His name was Tajun and he was the high king of the Mages. There are three factions of mages War, Elemental, and Healing. Each has their own king and queen. But those kings and queens look up to him, Tajun. As he was the one who gave them their abilities and whom everyone looked to as a father figure. It was a role he chose many many years before. It was a difficult job to be looked upon by so many, but he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. However, a war was brewing with the humans and this worried him greatly. While his people were strong and he knew that even if they lost it wouldn't be the end of them... The darkness that came with it disturbed him greatly.
"Enough fretting, Tajun," the high king muttered to himself. Then he let out a breath and headed into the council room where his most trusted friends and advisers were waiting.
The king stood tall and well muscled. His skin was a nice bronze color from his many years of being outside as often as possible. Scars, of course, were scattered all over his body, the most severe were on his face. A burn scar that took almost all his face. Tajun has long black hair he normally keeps in a simple warrior braid and his eyes are a stormy blue that held wisdom and memory.

IC :: Queen Madeline of the Healing faction sat quietly. Originally her hazel eyes were focused on her hands folded in front of her, but as someone entered into the room, her eyes shifted towards the person and a soft smile played on her lips. The lady's hair moved in ripples as she looked up to him though, and a curious look played in her eyes as she spoke in a teasing manner, "High king Tajun, I am glad to see you came, for a while there I was worried something had happened to you. How do you fare, old friend?"

Tajun chuckled softly, his blue gaze upon the beautiful Madeline. "Let me assure you, my friend. That I am very well. Just fretting as usual," he reassures her with a wry grin.Moving silently, he took a seat near her eyes taking a once over at the others in the room. "How do you fare, my queen?" he asked attention once again upon her. He did not want to worry nor burden anyone else with his worries. Things would be fine, they were strong and would not fall anytime soon. He wouldn't allow such a thing.

OoC :: Hi, sorry for not responding sooner, I went to bed last night and this morning felt really, really sick.
IC :: "I am doing quite fine at this moment, recently as well. Though, you really should stop fretting, else your hair will turn gray," she returned. With her own mention of hair, she let her hands grab softly at the silky blonde hair atop her head. She did found it however, a little disturbing how he was always fretting. She wasn't aware of why he was fretting- over what could make the High King worried..

(No problem! I hope you feel better! ) Tajun smiled and nodded, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "I wouldn't want that. That is for sure," he said in a dramatic, voice of horror. His blue eyes slowly observed the blonde woman in front of him. She was beautiful, that was for sure. "How do your people fare?" he asked, sitting back in a more relaxed position. He really didn't want to go gray anytime soon, so he would relax for now. Let the matters with war sort themselves out for now.

OoC :: I am, thank you! It helped that my mom came home to take me out for some lunch.
IC :: Madeline gave a small laugh to his false horror. As he mentioned her people, she looked down with a soft smile. "They are doing, overall well, however..." she trailed off for a second. Her soft smile showed a little worry as she looked back to Tajun, "I fear some are getting more tired with the practice of their magic. I do not mean tired as in they no longer want it- however some people are getting sick and others injured. It stresses them out as they use their magic more and more. And those sick and injured cannot use magic while in that state, it leaves less and less people to heal. I should say it helps that some humans refused to be healed, but I fear some may be the cause of my mages' injuries."

(Oooh, what did ya eat?)
Tajun frowned deeply at this news and he shook his head, relax posture gone now as tense as a notched bow string. "That shouldn't be happening. If this is true, which I am sure that it is and you aren't lying nor exaggerating, then they need to stop using magic and I need to see them personally," worry was etched in his voice and his eyebrows furrowed as well. When he gave the gift of magic this was not what he had in mind. If they were becoming ill something went wrong. Their system wasn't reacting well and that meant he needed to do something different, maybe even take their magic away.

OoC :: Some Chinese food. It was delicious.
IC :: "When I get back to them I will certainly tell them that then..." Madeline softly said with a nod of her head. She worried for her people absolutely. She wished she could do more to help them, however for once she was unsure how to help. "I hope the issue solves itself quickly though, and without harm to anyone else. And that way you won't have to trouble yourself over the issue either... you already have so much stacked up onto your plate after all."

Tajun laughed and nodded, forcing himself to not worry too much. It could be much less worrisome as he thought, he just wouldn't know until he examined them and to worry needlessly was tiring. "How are your abilities coming along, Madeline?" he asked, a spark of childish curiosity appeared in his eyes. He always got excited when talking about the magic he gave to the others. The gifts they gained and new gifts that appeared over time always fascinated him.

IC :: The change of topic was needed, Madeline did appreciate it as he mentioned her magic. "My abilities are just as good as last time. Better if I must say as it is getting easier and easier to ease one's pain and take steps to heal them... I've recently discovered that it works on plants just as well, and have been practicing how far I can heal broken stems and dried out plants with it as I can do to people and animals. I am very glad I already learned how to cause no pain to those I'm healing why doing it, it makes things much easier for them."

Tajun nodded in approval. "That is good to hear, very good indeed," he mumbled, more to himself than her. Then he stood and stretched, before holding out a hand to her. "Mind showing me what you can do exactly?" he questioned with a grin.

IC :: Madeline looked at his hand for a second, before gently grabbing it and pulling herself up. She gave a nod to the High King with a please smile, glad to get to show off this newfound power. "Why of course, my friend. I would love to. However, to do it there must be a plant in some type of harm of course, I don't suppose you have one around here?"

At her words, a sheepish grin took his features and nodded solemnly. "Yes, about that... I may have accidentally somehow destroyed the gardens. So maybe you could heal them before I get into trouble?" he offered with a pleading gesture. Then he rubbed his neck and continued, knowing more of an explanation would be needed. "You see, I was sparring and I accidentally got my fire a tad out of control and it completely scorched the flowers and bushes."

IC :: "Tajun!" Madeline exclaimed as he said that, with wide eyes and a scolding look. "Well, hopefully I'll managed to help those poor burned plants! You really should be more careful, High King, who was with you while sparring? I should scold them too- practicing the fire near the gardens is not a smart idea. The flowers will burn and the bushes, the grass with spread until it finds wood somewhere and boom- everything has been burned. And I can only heal living things, silly. Just be more carefully in the future and don't practice in a pretty area like that,"

Tajun grinned and submissively nodded. "It won't happen again. I can assure you," he muttered, tugging at his collar. Luckily he learned from his mistakes and this was a rather big one, considering he could have burned the palace to the ground. Taking her arm, he led her to the scorched gardens.
