Stage One: Cat has a low-grade fever and chills. They may be able to perform easier tasks with supervision. Stage Two: Cat's fever develops into a high fever, chills still occur, and the cat has a sore throat with small bought of coughs. They are restricted to the camp, performing small tasks. They are given a concoction of tansy and feverfew with honey to treat symptoms. Stage Three: The fever remains, coughing becomes more common and harsher, worsening sore throats. Loss of appetite is present, and nausea sets in. Body and headaches are common, forcing the cat to rest in the medicine cat den. Elders and kits are cautioned to remain a safe distance, as the disease may kill weaker cats at this stage. Lungwort and either chickweed, hawkweed, or catmint is used in addition to borage or tansy, feverfew, and honey. Stage Four: Fever rises to deadly temperatures and must be reduced. Severe coughing fits will cause the throat to bleed. Vomiting is common and breathing is difficult. If fever is not reduced, the cat will possibly die. The cat is treated with catmint, tansy, feverfew, borage, and gromia root. notes: tansy - coughs juniper - breathing hawkweed/chickweed - catmint insert honey - sore throats feverfew - bodyaches, fever, chills catmint - greencough borage - fever gromia root - A red leaf with six pointed tips. Reduces fever and soothes severe sore throats.

Basic Plot ThunderClan suffers from an illness suffering from greencough-like symptoms, with the illness quickly spreading within a moon and a half. After it rapidly spreading, it's discovered that it's not greencough and comes from infected birds. It's given the name fowlcough. Remedies of all kinds are not helping to cure the disease, even catmint. A cat from each Clan is chosen by StarClan to find the cure for the disease. They journey together and eventually find a new herb. They gather some of the herb and head back. Meanwhile, in the forest, several cats begin to die to the point where the ill are sent to Highstones. The Clans make a group effort to protect and help feed their Clanmates with rotating patrols. The cats return home to find out what happened in their absence. It takes a moon to perfect the cure, leading the Clans into leafbare. (?)

That's a really good summary Rain. I think it would be a good idea to have it leading to leaf-bare.

◆ Toothless || Ghost, Athe
◆ Schedule & Timezone: College does take up my time, but most of my classes are online. I have to go to math class on Fridays for three hours. Other than that, I can be flexible. My timezone is EST. ◆ Previous role-plays you've created or helped with? Links, please. Sadly, I have nothing to provide you. However, I have gain plenty of experience by helping out with plannings back in the old warrior cat forums. ◆ What can you do? I can come up with ideas whether it is for plots, territories, etc. ◆ What do you plan to bring to the role-play? Exciting plots, ideas, and much more. ◆ Role-play Sample: The forest floor created a shockwave of noise. From the crunching of dried leaves to the devastating breaks in sticks, the source seemed to grow faster and louder with each passing second. A brown tom glared towards the distance with determination. He barely even seemed to notice the brief clashes with tree trunks or the sagging of plants clinging to his pelt. It wasn’t long before he arrived at his destination.
Before him were two cats, one black and white and the other a red tabby. The red tabby let out a smirk as she stated “Look its Stinkystar! Isn’t he smelly Longwhisker?” The latter gave a hesitant nod as Thornstar replied “Redstar! Why is Shadowclan on Thunderclan territory? Leave before I beat you up.” Redstar shook her head rapidly before laughing and saying “Nope. We want this for ourselves since Thunderclan has the best prey.” Longwhisker quickly added “Um yea. It’s better than um whatever we have.” With a growl, Thornstar decided to pull off his signature move. He started running towards a nearby, unusually large tree before climbing and leaping off. He did some twist in the air before landing on Redstar. Redstar tried to get out from underneath Thornstar, but soon called with an irritated voice “Longwhisker help me! You’re supposed to be my ally remember?”
Thornstar looked over towards a shaky Longwhisker. A couple of times, the black and white tom acted as if he wanted to help while going through an array of emotions. As the leader attempted to predict his move, the tom started backing away still staring at his fallen comrade and the Thunderclan leader. That was the breaking moment as Redstar let out a frustrated sigh “Fine, fine you win Thornkit. Let me go. Next time I am going to be the leader of Thunderclan and Longkit can be your partner.” As his imagination faded back into the dull reality of the camp, the brown tom briefly frowned as he got off of Redstar. When she stormed off back towards the nursery, Longkit lowered his head and meow quietly “I’m sorry. I always ruin the fun, don’t I?” Thornkit shook his head, and meow “You didn’t ruin anything! Redkit just being grumpy. While she is cooling off, how about I teach you some cool stuff my brother taught me?" He briefly pause before adding with a wink "Maybe next time, you can show her what you are made of.” The tom was relieved and even gave a smile back as he saw some of the warmth return to his friend's face. After locating a suitable area for training, Thornkit rush off with an excited bounce in his step as Longkit follow behind.
◆ Do you have any ideas? If so, name them here: So, I have read the whole thread and brainstorming on some ideas for the plant cure. One of the herbs I thought about was lemon balm. The lemon scented herb could attract one or more of the journeying cats into ingesting it. Maybe one of these cats were starting to show signs of fowlcough and found it made them feel a lot better. I briefly thought about honeysuckles as another possible one, and that the nectar from the plant was the source of the cure or just ingesting the whole flower. I am still searching for more ideas regarding this.
Another idea I had was regarding the forest cats. Maybe these cats find a false cure as it seems like it gives temporary relief to the patients. As the cats rejoice and hope that the journeying cats will come home soon, it isn’t long before the patients start rejecting the herb. It turns out that this “cure” is making things worse, and some are dying from it. As mention above, the best they can do is separate the sick cats and take patrols out to protect and feed them. Now the journeying cats need to find the real cure more than ever. ⋆ ✦ ⋆

