Bright, amber light cascaded down from the platinum blue sky that was blotched with pastel blue. Light, fluffy clouds dotted the sky, though it was relatively clear. The canopy of lush trees cast shadows along the relatively white, brick pavement. Shrubbery and tall grass blanketed the ground that wasn't loftily trampled over or or replaced with hard stone or brick ground. Every summer, the normally soft breeze carried on it the sweet scent of honey that would linger through the beginnings of Autumn. Through autumn, there would be the opulent, candied smell of syrupy sap that would be harvested and baked into treats and used on pancakes and french toast all throughout winter. Spring would bring the bitter-soft tang of grass and fluorescent smell of flowers.
For the time being, it was the brink between Spring and Summer. Curious, young Pokemon would wander into the quaint city and the subtle scent of honey mingled with the calming scent of flowers. Tallow and Starly filled the air with trills of bell-like notes accompanied by the low tones of Pidgey and sometimes joined in by the curious notes of Fletchling.
There was a vast variety of trifles and amusements. Little bakeries dotted the city along with boutiques. There were two Pokemon Salons in the city and there was even a Pokemon Daycare and Breeder. There was a small school in the west-end of the city, near where the majority of the community lived, was where most locals learned the basics of life. Most people only attending for three years, from six to nine years old were where most ages were spanned. There was a theatre where live performances were held once a month, sometimes twice if there was a special occasion. Along with all this, there was a Pokemon center in the middle of the City. The furthest South-East of the City was a lavish arena that dipped into the ground with rows of chairs spiraling along the slanted surface of the arena walls so people could watch the Pokemon battles. There is a long staircase at the head of the arena which made its way up back to the white, brick-paved streets.
Then, there was the Crestfall Tower. People said it was the 'center' of the city because that's why most tourists came to Lorelle City. In reality, it was more skewed South-East than the center. It was made of grey bright with real golden accents. It had an outward, spiral staircase that wrapped around the outside of the tower, though it had been crumbling for decades and was unlace to use. Halfway up, there was a terrace with a wooden arch that was overgrown with draping flowers and ivy. At the top stood a bell that rested on a chain under a hood of cracking marble where ivy had managed to weave itself into. Inside the tower were a move of staircases, hallways and rooms. Multiple ways lead up to a single way that would lead to the topmost point of the tower where the bell could be rung. The others simply lead to open, dead ends or crumbling stone where the floor had given way. The first time the bell was every rung was fifty six years ago, two days from now. Every year, on the day the bell had first been rung, there would be a series of tag-team Pokemon battles. Eight trainers would move on to the race inside the tower where they would find their way to the top and the first two people there would stand at the top and put on a display of their Pokemon's unique abilities. Whoever's was voted the most pleasant by the majority of the selected 'jury', so to speak, would get to ring the bell with their Pokemon. It was a two-day event and would start tomorrow with the pokemon battles.
"Alisha!" It was a male's voice and held an edge of complaint to it. "If you don't slow down I'm going to end up dropping them!" A girl with copper hair and milky-peach skin spun on her heels and ran backwards, looking on at him with a amusement dancing in her eyes. "Oh, come on! Fine then, but we're going to stop for spice-cake and tea then." She replied, triumph lacing in her voice. Three red bags, each shaded a slightly different color, one with silver handles, another with white handles and the third with violet handles, sat on top of a beige-cream box sealed with a crimson ribbon, which, in turn, sat upon a second box which was a royal blue with silver accents. Behind these containments, a face peered out from the side, pinched in concentration of trying not to drop the items. Granted, the boxes were only about ten inches in length, twelve in width and three in height, and the bags quite small themselves, there were still hard to balance while trying to keep up with a generally giddy, running girl. The creature holding these was a Pokemon, more specifically, he was a Lucario. Alisha, the girl with the copper hair, generally referred to him as Luc. They'd known each other for a long time, they were best friends, to say the least. Luc let out a sigh, though he had a smile painted on his face and she knew he wasn't mad.
She turned back around and walked to her right, coming up to a beige door with a dark handle. There was a large, pristine window to the left of the door, a planter sitting out front housing flowers with shades carrying between coral and pastel pink. She opened the door and stepped in, a little bell chiming as if to welcome her. She seated herself at a small table next to the window and she set down her own shopping bag, which was decent sized. She smoothed her black skirt and her shirt was a cream in color with black rims. Luc sat down across from Alisha and set his burden down beside his own seat.
(I promise you one thing, my normal posts aren't/won't be nearly as long as this. I just got carried away describing the town and introducing my characters!)
