"I swear my loyalty and life to the ACO."
Your voice was only one of hundreds as you all took the oath, having finished your training to be an official spy. As the voices died down, have finished their oath, a new voice took over.
"I'm proud to call you official agents," Directer Preston said, pacing the length of stage and looking down at the assembled group. "As promised, you will all find your official assignments when you return to your room. I expect you all to leave tomorrow morning at the latests. Enjoy your last night here and remember: The bad guys never rest. Neither do we," she finished. Her speech was met with thunderous applause. Your cheers and clapping blended into the rest and, despite your age, you felt as though you were one of a group.
***
Hours later you return to your sparsely furnished room. A folder had been dipped under the door in your absence and, heart pounding, you pick it up and read the paper inside.
Greetings Agent _____, I am pleased to inform you that as a youth agent, you have been chosen to be based at the Portman House. Your new teammates have been notified of your assignment and will be expecting you tomorrow. Only the best of our youth agents are assigned here and I believe you won't let me down. The address is below.
- Director Preston
That's where it all started. You had sweated and bled. You had been broken and bruised. The last few years have been nothing but pain and doubt, but now you found yourself in a place of loyalty and camaraderie. You were a member of the Portman House.
This came from a simple idea of taking one of my favorite situations (young people living together and being forced to interact 24/7) and something with a little more drama and action (spies). So basically, our eight characters are college aged spies that are learning to balance spy work with their normal drama filled lives as college students. Plus there's one guy that already graduated that's supposed to be 'mentoring' them. Anyway I plan on it being super fun and filled with drama, action, and romance. So, please claim a character and have fun!

The Agency of Covert Operations (ACO) was established sometime in the 1950s during the Cold War. It immediately rose to power as one of the top private spy agencies. The agency has grown since then, now boasting over 20,000 agents in over 20 different countries. While they don't officially work for the government, they have a very close relationship with the American government and often do jobs for them. The agency has many departments and finds themselves doing all kinds of jobs ranging from espionage to assassinations to protection detail. They've experimented with youth agents, beginning their training in the early teens and finishing at the age of 18 so that these agents can begin work right away. These youth teams have become a big success and the agency is in the process of creating a Youth Espionage department, headed by one of the first youth agents, Assistant Director Malcolm Cheery. Assistant Director Cheery works often with the Portman Team to get their input and opinions on how the department should be run. The team is a recent experiment of the agency. Starting in the early 2000s, they began recruiting teenagers as trainees. These teenagers would finish their training at age 18 and immediately go to work in a youth dominated area. The members, along with one slightly older spy as a mentor, live together. The first team was a success and the agency has rapidly been expanding this program, shipping the youth team members off when they reach the age of 23. Portman University was the site of the initial experiment. The agency purchased a house for the small team of only three spies to live. After the success, it was outfitted to better house a team of spies. While a few other teams are located across the country, Portman is home to the most elite youth team due to its history of holding the initial experiment. Youth spies are normally chosen when they're entering high school. Most are the children of current and former spies, notable government officials or military members, or leaders of foreign countries allied with the US. It's very rare, but an exceptionally bright or talented child may be noticed by the agency and recruited to be part of the youth team. The agency requires a legal guardian to sign a release and contract for the youth spy. The youth spy may be pulled out of the program by a parent until they turn 18. They're also not allowed to partake in any missions until the age of 18. At the Portman House, youth spies will be watched by an older spy that chose to work as their mentor. They will train and preform missions as a unit. At the age of 24, they will be reassigned. During their time at the Portman House, spies will be enrolled in the local college. They are encouraged to major in any subject they like, as long as it will help them contribute to their field. Some examples might include any type of international studies, history, law, science, foreign language, or medicine.

The Town of Portman, Wisconsin is small, with a population of only around 1,000. The town lacks apartment buildings, and most university students live on campus. There isn't much to do in town, but it's definitely a small town, caring environment. The town's main square houses a library (The Portman Public Library), a coffee shop (The Bean), a bookstore (Paige's Pages), two fast food restaurants (Benny's Burgers and Kwik Eats), an ice cream shop (Frozen Treats), a bar (Clayton's), a vet (Portman Animal Hospital), and a day care center (Forever Young). In the center of the square is Portman Park, a popular location for citizens of all ages. Located elsewhere in the town are two gas stations, a small car dealership, a fancy restaurant (Maddie's), an elementary school, middle school, and high school. There are two main neighborhoods: The Ridge and Mapleton, as well as houses lining the main roads. The team lives in a house lining the road on the edge of town. Portman University is located in a small town in southern Wisconsin. The school's size is medium, though the town it's located near is a small, quaint town. The school has a large selection of majors and minors, as well as a large social scene. The school's colors are green and silver, and the mascot is a panther. Most students live on campus.