Hey, I haven't been on recently due to off-site planning for a different role-play as well as going through the processes of being employed. I've had to get a few things for the interview as well as information for the forms. I'm still interested, but I should be starting the job soon which will have me off around five in the morning to maybe eight in the morning and noon to about four or five in the evening. This will be Central and excluding any additions I will take.
You're also accepted, Ghost! I like the idea of a false cure, though I was hoping it'd be similar to the Clans thinking catmint works only for some cats to just die.

No worries Rain. Congratulations on the job! Thank you so much <3
Regarding the false cure, I am glad you like it. If you would rather have something to do with catmint, I am sure we can come up with something.

Morning everyone! Also nice! If you want to add it, that is fine. If you do add it, the lemon balm could be a possible choice, but it could always be the honeysuckles or I can find another herb. If you mean adding another illness, I think fowlcough will be enough. If you mean making up another illness for the future, that could work. Is there anything else we need? I can see if I come up with anything for it and post it here to see what you all think.

True, fowlcough would be enough. I was thinking that we could have a history with illnesses instead of going with greencough or whitecough, but we can save that for later. If we add too much, it'll get complicated. My train of thought was that they'd think it was greencough, then another illness, then a completely new one to them which is fowlcough.
For lemon balm, I'm not sure it'll work as the false cure. It would need to work for a few symptoms. While I unintentionally made it so, very high fevers are the main threat, with trouble breathing being the second. But we can also rework fowlcough, since it's a new illness. I do want it to be deadly, but I also don't want to make it too "over-powered" in a way. If we do rework it, I'd like for it to mimic greencough in the early stages for the most part, then get worse. I didn't want to time the plot, but the journey could take a moon, with maybe half a moon leading up to the journey. Then it'd take another moon to perfect the cure, as I like gromia root being the main ingredient, but I also want other herbs in the mix so the herb isn't just taking care of fowlcough on its own. We can work on that together.
Since we haven't worked together before, let me inform you about some things that we'll be implementing in the role-play. Considering we'll be using this right off the bat, I think you should know prior to us opening. We have what is called "Clan Systems" and they're supposed to prevent any mishaps in the role-play as well as having everyone involved as much as possible. It's a long post, so take your time to read it. If you have any additions, I'm open to hearing them! I'll post them in a moment.

