(I'm pretty bored so I decided to start a jump-in roleplay with a pretty basic plot so I can hopefully roleplay with some people and maybe we can see where this goes.
Plot: Earth just ain't the same anymore, war has struck each and every place and empathy is just so hard to find. Government is no longer really a thing, well a good thing for that matter, it no longer is a sign of order and stablity but one of general hurt and madness as a soldiers boot is just means of tyranny. Various gangs and looters run the underlying cities of the world, especially those of America. Food and water is like a precious treasure to behold up to even a can of beans... Earth is ruled by psychos as they are the ones to survive this harsh cruel world with an iron fist. Those in poverty dare not step out of line under means of being shot down and used as lunch meat, it's just how it goes under the New Earth's "Order" of things.)
Zero was a simple man with simple needs, yet even those simple needs seemed hard to find under the cruel boot of the tyrannical order simply called "The Rising Sun". They claimed to be some sort of Gods in the making, the saviors of the Earth, but they were just another cruel reminder of the world in which Zero lived. He slung a small looking rucksack over his shoulders, as he picked through the ruins of an old building, hoping that he would find maybe even just one can of beans. His shaggy hair was covered in grease and his face mucked in dirt, for his cleanliness was the last thing on his mind. Zero always carried a blank look on his face, blocking out any emotions that could be held due to his current situation, he never wanted to show weakness, for he felt weakness would simply get him killed.

Zero wasted hours upon hours in that small torn down building, clinging to some hope he would find something, anything. He began to dig through the assorted rock piles that were littered throughout these ruins with his bare hands like he was some sort of furry fox hunting for a rabbit hole. Being dirty was a lifestyle for Zero and he grew used to the stink and grime that came along with his very need for survival.

(sure for a little bit)
Asher knew it was only a matter of time before he died. So what harm was it to live what life he had on the edge? That's what he tried to tell himself, at least, as he sat --trying not to shake-- at the top of a crumbled building, literally hanging his feet over the edge. He looked to the horizon, not to the ground four stories below his feet, and though he wanted to recreate what the city had looked like before the Wars, the reality of things made it impossible to recall the shining glass and sleek metal of the past. He knew Riku would be calling for him soon, knew being up here doing nothing was only wasting time he should be using in more productive ways. Or as Riku would probably say-- "You're not helping us." "Just thinking of you, Riku," Asher said, cautiously pulling his legs back onto solid, or, well, mostly solid, ground. "How'd you find me up here?" Riku shrugged, flicked his dark hair out of his face. Stupid, he refused to have it cut, so it always hung over his eyes, getting in the way. Asher wondered how he wasn't already annoyed to death of it, but knew asking wouldn't give him an answer so he didn't bother.

(Yay, thanks!)
Zero found a can of old beans lodged between some old mortar and yanked it out without a second thought. With this luck, he may live another day, maybe another two days. He quickly shoved the beans deep into his small rucksack hoping nobody nearby found out his discovery, he didn't want any madmen coming to snatch away his precious food. As he exited the ruined building, he peered around the area carefully trying not to make himself well known, his only goal now was to run back to his secure cabin, well as much as a cabin as it was now under The Rising Sun. Zero inhaled the dusty air once before stepping forward, making his journey with small steps.

(Hi, I'd love to join in)
Rei ducked down behind some old walls, for once, enjoying the fact that they were pretty small in stature. There didn't seem to be any gangs lurking about. Who knew when The Rising Sun would jump out to kill everything? They let out a low huff before starting to make their way down the muddy path, soon enough, they caught sight of a stinking waste of a male. They nearly wanted to vomit at the smell. Then again, there were worse things to be disgusted at. They ran a hand through their black hair, styled in a short undercut, before they narrowed their pale eyes to him. "You don't look too good." they muttered to him while starting to casually make their way towards him.

(Love to have you.)
Zero backed up untrustingly at the approach of this stranger. He gulped making sure his can of bean were still situated in his rucksack before looking back up at Rei with his head tilted. "Yeah, who does? Look I'm just trying to get back to where I belong, I found nothing here, it's already picked clean," spoke Zero, lying through his teeth. He waited for the stranger to hopefully just leave him be if anything, his senses on high alert.

Rei raised an eyebrow at that. Well, this guy was a real ray of sunshine... Who would be in a place like this? They glanced around for a moment or two before they narrowed their eyes at the horizon. "Look, I happen to be in a charitable mood, you mind if I tag along? Groups are usually good to have anyway... I have a knife and I sort of take directions well." they said bluntly to him.

