“Well you look like a sorry sight.” Gingersplash scoffed as she dropped her squirrel on the prey pile, looking at Vulturesight with inspecting eyes. “Still worrying yourself out?” She teased. Sootflame lifted his head, hearing the hitch in Silverdusk’s breath. The old tom rasped. “Silverdusk, my love? Are you alright? Has something startled you?” He asked. Vulturesight opened his mouth for a retort, initially thinking he would reply that it was the same with her, but that wouldn't really be true. Gingersplash was strong and well-fed, like most of the cats in the Clan. "Have you ever heard of a Clan with three medicine cats? I haven't." He wondered out loud, genuinely interested to hear the young warrior's thoughts despite her usual snark. She was connected to the Clan heritage far more than he was, after all. He had latched onto the Warrior Code immediately when he was an apprentice, but he wasn't too familiar with all of the Medicine Cat Code. He wondered if there were parts of their code that were broken. Silverdusk shook her head, confused and still somewhat disoriented at her momentary scare. Perhaps she had been having a nightmare and lost sense of where she was, but she didn't remember having one. "I'm alright, of course, but..." She meowed, touching her nose to Sootflame's cheek to ground herself, taking comfort in his scent, "It was strange. I woke up and didn't remember where I was for a moment."

The way I see it, the more medicine cats, the better off we are in battle...but, I do suppose it’s weird in a traditional sense. Clearly there’s gonna be a competition for approval.” She smirked. Sootflame pressed close to his mate, only to stiffen and look at her with concern. His ears fell a bit, and he swallowed. “And...has this happened before, my love?”

Perhaps Mosspool and Jasminepaw would be more eager than other medicine cats to prove themselves. Perfect for any manipulation - that is, if Slitherfoot had ill intentions. "Well, I hope they don't look up to Slitherfoot too much." He mumbled. He didn't admit it to anyone else that Slitherfoot's acceptance of Leafblaze had him uneasy. Silverdusk was quick to reply, "No." But she reconsidered, feeling a strange and horrible doubt settle over her. She had always confidently relied on her memory, but now she wasn't feeling as sure. "I don't... Think so." She admitted, shaking her head again.

If anyone catches you being all suspicious, they’ll get all up in bristles. Luckily, I find it intreauging, and my father can figure it out without me if he wants to.” She muttered, before shaking her head. “Alright, Vulturesight. Spit it out. What’s on your mind now?” Sootflame looked at her deeply, his old orange eyes gleaming with concern and care. “Do you want to ask Slitherfoot or Mosspool about it? Or try and remember with me?” He offered.

Rustlefoot was practicing her moves, her blind eyes focusing on nothing as she moved her paws, feeling the ground carefully. As soon as she felt the stick she was training with, she lashed out and swiped at it, hooking the stick and biting into it sharply. She flicked her short tail, turning her head towards Lynxtail's scent. Kestrelpaw shuffled shyly next to the apprentice's den, too shy to approach the other apprentices. He had only just become comfortable talking to his mentor openly. Heatherfrost sighed as he finished training his apprentice for the day. He looked around for Peachflower, wanting some time alone with her, without his clanmates chattering and bothering him. He paused, seeing her patching up the nursery, where his sister Shadowflower was curled up, often mourning all her lost kits. It made his heart ache. Solarpaw gave a smirk as she stalked towards Iciclepaw and the other apprentices, hoping to leap and pin one of them with her growing training. Yewberry stretched, noticing how his sister seemed more reluctant and unnerved lately. Deep in his chest, he feared she would leave the clan soon, now that her kits were older and that she had become even more conflicted. He knew he couldn't stop his sister, and that she had found something new and special in that Twolegplace group. But it was hard to know he would have to say good-bye again, and have to look after himself and Sunclan without his brave and strong sister at his side as she always had been. He padded towards Wolfshade, wanting the company of one of his beloved kits. Lynxtail purred and trotted over to his mate, touching his nose to her ear. "Nice job," he meowed. "I know you're a little out of practice after being in the nursery so long. Do you want to practice some of your moves on me?" Dewpaw practiced the move with Drizzlepaw. Bubblepaw, sitting nearby and watching, noticed Kestrelpaw and padded over to him, sitting next to him. "Hi Kestrelpaw," she meowed. Peachflower scented her mate approaching and turned around, purring happily when she saw him. She hurried over to him, touching noses with him. "Hi Heatherfrost. How was training?" Goldenfawn watched her daughter and her mate fondly. She didn't quite understand what Peachflower saw in this tom, but she loved seeing her daughter so happy. Iciclepaw waved her tail in greeting at her sister. Wolfshade purred a greeting and touched his nose to his father's ear. "Hi Yewberry. How are you?"

