Camp Carter Lake History -- Camp Carter Lake began as a summer camp for boys in 1850. Later on, it became one of the first summer camps to take in both boys and girls. It lived on, strong, for years. Kids were taught to be respectable, adventurous adults. About 15 years ago, camp population was dwindling and the camp was forced to close. Eventually, this news came to George Mason when he traveled out to Minnesota to revisit the place where he spent every childhood summer from 5 to 18. When George, now a successful doctor, discovered it was closed, he bought the camp. With the help of his son, George cleaned up and reopened the camp. For the past 10 years, George's son Kenny has run the camp and brought Camp Carter Lake to its former glory.
CCL Description -- Camp Carter Lake is broken up into three sections. Carter lake borders all theee levels of camp. Lower Camp is the smallest. It contains a field, two cabins, and a few picnic tables under a gazebo. One of the two cabins is situated on each side of the field and they get food delivered from the Mess Hall in Upper Camp. The children in Lower Camp range from age 5-8. They spend most of their day in Lower Camp, but go to Upper Camp for Music and Arts and Crafts. Lights out is at 8:00 PM. Middle Camp is the next section. There are four cabins total and a field and flag pole. The whole camp comes here for morning and evening flag ceremonies. The kids here are 9-12 years old. Middle Campers spend most of their day at Upper Camp, and participate in most of the activities. Lights out is at 10:00 PM. Upper Camp is the largest section. There are four cabins and a field. The cabins are situated on each side of the field. Girls are on one side, boys on the other. Upper Camp also has a Mess Hall, riding stables, an archery range, and various buildings for the other activities and sleeping quarters for camp staff. The kids here are 13-16 years old. Lights out is 11:00 PM.

Intro --
"Welcome back to Camp Carter Lake, campers!" a staticky voice comes over the camp's speaker system. "This is Jack Larson with some important check in information. After you check in, make sure you prepare for the welcoming assembly tonight. And get ready for a GREAT summer!" the voice continued. The camp swarmed with activity as new and returning campers found their way around and counselors embraced new and old friends.
You took a fresh breath of air and knew this was gonna be the time of your life.
Welcome to Camp Carter Lake.

Rules -- My rules are pretty basic and there's not a lot of them, so if you could follow them, that'd be great.
1) Respect -- I need you to respect me and others. It's really not cool to bully people or treat them like they're beneath you. Just respect others and we'll be cool. I shouldn't really have to explain this one.
2) Literacy -- This is a literate and semi-advanced roleplay. First of all, that means I'm going to need you to type in complete sentences with correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. I'm not saying the occasional error is not allowed. We all make mistakes, but at least attempt to have correct grammar. Second of all, I'm requiring a minimum of 3-4 paragraphs, about six sentences each. That's not hard to do. It's just that it's hard to reply when someone gives you two or three sentences.
3) Activity -- I'm really relaxed on this one. I can't be here 24/7. I can't be here everyday. I don't expect you to either. Just get on 2-3 times a week and that should be fine. If there's circumstances where you need to be fine longer, just let me know. I don't need a reason, I just need to know. If something comes up and you don't have time to warn me, don't worry about that either. Just let me know when you come back.
4) Be Fair -- By this, I mean avoid the typical long words you see in every set of rules. No Mary Sues, no power playing, no godmoddinng, no spotlighting. Don't create any unnecessary drama. The only exception to this is if it's part of a plot, which will almost certainly happen.
5) Forum Rules -- Again, pretty obvious. Follow all forum rules. Keep stuff at a PG/PG-13 level or below. I don't want this deleted and I don't want anyone reported.
6) Characters -- I'd like to keep genders even. I know the majority of people I've talked to prefer to be girls, but make guys too. If, for some reason, you absolutely refuse to play a certain gender, we can talk about it. I'd ask prefer if you spread your characters out, meaning don't put all of them in a certain level of camp or make your characters all counselors.

I'm not quite sure what all you need, but this is what I have so far for basics --
I want the general color scheme to be green/brown/earthy colors
A list of headings I'll need: Introduction Description Camp History Camp Description Cabins Activities Staff Upper Campers Middle Campers Lower Campers Rules Plots Members Joining Credit
If that's too many, I can combine/reduce them
And for a banner, can it say Camp Carter Lake with subtext that says A Summer Camp Roleplay?

There's something basic I've done up for now, let me know if you want anything added or changed.

What you have actually looks really good.
I'm not really picky, I just want it to be more visually appealing than plain white text on a blue background. If you have any suggestions for how it should look, I'd love to hear them but like I said I'm not really picky

I could insert some kind of pattern/picture as the background if you'd like? You'd just have to be careful that it didn't hinder reading the text or anything, but I could probably find something if you'd like?
edit: I can also add in dividers between them.

Dividers wouldn't be a bad idea. Could I see what those would look like?

Depends what you want tbh XD I can do just words for dividers, something like: Camp Carter Lake
Or I can do pictures, something like:

I like the picture one.
I'm sorry I'm just super bad at making decisions so sorry if I seem indecisive. I'm trying not to be

Nah, that's fine, not a hassle at all
I'll insert them in now then.
I am also mucking around with putting patterns instead of the white in the boxes, so I'll show you if I find one that looks good.

Okay I think I found a picture that works, I just did it in the first box for now, but let me know what you think and if you like it I can put it in all the boxes.
I'll add the dividers now

I like the dividers. You think the text would be easy enough to read over the picture?
|
|
|
Post by Deleted on Jun 20, 2017 20:34:35 GMT -5
Yeah, I think it'll be fine, I can always change the colour of the text to make it stand out more though.

I'd love to, but I'm really not active enough to join any RP's to be honest. I like making small group ones or 1x1s when I come on, but I always disappear for ages after a week or so, sorry :/

No problem! Thanks for the help
I tend to stick with 1x1s and small groups but I was just feeling really summer camp-y so I decided to give this a try
