Lars was glad when Taylor started to rage. That would take the attention off of his wings. He stuffed the trench coat into his bag, which was sitting behind him on the ground.
When Taylor approached the fire, Lars leaned away from him. He felt like Taylor was saying what everyone else was feeling, only he had the audacity and shamelessness to do so. He jerked away from the fire to make room, the padlock and chains jingling softly. Taylor was cocky and arrogant, but for now he just wanted to eat in peace. The sudden movement sent the padlock smacking into one of his wings, and he gritted his teeth. That definitely did not feel good. He reached behind his back to still the heavy metal lock, watching Taylor storm.
It was then that he threw his note in the fire, and a letter spelled out in smoke. It took him a little to realize it formed the letter. Picking up a stick, he scratched it into the ground. M. Mycle did the same, feeding his letter into the fire to make an O. Lars added the letter, getting himself and MO.
Curious to see what would happen, he took out his own letter, and tossed it into the fire. It crackled and burned for a second, before it too released a letter. U.
He marked the letter on the ground. MOU. What was that supposed to mean? Was it scrambled? "Someone else put in your letter. Let's see if we can figure this out."

Christina had been sitting in the back of the group, trying to drown out Taylor's whining, she would stand up and do something, but there had already been enough fights today and she didn't feel like dealing with him. The letters in smoke however, caught her attention. That was... interesting. Maybe they finally figured out how to get their next clue as to how to save Arura from war. Hopefully, or if Taylor was right and all of this was bs at least they might know who did it. Slowly standing up, Christina took her note out of her pocket and walked over to the fire, tossing it into the flames, watching them crawl all over the paper and the white script turning black and burning up into the night. Then smoke began to come from the fire, settling in the air above the flickering flames and settling into a shape. N

Rai was stopped from taking those few extra steps forward. Ezra. Being helpful. Being smart. Rain was pissed though. Any of those vampires that came back could have been his sister. He'd already lost his leg, he was sorely tempted to rip it off and chuck it at Taylor to make a point. No. Rai was keeping that hidden under his clothes, he didn't have the pride to flaunt it, he'd keep it to himself. (He wasn't self-conscious, just smart, really)
Now everyone was tossing their letters into the fire. M.O.U.N.
He snarls to himself. What if there was something they were missing on the letters and they were just tossing them in the fire. He gives Taylor a seething look and fists his letter in his hands. He doesn't want to toss it in, to be bitter, to be petty, because they don't know what they're doing just tossing it in, "What if there's more on these letters and we're just burning them?"

Ezra tipped his head to one side, surprised at what Rai was saying. He gently released his grasp on the vampire, frowning up as more and more symbols appeared in the smoke. Lars had the sense to copy it down, but... whatever it was meant nothing to the omega. He was completely illiterate, so all he saw was some strange squiggles above the fire. He turned his attention back to the vampire, knowing that all he was doing was being petty.
"Is there some significance in the smoke squiggles?" He asked softly, just so the vampire could hear. He didn't want to draw any attention to himself. There was no reason to ask the entirety of them, especially if Taylor understood these strange symbols. He was nervous that he'd be mocked for that, although he didn't know that it was uncommon to be illiterate. He just thought that Taylor was more knowledgeable, and that the others were throwing it in to follow his lead.
The white haired wolf glanced up, studying them again as he tried to figure out how they even made any sense. "Well, then I suppose we'll be back to square one again," He added just a bit louder, contributing to the conversation just a little bit.

Taylor watched his smoke M start to slowly form into a word as more people started throwing their notes into the fire. This was it, this was the clue or sign he'd been waiting for. They finally had a lead or something. M O U N. What could that be? Is it spelling out something? Is it some word puzzle? Maybe we have to go find somebody... He thought, putting his fingers to his chin and staring at the smoke. He glanced up and saw Ezra and Rai standing near the fire with their notes. If it had worked with everyone else's, then Taylor knew their notes would do something. "Guys toss your note in the fire, this might be an actual clue or something." Taylor told them both, looking over at Remi and Lillith too. There had to be some sort of meaning to the letters, Mountain, maybe? Taylor couldn't think of any famous mountains in Arura.

Rai sighs and his posture slumps. Of course Ezra was playing mediator. He was a good guy. Here Rai was being petty, being angry- even after the huge fight that just happened. He looks back at Ezra and furrows his brows. The squiggles? The letters- ...did packs not teach Omega's how to read? It looked like there was a good chance there was.... Someone like Ezra would probably learn quickly, and Rai grumpily thinks he would flourish in an environment that didn't literally beat him down.
"They're uh..letters." Rai mumbles just loud enough for Ezra to hear. Maybe they could look at Lar's writing and he'd show him, "So far it doesn't make sense...an M, an o, an u, a n." Moun didn't mean anything to them.
Taylor didn't even acknowledge the rise he got out of Rai. He didn't want to. If these letters were important, it was already too late, and he didn't have it in him to fight Taylor when Taylor was so mesmorized by the magic smoke.
"Fine." Rai relents. He tosses his letter in and a smokey pink T floated. He nudged Ezra back and Rai sits down with his chin resting on his palm. "Did your pack not teach you your letters Ezra?" He asks quietly, "I could teach you sometime. I don't know if I'd be the best teacher but...offer stands?"