Jasminepaw sat by the fresh-kill pile grooming herself. When she noticed her mentor entering the camp with herbs, she raced over to join her. "Hi Slitherfoot! What are those herbs? What are they used for?" She bounced alongside her mentor on the way toward their den. Turtlepaw stretched and padded out of the apprentices' den, noticing Runningpaw. She walked over to him and sat down beside him. "Hi," she meowed. Rowanbranch padded out of the warriors' den, looking around. When he noticed Webwhisker he couldn't help but let out a purr, just watching her for a few moments while she lay in the sun. He couldn't stop himself from admiring her beauty in the warm sunlight. He trotted over to her and sat down beside her, giving her a lick on the ear in greeting. Blacktalon stalked through the forest, hunting. He tasted the air and caught the scent of squirrel. Dropping into the hunting crouch he started creeping toward his prey, unaware that Molenose was stalking the same squirrel. Slitherfoot nodded her head in greeting to Jasminepaw, blinking in surprise at her apprentice's youthful energy. She had grown accustomed to Mosspool's calm nature over the past moons. "I have lavender, tansy, and yarrow." She meowed in reply after setting down the herbs and pointing to them with her nose. "Flowers such as these are especially common in Newleaf and Greenleaf. Lavender is good for fever and can soothe an anxious cat, especially with its smell. Tansy is excellent for coughs, but it is very strong. Use it sparingly." She instructed. She nodded to the yarrow, "Yarrow is an especially useful herb. Its poultice can be used for wounds, but if a cat eats it, they will vomit. If a cat ever eats poison berries or anything else that can kill them, make them eat it." Runningpaw brightened up at Turtlepaw's company, rolling over to his side. "Hey! How is your training going? Have you learned anything really interesting?" He asked, eager for some intrigue. While many reveled in the Clan's current peace, the chattering apprentice was quickly becoming bored with his routine. Webwhisker opened an eye to glance at Rowanbranch, a loud purr in her throat. "It's very good to see you." She meowed, even though it hadn't been that long since they had last spoken. "I think the warmth will feel good for just a little bit longer before it starts to get too hot. You wanna go for a swim in the stream?" Molenose lay still for a moment longer before making her chase toward the squirrel, racing to catch it in her claws before it had a chance to run away. The squirrel had heard her though, and was starting to scurry toward the nearest tree. Jasminepaw nodded seriously, dipping her head to sniff each herb, pawing at them to get a good look at the individual leaves, making sure she could recognize them if she saw them again. "I think I remember smelling lavender before. Didn't you give that to Shadowflower after Jaykit died?" She tipped her head to one side, blinking up at her mentor. Turtlepaw purred at her friend's excitement, sitting beside him. "It's going pretty well! Newtleap is a good mentor. How is your training going? I hope Watershade isn't being too hard on you." Rowanbranch purred and touched his nose to her ear happily. "I would love to," he meowed, thinking to himself that he would happily do anything with her. Blacktalon leaped at the squirrel from the side as it ran toward the tree, grabbing it by the tail as it started climbing the tree, pulling it down and quickly killing it.

