“You’re really not fancy of Slitherfoot, are you?” Gingersplash scoffed. The young warrior flicked her tail and snorted. “Careful. If anyone catches you being all suspicious, they’ll get all up in bristles. Luckily, I find it intreauging, and my father can figure it out without me if he wants to.” She muttered, before shaking her head. “Alright, Vulturesight. Spit it out. What’s on your mind now?” Sootflame looked at her deeply, his old orange eyes gleaming with concern and care. “Do you want to ask Slitherfoot or Mosspool about it? Or try and remember with me?” He offered. Vulturesight looked around, not liking the truth Gingersplash had pointed out. He couldn't get too comfortable talking about his anxieties around the she-cat. "I'm just thinking that StarClan and the Dark Forest should stay far away from each other, that's all. Slitherfoot was a little too ready to accept Leafblaze back into the Clan, and... Well, with that new medicine cat apprentice, I'm just starting to think she might have a little too much influence." He mumbled, leaning close to the calico so only she would hear. Silverdusk paused thoughtfully, tucking her paws underneath herself. "Well... I don't want to worry them too much, I'm sure I'll remember if we just talk about it." She meowed, eager to reassure Sootflame as much as herself. The more she thought about it, and as her fear died down, she started to feel more confident again. She hadn't forgotten Sunstar, Moonfrost... All their kits. Gingersplash looked thoughtful for once, her eyes trailing towards the medicine den. She finally spoke. “Well, while I’m not so sure about all the Starclan and Dark Forest stuff, I will agree that Slitherfoot could easily manipulate things if she wanted to. I’ve always been a bit suspicious of any sign interpretations. Nobody is above lying, not even medicine cats...” She hummed. Sootflame nodded once, though the worry was clear on his face and through his posture. He moved to groom Silverdusk’s ears gently, rumbling out. “Try and remember what you can. Describe it to me.”

Slitherfoot nodded her head in greeting to Jasminepaw, blinking in surprise at her apprentice's youthful energy. She had grown accustomed to Mosspool's calm nature over the past moons. "I have lavender, tansy, and yarrow." She meowed in reply after setting down the herbs and pointing to them with her nose. "Flowers such as these are especially common in Newleaf and Greenleaf. Lavender is good for fever and can soothe an anxious cat, especially with its smell. Tansy is excellent for coughs, but it is very strong. Use it sparingly." She instructed. She nodded to the yarrow, "Yarrow is an especially useful herb. Its poultice can be used for wounds, but if a cat eats it, they will vomit. If a cat ever eats poison berries or anything else that can kill them, make them eat it." Runningpaw brightened up at Turtlepaw's company, rolling over to his side. "Hey! How is your training going? Have you learned anything really interesting?" He asked, eager for some intrigue. While many reveled in the Clan's current peace, the chattering apprentice was quickly becoming bored with his routine. Webwhisker opened an eye to glance at Rowanbranch, a loud purr in her throat. "It's very good to see you." She meowed, even though it hadn't been that long since they had last spoken. "I think the warmth will feel good for just a little bit longer before it starts to get too hot. You wanna go for a swim in the stream?" Molenose lay still for a moment longer before making her chase toward the squirrel, racing to catch it in her claws before it had a chance to run away. The squirrel had heard her though, and was starting to scurry toward the nearest tree. Jasminepaw nodded seriously, dipping her head to sniff each herb, pawing at them to get a good look at the individual leaves, making sure she could recognize them if she saw them again. "I think I remember smelling lavender before. Didn't you give that to Shadowflower after Jaykit died?" She tipped her head to one side, blinking up at her mentor. Turtlepaw purred at her friend's excitement, sitting beside him. "It's going pretty well! Newtleap is a good mentor. How is your training going? I hope Watershade isn't being too hard on you." Rowanbranch purred and touched his nose to her ear happily. "I would love to," he meowed, thinking to himself that he would happily do anything with her. Blacktalon leaped at the squirrel from the side as it ran toward the tree, grabbing it by the tail as it started climbing the tree, pulling it down and quickly killing it. Slitherfoot nodded, remembering the horrible greencough that had swept their Clan during leafbare. The medicine cat had not been especially close to many kits, but she felt the loss of Shadowflower's kits very deeply. More than anything else, she felt angry with herself for not catching Jaykit's sickness soon enough. "Yes, I did. Good observation, Jasminepaw." She meowed, trying not to seem too grim. "Thyme also helps with grief and anxiety." "Aw, well I can deal with him. He's a stick in the mud, but he is a pretty great warrior! He's fought in battles, so I'll be good in battles too." Runningpaw meowed, "He only tells me off sometimes when I can't shut up and we need to actually train. Not that I don't train hard or anything. I just get excited, that's all." Webwhisker looked up at Rowanbranch warmly. She was lucky to have a dear friend like him... At least, friend for now anyway. "Great!" She meowed, stretching out her legs to get the last remaining stiffness out from her night's rest before standing up. "I'm ready when you are." Molenose slid to a halt, nearly leaping off the ground in surprise when she saw the dark pelt of Blacktalon racing after the prey and catching the squirrel. Normally she relied on her senses very strongly. She hadn't even scented the warrior before he had come in to save the prey she would have definitely lost otherwise. She brought herself to lay her fur flat when she finally realized who it was, and she nodded gratefully. "Thank you. I would have lost it." She meowed.

