The Dab Police
On The 12th Of August, 2017, YouTuber DanTDM Uploaded A Video That Would Change The World.
Well, it hasn't happened yet, but here's hoping! The video in question is this: THE DAB MUST BE STOPPED!!! Already with plenty members, the Dab Police is a group created by DanTDM, in order to the stop the viral, once-cool, real-life meme... the dab. This abomination was once cool, but has since spiraled into a painful, cringe-worthy gesture, which must be eradicated from this Earth. Join me, and many others, in our unwavering attempt to stop the dab from spreading further. Step forward.
Stop the dab.
What Is The Dab?
The dab is a dance move/meme, once considered a fashionable move to perform, and is still considered this by many. However, the dab is not stylish, chic, or dignified in the slightest. Not anymore. To perform the dab, a person drops their head down into the crook of a slanted arm, whilst holding the other one, straight out, in the opposite direction. Anything less than this is considered a "Weak dab", and is one of the Dab Police's worst offences.
The History Of The Dab
The dab originated as a hip-hop dance move in the 2010's, however, nobody truly knows who invented the dance move. Possible inventors of the dab include: Migos (as in "Look at My Dab"), Skippa Da Flippa, Peewee Longway, Jose Guapo and Rich The Kid.
Nobody really knows who made the dab into a meme, either. However, the dab really first appeared as a meme in 2015, when it rose to national fame in the USA. Jason Derulo taught James Corden how to dab during the November 4, 2015 edition of "Carpool Karaoke" on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Dabbing has been seen in politics, too. In January 2016, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton dabbed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In October, Representative Loretta Sanchez dabbed at the end of a Senate debate. On January 3, 2017, Cal Marshall, the 17-year-old son of Rep. Roger Marshall (R-Kan), dabbed at his father's swearing in as a Congressman, baffling House Speaker, Paul Ryan. On the 22nd of February, in 2017, Deputy Labour Leader Tom Watson dabbed in the UK's House of Commons. French presidential candidates Emmanuel Macron, Benoît Hamon, and François Fillon dabbed on TV, in March, 2017.
In February 2017, the president of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, invited a dance group to State House to perform the dab with him. The president was doing the dab dance in a bid to appeal to the younger people of Kenya to come out, and register as voters. Some critics found this move to be in bad taste , since there were other, more important issues, like the doctors and lecturers strike, that the president should have been dealing, with rather than dancing.

I've Seen Enough. How Do I Join The Dab Police?
It's simple! Just grab yourself a badge, and if you see a dab, STOP IT! If it's an unintentional dab, simply give them a verbal warning. Otherwise, they may get a Dab Police criminal record!