Ezra shifted,a little uncomfortable at the look that Rai had given him, like his question was out of the ordinary. His shoulders slumped forward, as if he were expecting to be chastised, his head drooping a little before hearing the quiet mumbling. He spelled out these "letters", but they made absolutely no sense to him. But Moun reminded him of mountains.
He watched as Rai threw his letter in, another "letter" forming. It looked like two lines stacked against each other, but it still had no significance to the young omega. He just tipped his head to one side in confusion, before throwing his in after his friend. He might as well follow what everyone else was doing.
His went up in a puff of light purple smoke, forming a strange symbol- three lines. Two of the lines were leaning against each other, kind of like a triangle, while the third one went across the top: A. It looked pretty weird, to Ezra.
The white haired wolf went back to sit down next to Rai, flinching slightly at the nudge, but recovering quicker than last time. He glanced over with wide green eyes, clearly wanting to know what the question was. "N-no, Omegas aren't allowed to read..." He explained softly, a sad look on his face, before he brightened at the offer. "I'd really like that. Thank you," He added, always wanting to learn how to read.

Ezra kept flinching when Rai touched. Right. He had just told himself to be better about that. He mumbles an apology for that.
Mounta.
Unless this was a name he had never seen, that was getting close to mountain. He wondered if anyone else was getting to that conclusion.
"Well... Then hey, you can be the first." He gives a friendly chuckle, "that's bragging rights, right?"

Ezra seemed so excited. Rai smiles fondly. Now he just had to be a decent teacher otherwise he'd look pretty silly if people paid attention.
"Then you could always go teach other Omega's too, if the packs won't do it."
They just needed the others to toss theirs in then they'd know for sure.
"That's what I'd guess. I mean, unless it's somebody's name...that's the only thing that makes sense?"

Ezra glanced at Rai, wondering why he had such a fond smile on his face. He tipped his head to one side, about to ask what the expression was all about, before making the comment of teaching the others about reading and his eyes widened in horror. He shook his head vigorously, his anxiety in his eyes at the thought of that.
"Oh no, I couldn't do that. I'd be punished if someone snitched," He said quickly, his eyes wide, swallowing lightly at the thought, before he changed his thoughts back towards the puzzle.
"I don't think it'd be a person- this is spelled papers that were spelled 18 years ago in a warring state. There'd be a strong chance that person was killed." He said flatly, tipping his head to one side.

"ah ah ah! Alright!" Rai waves his hands, "don't have to do that if you don't want to." He didn't want to know what kind of punishment he'd receive... Rai figured it would be harsh.
He looks back to the smoke. It really was a mystery. A frustrating one. "They could be dead, but they could also be alive and just...older. easier to track down once we for sure find them"

(been slow here a bit but... Uhm. Since thr last update I think Taylor has also managed to insult Rai {by not really being affected/caring about the war}. Ezra played mediator and chilled him out. Taylor tossed his note in the fire and the smoke is creating letters which are starting to spell out mountain and everyone is sort of sitting around! Kinda awkward for everyone)
At least Ezra's smile was relaxing. Ezra wouldn't do anything to toss himself in too much harm, and that was good to hear.
"I suppose that's true. If they had this prophecy and had any information to help us they wouldn't just want it to be able to disappear so easily. We need that information."
They needed more clues, more smoke, more letters. They needed guidance of SOME sort. They were just teenagers. This was a lot.

(okayy I will do that, its probably going to be a bit short, but I promise it will get better lol )
Lilith had been watching everything going on, though she hadn't really said anything since the beginning. She just sort of observed everything. Really the only sound she had made was a snort of sorts as she held back a laugh when the Shapeshifter reveled himself. It was rather amusing to see that one of the boys has been cooing over him with no idea that he was in fact a Shapeshifter. Of course she had no idea either, she hadn't really paid that much attention to any odd things that gave it away. Of course that made sense though why would some random cat be out here?
Time passed and she watched as the others threw their letters into the flame, so she guessed her was her turn. She pulled out the letter and looked at it for a moment more, it didn't have anything else of importance right? The young woman shrugged and threw it into the flame. T. That was her letter, mount? Mountain right? It had to be what other word started with those letters. "Mountain?" Her voice was soft like she was thinking, what mountains were here? There were none on the main lands. "Devil's peek? That is the only mountain..if that is the word i mean.." Lilith narrowed her eyes at the fire. What would they need from a prison? Was she really going have to walk all the way home again? That was going to be awful she had just made that journey and thought it was over. At least she had hopped. Then again, saving the world meant they would have to walk right?