Hey)
Stonepaw laid near the apprentice silently watching the other apprentice practice their battle moves together making small notes on their moves to remember herself for later. Copperpaw trotted over and sat down beside Stonepaw, waving his tail in greeting. "Hey Stonepaw, whatcha up to?" He asked, the small apprentice carrying his usual good-natured demeanor.

Lynxtail purred and nuzzled her. "Oh I know. I remember training with you. You beat me quite a few times." He swiped her ear playfully with a paw. Bubblepaw blinked at him sympathetically, keeping a little distance from the shy apprentice, not wanting to intimidate him. "How is your training coming along?" She asked him kindly. "Rabbitfrost seems like a good mentor." Peachflower purred in amusement. "Go easy on him. I'm sure settling into the Clan can be hard." She pressed against his side happily. "Oh, you know, some things are the responsibility of the whole Clan. And it never hurts to spend some time with my mother." Iciclepaw rolled her eyes. "Oh please, if you want to sneak up on someone, you need to make sure you aren't seen!" Wolfshade rested his tail on his father's shoulder sympathetically. "I'm sure, whatever decision she makes, it will be the one that's best for her, the Clan, and her kits. I know it might hurt, but don't you think it might be better if she returns to the Twolegplace, if that's where she's really comfortable and happy?" Emberstar blinked in surprise when Leafblaze approached him. "Yes, Leafblaze, of course. Is something wrong?" He tilted his head to one side. "Oh, I'm sure you secretly let me win sometimes." Rustlefoot teased with good nature, moving to bump her muzzle into Lynxtail's shoulder before she turned to get into her battle stance. Kestrelpaw was a bit more comfortable with talking about his mentor. He mewed softly. "Oh, u-uh. Rabbitfrost is a really good mentor. H-he does his best to make me feel better when I get a bit nervous...and he's a really skilled warrior. W-what about your mentor?" Heatherfrost scoffed lightly. "If I go easy on anyone, they'll think I'm soft on them. I can't have that. Hng. Well, I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. Better that you're happy than anything else. I'd rather not see you angry or sad anytime." He puffed, inwardly grimacing at the thought of how his sweet mate could get when she was angry or upset. "I was! Just...just you were the only one that saw me, that's all!" Solarpaw puffed stubbornly, crouching down before she leaped at her sister, pulling her to the ground. "Hah! Sneak attack!" Yewberry looked at his son with warm eyes. Wolfshade had always been an understanding and kind tom, who put the happiness and safety of everyone before his own. He gave a small nod, though his eyes betrayed his inner sadness. "I suppose It's hard for me to be without her at my side, as she always had been. Even in our saddest moments, when we lost so much of our kin, Leafblaze had always been there to keep me going...I've already had to live moons without your mother, and now Leafblaze could go too...I am just glad Starclan blessed me with such good kits." He admitted. Leafblaze looked at her leader with steady eyes. There was no hesitation this time as she took a breath and mewed. "I've spoken to my mate and kits, and now I have my decision. I am returning to Twolegplace...and I am leaving Sunclan. I wanted to let the clan know...and to say what has been on my mind for these past moons." She explained. Lynxtail looked at her seriously. "I wouldn't do that. I know how much it means to you to be just as good a warrior as everyone else, so I would never go easy on you." He dropped into a battle crouch, preparing for Rustlefoot's first move. Bubblepaw purred. "Fernblossom is really sweet. She is very patient and kind with me." She paused for a moment, thinking. "Are you getting along well with the other apprentices? You don't seem to talk to anybody too much." Peachflower purred and touched her nose to his cheek. "Would you like to go for a walk?" She suggested. Iciclepaw purred and used Solarpaw's weight flinging at her to roll, pinning her sister to the ground and smirking down at her. "If you're going to do a sneak attack, it's probably best not to yell 'sneak attack'. Just a suggestion." She purred in amusement and leaped off of her sister. Wolfshade touched his nose to his father's ears, letting out a sympathetic purr. "I know. I can't imagine what it would be like if Blacktalon wasn't around anymore. But I'm sure you'll still be able to see her. You will always be littermates, even if you don't live together anymore." Emberstar blinked at her, tipping his head to one side. He just stared at her for a few heartbeats, processing what she said, before dipping his head in acceptance. "Will you be taking the kits with you?" He asked, then added, "Is Thunderheart going with you?" (Okay so I kind of like the idea of Iciclepaw and Solarpaw having a bit of sibling rivalry. Like, I like the idea of them both being really good at training, but one is clearly better at some things while the other is clearly better at other things. Like, one is better at fighting but the other is better at hunting, and they always butt heads because the one who's better at fighting really wants to be better at hunting, and the one who's better at hunting really wants to be better at fighting, or something like that. Idk if this even makes sense but it's something I was thinking about with that little interaction between them.)

