This would be a two-fold roleplay, consisting of actors (and others involved with it) on a TV show. The roleplay would be mutually of the show's creation and of the characters' lives. It's the sort of RP that could go either really well or really horribly so I guess we'll see. It would be a fun little rp, a realistic sort of drama/slice of life rp with some "action" and whatever else thrown in with the show. It would be fun to do because the characters (or at least the actors) would sort of be two characters in one- the person as they are in real life, and the character they play in the show. Other characters would also consist of people like the director and the writers of the show, as well as stunt doubles, make-up and costume artists, set designers, and that sort of thing. Obviously the main attention would be on the actors, but there would be others as background characters as well. There could also be "tertiary" characters who are not actually involved in the show at all but instead have some kind of relationship with the actors (such as a significant other or a sibling who they are frequently around). Characters would probably mostly be "semi-famous," in that a lot of them would be (as tends to happen) the children of more famous actors and celebrities (within the RP world, not as much IRL), but some of them could also be self-made or otherwise regular people who just got lucky. The juxtaposition between characters who grew up rich and those who worked hard to get where they are would certainly be interesting.
The roleplay would be best done as semi-lit/literate. I'm thinking that the RP itself might be done privately (in messages or somewhere else) and then the "episodes" and anything else public (like interviews with the actors/creators, or whatever) would be posted to a thread or something, as a written story or perhaps comic. Then there could be "community feedback" where others not directly involved in the rp would be welcome to interact with the "show" as real-life fans would, with critiques or fanfic or anything else. Not sure how that would work out but it might be a fun little thing to do.
This isn't really a planning page for the rp so much as a "pre-planning" page, to see if anyone would be interested in a roleplay like this and what sort of genre the in-rp TV show should fall into. Something not too realistic (so no reality shows or sit-coms) because a slice of life inside a slice of life would probably get boring. So, if you'd be interested in doing this kind of RP, or keeping an eye on it (as mentioned in the previous paragraph) go ahead and vote for what kind of show you think would be cool in the rp. If you have any other ideas or suggestions, feel free to comment. Just keep in mind that this is not a discussion page, and is just for throwing out quick little concepts to be brought up in the "actual" planning page, should that ever be a thing.
