Aspentrail padded into the training clearing, padding all the way to the other side while motioning for Dustpaw to stay where he was. "Attack me," she ordered.
Softpaw noticed the leaves were still green and fresh, so she narrowed her eyes and crept forward. Even though the leaves were not yet brown, she still put her paws down softly so as not to make vibrations. In a fluid motion, once she had gotten close enough, Softpaw pounced, catching the mouse in her paws and killing it with a bite to the neck.

Name: Brokentalon (AKA Eagletalon) Rank: Elder Description: An old, scruffy, brown tabby tom with once bright amber eyes. Because of his old age the fur around his muzzle, chest, paws, and eyes have begun to turn white. His back leg is bent all wrong due to an accident he had when he was a senior warrior. Brokentalon always has a scowl on his face, walks with a limp and is very slow, he mostly spends his time in the elders den. His build suggests that he was once very handsome and muscular when he was younger, but after the incident that made his leg lame, he's lost a lot of that muscle and due to time he's lost his striking good looks as well. Personality: The old tom is still rather bitter about what happened to him moons ago, he still had time to serve as a warrior and also the fact that his name was changed because of what happened. He's a lot better about it now, but it's left him with a rather unforgiving heart. Brokentalon used to be a kind, and brave tom but now he's just grumpy and gets easily annoyed. He does have a soft spot for kits as he's never had any of his own. Name: Honeypaw Rank: Apprentice Description: A rather pretty, short furred calico she-cat. She's got black, and golden splotches all over her pelt, but all of her toes are black and her tail is completely white with no calico markings at all. Her right eye is a brilliant golden with flecks of green around the pupil but her left eye is cloudy with a blueish tint, a scar running over that side of her face due to an encounter with some predator that left her completely blind in that eye. Personality: Honeypaw is seemingly fearless, despite her handicap she works even harder to be just as good, or even better, as everyone else. Her hearing is better on her left side just because she can't see a thing on that side of her. She's typically a sweet cat, trying to be understanding of everyone rather than judging a cat based on looks, what they can or can't do or trying to look beyond first impressions. It's hard for her to get mad but when she does she blows up. Because it takes her longer to really nail down a move, she gets upset really easily with herself, getting frustrated and there are times where she completely shuts down or she pushes through and triumphs. (I was thinking maybe Tornheart would be a good mentor for her?) (Might add more characters later o: ) Me: Arrives 5,000 years late with StarBucks Adding them now! And yeah, Tornheart would be great with Honeypaw. Can try to set something up with them if you'd like, though be warned that I'll be poofy because the last few days my brain seems to have decided that it would be fun to go on a major downward spiral again.

(ahaha i totally know that feeling. I'd love to RP them out now if you're available. We could maybe RP as much as you can and then when you need to leave or just lose inspiration (happens to me all the time) we call it good? Just so neither of our characters are frozen?) I'll be here for a while, probably. [working on a drawing, though, so expect me to vanish for random stretches. also, hoo boy is trying to colorpick hard when the only options available to you are heavily doctored screenshots/other pieces of fanart] And, sounds good to me! Having your characters be frozen for figuratively all of eternity is annoying.

(oh heck, what are you drawing? also do you want me to start or you?) [Just some fanart of a character from a dating simulator (Robert Small from Dream Daddy lol). It's not coming out too well, but that's partly because Photoshop won't me resize things for some reason. Don't know why. And, would you mind starting?]

Honeypaw had just emerged from the elders den after grooming their fur for ticks, hating that she always smelled like the mouse bile afterwards but she didn't particularly care for the actually doing it part. She returns the mouse bile to the medicine cats den then finds herself sitting in the middle of camp, turning her head to glance around the camp's activities. Sometimes she forgets that she has to physically move her head or body to see some things, it wasn't something she was quite used to yet but she was learning. After a short while she spots her mentor, a gentle purr erupting from her chest and she rises to her paws, beginning to approach the tom. He smelled her coming almost immediately; who wouldn't, with the stench of mouse bile clinging to her patched pelt? Tornheart inclined his striped head in the direction of his apprentice, pausing in his wash to get to his feet. The territory had definitely changed since the last time he was here; subtly, yes, but it would take some time getting used to all the same. "Honeypaw. Having fun?" There was a note of amusement in his voice.

