The Treehuggers
quiet souls, intelligent minds.
-*-
introduction
As you dawdled in the forest, sudden rustling noises made your heart begin to race. It could be anything. The rustling became louder, louder, burning your very ears every second; flashing suspense across the lonesome forest.
Louder. Louder.
Would you make it out alive? Is it a bear? A deathly cougar?
Scratching through leaves..
Rustling bushes...
A tall feminine approached you. She was clothed in leaves- large, acacia leaves connected by a plant stem, covering her breasts. She had a leafy skirt with large blossoms dancing on it, almost every color. She was barefoot, but had large peacock feathers connecting her shirt and skirt. She had a large stick clothed in leaves near the top, which on the top had a blooming, pink blossom. She had a flower crown atop her head, with waves of caramel down her back.
"Who are you, scoundrel?" Her voice boomed, her strange appearance troubling you. Her emerald eyes flashed, scanning you for danger. She narrowed her eyes.
"Come," she snarled, as if you were some dog.
You stood, quietly, not moving. Slipping your hands in your pockets, you were just prepared to leave. As you started to walk, the female quickly dashed to you and aimed the spear at your throat. Her tall posture and muscular arms unveiled, and you held your breath.
"I said, come!" She grasped your shoulders and shook you, beady eyes flaming at your throat. You screamed, but she only brought her spear closer to your throat.
You nodded, and she relaxed, but her grip was pinching and tight on your shoulders. She lead you deep into the forest, and called for guards.
Two others, dressed alike; leaves, but no crown; dashed up and grabbed your shoulders. The female you met relaxed her grip and led you deeper into the forest.
You met five or even more large trees, packed with people like her. They stopped chatting when they saw you, and narrowed their eyes. You gulped.

terrain
the Treehuggers live in a jungle forest, living in the trees. They have a main camp where they stay to sleep, and hunt while in the trees. Some completely stay in trees their entire lives.
Their camp is five trees with thick vines on them, surrounded by ferns and such. There are many blossoms, many plants. If you follow one of the trees, you can dip into the Fawn Pond, where a lake sits. You can get fish from this lake with your bare hands.

diet and dangers
contrary to what most may think, the Treehuggers do not eat much meat, nor do they cook the meat. Their stomachs have adjusted to carnivore diets, but also have adjusted to plant eating. Omnivores are not the correct word for these morphed humans. They have sharp teeth and nails, and only grow hair atop their heads.

A baby is born. Her mother is feeding her with milk, and the two return to the mother's den. Each mother has their own den to keep all of their young. The dens are different sizes, depending on the size and amount of young.
Seven years later, our baby girl is in-training. Her teacher is Fern, and the two train until our girl is 16. Then, she is a double or a scout. She trained to be a Scout.
One of the backups dies, and the spot is open. After proving her strength, loyalty, and bravery, our girl is a Backup.
The Monarch is killed. The Backups have a competition to see who will be Monarch.
Our girl is Monarch.
She leads for long years, but when she is hunting a cougar with a party of some, the cougar surprisingly kills her with a quick snarl.
