You have been caught in the middle of a fiercely cold, relentless snowstorm, and the thousands of flecks of snow blasting past you rends you almost totally blind. You struggle to keep your eyes open, but it is a fruitless endeavor, as all you can see is blinding white light. As if that wasn't enough, you feel the tug of the ferocious wind racing past you, threatening to rip your body and soul apart. The storm had caught you completely off guard - one minute it was snowing gently, the next a massive blizzard had formed - and you are now hopelessly lost.
The struggle to keep moving forward ends up being too difficult of a task for you, and you know you cannot go back, as the wind would undoubtedly carry you along with it. Without any way of knowing if there is any shelter nearby, and with your heart beating slower than it should and your fur as cold as the ice and snow around you, you curl up into a ball, attempting to wait out the storm.
You pass in and out of consciousness, and your body is numb from the cold... The snow threatens to entomb you whilst you are still alive, when a cat suddenly grabs you by the scruff and begins to haul you across the ground, but as to where you do not know... nor do you care. All you want is to sleep...
It is some hours before you awake, and the first thing you notice in your half drowsy state is that the storm has finally passed. You then begin to wonder where in the name of the world you are, and thus you almost instinctively begin to analyze your surroundings, moving your head and your eyes around to get a grips of the place. The floor is made out of stone, with small patches of snow littered here and there. The walls are also made out of rock, and you quickly deduce that you are inside a shallow cave. (Shallow because you were able to glance past your rump and see that the cave didn't go far into the earth at all.) Stalagmites and stalactites jutted out of the rock like giant fangs, as if you were inside the jaws of a monstrous creature.
Your nose picks up the distinctive aroma of hare, and you gaze forward, identifying the piece of fresh-kill approximately two fox-lengths from you. Using your front paws, you begin to heave yourself towards the delectable prey, as most your body still feels like it's frozen. Before you can sink your teeth into the dead white hare however, a larger cat stomps on the dead rodent with its front paw, although with not much force applied; it was as if he was claiming the piece of prey for himself.
"You're finally awake." the cat - a large black and white tom - grunts, as if out of impatience.
"W-who are you?" is the only thing that escapes your tongue, looking up at the intimidating stranger.
"I am Blackpatch. I am a warrior of FrostClan." he introduces himself formally, properly looking down at his guest this time, his icy blue eyes piercing into your very soul.
You suppress a gulp and attempt to stand up straight, trying to mask your fear-scent. But you do not give out your name... not yet, at least. You don't know if this cat can be trusted. After all, you only just met him, and he looks rather formidable.
"Were you the one you saved me?" you ask, and the tom nods in response. "But why?" you ask, mostly out of apprehension than gratitude. But why would he have brought you here only to harm you when he could have just left you there out in the middle of the storm with no chance of you surviving? The theory you had briefly invented that in which he was an aggressor did not add up...
"As a warrior of FrostClan, it is my duty to help any cat in need (if the circumstance is dire enough that they cannot defend themselves), even if the cat(s) is foreign to us... Unlike SootClan, we believe that every cat matters, especially when a cat's life is in peril. Besides... I could not let you die out there. It goes against everything I live by." Blackpatch replies in between licks, grooming his front left paw and the top of his head, where his fur is ruffled up the most. His tone of voice sounds slightly uneasy, as if he himself is not believing the words that are coming out of his mouth.
"Where are we?" you ask, looking around.
Suddenly, much like the slashing wind that was blustering against your fur earlier on, you realize how ungrateful and rude you must sound, and you gaze at the tom with warmth in your eyes.
"Sorry, um... Thank you,... Blackpatch," you say clumsily, struggling to pronounce his name. What a weird name he has... Unlike any other you had ever heard before it. "Thank you... for everything." you repeat yourself.
Blackpatch returns your thanks with a smile, and he offers you the hare at long last, much to your delight. He politely waits until you are finished eating before answering the question you had asked previously.
"We are on the outskirts of FrostClan territory. To be exact, we are inside one of the Snow Shelters, a small series of shallow caves that dot the Southeastern border of our territory. We all too commonly utilize these natural shelters to take refuge from blizzards, like the one you were trapped in the middle of in a few hours ago. Mild weather is considered a blessing here, and no snowfall at all is almost unheard of." Blackpatch meows, filling out the blank spots [of information] that float around inside your head.
"FrostClan?" you ask, tilting your heard to one side.
"FrostClan is a, well... a large group of cats that has made their home in the middle of this... almost barren wasteland." the tom responds as best he can.
"You mean like... a family?" you ask. The look Blackpatch gives you indicates that the question you had just asked was rather hare-brained.
"I suppose so, in a way." he meows in reply, pondering your response to his answer for a few lengthy moments.
Once again, your inquisitive nature gets the better of you. "Where is the rest of FrostClan then? Why are you out here all alone?" you ask.
The tom suddenly flinches, as if you had just pulled a sharp thorn from his paw. He lets out a deep sigh and turns away for a moment, closing his eyes temporarily, before facing you once again.