Clan Systems While this post is divided into three parts, they all are still Clan Systems, and will be referred to such. The break between information is to allow a rest for your eyes and mind. These are in place to help provide order and assist with creating an interesting narrative for all members of this role-play. It is highly suggested all members read this section and refer to it when it is mentioned by the staff. This section may be a bit bigger than expected, but all of it is related to one another and therefore it makes the most sense to combine them. When a member joins with a warrior, they may be given an apprentice. However, we will not give warriors under eighteen moons an apprentice unless there are no other options or they prove to be mature and show leadership capabilities a few days into the role-play. This does not mean you need to make your character this way, as they may get an apprentice eventually. Keep in mind some warriors may never mentor an apprentice, as either they are incapable or there are better options. Warriors that are about fifty-six moons or older will be assumed to have gained an apprentice if they have displayed leadership qualities. This allows us to spread out apprentices and have some kind of history already going in the role-play. Apprentices must complete certain requirements. The requirements are not meant to be an obstacle, but are chances to develop a character and just have general fun. For apprentices aiming to become warriors, they must have two battle training sessions and two hunting training sessions. They must also complete two assessments, a battle, and visit the Moonstone/pool. For apprentices eleven moons or older, they must complete one battle training session and one hunting training sessions. They will have one assessment, their warrior assessment, and a battle. The battle can be anything from a fox attack, to a border skirmish, or an organized battle. The cat must fight an enemy, however, they are not required to win. The admins of this role-play are willing to work with everyone on this and allow plenty of activity to go on for everyone to meet these requirements. Regarding medicine cat apprentices, they must complete two sessions of battle training, two sessions of hunting training, one session of medical training, and one session of spiritual training. While medicine cats are indeed the healers and shaman of the Clan, they have been shown to fight in the books on several occasions. We find it necessary for them to do this because it not only makes sense out of the role-play, but in the role-play as well. Considering medicine cat training can take a few moons longer and there will be several instances where a medicine cat apprentice can learn about healing, we feel that the requirements are necessary. It is important to mention the relationship between mentors and apprentices as well as the behavior of both cats. Neglect to train an apprentice will not remain a secret. Whether this stems from the mentor's owner being inactive or the mentor appearing to have better things to do. By gaining an apprentice for your character, you gain the chance of potentially being deputy. However, if you abuse this privilege by not doing what is expected, you will easily lose those privileges and lose those chances. Now, for members who own apprentices, be wise of how you make your apprentice act. Disobedience is alright in doses, but if the apprentice completely disregards orders from their mentor, then the mentor may be punished in the role-play. This does not mean the member who owns the mentor is in trouble, but because the apprentice and warrior combination seems to not be appropriate, a new combination will be assigned. When it comes to patrols, the deputy will arrange them for the week on Saturdays. They will be placed on the border page. This is so members are not attempting to gather cats last minute and gives everyone the opportunity to role-play something other than being in camp and looking for a partner. Mentors and their apprentices will most likely be assigned to the same patrol. If a member is absent that day, the patrol is merely supposed to act as if the cat is present, but will not have any control over their character. Considering time will be an important factor, it would be best to watch the admins or head moderator change the time so you known when to "leave" for your patrol. Deputies will follow tradition as it does in the books. While this may be a bit that can fit in the rules, we feel it is more appropriate to follow suit here. Deputies will be chosen from trusted members in the starting stages of the role-play. When we feel more comfortable, we will then allow newer members to have a chance for their cat to be deputy. However, it should be made clear that any attempt to create the "perfect" deputy will thwart your hopes of achieving such a thing. This does include the persistent and aggravating mentions or hints of your character wanting to be deputy. While a mention once in a while is alright, bringing it up on every page will harm your chances. In fact, narrative speaking, it shows that your character has an unhealthy obsession with the role and will certainly bring some awareness from fellow Clanmates, harming the cat's reputation itself. When age comes to mind, the youngest that a deputy may possibly be will most likely be around thirty-six moons. Considering the cats can live well past one hundred moons, we feel that this is an acceptable age. We have decided to allow queens into this role-play, but on a few conditions. You must ask first and you need a father for the kits. You are allowed to ask members if they have a character that will be willing to be the father, but you may not pester them. No means no and you can wait. If a member agrees, then the two cats must interact for two moons before the queen becomes pregnant. This allows development and it allows the admins to see if a member has changed their character to suit the romance. If the character is completely different, then the admins may intervene and call it off. Development is key, but there is right way to develop a character and a wrong way. Permanent queens that are not pregnant or do not have kits are allowed. We will not accept orphan kits unless it was approved by an admin for a plot prior to creation of the kit. If you desire to learn about the litter size and how many litters a queen may have, please check the chance charts. Romance is not the main priority in this role-play. To ensure that, we have organized a structure in how a forbidden romance will be presented to the staff as well as the handling of said forbidden romance. Each Clan may have one forbidden romance until the current generation of apprentices become warriors. The amount of time relating to this is about twelve moons in the role-play. We will not count weeks due to the chance of there being a timeskip. The members requesting the forbidden romance must fill out the form below:
What can this forbidden romance do for the overall plot: Answer Why do you want a forbidden romance: Answer Which cat, or cats, will be involved in the romance: Answer What is the long-term goal for this forbidden romance: Answer
