Beauty and the Boss
Muse A is the daughter of a man with a serious gambling problem. He’s a sweet man, always doting on Muse A with her favorite books and rare flowers, but he’s up to his ears in debt after borrowing money from the wrong people. One afternoon, Muse A’s father is confronted by Muse B, the ruthless crime boss of the city. Few people have ever seen Muse B’s face, as his henchmen usually do his dirty work, but everyone knows his name and cowers in fear appropriately. Muse A’s father owes Muse B a considerable debt, which he cannot pay. Rather than kill the man, Muse B offers a trade – the man's beautiful daughter in exchange for the forgiveness of his financial debts. He has one night to make this deal happen or Muse B will come for him. When Muse A’s father explains the predicament to her, she is willing to go, as long as it ensures the safety of her family and her father promises to put an end to his troublesome gambling habits. Muse A moves in to Muse B’s mansion outside of town the following day. From the moment Muse A arrives, Muse B is on his best behavior, lavishing her with gifts – a library wing for her, a pretty garden filled with the finest, imported roses – jewelry, and so on. Gradually, Muse A comes to see that Muse B isn’t a horrible person, behind closed doors, but the circumstances of their arrangement (and the terrible crimes he commits as a crime boss) make it difficult for her to fall in love with him as he’s fallen in love with her. Each time Muse B proposes marriage, Muse A refuses. Muse A becomes terribly homesick and begs to be allowed to visit her father. Muse B allows her to leave him as long as she returns to him within a week’s time. While Muse A is away, Muse B is attacked by a disloyal bunch of conspiring underlings. When Muse A returns, she finds Muse B wounded and left for dead in his home office. She realizes in this moment that she does love him and if he recovers she’ll marry him. Her quick actions save his life and once he is well enough, they marry.

characters & descriptions
Eleanor "Ellie" Bea Goldstein female ; Lea
This young woman stands at about 5'11, which is quite tall for her gender and those in her family - at least on her fathers side. There's no defined curves or bones about her, she's just filled out enough to be healthy and normal. She's more on the thin side, but her cheek bones are obvious and you can't fill her collar bones with a lake. Her jawline is defined and she has a sharp nose and nearly cat-like eyes - which are amber, a gold-ish brown. Her hair is long and reaches just past her bosom. It's wavy, so when it is straightened it can be longer. Her hair is a rich chestnut color. If you catch her on the streets, most days she has her hair up - with loose hair all over the place, framing her face - and she'll most likely be dressed in something comfy, like leggings and tunic styled shirts. She has no abundance of scars, but she does have a little faded scar on her right cheek from a cat scratch when she was young.
She gives off an air of child-like wonder, but still that of a well-educated young woman. Pretty much, she looks like someone who has been well educated but still faces the world as a new experience every day. Eleanor, or Ellie as her friends and family call her, is an incredibly curious young woman who is often reading and asking questions in order to learn. She can be a snoop and sometimes gets herself into trouble with her prying. It is very difficult to get her mad, in most cases, but she's very quick to defend those that she loves and would do anything for her father, even - dramatically - put her life on the line. She's also intelligent, sometimes randomly spewing facts. She is a gentle soul who likes to take care of those in need. She's quite spoiled and is used to getting gifts, but she tries not to expect them and she is very aware of her situation. She despises lying and will avoid it at all costs. Ellie loves reading and wants to someday have a huge library of her own.
Oscar Thomas Kennedy ; Hades 33 ; male ; intentional fc -- david gandy
Standing at an intimidating 6’4, Oscar is lean but sturdily-built, with well-toned, visible muscles throughout his body. He has olive skin that is riddled with scars on his torso, hidden from sight. He is a ruggedly handsome and attractive man, sporting a stubbled beard. His hair is wild and dark, and is pushed to the back in waves. He has thick, dark brown eyebrows that match his hair, and he has slight crows feet by his eyes. His large, almond shaped eyes are a light blueish grey. He has a sharp face and noticeable cheekbones that stick out. He always has a very stern facial expression, and very rarely does he laugh or smile. Probably his most noticeable facial feature is the scar from his right temple to his mid-right cheek. But he has others from different situations, whether it be knife scars or bullet wounds. Most are littered on his torso and back, and he has a couple on his hands and wrists.