"I was out hunting for my Clan." he responds, shrugging his shoulders and turning away and facing the entrance of the small cave once more. What he told you wasn't exactly a lie - he was indeed out hunting, but only for himself. (Unlike you, he was able to foresee when the storm was approaching and he even calculated when it would hit.) But despite his seemingly honest answer, you still get the strange feeling he isn't telling you everything.
"I want to meet FrostClan... Can I?" you ask, pestering him with another question (making you feel guilty about doing so in the process). It seemed like forever, but the tom finally decided to acknowledge your existence.
"Enough questions. You have to rest now. The storm has affected you pretty badly.. physically, I mean. I don't need you dying on me; you'd be useless to me then." Blackpatch says in a much more intimidating tone of voice, and before you can ask where he is going, he exits the cave entrance and vanishes, leaving you with nothing to do but to do as he had asked and go back to sleep.
Welcome to
❄️Frostclan!❄️
Frostclan is a forum roleplay made by Frostleaf2222. Due to some outside reasons I've taken over for her. Frostclan centers around two clans, Frostclan (ofcourse ;P) and Sootclan!
And it'd be totally cool ;P if you would join!
Below you will find information like the rules, territory information, the allegiances, and the joining page link!
Rules:
- Follow the WCRP Forum Rules at all times! (Basically try and keep things PG-13. No explicit gore, mating scenes or mentioning it, in-detail birth scenes, swearing etc.)
- No Bullying or homophobic/racist comments. We are LGBTQ friendly roleplay!
- No Gary/Mary Sues! Please try and make balanced characters with both bad and good traits.
- Please try and post more than just one-liners and be grammatically correct to the best of your ability. It isn't fun if we can't understand what you mean
- No Kit Stealing or Character stealing without approval from that character's owner!
- Don't do any major effects to the clan without asking me first please! (Rogue/Loner attacks and kills the medicine cat and half the clan, the clan is starving suddenly, a greencough outbreak etc.)
- No cats with overly unnatural traits. (Wings, purple fur, green-stripes, etc.) I'll allow markings that don't look that normal (black cat with tabby white stripes for example) But I won't take cats with unnatural colors or extra limbs.
- No killing off other's characters without approval!
- LGBTQ Characters are allowed! Please accept this and if can't then maybe try and find another roleplay.
- Please try to be fairly active. I'll understand if something comes up suddenly, but atleast try and get on to send me a message saying you'll be gone for a bit. If after 7 days I haven't heard anything from you, I'll put your cat into hiatus, allowing others to take over your rank. If after 2 weeks there's still nothing, I'll have the cat killed off/run away from the clan!
- You may only have one high-ranked cat at a time! Give other people a chance to have high ranks ^-^ (You can not be both the Sootclan deputy and the Frostclan Leader at the same time)
- Apprentices can have crushes on other apprentices or warriors, but they can not become mates until they are warriors.
- Let others have a chance to shine! Don't hog the spotlight all the time c:
- And Have fun!
If you've read all the rules put 'Snowflake' in your joining form!
Frostclan
The FrostClan camp lies at the center of their territory (which covers approximately 2.9 kilometers in all directions away from the camp) inside a giant cave, carving itself into the side of a giant stony hill. Throughout most of the territory, small shrubs, pine trees, fallen trees, and boulders dot the landscape, often covered in a thick veil of snow. A pool of water that lies directly beneath a waterfall provides a source of fresh, unfrozen drinking water all-year-round for the Clan, and is located a small distance south of the cave, on the other side of the massive stony hill. Rocky mountains form a barrier to the north, the ocean lies far off in the distance towards the West, a small Twolegplace resides to the north of the FrostClan territory, and a charred forest lies South of the camp. (It is in this torched piece of woods that FrostClan's rival Clan lives: SootClan, formerly known as PineClan.) In addition, several shallow brooks and streams crisscross the FrostClan territory, and a sparse spruce forest also lies to the East. Their most common prey are hares, snowy owls (as wells as other species of birds), and mice. FrostClan is generally known as being compassionate, charismatic, adaptable, and accepting.
Sootclan
SootClan, formerly known as PineClan, resides directly south of FrostClan. They have a much smaller territory than their rival neighbor's, and the gradually approaching threat of Twolegs building new Thunderpaths and Twoleg nests to the East and Southeast, as well as the forest they live in - which was once lush and full of prey - now almost completely reduces to ashes, doesn't help their situation. The camp is surrounded by numerous closely-knit pine trees and large boulders that act as a natural defense. Other than that however, there is truly nothing remarkable about their territory, and everything about itscreams "desperation mode". Their diet typically includes hare (which they normally acquire by hunting in FrostClan territory), mice, and ravens. However, they commonly resort to scavenging food to survive, with practices including dragging away creatures that were killed on Thunderpaths, eating rotting meat that they may find littering their territory, and sometimes even rummaging through Twoleg garbage bins. (**Because of this very demanding and unforgiving lifestyle, SootClan has been losing members at a somewhat alarming rate as of late, either through starvation, or because some simply abandon their Clan and either attempt to join FrostClan, or they choose to live with Twolegs, or as rogues.**) SootClan is commonly referred to as being much more wary around strangers, [just as] adaptable, dauntless, and its members are, in general, much better fighters compared to those of FrostClan**