We will allow the exception of romances that contribute to the main plot. Please bear in mind that we will not always deny forbidden romances that are simply for the sake of doing them. They can be occasionally enjoyable, but there needs to be more than two people involved in some way. If there are any kits resulting from a forbidden romance and it's discovered, they will face prejudice. It is not an attack on the member, but it is simply how some cats will react. Outsiders in this case will include, but not limited to: rogues, loners, and kittypets. When an outsider travels into a Clan's territory, they cannot simply do as they please. An outsider must also have a purpose. This does not mean that every outsider will be accepted into the Clan. If you have an outsider, they must be placed into a Clan territory so we can keep track of where they are. They will not be discovered unless they are reckless or the owner allows us. They cannot suddenly vanish and walked into another Clan's territory. The owner of the outsider must let the admin of the Clan know when they desire to move their outsider somewhere else and where. You do not have to role-play your outsider constantly, as they can disappear into their own territory for a while and re-emerge, but we must have some indication of when they are Clan territory. Continuity To ensure that the role-play and the overall narrative remains clean and smooth, a procedure has been created to combat any narrative issues. Whether it be someone leaving or someone being demoted, the issue of their characters' stories and the relationships with the other cats will be handled by the staff of that Clan. Every situation is different, however we do offer the basics. For someone who has simply left, whether be announced or unannounced, filler characters can be created depending on the original character's standing in the Clan. If the cat had a mate or kits, we will create a character that can genetically match the kin, but will act slightly different. In the times where a character can die due to war, famine, or disease, they will be deemed injured or ill if the person has a chance of coming back. If not, then the cats will be killed off. The person will need to create new cats, and while it is tedious, it is certainly better than everyone making their cats act as if the person's characters never existed. We are sure this will probably anger people, but if you are not alright with this happening to you, then we kindly suggest you not join. If the cat was in a high position, they will simply be killed off. For someone who leaves without informing us and they have a high rank, it is quite rude and enough to strip them of that privilege.
Chance Charts In this role-play, we will be using a system called "chance charts." The concept is simple, we have arranged charts to display the chances of something happening to a character in different situations. Everyone will have a character impacted by these charts in some way, and there will be no exceptions in normal circumstances. The only exceptions would be a character needing to be kept alive for a plot or something similar. Nevertheless, it will be a rare occurrence. We will be using a virtual dice roll and a virtual coin flip. Admins will screenshot the results and hold then for two days, then are free to delete them. Time and date must be shown on these screenshots. Below are the charts, please take some time to read them. Illnesses Below are the chances for a character to get sick from an outbreak or a seasonal outbreak. For an abnormal outbreak, all cats will be considered and a coin will be flipped for each individual to determine if they catch it or not. For a seasonal outbreak, only half of the Clan will go through this process. From that point, a dice is rolled to determine the severity of illness for each individual. There are six stages. Kit and elders will have two dice rolled as they have double the chance to catch it. The dice and coin will be flipped twice for them. Once the decision is made, it will be role-played out. Admins will have their secondary leader throw the dice or flip the coin to avoid any cheating. ➥ The first stage is a cough and slight symptoms. They can be easily cured before the next Gathering. ➥ The second stage is mild symptoms where they may take longer than two weeks real time to recover. They also become slightly contagious and are restricted from hunting patrols to prevent the illness spreading via prey. ➥ The third stage with full blown whitecough symptoms. Cats are restricted to camp, but may help with small tasks like rebuilding the camp walls. ➥ The fourth stage where the cat begins to show signs of greencough. They are restricted from assisting with tasks near the nursery and elders den. ➥ The fifth stage where greencough is confirmed. They are confined to the medicine cat's den and must rest. Symptoms are mild to severe. ➥ The sixth and final stage where the cat dies from greencough. Battles Battles can be bloody and take many lives, however they can also be quick, simple, and result to little or no injuries. While any cat can die at any time during a battle, we have decided to make it less likely for death for small battles. Therefore, battles over borders or small strips of territory like Sunningrocks will only go to stage four unless there is a consistent conflict between the two Clans like war. However, battles near the gorge or thunderpath will have a special coin flip to determine if they will meet the terms of a small battle or large battle due to the danger of the location. To prevent a Clan losing more warriors than necessary, the death toll for a Clan will be five in big battles in three in small battles. A small battle patrol must consist of seven cats while a big patrol must consist of eleven. ➥ The first stage where the cat only suffers minor scratches. If anything, fur will be ripped out. Ears may be torn as well. ➥ The second stage where the cat only suffers a few minor gashes and blood is visible. They do require some medical treatment. ➥ The third stage where the cat suffers from larger and worse gashes. They are not at risk of death, but infection can easily set in if not treated quickly. ➥ The fourth stage where the cat suffers complete bodily injuries and needs assistance for traveling back to camp. They may risk death by blood loss if they prolong treatment. ➥ The fifth stage in which the cat may suffer from a major injury like blinding, broken bones, and other major injuries in addition to major gashes in which blood loss is an issue. They must be immediately sent back to camp or face death. ➥ The sixth stage in which the wounds are far too much and the cat dies. They do not have to suffer a broken bone or a wound similar, but they have either not made it in time for treatment, lost too much blood, or suffered a severe blow on the scene of the battle. Litter Sizes In the case of a real matter, she-cats normally can birth up to nine kittens. However, we will keep to the average, so the maximum amount of kits a queen can have is six. Genders and descriptions will be up to owners of the parents, but the size will be determined here. A mutation, defect, and mortality generator will also be up to the parents, but please keep them in moderation and have an accurate portrayal. There is truly no need in thoroughly explaining as it is pretty self-explanatory. The admin will flip a coin and if the coin lands on heads, the litter will be bigger than three. If the coin lands on tails, the litter will be smaller. The admin will then throw a dice to determine how many. Keep in mind that if the coin hit tails, the number can not be higher than three and if the coin landed on heads, the litter can not be bigger than six. The owners of the parents reserve the right to have one kit if they wish, but if they want more than one, they will need to go through this process. The maximum litters a she-cat can have is three.