He may be a ruthless crime boss, but he is a businessman through and through. He’s highly intelligent, naturally curious and skeptical of others. That doesn’t mean he’s not a gentleman. He knows how to be charming and sweet, and he is not merciless. He has an outward persona: the crime boss. He has to be ruthless, harsh and even sometimes cruel to gain the respect and treatment he deserves. That’s why he’s the boss. But he also has a hidden side, buried deep within. He can be sweet and sensitive as well. He has a pretty even temper, but once he’s mad, he’s mad, and he’s terrifying when he is angered.
Is also known by his moniker, Hades, to his business partners and to his men.

Eleanor "Ellie" Bea Goldstein ; female ; hx of sx “What a terrible thing that happened to that young man, don’t you think?” the whiney voice of the old woman in the back of the book shop caught the attention of a young woman, poking around a shelf filled with romance novels. The young woman raised her head and for a moment, read the spine of the first book she saw, before turning her head, just slightly, to see the woman, talking to another. Gossips. Eleanor grinded her teeth, leaning ever-so-slightly in the direction of the women, wanting to hear their conversation, “Oh I know! Poor fool, letting his money get into the hands of that-“ they stopped and Eleanor quickly snapped her head back to look at the books in front of her.
Moments later, she heard a rude huff, and the shuffling of feet. With a quick glance, she knew, they were gone. She groaned, before picking a book off the shelf and heading toward the front cash register. She set down the book, smiling at the cashier, before beginning to dig through her bag, “Sorry Missus, but your dads accounts are all-a frozen.”
“Hmm?” she said, looking up with confusion on her face, “What? How would you-“
“I cannot sell that book to you. You best be to getting home.” Eleanor felt her stomach turn, she was hurt – how dare this cashier talk to her like this. She hadn’t even gotten her card out yet and they were already assuming she didn’t have any money? She was visibly offended. Eleanor let out a sigh, not in the mood to fight the cashier, and moved to put the book back. Before she could however, the book was gone and already being walked back to its self. Internally, Eleanor groaned, but turned away and walked out of the shop.
Lucky for her, the shop was only a block from her home and she made it home in no time, barely gasping for breath. She took a deep breath, looking at her home from across the street, and wondered what she was coming home to. She loved her father, more than anything in the world, but his gambling habits were becoming more and more of a problem, they were running out of money, and she felt bad for buying books with his money, but he insisted and he always asked what she bought and always asked to see it and there was no lying to the man.
While lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice the vehicle parked outside the small home the two of them shared. When she did spot it, however, her stomach dropped. What did it mean? Eleanor grasped her bag tightly and crossed the street, making her way up the front steps, and pushed opened the front door, “Daddy, I’m home! Who’s car is that, out in front of the house? If you know.”

“How long has it been?” He asked, his silhouette spoke from the balcony.
“Over six months, sir.” One of his men responded.
“And no payment?”
“None, sir.”
The man had been fidgeting with one of the roses that grew around his large mansion, until he crushed it as he enclosed the flower with his fist. He tossed the remains of the flower off his balcony as he re-entered his room. The men closed the balcony doors behind him as the man revealed his face into the lights of the room.
“Let’s move.”
—
Hades, as he was known to most, was just another moniker he went by to make his business deals easier. But many from the city knew his name, so he only used it when he felt like toying around. Most people knew him as Oscar Kennedy, the crime boss of the city of Newrock. He dealt in almost everything, ranging from illegal drugs to arms trafficking, and of course, loan sharking.
He hoped the man they were visiting today had enough time to repay the $3 million he’d borrowed over a year ago, but as did most clients, they never did. Usually, he’d send in his men to kill him off and sell his valuables and add to his profits, but Goldstein was different. The difference was his daughter, Eleanor. Unlike her father, she was a smart individual, and had a strong personality. But she was also beautiful. And Oscar didn’t want to admit, but he was a bit smitten over the girl. He knew better than to mix business with pleasure, and he felt bad for the girl he’d developed a school-boy crush on, but her father owed him money, and he was very serious about his business.