"Tag along? With me?" Zero seemed surprised, curling his lips ever so slightly. He pats himself down, wiping the dust off his raggedy clothing items, blinking at Rei. "Charitable is that some kind of funny word for wanting to take my stuff? Is this how you express such a thing, I told you I have nothing!". Zero blinked at this stranger, unsure if he was in danger or not, especially after the knife being put into the equation.

Rei held their hands up defensively, "I don't want anything from you!" they huffed at him, "If I've learned anything, it's that groups are good for morale or some crap like that." they huffed while shoving their hands in the pockets of their sleeveless hoodie. "I'm not looking to rob you, that would be a waste of energy anyway." they added while they looked off to the distance.

"Nice vantage," Riku stated, ignoring Asher's question. "Hey, look at that." Asher made his way to his friend's side, hesitating as he approached the precipice again. Riku pointed and Asher followed his finger to the road beyond, spying two people out in the middle of the street. They appeared to be talking. "Wonder if they have anything worthwhile." "Leave them be, we have enough." "Enough for now," Riku muttered, but sheathed the knife that had flashed into his hand, making it disappear just as quickly as it had appeared, almost as if it didn't exist. "We should still check them out. They are in our territory, after all. Wonder if they're some of those Black Dragon scum." It was Asher's turn to shrug, but he followed as Riku turned away from the edge and back to the stairwell, taking the flight two steps at a time. Asher followed at a more reasonable pace, knowing Riku, impulsive idiot as he was, would still have the sense to wait for him before confronting two strangers alone.

Gulping down his fear, Zero nodded slowly as he stepped forwards just a bit. "Well if you say so man, I suppose you can help me get back to my cabin... it's safe over there, well at least tucked away so it's not out in the open like this where scavengers can have at us." He spoke with an ever so soft tone about him. Zero said not another word as he really wanted to ditch this area so he kicked up his feet and started walking away, not caring if Rei followed him or not.

"Yeah, trust goes both ways, I'm smart enough not to take you on anyway." Rei told him while pulling their hood over their head, then they looked over their shoulders to see two other figures. "Hey... Think we're being followed." they told him while reaching over to touch his shoulder for a moment before they warily pulled out a combat knife. "Just a precaution." they added, not wanting Zero to freak out if he saw the knife in hand.

(still trying to decide if I want these two to actually be a part of Rising Sun.)
Asher noticed the glint of steel first and pointed it out to Riku. "Think we've been found out," he whispered to air, jumping up in dismay, too late to have stopped Riku from heading forward with a shout and a wave. "Sorry," Asher called out belatedly, his voice almost lost under Riku's. "You guys know this is right in the middle of Rising Sun territory right? Not very smart to be around here at all, let alone in the middle of the street. If we saw you, who else could?" Asher caught up with Riku, who hadn't made it to the other two, but crossed at least half the distance between the strangers and their cover. He grabbed Riku by the shoulder, slipping Riku's knife out of his back pocket. Just in case.

(Rising Sun is not a gang but basically, a tyrannical order that thinks they're some Gods and saviors of the people and are very cruel, my bad for not explaining that more.)
Zero stared at the newcomers letting out a sigh, if this was his day to die then it sure did seem like it. "What's not their territory anymore? Everywhere I go is traces of their banner... don't remind me, I'm trying to leave this area as soon as I can, but many an interruption is brought upon me," explained Zero slightly irritated at being stuck in this one spot for two long. He didn't trust any of these newcomers, in fact, he was always worried he'd get stabbed in the back.

Rei narrowed their eyes while cocking their head from side to side. "Yeah? Well if you're part of that, my apologies to whatever godliness you're striving to be." they couldn't help but bow mockingly before standing up straight. "You trying to get something or are you just trying to mess around with passerbys?" they figured it wasn't their call if these guys wanted to hitch along with them. All they could really do was try and make sure their acquaintance didn't get himself hurt.

(oooooh hrm well I'll figure something out to do with them then also don't be waiting for me, gaming with long matches rn)
Asher noticed Riku tapping where his knife should have been, glad he had removed it. "We're not with them." "Not anymore," Riku added with a flash of a grin. Asher sighed and put the knife away, stepping out from behind Riku and making an helpless gesture. "We're wandering, staking out new territories. Our base just was raided by some Black Dragons and we're scouting out for the others." He gave Riku a sidelong glance, rolled his eyes. "And of course I got paired up with him." "You mean blessed by my presence." "Whatever."