(That’s exactly what I was thinking. I was also thinking Heatherfrost might be a little unhappy at first about his sister fostering the “traitor’s” kits and that could cause some drama.) (Oh yes XD. He’ll be bitter at first, but they’ll grow on him real quick. I think he’s lowkey a really good uncle/father and he’s protective, and he’ll be all gruff but he’ll bring them prey and groom them and practice with them. Like. Peach: wow you’ve really grown to like those kits, Heatherfrost. Heather: blegh whatever, they’re ugly Also Heather: *tossing a mossball to Evening, Jade and Wren* ) (This is literally exactly how I imagine things going)

"There's so much to learn," she mewed, suddenly feeling a little daunted at the idea of having to learn all of the different herbs and what they're good for. Turtlepaw purred in amusement. Runningpaw's mentor had always intimidated her, but she appreciated the apprentice's sense of humor about things. She glanced at him, a mischievous sparkle in her eyes, as she said, "I'm sure he probably stuffs moss in his ears before training you by this point." Rowanbranch purred happily, feeling his pelt become warm as he looked at her. He enjoyed her presence, and whenever she was around he felt his heart race a little bit. He knew they were still young, but he was starting to think that maybe they could be more than friends. But he didn't want to say anything just yet, afraid that he would scare her away. "Lead the way!" Blacktalon blinked at her in surprise for a moment, then nodded, dropping the squirrel. "Yes, well, it's lucky I was here to make the catch then," he meowed, a hint of arrogance in his voice. (I can't decide if I want Blacktalon to be actually be an arrogant know-it-all or if I want his arrogance to be like, a way of hiding how he really feels.)

Crouching low, she scented in her mate's direction, before she took a starting lunge towards him. Kestrelpaw shuffled again, a hint of shyness filling his voice. He got overwhelmed when he was around a lot of cats. "I thought you'd never ask. Please, anything to get a moment of peace." Heatherfrost sighed with gratitude, his tail flicking sharply as he turned and motioned for Peachflower to follow him. "Let's go find somewhere where no one will disturb us." Solarpaw gave a huff of aggravation. It wasn't fair! She worked so hard but Iciclepaw always beat her in battle! She bet her tail that the clan liked Iciclepaw more because she was stronger. All Solarpaw could do was catch stupid birds and a snake that one time, but any clan cat could hunt. She scowled at her sister and rose to her paws. "I don't want or need your suggestions, got it? Leafblaze shook her head once, pushing the heaviness in her heart behind her wall of control. She mewed to Emberstar. "No. They belong here, and will remain here with Sunclan...this is a path I walk alone. She won't do anything to put herself in harm's way without having a very good reason for it. And the Clan doesn't have to know about you visiting your sister. Do you really think that Thunderheart or her kits won't visit from time to time? There's no harm in you visiting too, so long as you don't make a big deal out of it." Emberstar dipped his head in acceptance. "Very well. I accept your decision. I don't like it, and I think you should stay, at least until your kits are apprentices, but this is your decision to make and I cannot stop you from leaving if that's what you choose to do. But your kits will be left without a mother. Did you think of that?"

I don't like it, and I think you should stay, at least until your kits are apprentices, but this is your decision to make and I cannot stop you from leaving if that's what you choose to do. But your kits will be left without a mother. Did you think of that?" Rustlefoot felt the contact. With a sharp movement, she turned her body to follow the contact, her paw swiping out sharply towards the point of contact, striking at Lynxtail's side. Kestrelpaw perked lightly, his eyes wide with surprise and shyness as he stammered. "Y-you want to be friends...with me? Oh! Ah...s-sure, I...I'll be friends with you, if you'd like...Thanks for understanding me, I-I know I can seem a bit cowardly...but I'll be a good friend. I'm good at listening." He assured softly. Heatherfrost glanced back at his mate. Her happiness was infectious, and he remembered back when it had irked and grated at him. Now, it was clear he'd fight anyone to keep that happiness in her. It was what made her so special...and that she had never given up on him, even if he knew he was crass and sharp and cold to others at times. He sighed lightly with a snicker, and mewed. "Starclan, could you be any brighter over there? You might melt my icy heart." "Hmph! Are you sure it's because you wanna help? Or is it because you know you'll beat me and you wanna gloat? I can get stronger all on my own!" Solarpaw decided, lifting her muzzle boldly and glaring back at her sister. Scarletcloud would show her all kinds of cool moves. She was rouge born, after all! Maybe she knew secret techniques! Yewberry looked at his son with light surprise, before he swallowed. "I suppose...I just fear what would happen if I was caught. Would the clan think I was abandoning them? I...you make a good point, but I'm not sure. Oh, if only this was easier on my conscience." He sighed softly. Leafblaze swallowed the lump in her throat as she nodded. "We've discussed this. Thunderheart, and my kits, and myself. I know they will be left without me...but that does not mean they will be without mothers. There are so many better Queens and she-cats in the clan that can teach my kits when I am gone...Everyday I will think of them, and I will always love them. I wouldn't leave them if I didn't feel that the clan couldn't love them just as much as I do. And Emberstar, I know the way cats look at them, and think of me and what I've done. I ask of you, that you protect them in that aspect...they are brilliant and loyal kits who will make Sunclan proud, in ways that I never could."

