Yeah, summer just started for me and I really wanna do some 1x1 action. Nothing too stressful, probably not too much planning because I find that when I start planning stuff with someone I never want to stop and start the RP and ruin everything we planned.
I'm also sorta in the mood for a fandom rp. I've just been getting into fanfiction and stuff again and I just love taking other folks' worlds and completely ruining them. Fandom RP isn't necessary though, of course, I just want a sorta relaxed semi-lit(small paragraph with some exceptions for 1/2 liners) rp for a while.
Also, I'm sorry, but if this thread is already claimed, please PM me instead if you wanna RP. Having more than one person in a thread like this one is a bit overwhelming and I never end up RPing with any of them. Again, sorry.
So I'm gonna give a list of stuff I like/want to do, and you can match it up with what you like and we'll come up with a small plot together and start RPing it.
Stuff I sorta really wanna do right now Harry Potter MCU
Stuff I'm always up for Crossovers Medieval fantasy Slice of Life Wholesome gays
Stuff I've done before and I wouldn't mind doing again but it's also not really my first choice Doctor Who Percy Jackson Fallout MLP Historical Sci-fi
Stuff I absolutely love but I've RPed it so gosh dang often lately you'd need a really cool plot to do them with me Pokemon Soul Eater
Stuff I never ever do Pure fluffy romance I need some plot dang it! Also I'm super bad at shipping. Most plots should probably be platonic, at least at first, with romance only if there's good chemistry between the characters.

Hey, Sherk! I'm always up for some gold old Harry Potter. I'm also fine with Percy Jackson and Historical and stuff like that. I could also do MCU though I'm not as experienced with it. I'm more of a...curious bystander...than an actual fan]

Heyo Semp!
I've actually been super in the mood for Harry Potter lately, so I'd love to do fhat with you.
What sorta plot would you like to do? During Hogwarts years or after? Or, alternatively, do you have a plot in mind?

[I actually didn't have a plot in mind, but honestly, if it's in the Harry Potter universe, I'm happy.
I don't mind as to the setting. I love doing plots during the years where Harry, Ron and Hermione are at Hogwarts but I do also love doing earlier years of Hogwarts, like when Tom Riddle was there.]

If we would do a plot when Harry Ron and Hermione are at Hogwarts, how big a role would they play? Would our characters just be running around and trying to exist while everything's going down?
I've actually never played a Harry Potter RP set in Hogwarts while they were there. I'm in one set in a non-canon school, but that's about it.

[Well I don't necessarily mean exactly while they're there, but at least close to the time. I was thinking less of an exact canon setting. We could kind of have fun with an opening of the Chamber of Secrets or something? I don't know I'm really bad at coming up with plots from scratch when it's Harry Potter.]

I'm trying to think of a few plots, and I'll dump them all in a post in a few minutes.

We could do something set after Harry, Ron, and Hermione went to Hogwarts, modern day, and about muggle and wizard cultures getting reintroduced to each other. Because every random Joe in the street has a camera and access to youtube now, and the Statute of Secrecy would get super hard to enforce, and that could be interesting to explore. Characters would probably be ambassador types? Muggle and a wizard. I'm not sure precisely, it's more of an issue that's happening than an actual plot.
Maybe someone was homeschooled until like 3rd/4th year and they're just coming to Hogwarts and what the heck how does this school work my education was lacking I don't know these spells help me please.
Ahh I kept on trying to come up with more that's literally all I have. I really like muggle/wizard interactions as a rule though.

Awesome! I was excited for that as well!
What sorta characters should we have? One of us should probably play a muggle, and do you wanna focus high-up, where all this is happening, or more on the dregs, the everyday community, and how it's changing?

[Well, I think we should focus on the high-up stuff, it might be fun. And yeah, one of us should be a muggle. I don't mind which one of us, to be honest, since I'm cool with either]

Hm, alrighty.
I don't have much of a opinion either. I think that wizard would be easier to rp for me? Where should we start? Right after muggles discover the wizarding world? During peace talks? Maybe before and they were mild acquaintances before the wizards were discovered?

[You can be the wizard, that's fine.
Maybe we start with the peace talks after the muggle world has been discovered. but maybe your wizard/witch was a muggleborn and so they knew my muggle before they went to Hogwarts? So the characters have a bit of history?]

