"Too many of them are fake heroes, using the title to gain support and defile their name. I will not kill all of them- those that are true heroes, focused on self sacrifice and empathy for the commoner, I will let live those few." She held out her gauntleted fist and closed it in front of her, grinning beneath the suit. It felt like a stereotype, that villains would spew their master plan. But she was no villain, and this wasn't a joke- many, many would die. Carter swallowed softly, almost inaudibly, undecided on what she wanted to do. She sighed softly, studying Paragon's form, she was intrigued, but it seemed morbidly so...like a slight sense of dread was building in her chest. She wanted to see how everything played out, though she was actually pretty terrified at the thought of the carnage that would insue. Of course it was hard to see her emotion behind the mask and hood, and she kept her tone completely and utterly nuetral. "See, whereas I am not a hero...I try not to take a life. Beating them within an each is well and good...forcing them to surrender even better...but a life..." "If you asked me a few years ago what a life meant, I would have simply answered 'everything.' But my eyes are opened- the only life that is worth more than another's is your own, and that means you can weigh everyone's life much simpler. "Put it this way- there's a train, heading down some tracks. At the end are five men, all tied to the track. However, there's a levee you can pull to change the track. On that track, there's one man tied to the track. Many people can't answer the question because the guilt of having to choose is impossible for them to handle. They think if you pull that lever, you killed that one man. "And the truth is, you did. But you did it to save those five. You could sit idly by, and ignore it, tell yourself you couldn't do anything. Most heroes would try to save them all, and end up losing them all. I'm practical in this manner- I'll sacrifice the needs of the one for the many."

Finnick shook his head softly as he considered the question. "Nope, none that I know of. Teleportation has its advantages and disadvantages, too. For example; if something digs its claws in me," he grinned slyly at Lupin, "teleporting away will bring them with me. So I have to be quick about it. Farthest I've gone is about a mile." He said. It was weird, talking about his powers with someone. But it felt good, strangely enough. Therapeutic, even. "So, those Justice League kids ever invite you to their club?" He asked. There was a good deal of scorn to the tone, and it was clear Finn hadn't been confronted about it himself. Probably, he wanted to join them, but wasn't exactly the cleanest of people when it came to records. Lupin raised an eyebrow, able to hear the scorn in his tone and he studied Finnick's form, able to see him just fine though it had obviously gotten quite a bit darker as the night had fallen. "Nope. Can't say that they have ever extended an invite to me. I met one only once..." He tilted his head to the side "At least I think he was one at some point. Said his name was Robin...then said I could call him Jay instead." Lupin did indeed remember this, but vaguely he had been really little at the time. "Well after that I kinda watched them, but I tried to stay off the radar..." He rubbed his shoulder slightly "As much as I could anyway..after my dad split..well...I didn't have much money so I did what I had to to get my mom and myself food...." He quieted a bit as he spoke of this...unsure why he really was trusting all this to someone he'd only known for a day...but it felt good to talk about it (sorry the editing on the specific post was being weird, so I had to repost it, to make it look better. I will work on getting other replies up after school today.) Finnick sighed, idly wrapping his fingers. He opened his mouth to speak, then shut it once something hit him. He couldn't stay out forever. His parents would probably worry themselves sick. "I should get going-- are you going to be all right?" He asked, standing up.

Carter sighed softly "I suppose that makes sense..." Honestly if Carter was put in that position, she would have tried to save all of them, if she couldn't she would have found a way to divert or stop the train. "However," She added "by the same coin, what if the one man was a doctor who had the cure for horrible diseases, and the five were mass murderers who were going to re-offend upon being saved? what would be the right thing to do then?" She pointed out the situational basis "one clearly benefits more people in the long run, though it wouldn't look that way in the moment...I would argue it is the same with heroes. they save many lives during the year, some not even known about, as opposed to losing one or two a week..."
Lupin blinked watching him, but not moving to get up yet. He grinned slightly, though there seemed to be a bit of sadness behind the smile. "Gotta get home to the family huh?" he asked/guessed tilting his head to the side. Lupin didn't really have anywhere else to be. His dad, as he said had walked out on the family, and his mother had passed a few years ago, after a battle with an unknown but deadly disease. After the passing he'd started living with an aunt, who didn't really care about him one way or the other, in fact she had told him that on more than one occasion. "Yeah. I'll be fine. I'll probably just crash in a hotel room somewhere... recoup for the night, you know?"

The Paragon armor walked up to a wall and raised its fist. "You raise a valid point! I'm afraid, though, our time is limited. Radio says cops are moments out. Unless you want a fight, as it seems some kind of hero is along for the ride with them, then I think it's time we go. Would you like a ride?" Bang! The fist smashed the wall, some kind of electric explosion shattering it away. A perfect take off platform for Paragon.

(Thats Ok Scorch thanks for letting me know. So long as you let me know, I totally understand being busy ) Carter shook her head softly "Thanks for the offer, but I have my own ride." She smiled and then leaped from the hole in the building. She closed her eyes and took in the sensation, letting her self fall for a bit, before kicking in her flight powers to catch herself and neatly float to the ground by her motorcycle. She hadn't yet built up her stamina for flying great distances, which is why she had the motorcycle in the first place, but catching herself from a fall or short distances was not a problem for her, She enjoyed the rush that came with falling. (I'll post a starter with Sam, feel free to jump in with him Snow) Sam sighed softly as he walked the back streets of Gotham. He was bored. The team didn't have a mission to go on, and Jason had refused to let him go vigilante-ing with him. Sam had gotten hurt on their last mission together, and he suspected that is what this was all about. He could understand, but at the same time it seemed to him to be a bit overprotective. It had merely been a sprained wrist after all. He hadn't necessarily wanted to join the Young Justice team, as he very much liked working with Jason, but the older male had become so insistent that Sam just couldn't say no. Walking along the streets eventually lead him to the Riverbanks, where he continued to walk along and skip rocks out into the water. In all actuality he should have probably been in school, but he didn't feel much like going.