Lynxtail watched Rustlefoot closely before slipping out of the way. He wasn't quite quick enough, though, as he felt his mate graze by him. Bubblepaw nodded in understanding. "Of course. Well, I can be your friend, if you want," she meowed. "No pressure though. I know you don't really like being around other cats, and that's completely fine." Peachflower purred and followed her mate happily, head and tail high as they left the camp. Iciclepaw rolled her eyes and swatted her sister over the ear playfully. "Oh relax Solarpaw! Of course you'll get better. I'm just trying to help!" She glared at her sister, annoyed at her sister's arrogance. It seemed like Solarpaw was the best apprentice, so much better at hunting. She was just glad that there was something she could beat Solarpaw at. It wasn't fair for Solarpaw to want to take this away from her. Wolfshade nodded slowly. "I understand where your fears are coming from. It makes sense for you to worry about those things. But she is a strong cat who knows what risks are necessary and which are not. Lynxtail felt the swipe, attempting to jump out of the way but feeling her paw make contact with his flank. He twisted behind her, nipping at her back legs. Bubblepaw purred. "You don't seem cowardly to me, Kestrelpaw. It's okay to be shy, and it's okay to be scared. That doesn't make you a coward." She shrugged a little. "That just makes you normal. Everybody's afraid of something, even if they don't want to admit it. I bet even Emberstar is scared of some things." Peachflower purred and flicked him playfully over the ear with her tail. "Good. It wouldn't hurt you to stop pretending you're so cold and aloof all the time." She smirked. "I know that's not the real you." Iciclepaw rolled her eyes. "Oh please Solarpaw, stop feeling so sorry for yourself! You're good at everything, let me have something for once! Why can't you just let me better than you at one little thing?" She glared at her sister fiercely. "You're better at hunting, tracking, climbing trees, running, everything. Let me have this one thing!" Wolfshade nodded in understanding. "Of course, that's understandable. I know it's hard now, but things will work out. I know you don't want to lose your sister, but haven't you noticed how she hasn't been able to settle into Clan life since returning? She's clearly unhappy here. Of course, I'm sure she loves spending time with you and Thunderheart and the kits, but it's been pretty obvious how unhappy she is in the Clan. You can see her paws itching to be on the move, and it's obvious that her heart is in another place." Emberstar dipped his head in acceptance. "The Clan will miss you. You would've had a place in the warriors' den once more if you had decided to stay. But this is your choice, and I will accept whatever decision you make." He paused thoughtfully for a moment. "I hope you know, however, that if you choose to leave, I will not be able to accept you back into the Clan again. I encourage you to really think about this decision. If you leave now, the Clan will feel betrayed. They won't be happy with you abandoning them again, and they won't be happy with you abandoning your kits. If this is the decision you choose to make, you will not be able to return to SunClan again, and you will be treated just like any other rogue if you return to SunClan territory."

