Do we still want to keep StarClan? I thought it'd be interesting to have a separate ideology, since everyone uses StarClan.

I was thinking of just using the Native American theology that says that everyone has a spirit animal, and becomes that animal when they die. We could make a list of animals and their associated traits; for instance, the truly immoral, selfish cats become Gila Monsters, the animal of DarkClan, while perhaps a particularly manipulative cat could become a rattlesnake.

hmm, i'm not sure... i kinda think keeping StarClan is a good idea. we could add different theologies - such as the animal guardians - but keeping a place where cats go to die (like a heaven), and also a place that delivers less urgent messages to leaders and medicine cats (and gives leaders their nine lives) seems like a good idea to me.

The spirit animals could provide guidance; perhaps the spirits of those close to a certain cat could provide them with guidance.
Personally, I just think that StarClan is way overused and not exactly suitable for this roleplay.

hmm, i see where you're coming from, but StarClan is typical for Clan cats. i'm still partial to keeping StarClan, but ultimately, if you guys don't want to, i'll go along with whatever you want.

i wish i could offer more, but honestly, i'm fine with either side.
personally, i don't know about spirit animals, but i can see why it would fit in with the roleplay so going with that would be fine.
also, since the clans split up because of different morals, we could also make them have different belief systems idk man

okay, i'm not a huge fan of the resurrection idea. but that's just me. i think the guardian animal should be sacred, and cats should go to StarClan. but that could be only OwlClan's belief, if you all want to do the resurrection thing.

Like Jas said, maybe each Clan could have its own beliefs? DarkClan would be most interested in a theology that benefitted them as individuals, SunClan what benefitted the state, etc.

Maybe we should change the name of StarClan for Clans that want to use it? Things like MoonClan, SilverClan, etc. also sound rather sacred.

That sounds like a good idea. I think for SolaceClan actually atheism would make sense, since they would think that believing they will go to heaven versus hell is selfish.

Interesting. I really like that idea for SolaceClan

OwlClan is going to keep traditional "StarClan" from the books, i think. whatever SunClan decides to do, we can mash the ideas together for PoolClan's theology.

DarkClan is going to basically be the guys who twist theology to suit their own needs, whatever they may be.

Okay so religion is mostly sorted out. Individual Clan territories? We agreed on a desert for the overall theme. Perhaps the oasis could be at the center of the Clans' territories, and is supposed to be a place of peace that all Clans can access? I could see that as being a reason for the Clans to fight later on.

mmm, so i'm still confused about religion, but i guess we'll skip over that for now. what are the gathering places and the StarClan meeting places, if there are any?

Seeing as your Clan Scarpath seems to be the only one using StarClan, then the StarClan meeting place should be in your Clan's territory.

Jas Should SolaceClan and DarkClan border each other?
|
|
|
Post by Scarpath on Aug 17, 2016 0:16:22 GMT -5
well, since SunClan and OwlClan split a territory, and therefore have to border each other, DarkClan and SolaceClan also have to border each other.
and Red - i was thinking about using kind of an oasis as the StarClan meeting place, so maybe that's the oasis where PoolClan got its name? i think i'll call it the Starpool, or something like that, but it can be a smaller oasis than the one in the center of the territories, if we're still doing that. sound good?

Scarpath Realistically, there wouldn't be two oases that close to each other. I know this is a fantasy type thing and all, but I want to try and keep the "extremely hard to survive" thing true, because it's a main aspect of the roleplay.