( my jam okay guys yall need to hear this ) (okay ^^)
Lucy crouched on a rock in the water, a few feet from the bank, jumping distance, so no trouble to get to or from the bank. She was dressed casually, wearing a pair of black combat boots with jean shorts and her favorite purple sweatshirt. Her blonde hair was down, and from her crouched position it was just barely above the water. She should be with the tutor her mother got her for schooling, but she ditched the windbag and wandered the city till arriving here. She reached down, her palm flat and just above the water, not touching it like she wanted to. Lucy slowly pulled her hand back and slid it into her hoodie pocket, sighing.

Mina watched the other girl go, deciding it best to leave this encounter as is. Within her mind, another pawn was taken control of on the chess board. It hadn't moved yet, and Mina wasn't sure when she would move it, but it was ready. As for the queen, it was time to make its presence known. Soon. Mina first would go back, restock, and regroup, prepare herself.

Sam whistled softly to himself as he walked along, still brooding a bit at the lack of anything happening. He didn't really like feeling bored, or useless...which is what he felt right around now. His arm was still healing from his last time out with Jason, but that didn't really seem to be much of a reason to keep him from his Hero work...at least not in Sam's mind. He still had another perfectly good arm to use, and the rest of him was physically sound besides. As he continued to walk further along the river bank, A figure on a rock caught his eye, as he got closer he tilted his head. She seemed rather familiar, but he couldn't exactly put his finger on how he knew her. He didn't really know many many people, so he should have been able to put a name to her. He walked a bit closer, eyeing her skeptically.
(I kinda figured they might know each other, Being that Jason and the Joker don't have a great relationship, you know?)
Carter drove back to her apartment in gotham, Processing what she had just witnessed, what she now knew, and the offer she'd gotten. Carter was not a coward, not by any means, but it sounded to her as if Paragon was looking to start a blood bath. She really would rather not be in the wake of all the carnage that was to come...nor was she sure she could trust the league, as Paragon said, there may have been coruption with in the heroes as well. She sighed and changed out of her costume, hanging it safely in a hidden compartment of her closet, before walking out onto the balcony and looking up at the sky. One thing Carter knew for sure, is that she was going to be in control of her life from now on out. She had made that decision when she'd left the Cadmus lab. She was not going to be a pawn, or a soldier for anyone but herself.

But she knew if she did her father would be disappointed in her, and she hated when he was mad at her. The punishment wouldn't be as bad as if she didn't get a joke, but it would still be bad. She sighed, running a hand through her hair to pull it away from her face, looking up at the sky. Suddenly, hearing the sound of footsteps, her one hand quickly went from her pocket to the handle of her knife that she kept in the back of her shorts as she quickly turned around, eyeing the figure a few yards away from her. She laughed, her other hand sweeping her hair out of her face once again. "Oh lookie~! What do we have here?"

"That's completely understandable. They almost drowned you, after all." He said. Finnick was extremely lucky he'd received minimal damage, especially compared to Lupin, who'd been drained of almost all his energy. Finn couldn't help but wince at the thought of leaving him here alone on the roof. Still, though, he would have to. Finnick ran to the edge of the roof, turning back to face Lupin. "I'll see you around." Before jumping off, he added a taunting "mutt." Then, Finnick teleported away. Presumably back home.

(well, Harleen Quinzel is Harley's real name, but Harley Quinn is her villain name)
As soon a Sam heard her voice, it clicked into his head how he knew her, and he definitely knew better than to get closer to her unarmed. He quickly looked around for either of her parents, because if they were around, it would most definitely get worse for him. Jason had pounded it into his head over and over and over, to never ever take on a member of the Joker family alone. Especially unarmed and in civilian clothes as he was at the moment. His posture became immediately defensive and he watched her closely. "No one you gotta worry about" He answered, swallowing softly. "I'm just walking the River bank."
Lupin laughed softly as Finnick dissappeared, though he felt a bit more lonely now, he shakily got to his feet, before heading down the stairs of the building and out back into the city. He could have shifted into a bird, and flown down if he'd wanted, but as it were, his energy was way too low to shift and then fly all the way back to his hotel, and then shift back to human again, so he set out home at a slow pace, pulling his wet coat around him a bit tighter. This was definitely not one of his best ever nights. In the future he would be sure to avoid the water in a fight.

She might be pyrokinetic, but she was in casual clothing, she didn't want any civilians to recognize her, despite only a clothing change concealing who she was. Really, sometimes civilians were stupid. "What for, huh?" She says, turning a circle around him, keeping her smile on her face as she tilted her head to the side. She could slightly recognize the boy, but couldn't click who he was, and wouldn't have paid him any mind if he hadn't of acted suspicious.

Sam narrowed his eyes, watching her carefully, and not turning his back on her, so spinning to face her as she continued to circle him. "Why not...go nothing else to do at the moment." he answered, a blatant lie, as he should have really been in school, but that was beside the point. He slipped his hands into his jacket pocket, relieved to find a knife in the right one. Generally he cleaned out his pockets on Sunday night, since he wasn't allowed to bring weapons to school, obviously. He'd gotten into trouble more than once for forgetting, but now he was pretty grateful he had forgotten, as it gave him something to defend or attack with. However his face didn't change from the guarded but neutral expression he currently had on as he watched and kept face with Lucy. "What about you? Why you just sitting out here alone on a rock?"

"Touche," she responds, tilting her head up slightly. She leans forward a few inches, looking closer at the male. "You look oddly familiar," Lucy says, scanning his face before lowering her eyes to scan the rest of him before returning to lock her eyes with his.