Zero didn't know how to respond to this but was glad that they weren't part of the order. He pressed on without another word at that, not caring much for small talk when there was other more pressing matter to behold, like arriving back at that cabin so he could crack open his can of beans and finally eat something. It must of been days since Zero has eaten anything other then some bugs and he planned to take it slow and savor every last bite of these beans, even if they were to turn out plain he still wouldn't mind.

"Yeah, then mind your business." Rei shook their head a little more while they turned their back to the two of them to start walking off with the other man. The last thing they needed was for a real confrontation. After all, he didn't have anything to really defend themselves, and it wasn't like they stood much of a chance taking on two guys head on. They shoved their hands into their pockets while kicking a small stone with a bit of a sigh. "You found beans? Nice." they chuckled, seeing that he wasn't planning on sharing.

Zero didin't warrant Rei with any form of a response, walking onward in a quick, hurried pace trying to reach his destination especially before the sun rises again. Sunlight was a time for trouble and Zero surely didin't want any trouble. He could see his goal in sight as he walked onwards, almost tasting the beans and the nap that would soon follow it.

(thanks for the bit of jump in guys!! I'm probably just going to jump it out here now that you have something going ;D)
Riku watched the two as they left, held back from following by Asher's restraining hand. "They're right, leave them be. They don't look dangerous anyways." Asher held forth the knife in compromise and Riku took it none too gently, shoving the point back in his belt. "But that way. Are you sure--" "They'll live. Now come on we have to report back before dark." Asher turned and started westwards, back to where they had left the rest of their group while they scouted. He felt Riku lingering behind, knew he was debating whether or not to follow. To be honest, Asher didn't mind. A guy as annoying as Riku wasn't going to die that easily, and after the raid. . . well Asher didn't really care if he was caught. Probably had better food, he thought with a chuckle. "Asher?" He slowed his steps, enough for Riku to catch up in a brisk walk. "You think that old building is a good enough outpost?"

Rei kept their hands in their pockets while they narrowed their eyes for a moment or two while glancing to the horizon. They tilted their head to the side while they had to jog a little more after the man. "Hey, I'm Rei, I don't think I mentioned that." they said while they were already feeling tense. A part of them figured that maybe The Rising Sun wouldn't coming around anyway.

(No problem, your welcome to come back anytime you'd like!)
Zero tilted his head as he finally saw the cabin in sight, kicking his feet up in rapid succession. "I'm Zero, well that's what I am now," he stated in response to Rei, giving her a brief backward glance. Upon arriving at the cabin, he plopped down on a half torn up couch, taking out his can of beans before stabbing it open the best he could.

Rei nodded in understanding before walking after him with a small sigh. "Is it cool if I crash here until the sun goes down?" they asked him while they ran a hand through their hair for a moment or two. They couldn't help but feel a little self conscious about intruding on his space.

"Yeah, go right ahead, just don't make too much noise," responded Zero, giving Rei quite the blank look while digging into the can of beans. He ate like a hyena not minding any of his manners what so ever, it was obvious Zero hasn't eaten anything in some time or at least anything capable of satisfying his empty stomach.

Rei nodded softly while they sat down on the couch, letting out a low huff. "Mmh, fine." they said while they felt their own stomach cramp up in hunger. They bit their lip while starting to try sleeping off their own hunger. Their eyes closed while letting out a low hum, running a hand through their short hair.

Zero itched at his nose, peering over at Rei for a short moment then eyed back down at his can of beans. A few bites were left... he thought ever so silently as he slowly got up from his couch, stretching out. Feeling almost slightly guilty he padded over to Rei on the couch and simply dropped the can next to her with the few bites of beans that were left in the thing after his ravaging hunger got ahold of it.

Rei tensed up a bit when he came walking over to them. They opened their eyes and raised an eyebrow curiously at him before giving him a small nod. "Thanks." they murmured before they took hold of the can and began to shovel a couple of the bites into their mouth with shaking fingers. Oh well, hygiene was basically dead out here in the first place. They let out a satisfied sigh, glad that their hunger pangs were lessening.

Zero just nodded as he headed back over to his side of the cabin, plopping his feet down over the couch. He let out a brief yawn, sealing his eyes shut while his head was tilted upon the ceiling. Strange was it really to have any form of company at a time like this and Zero secretly enjoyed it though he didn't say anything out loud to this stranger because he preferred not to show emotion, as emotion was weakness, especially in a cruel stone hardened world like this.
