This ship seems to be the most popular of Skystar's pairings, but I'm unsure of how to feel about it myself. Now, keep in mind that I haven't read DotC in years, but from what I remember, Petal was pretty loyal to Clear Sky. The problem is that I always got the feeling that she was a little too loyal. Other cats at least called Clear Sky out for his actions, even those in his own group, but apart from her disapproving of Alder and Birch training so early, Petal always seemed to follow him without question.
While his relationship with Storm was rushed, she at least called him out for his cruelty both before and after her death. And while Star Flower called him a hero in an attempt to comfort him after he began to feel guilty for his actions, there were times where she would stand up to him too, such as whenever he was being overprotective.
But Petal... I'm not sure if she'd make a good match for him.
What do you guys think? And again, I haven't read DotC in a long time, so if Petal ever did stand up to Clear Sky or at least acknowledged his poor leadership, please provide evidence from the books themselves.

The thing is though, Petal comes from a different background than Clear Sky's other mates, they all do. Petal knew what it was like to grow up as a rogue, and only really had her brother from what I remembered. She owes her life to Clear Sky, or at least that's what she believes, and she wants to remain loyal to him and believed that his way was logical in situations. She has no attachment to the other tribe cats in the other groups, so it's easily able to see that she wouldn't have a problem fighting them either. However she had history with Misty, and ended up adopting her kits after her death. Imo Petal was the better option compared to the other three. Bright Stream was a doormat, she is the one that blindly followed Clear Sky around, she didn't even want to go on the journey, at least she was uncomfortable with the idea of it, and Clear Sky was overbearing, even if he didn't mean to, in convincing her to go. And we all know how that ended. With Storm, apparently it's love at first side, which imo is bs, and the fact they purposely went behind Gray Wing's back was annoying, not to mention Storm was an utter plot tool. And Star Flower excused his behavior period, there's a difference between siding with what you believe in, and excusing it even though you fully acknowledge it's wrong. And she's literally 90% of the reason he regressed as a character so badly in the first place.
