INTRODUCTION
Your paws are cold as you set foot into the dangerous unknown of the depthful forest. Fireflies dimly light your path through the inky black night, the striking half-moon barely illuminating a tail-length in front of you. The canopy is too thick to see up, and you wonder... what sort of creatures could lie in the leaves above you?
A soft breeze drifts through the trees, ruffling your fur and causing you to shudder. It's a cold, biting night, and your muscles ache from moons of traveling as a nomad in hopes of finding a home.
A chirp- distant, but clear as a bell- rings through the air, and your left ear pricks up towards the source as you whip around to face it habitually. And suddenly the chirps and squeaks get louder, and more harmonious- a flock of bats! You snarl broadly, hoping to scare some away and praying to dear Starclan that they aren't the kind that drink blood.
You continue growling and slapping bats out of the sky around you, until you notice- a shadow is looming in front of you, and it hadn't been there before. Terror strikes through your paws, and you go rigid.
"Loner," says a quiet, but regal, voice, as bats whirl around you with piercing flaps of their wings. "Are you not going to take shelter?"
"I'm no coward!" you retort, narrowing your eyes as you turn to face the speaker. She's a small cat, but one of good posture, and her most defining trait is that she's black as the night with eyes that sparkle with knowledge.
"Oh?" Leaving it at that, she brushes past you, gesturing for you to follow her into the shelter of a nearby evergreen. "In that case, I could use your help catching some of these bats for my clan."
You eye her warily. Her calmness is quite uncanny, especially with the rumors of violent clan cats you've heard of in the past.
"What will I get in return?" you say, regaining your confidence. This causes her to laugh.
"Why, if you'd really like a prize... you could join my clan."
JOINING FORM

TERRITORY
Hawkclan reigns in a gorgeous evergreen forest- similar to the ones in Canada- which resides next to the cavernous mountains of Flameclan. The grass and trees are lush and fruitful all year round, which causes invaders to be plentiful during leaf-bare. One giant river splits their territory in two, which flows down through Sageclan, Flameclan, and Lilyclan territory at once. Hawkclan's part of the river is shallow, and speckled with stepping stones. During newleaf, it often floods, which is dangerous to Hawkclan due to their inexperience in swimming and the mountains tendency to have mudslides.
LANDMARKS AND THE CAMP
The Camp -- The camp is in one giant, hollowed-out tree near the middle of the territory, where the maze of forest is almost impossible to navigate to an outsider. Inside of the tree is a network of dens, the bottom ones being the nursery and elders den and the top ones being the leaders and warriors. The leader's den is an abandoned owls nest, and the other dens can be reached by climbing the inside of the tree with the moss and vines, and padding out towards the thick branches and leaves. When I say massive, I mean that this tree is absolutely massive- each branch has a width of four cats laying in a nest and the length of three times that. It's very rare for cats to fall off, as even slipping would result in the density of the leaves acting as cushions.
The Starpool -- In the middle of the Hawkclan river, a tiny portion trails off, leading directly into a small cave that's connected to one of the underground bramble systems. This trickles down into a pool, which is illuminated by a gaping hole above it. You can't go in the short way, though- there's a 30ft drop. It's said that even Hawkclan cats can get lost in there, and only the bravest fools will dare set paw inside of the caverns. Herbs grow thickly near the entrance. This is where medicine cats go to speak to Starclan; the only reason they make it through is because of their ability to commune with their ancestors.
The Hawksnest -- At the top of the camp tree, there's a flat area of leaves that kits will go to when becoming apprentices. If a hawk flies above them, they are accepted into the clan as one of them. It is very rare for a hawk to not allow a kit into the clan. If a fleet of hawks fly above them, that kit will receive special training via order of Starclan.
The Twisted-Cliff -- There's a very tall ridge separating the hilled forest of Hawkclan and the flat moors of Lilyclan, and this is it. It has several thick vines across it, and it's often rumored that lovers from all four clans will come here. Climbing it is a danger, and a ritual of passing for apprentices graduating into warriors. It's a very beautiful but dangerous sight.
RITUALS
During apprenticeship -- It's mandatory for apprentices to learn their way around the forest, especially because several twisted bramble paths go through the forest and provide a maze of underground systems which can be used for shelter, but not much else. These secretive areas are where apprentices are taught to blindly follow their noses and recognize their surroundings.
When a kit becomes an apprentice -- The kit is taken to the top of the camp tree and sits with an elder warrior until a hawk passes through the sky. If a fleet of hawks fly above them, that kit will receive special training via order of Starclan.
When an apprentice becomes a warrior -- The leader escorts the apprentice to the Twisted-Cliff and has them climb it as a final assessment, after the regular hunting and patrolling one. If the leader says the apprentice passes, they have a private one-on-one naming ceremony and the apprentice gets to return home and shout their name from the branch of the leaders den.
When a cat dies -- The one closest to the cat will take its body to the Hawknest, where it will be taken by the hawks. This is said to be a blessing from Starclan.
RULES
1 ) No powerplaying, godmodding, or other roleplay controlling business! AsK for permission before fatally wounding/killing someone else's character.
2 ) Please no one-liners! I understand if you're busy or have other constricting factors, but try to make it detailed!
3 ) Try to be active. Twice every two weeks will suffice, but your character will be marked inactive and it's major roles will be stripped if absent (without forewarning, of course) for longer than that.
4 ) Please check with me before causing any major plot points, thank you!
5 ) Try to follow the cat and personality characteristics for this clan. It's okay to make odd ones out, but they aren't common whatsoever and cannot grow overabundant! If there are too many, I will start asking people to change the designs on the forms.
6 ) Have fun! Roleplay with new people- throw your character out there, don't restrict them into a bubble!
7 ) This RP runs in real life time. If you're absent for a day or two and need a recap on what happened, feel free to PM me!
8 ) LGBTQ+ cats ARE allowed, and encouraged! Explore.
9 ) Keep this thread family friendly. Don't roleplay anything you wouldn't want kids to see.
10 ) Please let me know if you plan to do a forbidden love plot, rogue-joining, etc. because this gets really popular really fast and I'd prefer to keep these plots at a minimum.
11 ) Message me with any ideas for a prophecy. Keep in mind that I may say no if I feel that it's too soon, or that there aren't enough characters.
12 ) Breaking these rules and getting a verbal warning more than four times will result in your character being temporarily suspended.
13 ) Any major events will cause major injuries, and cats WILL die. Additionally, cats will also AGE and grow old.