[I'm not sure what you want for length so I'll just do this and match your reply length afterwards]
A young woman headed towards a rather unassuming building. Small and quite ordinary. Unmarked. But she knew it would be extremely grand inside.
So this is what wizardkind had lowered itself to in order to hide from 'muggles', as they called those who didn't possess magic. Hiding in plain sight. And peace talks with muggles. Discussions of how the magical and non-magical worlds could coexist.
Rhiannon Thistlewaite was tall and slim, moving gracefully and almost faerie-like. She had deep brown hair cut into a curly pixie cut, porcelain skin and violet eyes. She had quite a striking appearance. As she walked she was adjusting the grey suit she was wearing. She'd been instructed to dress formally. This was official business, after all.
So the young woman headed inside the building, and surely enough inside it was all marble and chandeliers. Sort of like a TARDIS - larger on the inside than on the outside. Once inside, she headed to the meeting room where she would be meeting the ambassador representing wizardkind.

OOC: I vary in post length a lot(usually I'm shorter than this post, and thus take less time ho boy that took a while to write), and I honestly don't care how long you wanna go. Whatever you're comfy with.
BIC: As Rhiannon moved through the building, she was met by stares from all sorts of wizards. A muggle in a ministry building was nigh unheard-of. Before now, the only muggles who'd known of wizards and magic had been those at the very top branches of government, only those who needed to know. Now...
It had been wizardkind's own hubris and unwillingness to change and adapt to the muggles' new technologies that had been their downfall. Trials were happening daily, every wizard that had been caught on CCTV or put on youtube was being questioned. But it was impossible to tell who had been the first one, the patient zero.
The International Statute of Secrecy was in shambles, and it was impossible for wizards to go back into hiding.
So they had to learn to live with muggles, and today would be a momentous step into a peaceful coexistence.
The wizarding world's chosen ambassador was odd, to say the least. He was not the minister or anything like that, but rather just a muggleborn wizard who held a small position in the ministry. He was chosen primarily for his already close relationship to muggles: a pureblood might seek war with muggles, and a halfblood might not understand just how deep the divide between the two worlds was. He had gone through intense legilimency trials in order to determine that he didn't have a corrupt bone in his body.
Matthew Hudson stood quietly outside the meeting room, dressed in his best: dark heather grey robes with yellow accents(a callback to his Hogwart's house). He had wanted to wear a muggle suit, but that had been vetoed by the Ministry. He was a relatively unassuming-looking man: average height, rectangular glasses, black hair. Matt waited outside the meeting room for the muggle representative, trying not to think about how whatever would happen in that room would affect the wizarding and muggle communities quite possibly forever.

The stares had been more than a little unsettling, but the woman kept her cool. She understood the reason for them. She was a muggle. The whole reason there was so much trouble in the wizarding world right now. The sentiment was perfectly reasonable, even if she didn't much like being stared at.
Rhiannon was a young aspiring politician, already showing plenty of promise in her chosen political party. But when the prime minister had called a meeting with Rhiannon, the young woman had understandably been rather surprised. She was growing, certainly, but she was definitely nowhere near that influential yet.
It had originally been only the prime minister who had any information on the wizards. It wasn't quite so now. But the muggle world still wasn't aware of a lot of things. The Ministry of Magic, for one. So the prime minister had been the one to tell her that she would meet at the ministry with a wizard representative.
She had been chosen because of her ties to the wizarding world. Somehow the government had dug up that Rhiannon Thistlewaite had been friends with a young wizard before anyone else even knew about them. Of course, Rhiannon hadn't understood anything of it at the time. The wizard had been muggleborn and they had kept their magic fairly well hidden from Rhiannon, as a muggle. But she still knew a little bit about it. Tiny tidbits about the wizarding world that she had kept secret since a child.
As she approached the room, she saw a young man standing there. She thought she recognised him, but there could only be one wizard she could feel this sense of recognition with. It had to be...
"Matthew Hudson"

Matt had been watching her approach(in her suit, she was very easy to pick out among the sea of robes), trying to place her mildly familiar face. Had he met her before? She sort of looked like Sonja, one of the girls in his year. But obviously, she was not Sonja.
"Good, they already told you my name." He smiled at her and opened the door, "shall we begin?" He paused a moment, staring intently at her, then a flash of recognition swept across his face: "Rhiannon!" He cried, "wow!" Who woulda thought? "I never would've guessed." They're grown up next door to each other, and played together occasionally. Then he'd gotten his Hogwarts letter and they sorta grew apart. Friendships are formed on proximity, and he had been miles away in Scotland. Sure, there was summer, but three months out of twelve was hardly enough time.