Rustlefoot gave a light gasp as she felt the nipping at her legs. She reacted quickly, aiming a sharp kick towards the offending teeth and muzzle. Kestrelpaw felt his fur warm lightly at the words, though he seemed to duck his head lightly as he admitted. "I-I guess so, but erm...I get spooked by things that most don't. A-and I can't help but stammer when I talk...Emberstar is way more brave than I'll ever be." "Pretending? Hmph. You're the only one that gets to see my kindness, if you can even call it that. You're the only one besides my sister that's worth the time anyway. There's no act here. I'm just not a soft kind of cat by nature. You know this." Heatherfrost reminded with a flick of his tail over Peachflower's ears. "I'm feeling sorry for myself? Then what are you doing? Hmph, you're the one who's oh so good at fighting. Everyone knows that's way more impressive than hunting a stupid mouse." Solarpaw argued, hardly caring if her loud voice attracted anyone's attention. She hated being second best in anything. Yewberry looked at his son, knowing sadly that his words were true. He had hoped he'd be able to make Leafblaze feel at home again, but he knew she never had. Even with her kits and mate, she had felt out of place and like she did not belong anymore. She missed the cats she had taken in, practically her first kits. He sighed lightly and gave Wolfshade a fond look. "When did you become so wise?" Leafblaze looked at Emberstar and nodded simply. "I know. I knew this from the start, before I even returned to have my kits here. I knew I would not be accepted truly, even if you and some others did. I knew if I left, I could never come back...Emberstar, I never planned to return. I...I could not have kits though, knowing Thunderheart wouldn't be able to be their father, or that Sunclan would not have their kits. I knew this, and I chose to have them here. And now I am choosing to go, because it is the best course for us all...I love my mate and kits, Emberstar, but I am not happy here. Deep in my heart, I do not think I belonged here, at any point in my life. I was born with a rouge's heart, and a leader's spirit. But I loved Sunclan, and I still would give my life for the cats here...but I cannot deny my destiny any longer. I cannot stay where I do not belong..."

A Clan can't survive without skilled hunters to feed it." She glared at her sister. "But if you want to continue your little pity party, you can do it without me." She whipped around, flicking her tail across her sister's face, before stalking away, tail lashing angrily. Wolfshade purred a little and shrugged. "I learned from the best, I guess." Emberstar nodded. "When do you plan on leaving?" He asked, looking at her. He glanced toward the nursery, where he knew her kits were. He wondered if the kits really knew what was going on, that they would never see their mother again, or if they thought she was just going away for a while. He didn't dare ask.

Rustlefoot gasped as she was bowled over, a rich laugh coming from her as she fell under her mate. She moved her whiskers to feel around her, before she reached out with her muzzle, nipping at whatever part of his body she could reach. Kestrelpaw felt his fur warm more, a small sense of comfort filling him at her words. He gave Bubblepaw a shy yet grateful look as he mewed. "T-thanks, Bubblepaw...That means a lot to me..." Heatherfrost scoffed lightly at her words, though his eyes seemed to avert a bit, not denying nor accepting her words. Instead, he perked his ears with surprise and his eyes gleamed with slight nervousness as he swallowed. "Oh...you think I'd actually be a decent father? I...guess I haven't thought about it. I mean, I never even thought I'd ever have a mate, let alone kits..." He tensed a bit, a sliver of fear in him at the idea of Peachflower possibly being pregnant...for if he lost his kits like his sister had, he didn't know what he'd do. "Yeah, well the hunters aren't the ones the clan looks up to. It's the strong fighters and leaders. But fine then, walk away and you throw your own pity party then by yourself! I'm always better on my own anyway!" Solarpaw snapped after her sister, feeling vindicated for a moment, only to feel heavy and saddened underneath her anger too. She whipped her head around and went to look for Scarletcloud. She was the only one who really got her anyway. "Oh stop that. You're going to make my fur flush." Yewberry moved to scuffle his son's fur between his ears, suddenly aware of how big his son was. All his kits were warriors now, and all 3 of them were at least his size now. It made the tom feel both proud and older. Leafblaze blinked once, swallowing down her conflicts as she nodded. "As soon as possible. Now, if able. The sooner I do it, the better it will be for all of us...I cannot have regrets of this build up. I have to go now, or I may never go at all in my sorrows." She decided, pained yet assured of her decision.

Lynxtail let out a yelp and growled, trying to sound fierce but unable to keep the purr out of his voice. "Oh you think you can beat me, do you?" He growled, leaning down and lightly nipping her shoulder, careful not to actually cause any damage. Bubblepaw purred sweetly. "Of course, no problem. That's what friends do." Peachflower tipped her head to one side, looking at him uncertainly. "Are you okay?" She touched her nose to his cheek. "You seem anxious about something." She paused a little, thinking, then realized what he was probably thinking about. "You're thinking about Shadowflower losing her kits, aren't you?" Iciclepaw rolled her eyes but didn't stop, storming away from her sister angrily. She swiped at a tree at the edge of camp, leaving deep claw marks in the bark. Scarletcloud dozed outside of the warriors' den in the sun. Wolfshade shrugged. "You were a good father. We were lucky to be raised by two amazing parents who loved us." He sighed a little. "I just wish Webwhisker had had the same privilege." He shook his head. "But she still had you, and that more than made up for it." Emberstar dipped his head. "Of course. I wish you and your group the best, Leafblaze. May StarClan light your path." (Do we want Peach and Heather to have kits? Like, should Peach be expecting already? Or would you rather wait a bit for that?)