That makes a lot of sense, and I like the fact we are going with a new illness instead of greencough or whitecough. I don’t know if the cats would even think this, but it is also possible they think it is the dreaded blackcough. I misunderstood you with the lemon balm. I thought you were talking about the main cure, but I do agree that I don’t feel it would work as a false cure. I think a false cure could be an herb or a group of herbs that could have a similar effect to catmint. As far as the main one is concern, I like the idea about the root and the fact it shouldn't be one herb, but a mixture. I don't mind figuring out what the others could be.
Looking at the fowlcough symptoms above, I feel they are fine. As you stated, the new illness should be something dangerous, but not overpowered. I suppose as far as reworks are concerned, my main thing would be the time. Would the cats go through these symptoms quickly (like said two weeks), a slow burn, or does it depend on the individual (such as kits falling ill much faster than a grown warrior)? As for the comment about the mimicking of greencough, I find that is a good idea if it doesn’t do that already.
I have read everything, and I love the amount of detail and thought put into this. It is easy to understand, and thanks for providing that!

Hey, I'm sorry for not being on. We've ran into a little roadbump and I wanted to discuss it with the previous admins before posting anything. Crossie and Dou can't do the four as they've become swamped with real life stuff. That means RiverClan and WindClan are open. I may have someone I can ask if they'd like to take over one, but I'm unsure. They've also specially requested that we possibly not use the medicine plot, as they want to save it for later since they played a hand in helping with its creation. That also means we don't have a plot per say, so I'm open to suggestions.

