Ivypool may be overrated, but she does have some good qualities. Blackstar is overrated for no reason.

I'm very curious to see the results of this poll. I actually have no idea who will win.

I'm very curious to see the results of this poll. I actually have no idea who will win. Literally same. While I prefer Ivypool, I do like Blackstar, so I'll be alright either way. But I actually don't know!

I'm very curious to see the results of this poll. I actually have no idea who will win. Same here. They both seem to be pretty popular within the fandom. My money's on Ivypool, though.

IVYPOOL FOR THE WIN!!!!! I like Blackstar but he's bland. At least Ivypool has character and isn't a Mary Sue like that bratty sister of hers.

IVYPOOL FOR THE WIN!!!!! I like Blackstar but he's bland. At least Ivypool has character and isn't a Mary Sue like that bratty sister of hers. Dovewing is far from a mary-sue. She's naive, arrogant, whiny, sneaky (meeting with Tigerheart), too trusting, argues with her sister, went to see Sedgewhisker, refuses to let go of friendship, the list can go on. Before you even call someone a mary-sue, how about actually look it up to what the word even means. Dovewing is far from it. Besides Ivypool was just as annoying and not so perfect either. I dislike her.

honestly it's just a pet peeve of mine how people toss out that word as an insult towards Dovewing or Spottedleaf, they're not even that bad. Poorly written? Yeah. But flawed, and NOT perfect. Funny how Dovewing was called both a brat and a sue. Guess what mary-sues aren't? A brat.

Yah you're right @aquathepiplup, Dovewing is too whiny. She became the best apprentice over night while Ivypool had to work hard.

Yah you're right @aquathepiplup, Dovewing is too whiny. She became the best apprentice over night while Ivypool had to work hard. She's not even the "best". It's not her fault she's so popular, and she feels bad she's getting all of the attention and even feels like Ivypool deserves it more than she does. And keep in mind, Dovewing is a child who was forced to grow up fast. Ivypool had a normal childhood; Dovewing didn't. Right when she came out of the nursery, Jayfeather told her she's part of the Three, who has to save all four Clans from the Dark Forest. Dovewing only "whined" because.. maybe she's a child, barely out of the nursery? And when she whined about losing her powers, it's because she realised how important they were to her and the Clans. Actually she didn't even complain or whine about that; she was worried. Ivypool is an unbearable creature. She was just as immature as Dovewing was, wanting to become better than her. She didn't have a prophecy forced upon her the moment she was born as a kit. She just pulled the "poor me" card because cats compared her to her sister. Was she rejected? No. Did she have a loving family? Yeah. Did she have support? Yep. She had Cinderheart. Whitewing loved her from what I remember. Ivypool was the one who got mad at Dovewing for getting all of the attention. She's not a monster, she too is just a whiny child who has to grow up, but Ivypool wasn't perfect either. Her life wasn't tragic; her life was simple. There are cats who truly felt unwanted like Violetpaw, cats who actually gossiped about her, who had a bad reputation in her Clan. Ivypool was loved, she had a good life, she was just selfish and mean because her sister was getting all of the attention. She was poorly written like Dovewing, her backstory used for jealousy once again, just like they did with the other cats. Ivypool was bullied maybe.. once by Blossompaw? And even then, they both got over it. Dovewing wanted to be with her sister. But because of the prophecy, it has separated them. Jayfeather told her not to tell, and the only cat she could feel free with and be herself was with Tigerheart. I don't like Tiger x Dove but at least Dovewing feels free and can be herself around him. This is why their relationship is childish, because both characters feel free from something that controls them. Honestly I feel like the Erins tried too hard with Ivypool. Dovewing goes on an adventure, so she feels jealous and becomes distant wih her. Ivypool was also not that good of a spy either, and this is what people give her so much credit for. I'm not disappointed at the fact that she didn't report about the Trainees, I can understand that since Lionblaze was a jerk face and too quick to judge, but there were other things she could have reported that she did learn about, like Mapleshade wanting to kill the kits so their mothers wouldn't have anything left to fight for. Dovewing woke Ivypool up, and what did she say? "There isn't anything important to report." Come on, that was important, and she didn't even tell her own sister. If anyone is too whiny, it is Ivypool. She was the one who fought Dovewing multiple times over something silly. She was the one who chose to become distant with her. Dovewing tried, but the Three told her not to tell. And when she tried to warn her sister about the dangers in the Dark Forest, did Ivypool listen? Nah, she kept feeling jealous and kept putting herself in danger every night. Ivypool isn't brave, she didn't even want to go to the Dark Forest, she was terrified every time she went there, she's a coward who doesn't deserve all of this credit people are giving her while they bash on her underrated sister for being a sue.

I think I read something if Ivypool stayed with the DF that she might've gave info to them and would've won the great battle.
