hey all, so this is exactly what it sounds like. lately (after looking at too many university aus on tumblr) i've been really craving a roleplay with college kids. there's so many shenanigans that can happen with a bunch of finally independent young adults living the college life. i l o v e it. the only thing is...i'm having trouble deciding where i want to go with it? character-driven, drama-filled, slice-of-life type stuff are fun and all, but is a sandbox roleplay enough? they're fun and all, but in my experience things are better sustained with a plot to drive things. or maybe just a bunch of subplots? I'm not sure. basically I'm looking for opinions (sandbox or plot and if you have plot ideas please share?) and potential helpers. Note that I'm not looking to make this fancy or anything I just wanna figure stuff out and go without worrying about prettying up everything. mostly because i can't code to save my life and extra descriptions are not really necessary for a college campus. ;v; i have vague ideas of what could be done to make a uni rp more interesting, create a focus, but nothing concrete.
- rival clubs? rival dorms? - on the other hand, one main club that's broad enough to accept a variety of people and accomplish a single goal? a club built on community service? or an international group that travels abroad? - if we wanna branch out, something with a fantasy/supernatural twist?
obviously we cOULD just go with sandbox and do a whole bunch of things as they come like parties and all that other silly stuff. have people already know each other, meet each other, etc.
i'm looking for maybe 6 or 7 people? and emphasis on the advanced. not to be too picky but for this i'd like quality writing and well-thought out characters (note that quantity does not equal quality so don't feel pressured to make 6+ paragraphs. unless you like writing 6+ paragraphs then be my guest because hey i like doing that too).
i think i've rambled enough here so...help a gal decide? ;u;

a pretty easy way to go in terms of feuds, if that's what you want, is rivaling sororities/fraternities. Greek life and loyalty runs hecka deep, and with enough booze, members will literally do anything--anything--to preserve their letter's dignity. but that could get a little dicey on WCF rules. just an idea, though.

I can help!
You could also do a group of friends that go to rival schools. Like a private and public school near each other just hate each other. So it's like a forbidden romance but a forbidden friendship

viridian - true, true. i don't actually know a lot about fraternities/sororities so this is good to know! but i agree it might be a bit too risky for wcf. but rivalries are always fun... the struggle
lemon - heyhey feel free to hmu with suggestions/ideas xD
equus - i'd kind of like to keep things as close knit as possible, so two rival schools leaves things a bit too broad for my tastes, even with a group of friends. ^^ not a bad idea, but not really what i'm looking for. i'd like to keep things within a single school for simplicity's sake.

I like your idea of rival clubs or dorms. That was really the only other idea I had for "rivals".
I don't have the best ideas at the moment, but I can help you with other stuff.