Kestrelpaw looked at Bubblepaw with a small smile. "Friends. Uhm...so...what do we do now?" He asked quietly. "I'm not!-" Heatherfrost barked, only to halt in his speech and close his jaws slowly, before he swallowed and looked away again. He hated showing his vulnerabilities, even to his mate. "Okay, so maybe I am...she lost all but one of them, and she had so many...Even her born kit was taken from her. What's to stop that from happening to us if we ever have our own?" He asked. "Scarletcloud!" Solarpaw pushed away her anger and sadness as she stomped up to her mentor, outside the warrior's den. She flicked her tail and pleaded. "Let's go out and do something. I don't wanna be in the stupid camp." Yewberry pressed his muzzle to Wolfshade's cheek as he gave a saddned smile. "Your mother would be so proud of you. Of all of you. And I'd have given anything for Webwhisker to have known her...but I see her mother in her everyday. I...I'll be okay. I always am, in the end." Leafblaze looked at Emberstar for a long time, before she slowly approached the leader. Her eyes expressed the aching pain and conflict she was feeling, but she suddenly moved towards him, pressing her muzzle to the leader's shoulder as she gave a shaky breath. "Thank you...for everything you've done for me. For giving me my warrior name, for letting me come back to have my kits...and for letting me go. I wish I had been a better warrior for you, but for all of the past, I was proud to follow your leadership..." She stepped back then, her ears flat against her head as she sighed gently. "I'll suppose we should announce it to the clan then." (Sure, she can be expecting kits if you'd like!)

You're it!" She purred, before scampering away. She glanced back over her shoulder to see if he was chasing her. Peachflower flinched a little at his harsh tone, before relaxing again as he explained. "I know. I know how hard that was for her, and how hard that must have been for you to see your sister go through that. But it won't happen to us. That's a rare occurrence, for a queen to lose all of her kits. Our kits will survive." She pressed herself against his side, praying to StarClan that he would understand. Scarletcloud blinked sleepily up at her apprentice, then got to her paws, stretching and yawning. "Okay, okay." She shook herself. "Is something wrong, Solarpaw?" Emberstar nodded. "You're welcome. And you were a good warrior. I know when you trained in the Dark Forest, you only did that because you thought you were making yourself better for the Clan. You would've made a fine leader one day." He tipped his head to one side thoughtfully. "The fact that you're willing to risk everything to go back to the group you started shows how good of a leader you are." He dipped his head. "If you would like to announce it to the Clan, I'll call a meeting." (Okay! I kind of do want her to be expecting kits. I feel like that would add an interesting dynamic to her and Heatherfrost's relationship since Heatherfrost is so anxious when it comes to that.)

Rustlefoot pulled to her own paws, turning her head in different directions as she scented for her mate. She turned herself to face in his direction, her ears flicking for any sounds. She purred. "I may be small, but I do have a hard kick." Kestrelpaw's eyes widened a bit. He played tag with his sisters often, but had never really played with the other kits at the time. Even so, he didn't want to disappoint his new friend. He stood up, swallowing down his nerves as he scampered quickly after her. "If we have any. I mean, it's pretty great, just you and-..." Heatherfrost puffed lightly, pushing away his fears as a new sense of surprise and faint hesitation washed over him. He looked at Peachflower, not one to miss signs. He swallowed and asked her lightly. "Are...you expecting kits, Peachflower?" "Nope. Nothing at all. I just want to get as strong as I can. Can we battle train? Please please?" Solarpaw begged, not wanting to talk about her sister right now. Leafblaze gave a light look of gratitude, a bit surprised that it seemed Emberstar had considered her for leadership. Even so, she knew she could never lead Sunclan. Her voice grew light as she gave a faint chuckle. "I think Thunderheart has better leadership material for Sunclan than I ever did...but that means a lot to me, that you valued me, Emberstar. Yes...I'd like to announce it to everyone. They deserve to know, and deserve to have a right to accept or judge my decision." (Sounds good! :3 )

Bubblepaw purred and ran away from him. "Can't catch me!" She teased playfully. Peachflower hesitated, her heart racing, as she pressed herself closer to his side. A shiver of fear and excitement ran through her body as she nodded slowly. "Yes... I am." She looked away, afraid he would be angry or upset about this. Scarletcloud narrowed her eyes, looking at her apprentice. "Fine. But we're going to talk about what's bothering you at some point." She turned and trotted out of the camp. Wolfshade nodded in agreement. "Yes, Webwhisker is so much like her..." He shook himself a little. "Have you noticed her hanging around with Rowanbranch?" He added, trying to lighten the mood a bit. Emberstar dipped his head. "Very well." He leaped onto the Highrock, yowling, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" (Cool! Also, I just realized I forgot to respond with Wolfshade so sorry about that lol)

