wooo okay, starter number one down c'xFaith The morning light filtering through the bedroom window pulled Faith from her sleep. It was set up to be that way, with the window uncovered by curtains or blinds and the bed right where the pale golden sunlight would find her eyes in the morning, and unless she was really very tired after a particularly long night or something, it usually worked, and she preferred the sun as her alarm rather than a beeping phone in her ear. Blinking as her eyes adjusted to the room's light, she pushed herself up with her elbows into a sitting position, taking just a minute to relax before she pushed herself out of bed.
Moving around Faith's room - even just from the bed, to the cupboard to retrieve a towel and clothing as she did now, to the door, involved a well practised awareness of all of one's limbs all at once. It would be easy to knock an easel with a careless elbow, trip on a stack of canvases leaning against each other, accidentally dip a toe in a paint tray the young woman had put down on the floor and forgotten about, or bump heads with the papier-mâché balloons which she'd fashioned into a pair of miniature hot air balloons and hung from the ceiling light. More art studio than bedroom, it existed in a constant state of organised chaos (but more chaos than organised), but Faith herself could dance through it like an artful acrobat
The bathroom was still steamed up from whoever'd last been in - Kira, probably, who likely had already fit in a workout and a shower and getting ready for the rest of the day before Faith's morning had even begun. Indeed, the sounds and smells of a breakfast in the making was detectable before Faith closed the bathroom door. All the more motivation to not waste time. She showered briskly and dressed, then shuffled back to her room. Her make-up collection was... extensive, to say the least, and occupied the drawers and top of a white wooden vanity set diagonally across one of the corners of her bedroom, so it was at the mirror there that she set to half-drying her pastel-coloured hair with a quick blast of the hairdryer before twirling it up in a purposefully messy high bun. Her make-up took a little longer, but considering that it was a routine she took very seriously indeed, she was impressively quick - her artist's hands had learned to layer up foundation and paint on eyeliner wings in what seemed like no time at all. Practice makes perfect, after all.
Satisfied, Faith leaned across to tug her phone out its charger, and took it with her as she wandered to the kitchen, following the appetising scents. "Mor-ning," she hummed brightly in greeting to Kira as she padded barefooted into the kitchen. Retrieving the carton of orange juice from the fridge, she hunted around the cupboards for a clean glass (of which there were none - she settled on a mug instead). Leaving it on the counter momentarily, she peered over Kira's shoulder. The smell was making her hungry. "Smells so good in here. What're you making?"

I got a little behind on updating the front page. And I'm on mobile like the majority of the time so I'll get on that hopefully soon She said really anytime this week works and she's flexible and gosh I'm so nervous but I hate my current job. This job would be less hours, but pay $9 an hour and it'd be more enjoyable but gosh I'm so nervous

Yeah I'm way behind. I'm updated on characters but not members. By the way, I'm gonna put in the title that there's two spots open unless anyone here wants to take a third spot. The Jock and father are open
I'm sure it'll be fine. The only problem is like the hours are split into two. And so it's only two days a week and weekends but on weekdays cause of class I'm gonna have to get there at six, do two-three hours of chores, and then come home, shower, and go to class. I'm probably gonna write up an email and have my mom read over it before I send it