Purchased by the ACO in 2001, the house has been a good spot for the youngest spies to live and work out of. The house is quite large, with two floors, an attic, and a basement. It's got a decent sized backyard with a shed.
The first floor consists of a kitchen, a living room, an office, a bathroom, and one bedroom. This floor contains no spy related gadgets. This is the only floor where guests are allowed.
The second floor consists of one bathroom and four bedrooms. This floor is mainly for sleeping. The bedrooms are pretty normal, but it's not odd to find a gun, agency ID badge, or some gadget someone forgot to put away laying around. That's why guests are not allowed up here.
The attic has been turned into one large bedroom when they had to fit an eighth member in the house.
The basement is one of the most important rooms in the house. It's the control center of the whole team. This is where they keep all of their high tech gadgets and technology. They can communicate with the agency from here. The Mentor has his bedroom down here, as well as a bathroom. This floor also doubles as a rec room. On one half of the basement, they have a TV, pool table, chairs, mini fridge, and board games.
The shed in the backyard is large, appearing as some kind of work area. Inside, it's air conditioned and fitted with a thick foam mat. Weapons are locked away in the corner. This is where the spies train in hand to hand combat and weapons. Training is run by The Mentor and is supposed to occur every day. Basement Bedroom: The basement bedroom has the least amount of privacy as it's in the center of the team's recreational and work area. It's sectioned off by thin walls and a curtain instead of a door. It contains a bed, dresser, and desk. It's simplistic, but the occupant also has access to the basement at night. It's designed very minimilistically with white walls and light wooden trim. Occupant: The Mentor {name}
Attic Bedroom: The attic bedroom was added when news of an eighth member joining the team came. It had been half finished into a bedroom anyway, so the team just completed and decorated it for the new member. Though it's private, the occupant is also isolated from the rest of the team. It was designed bright and colorful with a teenage girl in mind. The tugs and furniture are all different colors with an overal purple and green color scgemeD Occupant: The Rookie {Mia Barker}
Bedroom 1: Bedroom 1 is the largest. It was originally the master bedroom of the house. Due to it being the largest, it's shared by two team members. There's two twin sized beds, two dressers, a closet, and two desks. The walls are painted dark blue on the bottom and white on top. The boys were able to decorate the walls with whatever posters and pictures they wanted. Occupants: The Brain {name} & The Muscle {name}
Bedroom 2: Bedroom 2 is the second largest. The walls are painted gray in this room, with a thin blue stripe and red stripe at about waist level going around the room. There's a walk in closet that has been converted into a communications room, giving the occupant the ability to communicate with HQ whenever necessary. There's a bed, desk, and dresser. Occupant: The Leader {name}
Bedroom 3: Bedroom 3 is about the same size as bedroom 4. They're the smallest two rooms on the floor and furnished the same with a desk, bed, and closet. This one is painted light green. Occupant: The Weapons Expert {name}
Bedroom 4: This room is the same size as Bedroom 3. It's furnished the same with only a bed, desk, and closet. The walls are painted light purple. Occupant: The Hacker {name}
First Floor Bedroom: This bedroom is the smallest due to it being an office that was converted into a bedroom. There's large windows along one wall and the other walls are a little darker. They're painted dark green at the bottom with a cream color on top. The room has one bed, a closet, and a desk. Occupant: The Healer {name} Note: These rules were established by the agency and are enforced by the Mentor. He decides punishments, but may also allow some infractions to slide.
1. No guests allowed at all. Their are top secret belongings in the house and if the wrong person discovers them, the agency could end up in deep trouble. Note: The Mentor has amended this rule to allow guests on the first floor only.
2. Curfew is at 11:00 every night. There is no lights out time, but each team member must be home at 11:00. At this time, the alarms will be set and any attempt to sneak out will be punished.
3. Team members attending the local college must maintain an average of at least a B in all classes as the agency is paying tuition, if grades fall below this, the agency will cease tuition payments and the team member will be on their own to pay.
4. Training is every day. Each team member must attend every day to stay in top shape. Exceptions to this rule include missions, sickness, or injury. No other excuse will be accepted.
5. No romantic relations with other team members. This may endanger the team or cause other problems.
6. Follow all local, state, and federal laws. If a team member is arrested, fined, or ticketed for anything, they may be at risk for expulsion from the team.
7. Representatives from the agency may arrive at any moment for surprise inspections. If anything appears to be out of order, the agency has the right to terminate or suspend any team member.
8. The agency will pay for most housing costs (including electricity, water, etc) as well as a salary, but the team members are responsible for food and any personal costs.
9. Missing missions is grounds for immediate termination.

