Sea Hawks/Hai Hu - the hai hu are boats with low bows and high sterns. the forward parts of the hull are small and the parts after are large, giving the boat the shape of a hu bird when on water. below deck level, there are floating boards shaped like the wings of the hu bird which are used to balance the ship during harsh winds and waves, allowing them to not be driven sideways or overturn. over the upper parts on both sides of the ship are raw ox hides used to cover over and protect the boat. there are serrated pennants, gongs, and drums, just like on fighting ships.
PICS Geography The Yao Empire's geography is highly diverse due to its large land mass. There are parts of it that are composed of plains, hills, plateaus, and highlands. The landscape is riddled with snow-capped mountains, deep river valleys, broad basins, high plateaus, rolling plains, terraced hills, sandy dunes and many other geographic features that goes hand in hand with the diversity among its people. Mountains, plateaus, and hills account for nearly 70% of the Empire's land. Only about 30% of it are lowland plains and basins, and some of those basins are filled with deserts. Due to these reasons, the Yao Empire faces challenges with the construction of overland transportation and require extensive terracing to sustain agriculture. It goes without saying, the Yao Empire experiences all four seasons depending on the topography of the region one is in. The people are scattered throughout the lands with many villages and small towns dotting the empire and even some tribes in the mountains and plateaus. Where there are many resources, there are cities that interwoven as way points for travelers in the Yao Empire. The Capital of the Yao Empire is located in the lowland plains with its back to a large mountain range protecting the south and west from attack. The Capital is called Fengtian and is the largest city in the Yao Empire. The cities Kurokawa and Muju, both mountainous cities, are the other two largest cities in the Yao Empire.
As with its land mass, the Yao Empire has a very diverse fauna and flora. Depending on the districts and the region, the flora range from bamboo to the Fujian cypress to sakura blossoms. The animals inhabiting the Yao Empire are also plentiful. Though tigers, leopards, wolves, pandas, and many other carnivores are present, they generally are not near large cities though near villages attacks by these creatures are not rare. There are also many animals inhabiting the Yao Empire though not all are dangerous and do not stray near cities more often than not. The Yao Empire raise rich rice fields and their crops are very important to their livelihood. Cities that are more inland, rely on these crops and fresh livestock. Cities near the sea are known to feast on a variety of sea food and rice.
Nature The people of the Yao Empire are best described as honest, hardworking, loyal, and kind. They are diligent people who value love and respect for their family, integrity, loyalty, honesty, humility, respect for elders, patience, persistence, hard work, friendship, brotherhood, commitment to education, belief in order and stability, community and peace. They do not confront others openly, preferring consultation. The Yao people are known to put their family and their loyalty to their nation above their own desires. They are said by some to be harsh as a result. They are also considered tenacious, unpredictable, secretive, and greedy at time due to their nature.
The Yao people are also known to be highly accepting of those with magic, if not a little wary of them. They admire those gifted with magic, believing that they are given it in order to better serve their family and more importantly, their nation and emperor. Those with magic are known to be protectors of the weak [more than violent scum, though that sort have risen up many times]. The Yao people respect them and generally shower them with small gifts, such as food offerings in show of their thanks and sometimes in fear due to the authority the military and especially the jinyiwei possess.
pics Culture
i. Language: The languages of the Yao people are highly diverse. Due to the land they live on, the culture from each district and region varies. As a result, so do the dialects and even the languages as a result of the freedom the people had been given under the original empire. Following the unification of the Yao Empire, the people have developed something of a common tongue due to their languages being so vastly different that even their dialects behave much like a language family. Most people in the Yao Empire can read and write, even farmers and servants. The common unified language is Mandarin, Cantonese being a popular second language. Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese.

The Alhisn Kingdom
اتغدّى بيه قبل ما يتعشّى بيك. Eat him for lunch before he eats you for dinner.
description.