Rustlefoot gave a purr of gratitude, looking in her mate's direction before she nodded. "That would be helpful, thank you. I know I can't do very advanced moves, but my reaction time is really fast. So long as I can feel you, I'll be able to react." She remembered her mentor's training with a small smile. Kestrelpaw jumped a bit as Bubblepaw approached him. The anxious apprentice shuffled his paws as he stammered. "O-oh! Hello, Bubblepaw...uhm…" He trailed off, unsure how to talk to the other apprentice. His eyes scooted away shyly. Heatherfrost let her touch noses with him, his icy blue eyes trailing on his mate as he felt a sense of contentment near her. He did glance a bit at Goldenfawn, his eyes guarded yet greeting, before he looked back at his mate and huffed out in his usual voice. "As strenuous as always. The mousebrain gets clumsy a lot, but there's improvement, so I suppose it's worth it. And you? Still doing menial tasks?" He asked with the faintest hint of a tease. Solarpaw scowled and scoffed. "Iciclepaw! You're not supposed to give me away! Agh, now the element of surprise is lost!" She whined to her sister. Yewberry chuckled. "I'm doing as well as I always am. Rather bored, honestly...and a bit anxious, I suppose. I've just noticed how Leafblaze is acting again, and I just...I thought she'd fit back in easily but she seems like she's still lost here..." Leafblaze took a deep breath, looking back once at her kits, before she made her decision. Her mate and kits already knew what her choice was, and she had explained why. Now, she would have to do the same for Emberstar, and for the clan. She knew they would not like this...but she knew she was making the right choice. Thunderheart, their kits, and Sunclan would be fine, better even, without her. She padded towards Emberstar, looking up at the leader and mewing out. "Emberstar...I need to speak with you..."

Thunderheart watched out of the corner of his eye as Leafblaze approached the leader’s den. The large tom’s heart sank. He looked back to the kits, swatting a moss ball in their direction in hopes to distract them. “You have to be fast if you’re going to be warrior apprentices soon!” He meowed deeply, giving the kits an encouraging purr. Wrenkit scampered after it, not paying attention to what his mother was doing. “It’s mine! I got it!” Mosspool sunned her long black fur outside of the medicine cat den, her tail twitching lazily. She watched the camp, her eyes trailing to Leafblaze. Eveningkit chased after the mossball as well, the clever kit darting towards the ball as he glanced at his brother, making sure he could outspeed him if he got the ball first. He rushed past Jadekit, who was curled sadly in the nest. She knew her mother would leave soon, and that even though she had to go, it still was saddening. She wanted to be tough and strong like her mother, and now who would she look up to like that? She didn't want the other warriors or Queens! She narrowed her eyes, refusing to let herself cry.

Thunderheart couldn’t help but feel pride in the kit’s fierceness, so much like her mother. He settled down beside her, ignoring the kit’s defensive demeanor. “We will visit often. I don’t want her to go either. Jadekit, I love your mother more than you will ever know, and that’s why I’m letting her go back to her wanderers.” Jadekit looked sharply at her father, not understanding what he meant. “B-but if you love her, why are you letting her leave! Won’t you want her to stay with you, and with me and Wrenkit and Eveningkit?” She asked sadly.

She turned her head quickly, as she saw that Eveningkit had scampered up to the nest. Having listened in, the tom’s ears fell, but his voice was assured. “I think it means that even though mother’s going to leave, she’s always going to love us and father, and that she’s going somewhere where she will be happy. Uncle Yewberry says that we should always try and find a way to make the cats we love happy. And...and maybe mother will make other cats happy too.” His eyes sparked with thought and sad acceptance, wise beyond his short moons.

Bubblepaw blinked at him sympathetically, keeping a little distance from the shy apprentice, not wanting to intimidate him. "How is your training coming along?" She asked him kindly. "Rabbitfrost seems like a good mentor." Peachflower purred in amusement. "Go easy on him. I'm sure settling into the Clan can be hard." She pressed against his side happily. "Oh, you know, some things are the responsibility of the whole Clan. And it never hurts to spend some time with my mother." Iciclepaw rolled her eyes. "Oh please, if you want to sneak up on someone, you need to make sure you aren't seen!" Wolfshade rested his tail on his father's shoulder sympathetically. "I'm sure, whatever decision she makes, it will be the one that's best for her, the Clan, and her kits. I know it might hurt, but don't you think it might be better if she returns to the Twolegplace, if that's where she's really comfortable and happy?" Emberstar blinked in surprise when Leafblaze approached him. "Yes, Leafblaze, of course. Is something wrong?" He tilted his head to one side.

