"Light cannot exist without darkness. The moon cannot exist without the sun. Night cannot exist without day. Life cannot exist without death." Nightstar gazed at Spottedmoon as he began to fade. “Wait! Nightstar?! Can you explain?!” She exclaimed, trying to follow after him but only awoke back at the star pool. She cursed loudly, jerking back from the water and shaking the water from her nose.

Frostfeather's Vision:
Frostfeather woke up by a river in StarClan. She looked around and saw a silver she-cat approaching her. "Moonstar!" She meowed in surprise.
"Hello, Frostfeather," Moonstar meowed. "I don't have good news tonight, I'm afraid." She paused.
"W-what do you mean?" Frostfeather stammered nervously.
Moonstar gazed at Frostfeather seriously. "If the sun and moon collide, the world will go dark and the stars will fade."
"What? What does that mean?" Frostfeather gasped.
Moonstar shook her head and faded.

Slitherfoot shook her head, her ears pinning back. "I... I don't know for sure, but it sounds like there will be great bloodshed for our clan before our problems are over." She replied to her apprentice quietly.

(Muahahahaha I love being the only one who knows the meaning of these prophecies. ) Snowdaisy woke up with a gasp, staring around wildly until she recognized she was at the Star Pool. She began to calm down, taking deep breaths. Frostfeather woke up, fur bristling.

Spottedmoon sighed in frustration “well that.. Was something” she murmured. She suddenly was quite glad that Featherpaw hadn’t come, she was very stressed and hearing that prophecy would not have helped. She stood up and grabbed the bundle of herbs before approaching Slitherfoot and her apprentice.

Slitherfoot buried her nose in the fur on the back of Mosspaw's neck for a moment, closing her eyes. Then she looked to Snowdaisy and Frostfeather.

Slitherfoot managed to give a weak, grateful smile to Spottedmoon. "Thank you, Spottedmoon. Thank you." She meowed.

Snowdaisy stood up, trembling in fear, her hackles raised. "I-I think it's time we were returning to our Clans," she stammered.
Frostfeather nodded. She was a lot calmer than the others, as she had many moons of experience hearing StarClan prophecies. "I don't know what they told you all," she meowed. "But I can tell by looking at you, and knowing my own prophecy, that bad times are coming for the Clans. May StarClan light our paths, always."

Spottedmoon placed it down and nodded “its the least I can do.” She took a deep breath looked at the still water of the star pool “I think the clans are going to be in danger...” She whispered, still shaken up by her clan’s previous leader. He didn’t give her much before leaving, it was a very short visit to Starclan. She padded away, dipping her head in farewell to everyone “I’m sorry I can’t talk much everyone. I’ll make sure to appear on time next meeting.” She disappeared into the trees once again.
(Yay! Wow, this’ll be fun)

Slitherfoot nodded, starting to collect herself more and more. "Yes. May Starclan light our paths." She echoed, and she bent down to pick up the herbs Spottedmoon had given.

Snowdaisy stumbled out of the hollow and once she was clear, raced back toward her camp.
Frostfeather dipped her head to the other medicine cats, about to leave, before turning to Slitherfoot and Mosspaw. "I know things are difficult between our Clans right now. I want you to know that I will do everything I can to prevent this war."

Slitherfoot smiled gratefully, setting down her herbs to reply, "And I will try to do the same. Tension is high with many in my clan, and so I will do my best to try and calm their anger."

Slitherfoot dipped her head one final time in farewell, then she took up her herbs, looked to her apprentice, then she started to pad away from the Star Pool.

Frostfeather leaned forward and touched her nose to Slitherfoot's, then Mosspaw's. Sootflame was panting by the time he reached the Star Pool, but his burning anger was still clenching in his chest. He needed to know why. Why Starclan would punish him so. He lowered to the level of the pool, pressing his nose to it and closing his remaining eye tightly.

Sunstar sat with the rest of the SunClan cats who had passed, welcoming the three new StarClan warriors sadly. He heard a rustle in the bushes and tasted the air. Sootflame? Oh, please don't let him be dead too... My Clan has seen enough grief today. He padded toward his old friend, leaving the other StarClan warriors behind him as he approached the elder. "Sootflame, what are you doing here?" He meowed.