He took a single vehicle and drove to the Goldstein home, and his men followed him inside as he confronted the older man about his money.
“M-Mr. Kennedy, I- I swear I’ll have the money for you within the month. I s-swear!” The old man started to plead as soon as he took two steps inside.
“My, my, Mr. Goldstein. Is that any way to treat a guest to your lovely home?” Oscar clicked his tongue in mocking shame. He unbuttoned his suit jacket before sitting down in front of the large mahogany desk.
Goldstein immediately grabbed a glass and poured him a drink with shaking hands. Oscar didn’t take it immediately, but one of his men did, and he took a sip first. There was a long moment of silence before the henchman shattered the glass just behind Goldstein’s head. The elder man shakily served Oscar another glass, and this time, Oscar took it, reassured the drink nor the glass was poisoned.
“Sit down, James. I’m not here to hurt you.” Oscar’s pale blue eyes flickered from the man’s face to the chair.
“Please, Mr. Kennedy. I beg mercy. It’ll be awhile before I can repay your $3 million.” James Goldstein pled. “I have a daughter to take care of.”
“You know, you really should’ve thought of that before borrowing my money. I’m sure you’ve heard what I do to people who can’t repay what they owe.” Oscar scoffed, twirling the glass in his hands.
“Please! I’m sorry, Mr. Kennedy. I’ll do anything. Please.” Goldstein begged.
Soon after he spoke, Oscar heard the front door open, and all four of his guards reached for their guns.
“No, please ! It’s just my daughter.” James Goldstein said, as her voice rang out from the front door and got closer to the office.
Oscar raised a hand, letting the guards know to relax. He stood up from his seat, buttoning up his suit jacket as he swigged the last of the drink from his glass.
“I’ll make you a deal, James. I’ll forgive the debts you owe me —”
“Oh, thank you ! Thank you, Mr. Kennedy!” James's face shone brightly.
“But in exchange, give me your daughter.” Oscar finished his sentence.
“What?” James’s face went pale at the mention of his daughter.
“I’ll give you a day to decide on the deal. Think carefully, James. For the wellbeing of your daughter.” Oscar said, placing a single white lily from his suit pocket onto the table, knowing fair well what that flower symbolized.
“I’ll show myself out.” Oscar gave the man a simple smile, full of subtle meanings, before he and his men left the house. He walked past Eleanor Goldstein on his way out, and he merely gave her a friendly nod before leaving the house.
As Oscar drove back to his large mansion across the city, he pondered as to what James would do. Would he give up his daughter to save their lives or would he let them both perish for his foolishness? Only time would tell — Oscar was looking forward to the man's decision.

The first thing Eleanor heard when she came in through the front door - and after shouting for her father - was muffled voices. They were coming from her fathers study. She was stepping through the small house, past a couch and a tiny bookshelf, when a party of men exited the study. She raised an eyebrow, confused, and quickly thereafter, concerned - she recognized one of the- the man she recognized gave her a friendly nod.
For a few moments, she couldn't place a name on the man. As his henchman - as she decided was best to consider them, as a whole that is - passed her and she opened her mouth, prepared to say something as they hardly acknowledged her, she realized who the man was. She took a step back, watching as they left, her jaw hanging slightly as they disappeared beyond the threshold of the home and toward their vehicle. Shut your mouth, Ellie, you'll catch flies, she thought to herself.
Quickly, she rushed to the door, only to be met with the screen door crashing inches from her face. She stared, wide eyed as their car pulled away and they were gone. Oscar Kennedy. Definitely not the Kennedy she would want in her home - she wondered if there were any relation. Dad.
Eleanor slammed the front door closed, startled a bit herself, as she locked it and rushed to the study, "Daddy? Is everything alright?"
She entered the study, worried that she'd see something terrible. Eleanor had no idea what the crime boss had wanted from her father, but if she knew anything about the things people in this town said, or about Oscar Kennedy, he never left those he spoke to in one piece - of course, that was what she had heard and you can't believe everything you hear...right?
(soooooo sorry my responses are so short™ and I'm taking so long to respond)