(Oooh so I was originally planning on killing off Shadowflower because I haven't used her in a while, but what if she maybe became a sort of foster-mother to Leafblaze's kits when she leaves? That would give her purpose again and maybe get her out of the depression of losing Jaykit. If you don't like the idea it's fine, but it could be some comfort to the kits and give me an excuse not to kill off a character that I did originally like a lot)

Hey)
Stonepaw laid near the apprentice silently watching the other apprentice practice their battle moves together making small notes on their moves to remember herself for later.

(Oooh so I was originally planning on killing off Shadowflower because I haven't used her in a while, but what if she maybe became a sort of foster-mother to Leafblaze's kits when she leaves? That would give her purpose again and maybe get her out of the depression of losing Jaykit. If you don't like the idea it's fine, but it could be some comfort to the kits and give me an excuse not to kill off a character that I did originally like a lot) (Dude you read my mind. Leafblaze was going to request once she speaks to the clan that Shadowflower or Skyflower care for her kits and be the attentive mother they deserve. So yes, definitely, Shadowflower can foster them. That also means Heatherfrost will be a protective uncle because she's already lost so many foster kits and he doesn't want her to hurt like that again.)

"Emberstar...I need to speak with you..." Lynxtail purred and nuzzled her. "Oh I know. I remember training with you. You beat me quite a few times." He swiped her ear playfully with a paw. "Oh, I'm sure you secretly let me win sometimes." Rustlefoot teased with good nature, moving to bump her muzzle into Lynxtail's shoulder before she turned to get into her battle stance. Kestrelpaw was a bit more comfortable with talking about his mentor. He mewed softly. "Oh, u-uh. Rabbitfrost is a really good mentor. H-he does his best to make me feel better when I get a bit nervous...and he's a really skilled warrior. W-what about your mentor?" Heatherfrost scoffed lightly. "If I go easy on anyone, they'll think I'm soft on them. I can't have that. Hng. Well, I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. Better that you're happy than anything else. I'd rather not see you angry or sad anytime." He puffed, inwardly grimacing at the thought of how his sweet mate could get when she was angry or upset. "I was! Just...just you were the only one that saw me, that's all!" Solarpaw puffed stubbornly, crouching down before she leaped at her sister, pulling her to the ground. "Hah! Sneak attack!" Yewberry looked at his son with warm eyes. Wolfshade had always been an understanding and kind tom, who put the happiness and safety of everyone before his own. He gave a small nod, though his eyes betrayed his inner sadness. "I suppose It's hard for me to be without her at my side, as she always had been. Even in our saddest moments, when we lost so much of our kin, Leafblaze had always been there to keep me going...I've already had to live moons without your mother, and now Leafblaze could go too...I am just glad Starclan blessed me with such good kits." He admitted. Leafblaze looked at her leader with steady eyes. There was no hesitation this time as she took a breath and mewed. "I've spoken to my mate and kits, and now I have my decision. I am returning to Twolegplace...and I am leaving Sunclan. I wanted to let the clan know...and to say what has been on my mind for these past moons." She explained.

He’ll be bitter at first, but they’ll grow on him real quick. I think he’s lowkey a really good uncle/father and he’s protective, and he’ll be all gruff but he’ll bring them prey and groom them and practice with them. Like. Peach: wow you’ve really grown to like those kits, Heatherfrost. Heather: blegh whatever, they’re ugly Also Heather: *tossing a mossball to Evening, Jade and Wren* )

Vulturesight narrowed his eyes thoughtfully at that - it was true. “You’re really not fancy of Slitherfoot, are you?” Gingersplash scoffed. The young warrior flicked her tail and snorted. “Careful. Vulturesight looked around, not liking the truth Gingersplash had pointed out. He couldn't get too comfortable talking about his anxieties around the she-cat. "I'm just thinking that StarClan and the Dark Forest should stay far away from each other, that's all. Slitherfoot was a little too ready to accept Leafblaze back into the Clan, and... Well, with that new medicine cat apprentice, I'm just starting to think she might have a little too much influence." He mumbled, leaning close to the calico so only she would hear. Silverdusk paused thoughtfully, tucking her paws underneath herself. "Well... I don't want to worry them too much, I'm sure I'll remember if we just talk about it." She meowed, eager to reassure Sootflame as much as herself. The more she thought about it, and as her fear died down, she started to feel more confident again. She hadn't forgotten Sunstar, Moonfrost... All their kits.