literacy: This is an advanced role play. That means I expect a minimum of a few paragraphs (shoot for a minimum of 3-4) per post. I also expect correct grammar. I don't mind typos or imperfect grammar, but they shouldn't be happened every other word. activity: Activity isn't the biggest rule, but it's still pretty important. I'm busy and know you can't be on 24/7, so I'm just gonna set the rule at a few times a week. If you don't come back, I will message you before deleting you. characters: Characters cannot be perfect. That's the main rule when it comes to characters. Perfect is boring. We want realistic, flawed human like characters here. Though they are highly trained spies, they still have weaknesses and make mistakes. Characters must be between the ages of 19 and 23. The Rookie will be younger and The Mentor will be older. spamming: This one should be pretty simple. I don't see this being a big problem, just don't spam the thread. Chatting is ecnouraged as long as people are still getting replies up. respect: I want this to be fun for everyone involved. I need you to be respectful to one another, as well as me. No bullying will be tolerated at all. You must also respect and follow the forum rules. I don't want this deleted or anyone banned. So, try to keep stuff at a PG or PG-13 level. forum rules: I don't want this deleted. Everyone should be familiar with forums rules, so just plan on following them and we won't have any issues. I trust you guys to use your own common sense for this one. have fun! : I want this to be fun for everyone involved. It should be enjoyable and relaxed. I have no problem with chatting, but I do want to make sure we keep getting role play posts in too. But it really is important to me that everyone enjoys themselves. - Name - Age - Role -

- Mia Walsh - 18 - The Rookie - -Faceclaim: Ryan Newman - -Having grown up as a child of two spies, Mia has developed a personality that she thinks will get her far in the business. On the positive side, she's loyal. Mia will die for her friends and family and will readily admit that. She's strong. Both mentally and physically, she's taught herself to push through the difficult situation. She's confident. Mia could never get far if she doubted herself, and it's carried over into her teenage years. She's ambitious. You'll never get anywhere if you don't have high goals. She's disciplined. Mia's always been kept to a strict schedule when it comes to physical and mental training. On the negative side, she's untrusting. If she has a reason to trust someone, she will. When it comes to random strangers, she's a little slower to trust. She's good at lying. It's part of the job and she's sure all her teammates are good liars as well. She's arrogant. Confidence is good, but Mia has been training all her life. She's good and she knows it and she can't have a big head at times. She's bossy. Mia thinks she knows best and it isn't uncommon for her to try and order others around. She's stubborn. Mia doesn't budge easily on subjects, whether it's something she's passionate about or something as simple as how to correctly put the toilet paper on the roll.- -Father was a former spy that died on a mission. Her mother is still an active spy and Mia's been preparing for this nearly her whole life. Fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and French. Able to speak some German, Russian, and Hebrew- Ariat

- Skylar Brennan - 19 - The Hacker -
-Faceclaim: Luca Hollestelle-
-Skylar's childhood was rather unconventional, even for a child spy. Her parents were spies, but for the wrong side, working against the US government to give away American secrets. She was eleven when they were caught and arrested for treason. When they were, Skylar had been sitting at a computer helping them. Seeing her skill with computers, she was taken in and adopted by government officials, her skills turned around and used instead to help rather than hurt. As a result she knows basically everything there is to know about computers and is extremely skilled in hacking, as she's had unlimited access to that information. She can crack almost any computer system, and can fix up anything electronic with little effort. Growing up working for the government took its toll on her as a child, however; she's had minimal social interaction with other people her own age, and as a result she's painfully shy around anyone she isn't very comfortable with, and often avoids having to interact with anyone outside the team.