Jasminepaw nodded seriously as she studied the herbs carefully. (I can't decide if I want Blacktalon to be actually be an arrogant know-it-all or if I want his arrogance to be like, a way of hiding how he really feels.) Slitherfoot nodded, remembering how overwhelmed she was when she had given up her regular apprentice training to become a medicine cat. "The best way you will learn is through experience. Once you are helping Mosspool and I tend to our clanmates, you will find it much easier to remember each herb." She meowed, resting her tail on Jasminepaw's shoulder. Runningpaw laughed - that wasn't too far from the truth. He didn't quite stuff his ears, but he certainly seemed ready to. "Like moss would help!" He joked, his voice raising without even realizing it, "Watershade took me hunting a few days ago - or maybe it was last sunhigh, I dunno. He took me hunting, and I swear I scared a mole out of its hole while we were leaving camp because I forgot we needed to be quiet." He purred. Webwhisker was tempted to race off out of camp, but it would keep them from chatting on their way to the stream. Besides, she was still feeling drowsy from sunbathing. The gray she-cat trotted out of camp, her ears perked as she looked around, just in case there was anything exciting happening out of the camp walls. "It's nice not having to change bedding or anything between patrols now that we're warriors. I don't feel like I'm that old yet though, you know? I always thought cats that were twelve moons were really old until now." She meowed. Molenose nodded, not catching the arrogance in his tone in her relief that the squirrel was caught. The brown warrior had a hard time letting go of prey she missed, even though she knew everyone missed a catch every once in a while. "Yes, it is lucky." She meowed stiffly in reply, dipping her head in a late greeting. "The fresh kill pile shouldn't be left short for too long." (Either one is great, because Molenose takes things literally and has a hard time reading tone lol)

Describe it to me.” Vulturesight nodded, his nose curling in dread. The medicine cats had so much influence in their position, with their visions from StarClan, and their herbs... "Exactly. Everyone says a medicine cat can't lie, but I have a hard time believing that." He growled, his tail flicking back and forth. "And what benefit does two apprentices give? It's like two guards - they can defend her at any point." He muttered, suddenly talking to himself more than to Gingersplash as his eyes drifted to watch the medicine cat in question instructing Jasminepaw over a couple of herbs. "Well, I remember Sunstar, and Moonfrost of course. I remember our journey with the other Clans before all of that, and my days before I even met you and all our friends..." Silverdusk meowed, a small purr rumbling in her throat as she reflected on her younger years before they had all built their wonderful life together. Even though the two elders often talked about their past, it didn't get old. "I lived in that old fox burrow with my mother, and remember when we met? You and Sunstar were soaked to the bone when you crawled into the burrow."

She meowed stiffly in reply, dipping her head in a late greeting. "The fresh kill pile shouldn't be left short for too long." (Either one is great, because Molenose takes things literally and has a hard time reading tone lol) Jasminepaw nodded thoughtfully, looking down at the herbs again. "Okay," she meowed. The mention of Mosspool made her nervous all over again. She glanced toward her mentor, shuffling her paws a little, wondering if she should say what she was thinking, or if she should deal with it herself. Turtlepaw purred in amusement. "You probably scared all the mice from here to the MoonClan border!" She flicked him over the ear playfully with her tail. Rowanbranch nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it is nice not to have those chores. Although any time I'm not doing something and I see another warrior, I worry that I'll get in trouble for not hunting for the elders or something!" He purred a little. "I know what you mean. I don't feel old enough to be a warrior, either. I don't feel like I know everything I need to know yet." Blacktalon nodded in agreement. "Yes, you're right. Uh... Should we hunt together?" He suggested. "Two warriors together will catch more than one on their own will." (Lol I think it'll be like, a combination of both. Like, he actually is arrogant, but he's also hiding how he really feels, if that makes sense)

Slitherfoot nodded, remembering how overwhelmed she was when she had given up her regular apprentice training to become a medicine cat. "Yes, it is lucky." The medicine cat rose to her paws and nodded to the herbs she had shown. "Let's get these organized in the medicine den, then I will show you a place that is useful for certain injuries." She meowed, flicking her tail to signal for the apprentice to follow her with the herbs. Runningpaw nodded, feeling flustered at her playful gesture on top of his high energy. "MoonClan was going to attack, but they retreated because it sounded like an army of cats!" He laughed. When he paused to think about that though, it did sound like a good idea to try out if they ever were in battle. "Hey, that's not such a bad idea. I should practice my battle cries." Webwhisker nodded, her cheerful expression faltering a little as she grew thoughtful. It had been exciting to get her warrior name, but the young she-cat found herself starting to grow anxious. There was so much she wanted to do, but would warrior duties keep her in the same routine every day now? "Hey... Do you ever feel like you're missing something?" She asked, somewhat hesitant to express her thoughts to Rowanbranch. He probably wanted a she-cat that was content with Clan life. "Like, I guess I thought by this point I'd have done more things. I kind of wish we had been around when the Clans were just starting to form, when they were exploring and didn't know where they would find themselves next. That kind of thing..." Molenose nodded. His save of her catch was proof enough of that. While she was mostly used to hunting on her own, she definitely saw the benefits of hunting in groups - one of the major benefits of living in a Clan. "You're right. We might as well." She meowed, giving her chest a quick lick to ease the vague nervousness she felt around the tom. (Sounds good x) )