Maybe she should've groomed herself before going over to anyone, but she always got excited when spotting her mentor. Honeypaw sort of put Tornheart on a pedestal, if anyone asked her about him she would just gush on and on about how he's the best mentor ever and she learns so much from him and that he's really great. How could she not? He was one of the few cats in the clan that really knew the struggles she went through, then again she only had it half as bad as he did. "Actually, jokes on you Tornheart because I did have fun. A lot of fun." She caught the tone of his voice and decided to play along. [she's adorable omg] He hesitated briefly before scratching his ear with a paw. "I must admit, I'm amazed. Wouldn't think anyone liked the scent of bile," the tabby and white tom joked. "But, at least it makes it easier to smell you..Though I'm pretty sure any prey'll be running away for miles."

(ahaha! thanks, she's a new character I'm trying out ) Her smile falters at the realization that because Tornheart scented her, then everyone could scent her. Honeypaw whines now and lays her head back for a moment before looking up to her mentor again. "I really don't mind searching the elders for ticks, but why does mouse bile have to smell awful? They should call it awful bile." She grumbles, her tail-tip flicking about. Then she suddenly perks up. "Does this mean you were planning on taking me out hunting, then?" Honeypaw asks him with an excited purr. "That they should..Maybe you should talk to whoever named it?" Tornheart lets out a chuckle at the thought. Of course, that was nigh-impossible, but the idea of Honeypaw trying to reason with a bunch of crusty old cats who were no doubt half-faded from StarClan (or, well, wherever), was pretty funny. At her next words, he made an affirmative noise. "I was, but since you smell so bad, well. That'll have to wait a bit."

But it wasn't much of a threat in his eyes. "I'll wash." The Chausie mix snorts loudly, and no doubt he would have rolled his eyes had he understood the gesture. "So even if you did, it wouldn't make much of an impact." Tornheart sat down as well; he wasn't going anywhere soon. Might as well.

"No, you probably wouldn't," he quips, and bends down slightly to wash her ears. "Then what would your warrior name be? Honeysmell? Bit of a clunky-sounding name, but would be fitting." Tornheart mumbles through a mouthful of fur. "At least you'd keep the badgers and foxes away. That's a comfort."

"Wouldn't complain if they did. Better than being named after something I've never been able to actually see," he responds. "'Honeybile'. Hmm. Not bad. Maybe I'll..have to talk to the leader about that." The pale tabby grins. "Eventually. And, would anyone? Foxes are nasty."

"But. Here's a crazy thought. What if I did?" The skinny tabby chuckles softly. Of course it's a joke, but it would still be funny. Mortifying, but certainly humorous to a few. Not that he would ever know it (at least, it wasn't likely), but he definitely seemed to have gained his sense of humor from his absent father. All pranks and jokes. "Very well," he mock grumbles, and settles into licking her fur clean yet again.

( wheeze I'm getting sleepy, i cant make it much longer. Also I know I said that we could just drop the RP but I'm really loving their interaction and kinda want to keep it going if you're down. But I think I'm gonna bounce in a minute to get some sleep) [I'd be down for more mentor/apprentice interactions! And, night man. Sleep well.]

Dustypaw stopped, the brown-furred tom pausing and tilting his head slightly as he thought for a moment. There didn't seem like an easy way to go about this... Might as well go for direct. He thought, and lowered his stance slightly. The tom let his paws shift in the dirt and sand, before charging towards Aspentrail. Dustypaw didn't have an exact idea for how to attack her, but figured if thing's seemed to go badly charging her, he could always move around instead and try to get behind her. "I'm Impressed." Shadowbrook meowed, the she-cat dipping her head slightly. "Good kill." The black furred warrior padded closer to the apprentice. "Bury it somewhere you'll remember where it is, and then we'll keep going." She told the apprentice, before looking around the trees and grass.

Aspentrail sidestepped easily, swiping her paw under Dustpaw's front legs. She stood over him, her eyes laughing. "Get up," she ordered. "Try again." Softlaw found a recognizable log and buried the mouse next to it.
