if you had *wild* snakes living in your house?
I have a fear of snakes tbh. I'm fine with them if they're a pet, or if I look at them from a distance...
but...
we found a 5ft long snake skin in our basement...
and this isn't the first time we've found snakes. we found a skin hanging from our air vent. just hanging from the ceiling yeh.
later in the afternoon
I heard my mom scream
and guess what
the snake was in our entry way. Just a big black snake...but I DO NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF WILD SNAKE ROAMIN' AROUND OUR HOUSE. I literally sleep in the room right next to where it was (its actually the living room).

we just let them stay there

Ummm avoid it at all costs and probably call an exterminator? I definitely wouldn't trust going anywhere near it

we have wild gopher and garter snakes. in june we saw a pretty sizable gopher snake practically right outside the front door. I'm not scared of them because I kinda grew up catching wild snakes with my sister. later on she also got a couple domestic snakes, and ive been bitten by a domestic snake so i know what it feels like (a little worse than a cat scratch).
my only worry is that my dog might accidentally run into one without knowing and get bit. luckily i havent seen any venomous snakes around here so that helps ease my fears.

Depends on the snakes. Like if it's just a bunch of black rat snakes I might be spooked but I wouldn't be scared for my life. But if it's cottonmouths or copperheads I'm gone they can have the house.
Either way I'd call the proper authorities to have them safely and humanely removed and relocated.

depends on the kind of snake if it's like a black rat snake it can stay unless it goes somewhere my dog likes to be if i had to get rid of one i'd call someone to remove it but i'd make sure they'd release it instead of killing it
at home i'm the designated Snake Remover i scoop em up w a hockey stick and put it over our fence

I'd be surprised because I have like a billion cats and they keep snakes away from my yard and house

OOC I'd freak out tbh. I'm terrified of snakes. We have cats that keep away snakes though, so that's good. But man, that sounds sort of scary tbh. Even if the snakes are harmless.

tbh snakes and fire and driving/flying over water are my biggest fears i hope u find a way to take care of it. we have garter snakes sometimes and rattlesnakes live close by the river near my house but we've never had snakes inside the house despite our past rodent problems and if we ever found a snake i'd probably be too scared to step in the house for like a month

tbh I wish we found snakes in our house ;-;
I love snakes and they would all be my babies <3 except for the rattlesnakes but I've only seen a few of those in my life and they were out in the middle of the woods not near people so I'm not worried.
But I've never had a snake wander in before and it would be totally awesome to have me a snek as a houseguest

I also wish I found more wild snakes here. We have a lot of rattlesnakes and I bet I've passed by tons of them while hiking, but my vision is bad and their camouflage is way too good. If the snake is living there and has been for a while, it's finding food. So I guess you have to ask yourself whether you want a rodent problem (pet mice/rats are great, but wild ones carry multiple dangerous and possibly deadly parasites/diseases.) or a couple of harmless snakes that most likely will slither away instead of biting you. Even venomous snakes are not particularly dangerous unless you have pets that might mess with one on purpose. In most cases if you leave them be, they'll leave you alone as well. They are defensive animals, not aggressive, and won't chase you down.
Also, is your basement humid? Snakes need higher humidity when shedding and may seek humid areas out to shed properly.