She had noticed the way Mosspool had been cold and distant with her, and it made her wonder if becoming a medicine cat was really a good idea. Turtlepaw purred in amusement. "I'm sure you'll have MoonClan running in terror in no time. Who knows, maybe with you around we'll never have to worry about them again!" Rowanbranch hesitated for a moment, thinking of how he should respond. He felt, as the leader's son, he should feel more content with Clan life, but he didn't. He felt so much pressure to be just like his father, and he feared he would never be able to be your own cat. "I understand what you mean. I know we haven't been warriors for long, but I thought it would be more of an adventure. Instead it's just hunting, patrolling, hunting, patrolling..." He sighed. "Sometimes I feel like I'm not good enough. I don't live up to my father's reputation." The fur prickled along his spine when he said that, and he immediately wished he could take it back. Blacktalon dropped the squirrel and kicked dirt over it so they could come back for it later. Then he turned and lead the way further into the woods, tasting the air for the scent of prey.

Blacktalon dropped the squirrel and kicked dirt over it so they could come back for it later. Then he turned and lead the way further into the woods, tasting the air for the scent of prey. Slitherfoot instinctively looked around for any sign of Mosspool in the medicine den, her ears perked, but the black she-cat must have been out looking for herbs. It had been a while since Jasminepaw became a medicine cat apprentice that they had held a good long conversation. The medicine cat felt a twinge of guilt that she had been busy training the new apprentice to spend much time with her dear friend. "Go ahead and organize those, please." She meowed, stopping by Mosspool's nest to scent for any clue where the other medicine cat had gone off too. Runningpaw puffed out his chest proudly, liking the sound of being SunClan's resident noise maker. It was something he was good at, after all. "They'd better stay away! Foxhearts, I call 'em! But I can't blame MoonClan for lurking around our borders, I bet they're watching to see our patrols, because our she-cats are so pretty." He boasted without really thinking about it. " - Er, I didn't mean - Well, it's true, but not like... Uh..." Webwhisker's eyes widened, and she glanced at Rowanbranch with sympathy. She hadn't really known he felt that much pressure, being the son of the leader. Gingersplash and Silverfrost always seemed to carry their family heritage with such pride. "I'm glad you feel the same way! - Or, not glad, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one..." She meowed, "Both our families carry a lot of history in SunClan, which is nice and all, but there's a lot to live up to. Sunstar, and Emberstar, Sootflame and Silverdusk... We hardly get a chance to be our own cats." She couldn't help but think of Leafblaze, but she didn't want to mention the queen and possibly make her friend uncomfortable. Leafblaze was going her own way, and finding her unique place in the world. She kind of envied it. Molenose followed after Blacktalon, but soon caught up to pad beside him, her ears perked to listen. The trees were full of birdsong, but the risks of catching the winged prey were far greater than the rewards in her opinion. "I am going to look for prey that stays out of trees." She meowed quietly. (Considering Molenose is also somewhat arrogant in her own way, I'm thinking something should go wrong on their hunt, like they get stuck somewhere or something lol )

(Here! I’ll reply to other posts, but for now I’ll just have Leafblaze’s speech of her leaving.)
At Emberstar’s call to the clan, Leafblaze moved silently to stand near the leader, her green gaze training on her mate and kits. She knew this would be the hardest moment of her life.
Yewberry looked up, his eyes sparking with confusion, which turned to weary understanding and realization as he looked at the solemn look on his sister’s face.
Quailfrost looked up, as Gingersplash hummed in faint agreement to Vulturesight, before she looked pointedly at her father.

Vulturesight jumped a little at Emberstar's call, suddenly feeling exposed as though the whole Clan might have been listening to his murmurs to Gingersplash. He quickly turned around to listen, sitting down and grooming his chest nervously.
Silverdusk stopped in her tracks at the sound of Emberstar's call, and the elderly she-cat stiffly started to inch closer to the den's exit to peer out and watch, her eyes widening when she saw Leafblaze standing beside the leader.
Silverfrost, Mothdust, Newtleap, and Mushroomsprout sat down in the clearing to listen to the announcement.

Hey guys I’m incredibly sorry for my abscence! I’ve been crazy busy with bird field research since spring classes ended and I’m also taking summer classes. Hopefully now that the birds aren’t making many nests anymore field work should be slowing down soon and I’ll have a little more free time. If there’s anything major I missed please let me know! I’ll try to be on more soon!)
Also happy pride month!)