Rhiannon had paused for a moment, waiting to see if he would recognise her, and she burst into laughter at the look of sudden recognition on his face.
"Yeah, it's me. Great to see you again, Matt." Rhiannon smiled as she entered the room with the wizard she had grown up alongside. Well, this was certainly going to be interesting. She couldn't help but wonder if those who arranged the meeting had known they knew eachother specifically. It made sense, Rhiannon supposed. They had known that she had been friends with a wizard as a child, so she supposed it wasn't much of a stretch that they might know which wizard. There weren't all that many wizards in the country anyway.
Once inside the room, Rhiannon took a seat on one of the chairs on either side of a table. She couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by how momentous the discussion was that she was about to be a part of.
"Well," Rhiannon began "You'll have to thank the Ministry for me for inviting me. It's a pleasure to be here, certainly."

Matt closed the door quietly behind them, and took a seat opposite her. "It's a pleasure to have you." He agreed, "although I'm sorry to say that not everyone in the Ministry shares that sentiment." Blood purists, mostly. Even the whole fiasco with the Second Wizarding War had not fully wiped out the antiquated ways of thinking.
He pulled out his wand and flicked it, summoning a pitcher of water and two glasses, "would you like some?" He asked as he magically poured some for himself.
He took a drink, then sort of sighed, "I'd love to catch up, I really would, but there's a lot to get into. Where would you like to start? Is there anything about the magical world that you need to know?"

Rhiannon shook her head to reject the offer of a drink of water, though she did watch the magic. She found it fascinating, but in order to remain professional, she pretended to be completely uninterested in it. They would have to move on
"Well, I am obviously here to best protect the interests of the muggle community - that includes the hiding of the magical world, though of course, this is no longer an option. The Prime Minister gave me a lot of research to do for this meeting on magical history and current issues, including the current state of the Statute of Secrecy. But my question is this; what threat does the magical world pose to the non-magical one? I know that in the past there have been some wizards expressing a desire to enslave muggles - notably the late Gellert Grindelwald - and that blood purity is still a hot topic for wizardkind. Do you believe that there will be wizards who will act on their beliefs that muggles are inferior?"
|

"Honestly?" Matt asked, "yes."
"Even though the majority of the wizarding community is perfectly fine with muggles and muggle-born, there's always the outliers. We can't avoid that." It was a sad fact of life that there would always be hate and there would always be prejudice, "but even when we were in hiding, we would always seek to put a stop to anything like that. That won't change anytime soon. The only difference is that you will know what's going on, and aurors may be able to collaborate with police." That was a best-case scenario, of course.
Matt steepled his fingers underneath his chin, "I can't promise you that every wizard is going to like 'going public', and some might react violently. But I daresay there may be similar reactions from the muggle community. That's the main reason we went into hiding in the first place, you know." He'd done some research on magical history after school. Turns out it was pretty interesting when it wasn't being taught by Binns. "No-one wants to be burned at the stake or lynched."

Rhiannon nodded "Okay. I believe it would be more than possible, highly beneficial even, to have aurors collaborate with police. Of course, it will have to be a slow process, integrating aurors into the police force, just as it will have to be a slow process to properly introduce muggles and wizards to one another. Muggles are not very trusting of powers they do not understand. It is vital that we quickly show muggles that wizards are not threats, and vice versa, to avoid any violence. After the initial suspicion and mistrust have blown over, it will have to be a slow integration process. These social media uploads are what is making the muggles hostile because they do not yet understand the magical world and fear that the wizards are too powerful to be trusted. We must dispel these attitudes if we are to make this go smoothly."
There was a pause as Rhiannon adjusted her position in her seat, clearly deep in thought.
"So," she began after this pause "Do you have any questions for me?"