Government Type Absolute Monarchy
Influential Figures Pharaoh, Farah Savatier Vizier, Sabah Ganim
Head Priestess, Khadija Atassi High Steward, Jihad Hawi Chief Treasurer, Abdur Rahim Ebeid Army General, Jacques Lestrange
Military Statistics 247,500
Geography It is no secret that Alhisn contains extremely treacherous territory, with wide stretches that are deemed impossible to inhabit. To the immediate North is a giant, thick jungle with no known name by locals - this forest stretches out for miles upon miles, covering the border almost entirely and making just getting into Alhisn a chore in itself. This jungle is inhabited by multiple jungle tribes that do not listen to the royalty within Alhisn, instead using their own systems and laws. The density of the trees and the intense heat can often be overwhelming to non-locals, and tigers are a common sight, especially along the thick river that cuts through the jungle and separates it from mainland Alhisn. A notable factor about the Alhisn Jungle is that cacao beans are grow in abundance, making it a huge part of the trade system within Alhisn (and outside of it). To get across the thick, fast-flowing river that separates the jungle from mainland Alhisn is a long, sturdy bridge made of various types of stone. This bridge functions as a chokepoint for defense, as it is the only way of getting across - boats do not work, as the rapids are often considered far too fast. Getting past this bridge leads to barren, rocky land; semi-mountainous in nature. After the rocky terrain leads to the desert, undoubtedly the one thing that Alhisn is known for. Harsh to outsiders and uninhabitable in certain areas, the desert consists of multiple oasises and a large river that runs to the East. In the middle of the desert is the Capital, where the Royal Family is located. Alhisn's desert is not a forgiving one, and a reason for why the population is low. Though crops can be grown on the muddy shores of the river, it is with limited supply; enough to support their smaller population. Their main focus is with their livestock; goats and cows are in abundance for unknown reasons, and they have their own breeds based around the desert itself. Exploring the desert is no easy feat. There are many abandoned towns or half-constructed towns that are rumoured to hold ghosts, there are pyramids that serve as tombs for royals and nobles, odd statues littered here and there, sphinxes and jackals being two recurring themes. Travelers will often find sun-bleached bones in the sandy dunes of the desert, and unpredictable weather patterns mean that sudden sandstorms are a common thing in the more barren parts of the desert. The heat rises rapidly during the day, and Alhisn is known to have two seasons - Spring, and Summer. Spring brings heavy rains that dampen the sands in the desert and make it almost pleasant to be within, and this is when the activity within Alhisn rises. Summer is dry and long, consisting of a majority of the year - it is also when Alhisn is at its strongest, for some unknown reason. There are many structures long-abandoned or even used as military hideouts, and there are various small towns scattered throughout the forest, often barricaded with tall sandstone walls. Random pillars never used for construction, half-finished statues dedicating to gods, sudden stretches of man-placed sandstone within the sand. All of these link to a rich history but ultimately a failure in occupying the more dangerous territory. In the Southeast is a tall volcano that is thought to be dormant, though it is known as 'the Mountain of Death' due to the strangely high concentration of mysterious deaths within the area. Overall, Alhisn is harsh to those who don't know it, and kind to those who were born within it. It is dangerous and temperature drops within the night can lead to unprepared deaths, and the sudden rises in the day can, too. The ghosts of Alhisn's past seem to show themselves even to outsiders, promising a similar outcome to them. The flora in Alhisn can be sparse or dense depending on the location, with desert shrubs and cacti being more common in the habitable areas. The jungle itself holds a majority of the flora, however, with its rich abundance of trees (cacao and otherwise), vines, flowers and bushes. The fauna is diverse and unpredictable, ranging to the tigers, leopards and various monkeys and tropical birds of the jungle to the lean foxes, wolves, jackals and highly venomous snakes of the desert. Predators seem to be a more common occurrence, but with the carnivores come the herbivores - more hidden away. Rodents are also a common sight within the desert, though lesser-seen in the jungle. Both rivers house crocodiles that are known to attack humans even when unprovoked, making even getting water a dangerous task.
Hierarchy mmmgot nothing.
Culture haha no
Lore got nothing.
Nature nah.
Relations nope.