{{ my starter may be a little short, i apologize ;~; my posts will get better once there is more action, i promise
Sound weaved its way through the opening of Aurelia’s ears as she was finally brought back to reality from the dream that had taken over her body. It was a dream in which she found herself being a completely different person in a completely different life. One that was filled with social activity and energy, characteristics of her life now that did not exist. You could call her an introvert, constantly keeping to herself and only speaking in one or two word sentences, feeling as if she would bother anyone around her if she were to say anything more. Finding the energy, Aurelia brought her arms over her head and stretched them as high as she could while letting out a silent yawn and then turning over and gazing at her alarm clock. The light blue numbers were blurred, causing her to blink a few times before they finally became clear. 7:30 A.M.
Still slightly asleep, Aurelia fumbled with the covers and stumbled to the bathroom. She was welcomed by a thick blanket of steam and humidity which signaled that the other two roommates had already awaken and gotten ready for the day. Grabbing a hand towel, Aurelia wiped off a little circle of the fog on the mirror and checked her reflection. The lids were low over her honeydew colored eyes and slight dark circles underneath them made the slender drawn-in face almost unrecognizable. Her long auburn hair was frizzed and stuck up in all different directions. Slightly chuckling at herself, she ran her fingers through her hair before pulling back the curtain to the shower and turning on warm water.
Stepping out of the shower, she reached for two towels, one which she wrapped her hair in, and the other she wrapped around her dripping body. She returned to her room and closed the door. Aurelia wasn’t the type of girl to make a big deal when it came to picking out outfits to wear, as she didn’t really have anyone to impress at the moment. Plus, she seemed almost invisible to everyone, so why should she even try? She fumbled through the drawers with one hand, tightly holding the towel with the other so it wouldn’t slip and reveal anything. Her hand connected with a light coral crop top she had never worn before. She quickly slipped this on with a pair of high-waisted shorts, tightened the towel around her hair, and skipped down the stairs.
Many pleasant and light aromas filled the air around her as she entered into the kitchen. She heard two other voices in the room and when she slowly came around the corner, she recognized Kira and Faith, two of her other roommates. She hadn’t spoken to them much, but she had remembered Faith mentioning details about how she was an artist, and Kira talking about her twin brother Rowan. Aurelia wasn’t one to intrude in on people’s lives and details about them, but she just couldn’t help the fact that she was a really good listener. I guess that’s what I get for being an introvert. She chuckled slightly once again before looking down at her feet. She was debating if she should even say good morning and enter the room, or just enter and see if they notice her. However, she didn’t want to spook either one of them and cause Kira to burn herself on the stove where she was currently making a breakfast array of crepes, hash browns, and sausage. Her stomach let out a slight grumble and alarm filled her body as she quickly put her hands around her waist and applied pressure to hopefully stop the noise. Once she felt her stomach settle back down, she removed her hands and released them down to her sides, bringing her head back up to survey Kira and Faith. Letting out a slight sigh, Aurelia quietly entered into the kitchen.

Good. I got a dark purple polo shirt. I was deciding between that and salmon and figured dark purple would be better for an interview. I wore he jeans I'm wearing that day too and they were so hot in the middle of July

are you used to working with horses?

Post by . on Jul 25, 2017 20:08:22 GMT -5
Yeah. I've been riding for about six years and working at a barn for like three years. It's just gonna be a different place with different horses and out of my comfort zone. It's simple stuff - feeding, watering, turning out, grooming, mucking stalls. I'm just scared

I hope so. It's just I hate my current job so much but I can't quit till I get a new job and I want to work with horses so bad. The lady I'm emailing with seems chill so that's nice but I'm super freaked and yeah. plus I'll feel underdressed cause I'm gonna be in boots, jeans, and a polo shirt but I did my research and that's what people said is best for an interview like this.
I talk too much. What's up with you?

I did my research and apparently a lot of barn managers/owners don't like when people come in wearing typical interview clothes. I'm gonna do more research tonight cause this is so unlike any other interview I've been to.
That's cool. Anything exciting coming up?

I hope it's good enough. I just cleaned my boots (and got eaten alive by mosquitoes). I'm gonna brush up on some stuff (signs of injury/sickness, western tack/riding, find a list of barn chores and decide what I can/can't do.... wish me luck. It's gonna be a long night
I feel you. I don't go on vacation often so when I do it's like amazing cause I finally get to leave my town where there's literally nothing to do except hang out at Culver's

aa well done ari! i'm sure you've got it sorted then c8 it's awful when you're stuck with a job you don't like so hopefully it works out for you and you can enjoy yourself more c: & horsey work is usually super fun and rewarding so long as the people you work for / with are decent ~

I have her the number for someone I used to work with and I just texted my reference to let her know but I'm kinda nervous cause she hasn't responded and I'm worried she changed her number or something but also she's a fifty something year old lady so she's not on her phone 24/7 and I probably just worry too much. The job seems really nice though and pretty simple. Plus yeah I love working with horses What's up with you?

aw dw, hopefully you can hunt her details down if she doesn't respond in a couple of days? c:
ah not much, just dogsitting atm so i'm just sort of chilling with two sleepy dogs haha i should probably be responding to some emails or something but i'm being laazy coincidentally i also need to get references to hopefully do summer camp work w horses next year, but the criteria is really hard to fulfil and i can't think of one person let alone two rip

Hopefully. The barn manager I was talking to today said she'd call my reference either today or tomorrow though so I'm just really really hoping for the best. I mean I'm still in contact with friends I used to work with so one of them could tel me if she changed her number. But yeah I really only have one horsey reference. I could get in touch with another since I've still got her daugter's number but I really hope the one I have works out.
Ooh I wanna work with horses at a summer camp really badly but there's like none around here lol. What kinda criteria is there? I actually found one camp I coulda worked at but you needed to be a certified lifeguard to work in the barn and I can't even swim so I gave up on that