Mycle frowned, counting in his head. "It really seems like that's where it's going," he said. "There are eight of us; eight letters. Eight letters in the word 'mountain.'" He tilted his head back and tapped his chin in thought. "I've read about Devil's Peak - it's basically where the worst of the worst are kept." He couldn't help noticing the flip-flopping of his stomach. "Does - this doesn't mean we have to go... there? But the Reapers are said to be incredibly strict on keeping everyone else out."

"Nah. It could be some horrible prank. Some sort of trap. A really odd gag that we just aren't in on" Rai drawls. It'd suck. For one Rai thought he was pretty great so to for sure be that? That'd be cool.
"If so it's elaborate. Maybe too in-depth. As much as we can speculate that it's all a prank, we also don't have proof for that either. I think we gotta let it play out." Rai flops onto the ground with an exaggerated movement and kicks one leg over another. "It could however mean we are the best of the best! That we are people who are going to stop this, that we'll help out people!" He grips his crystal in his hand, "and maybe it isn't a prophecy but maybe as we travel we can find something that does help. We all know nobody is being active in trying to stop this. People are worried about their own skins." Maybe he should have more faith, people could be better than that. The thought makes him scowl. This SHOULDN'T be their problem. They were kids. Many of them hadn't done anything wrong. It was a sick joke. If it was meant to be that meant something though. He just doesn't know what.
"the mountain seems like a good bet though. It'll take a bit to get there. It'll be dangerous, sure. It's the only lead we have though. I suppose we better get ready..." He pushes himself up to his elbows, "I cleared that area by the wall. I'm gonna set my sleeping stuff over there, get ready for bed and adventure I guess?" Rai shoots them a grin and chuckles. Adventure awaits.

Christina shrugged listening to the others talk about their plans and how the letters spelled out mountain, sure, Devil's Peak was probably one of the last places that she wanted to go, but the thing was, this was their only lead. Were they just supposed to wander Arura forever and try and save the world? Sure the whole thing could be fake, but it was a very, very elaborate prank to seal smokey letters inside notes and give them to a bunch of eighteen year-olds who did actually appear to be quite powerful. "Guys...I think we have to go to Devil's Peak." She stated, glancing around the other seven, trying to look sincere. They had to stop the war, hundreds of thousands of innocents were slaughtered by the Hunters and if they had a chance to rid Arura of them and it meant going to some horrid prison, then so be it. Christina didn't like the way some Reapers liked to use their powers around other species, but she being on herself meant they had a slight upperhand. "I know it's a long shot with the stupid letters, but it's all we have."

Mycle chewed his lip. "If - if that's okay with everybody," he murmured. Despite his uncertainties about wandering into a Reaper-guarded prison, there was surge of excitement - that part of him that longed for adventure, the restlessness that jumped up and leaped with joy that the prospect of adventuring to Devil's Peak. I'll have to do more research, he thought - perhaps about the structure of the prison, if there were any exceptions to entering - but he doubted he'd get wi-fi out here. Maybe there's a library on the way?
His yawn took him by surprise. "I guess, yeah, bed, then," he said, smiling a little at Rai. That sounded like a good idea, actually - a weariness was starting to set in into his limbs. It'd been a pretty tense - and at times frightening - day.

"I think we should go, too," Ezra added, nodding his agreement before yawning, showing off his sharp canines as he did so. He flicked his soft grey and orange ears as a fly buzzed around them, his back slouching a little. Their best bet was that, and if it was a dead end, hey, at least they tried, right? He glanced around the others, realizing that they were all planning on going to bed, so he supposed he should, too. He closed his eyes for a few moments, allowing himself to shift, forgetting how strange it was for others to watch this process. His bones popped out of place, fingers elongated and pain seared through his body as he shifted into his wolf-form. After a good minute instead of seeing the white-haired male, a texas grey wolf was sitting in its place. It was larger than most natural wolves, but painfully small and thin for a werewolf. The dog let out a half-yawn, half-whine before standing and shaking the dirt off of his fur and padded over to the deer. He nudged around the carcass, finding that one of the legs and tore it off. He padded away from the group, so Mycle couldn't see him eat the raw meat and tore into the biggest meal he'd probably ever had. He soon finished the leg, leaving only the bone and wiping his tongue over his muzzle. He then settled on the outskirts of the camp, forgetting that he could sleep closer to the others, laying down a good ten feet away from the others. He was always more comfortable sleeping in his wolf form. He stayed in close proximity to Rai and Mycle, even though he was still away from the camp. Old habits die hard.