"So this is what it amounts to?" Sootflame lashed his tail darkly, eyes faltering miserably for a moment as he spotted his most recently killed kit. He grit his teeth, bristling at his greatest friend.
"All my work, all I've done. For you, for our clan? I stood by your sidd from the beginning, I served Starclan and the code to the finest detail, I-I would have DIED for you, for-for any of you! All of my dedication and you all take my kits, one by one, illness and murder, from me and my Silverdusk!" He ranted, each word becoming louder than the one before.
"How dare you!" He wailed, claws tearing at the starry grass beneath him.

Sunstar sat patiently as Sootflame raged at him. When the old tom had finished, he sighed. "Sootflame, you know as well as any of us that StarClan cannot control all things. Believe me, I would have done anything to make sure your kits survived. I would have done anything to protect you and your family, because your family is my family. But sometimes, fate is more powerful than we are."

Sootflame bristled wildly. "No! You...you liar!"
He almost shocked himself at the power behind his own voice. Never ever had he accused Sunstar of lying. Sunstar had been the pillar of trust that had carried Sootflame into clanhood.'
But the pain of losing so many kits had fractured him, and he continued on after the slight hesitation. "I trusted you! You told me Starclan was merciful. Starclan was loving, could be trusted! And I believed you! Even after Thistlepaw, and Brambleheart, Thornshade, Juniperleaf, Nettlefang, Sagestripe, Berrycloud!....somehow I kept believing, but I can't...I can't after Snaketail, I..." He stepped back, trembling with rage and pain as he pulled himself back from leaping at his first friend.
"You'll take Riverbird, won't you?! My beloved Silverdusk, you'll swipe her into your Starclan ranks and leave me alone?!" He accused wildly.

"You are never alone, my friend," Sunstar murmured. "Don't you know that your kits are looking out for you all the time? They love you deeply, and they hate seeing you in such pain. We all hate seeing how much you've suffered. Our plan was never to make you suffer. Unfortunately, we had no control over those rogues or what they did." He took a deep breath. "But I can tell you for certain that Riverbird has a long life ahead of her. She has a great destiny. You are not going to lose your daughter."

"Liar...liar, liar, you'll take her too!" Sootflame shook his head wildly, unable to believe the words when so many of his kits had died so brutally. "Starclan have no mercy!"
Each word sent a ripple through the starry fields, the sparks of fading belief in Sootflame making an effect. From afar, as Thistlepaw and Berrycloud tried to rush up to their father, they were stopped from doing so, unable to get closer.
"Father please..." Brambleheart, the strongest of the kits, tried to plead with Sootflame, only to flinch as the old tom trembled and wailed deeply to Sunstar.
"Starclan have never protected my kits! But you won't take my daughter. You won't trick me anymore! You can't take my family and make it your own, do you hear me, Sunstar?!"

Sunstar sat down and gazed calmly at Sootflame. "I promise you," he mewed softly, "you have no reason to fear for your daughter. I am so sorry that you had to lose all but one of your kits, but I promise you, if we could have saved them, we would have. We never want to see warriors join our ranks, especially young warriors. StarClan cares deeply for you, my friend, and we have no intention of taking your last kit away from you. Riverbird is going to live a very long life."

Sootflame clenched his eye shut, unable to see his kits lined up in the ranks of Starclan like that. His heart ached. He wanted to believe his best friend, his leader. His brother in paws, he wanted to. But he couldn't, not when Starclan took his kits and left traitors and rouges alive. He choked out.
"I can't..."
With a start, he was awake at the Star Pool once again, moonlight no longer on the water as clouds plugged away the light darkly. He felt his claws extend as he swatted furiously at the water, before he pulled himself up, feeling emptier than ever, like a light had dwindled to a weak spark within himself. He vowed, he would not lose Riverbird and Silverdusk.
Not before he died first.

Memories of her own medicine cat ceremony and Mosspaw's first trip to the pool came to her mind. For the familiarity of the place, it still filled her pelt with shivers of awe. Mosspaw felt as if she were walking on the stars. Excitement prickled in her paws as they grew closer, her fur rising along her shoulders. She felt as though she were glowing, sensitive to StarClan’s presence in the area. “We’re close, aren’t we?” She meowed, the black she-cat barely visible as she whispered.
