I was doing my thing you know, just about to get in the shower when I noticed a spider in my tub. I am scared of spiders, but I have my own personal rule of never killing them as they do more good things than bad. I will just catch them and release them outside, this one looked weird so I took a picture of it and post it on a local exotic group.
After Googing it myself, I came to the conclusion it's a brown recluse and I am peeing my pants. They are extremely venomous and your tissue will rot away when you get bit. I killed him faster than I've killed anything in my life and I don't want to do anything else, I'm so scared right now. First thing tomorrow I'm calling my landlord and asking for an exterminator to come and look at my apartment to make sure there are no more.

My dad got bit by a brown recluse before on one of his fingers. Let's just say it was not fun, at all. It looked really painful and gross.

They are more dangerous by default than a spider with a milder venom, but overall, you have the same likeliness of being bitten. Spiders don't bite unless they have no way to escape. If they aren't cornered, they'd always prefer to run. We keep black widows and have never been even close to being bitten, even when moving them to a new enclosure. As soon as you touch their web, they sprint in the other direction. If possible, next time maybe just relocate it?

I would have released it if it was another kind of spider, but they are so common in my area that I wasn't going to release it for it to come right back into my apartment. I don't know if there anymore, but I know for a fact with my birds and my rats living here, I don't want anyone around possibly getting bit. I don't know the odds of one of my animals getting big, but I'm not going to risk it.
I am calling my property manager first thing tomorrow to get my apartment sprayed or something, brown recluses scare the bejesus out of me and I tend to stumble around and be clumsy anyway, I would hate to get bit by stepping on one or something.

there are too many spiders in the world u dont need to feel bad about killing one singular spider that could potentially end up killing ur favorite pet. whenever i see a spider there is no mercy. goodbye mon ami. you reposted in the wrong bathtub. hopefully there aren't any more hanging around. gl

I probably would've passed right out on my way back to kill it
Who am I kidding I've never taken it upon myself to summon up enough courage to kill a spider anyway