I am somewhat iffy on the sinkhole destroying a camp. At one point, I could see a lot of exciting developments like if it was Shadowclan, they could end up living in the crowfood place, which is known for making cats sick or try to convince another clan to let them live with them. However, I am also worried about the possibilities of irreversible damage since if the clan cannot find a more suitable camp within their territory, they would most likely have to move out of the lands entirely if they couldn’t get the other clans to compromise with them in some way.
As far as the earthquake altering the borders, that has potential. Some cats could get the idea that this is either a curse or blessing from Starclan. One example of a blessing could be that the borders got altered so much that Sunningrocks appears to be on Riverclan’s side more than on Thunderclan’s. To Riverclan, this would be a sign that Sunningrocks was always meant to be theirs. However, Thunderclan would feel that unless the clan fights them fair and square, they still have full rights to the rocks and will continue to use them. For Thunderclan, it might feel more like a curse as their enemies are now using it as an issue to ignore boundaries.
Another idea could be the altered borders causes a new threat. Two clans could end up merging into one large (or a smaller clan if a lot of warriors were taken out from the earthquake and sinkholes) clan and could even change the clan name to show unity. This could be because it was decided it was better to compromise than to fight over distorted borders. Another idea could be that the reasoning is that two leaders were seeing each other, and now with the borders altered, they saw this as an excellent excuse to merge their clans under the blanket of peace or some sign from Starclan so they wouldn’t feel guilty about breaking the warrior code. Whatever the reason, the united clan would eventually go back to the two clans under their former names. However, I am not too sure if this is getting too complicated or giving too much to other clans. I want to make that all clans get something special out of the plot.
Some sinkholes could work as well. Maybe a sinkhole takes out an herb garden for one clan leaving them without any herbs, and therefore must rely on the other clans. It is possible that the sinkholes could also scare away the prey, but maybe one clan is affected more so than the others. I am not sure if we are doing this, but it is possible that one sinkhole collapses revealing one of the locations of the tunnels that is part of Windclan, which could lead to something greater.

I fear that'll be too complicated, or at least for right now. If we alter the borders, I want to do it when we have an established member base to where they can properly react to it with everyone being used to the territory. I also share the same fears with Ghostling about the sinkholes, with it causing too much damage. I'm more open to flooding or a fire, something that can negatively impact everyone here and now and we can have some aftermath, but we can also have a quick way out. It also opens up to simple side plots that can be resolved quickly.
Off-topic, but I do want to say that now we have two admin/leader spots open, you two are more than welcome to take them. I may get a bit impatient with trying to fill those spots, as we've been set back a bit already and I don't want everything planned for us only to have two admins. If you want to be a helper and possible moderator, I'm fine with that, no pressure. <3 However, I do want to offer if I didn't make it clear before. :3

That's understandable. I am open to either a flood or fire, but right now I don't many ideas other than the flood or fire damaging some resources like one clan suffering from an herb loss more so than the others whereas another clan could be suffering from food loss.
I feel that I would be better off as a helper. I don't have much experience as a leader, and I am not ready to take on such a position yet. I would want to start off small before reaching that point, but thank you for the offer! If I have earned it, I am open to moderator spots, but I wish to earn that spot first. Until then, I will remain a helper and see if I can find someone who would be willing to take one of the spots (or two if needed).

If we do a flood, ThunderClan and RiverClan would suffer the most. We could have WindClan and ShadowClan invade, trying to take territory. We could have a fire prior to the flooding possibly as well.
That's perfectly fine! If you do know anyone, they're welcome to come and apply. Worst thing we can do is have someone double.
Cro can do WindClan again, I wasn't paying attention to this. Good job me, so now only RiverClan is open.
