this is a way to email them. they give you a standard script which you can modify if you so desire. i was able to contact my house representative and one senator through this (the website told me that my other senator, the zodiac killer, isn't taking emails right now lmao).

when you contact your rep, what should you say? ah i don't actually have anything specific in mind, but you could just say you support maintaining net neutrality.... act.credoaction.com/call/call-FCC-NN/act.freepress.net/call/internet_pai_nn/?source=FPblogi suppose it's more calling the fcc themselves, but there are some scripts at those sites

I just sent emails to my representatives but it's too late for calls atm but I'm definitely gonna make a call about this. Losing net neutrality honestly worries me a lot.

It's up to everyone to combat this. Sitting there won't do anything.

I kinda slept though my government class last year so can I just ask: how exactly can they go through with this and is there a way to stop it and how.

There’s probably no point in contacting my senators/governor since they will definitely oppose this.
At least they haven’t officially passed the vote yet. But it’s expected that they will, since the FCC has a republican majority.

Time to download all my anime If Verison blocks LGBT+ content... Tell my girlfriend I love her oh god what if companies started blocking lgbt+ content that would be really bad holy hell Net Neutrality is not about blocking things I mean... they already can do that So would not worry about that. If they did there would be world wide backlash from many many leaders in many many fields. Net Neutrality is about charging more for using Netflix, YouTube, etc.

As for me, Net Neutrality rollback isn't important. When a new person runs the FCC, it'll all go back to normal. While the damage may seem permanent, it'll be fine. Just download all of the pirated anime you can and hunker down. Also, you can change providers. To remain competitive, companies won't take advantage of net neutrality that much anyway.

And apparently they can charge more for Netflix, YouTube, Tumblr, etc.
Welp, time to binge Stranger Things.

Republicans become crazier every day. Ironic, coming from someone who claims to be a ruler of a republic but in reality it's a dictatorship.

Kind of can’t do that, if I can only have one provider, that’s actually decent in speed, but still scammy. (Verizon.)

Ah, well, VPNs and using Tor are ways to get around web blocks and other stuff like tracking. I don’t know what either of those things are, not do I think I can do them. Tor is a downloadable browser that's basically a very private version of Firefox. A VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It changes your IP and where you enter the internet to prevent web filters from blocking stuff. You can buy these and run them in 3 clicks (TunnelBear is a great program that does this for a small fee.) So you could do them. But you have to know how to use them. Luckily, all VPN software and Tor come with tutorials. If you want to use them but don't know how, ask me. My day job is basically tech support anyway.

They could just throttle VPN and TOR too you know. TOR is slightly more challenging due to hidden entry nodes, but with DPI you can identify most VPN traffic.

Yeah, but most of the time they don't think to do that. Sometimes they do, and then, well, I resort to either downloading the content or using the internet wayback machine.

Then companies would have to compete like crazy, and then the consumer wins, along with the companies because now they can provide their service to more people.
