europe is about to witness the birth of so many memes. on tuesday we got the return of epic sax man and thursday night was the night of vehicles and live proposals. can't wait to see what we come up with tonight.
seriously though, idk what I think of this year. it was better than last year, by far, but that's setting the bar pretty low imo. there's not really a clear winner this year, but I like a few songs that got through so I have a chance at happiness at least.

I missed the two semi finals... Still debating on whether to watch the finals, but it's very likely that I'll watch at least some of it. I've not listened to any of the songs, so I have no idea what's going to be there... I'm just assuming at this stage that the British entry is going to be terrible...

yeah, I have no doubts that the British entry will be just as it has been for the last decade or so seeing as I haven't heard anything about it being very good. pretty sure it won't be any worse than Germany's though, even the little preview made me shrivel up inside

Must watch Germany's entry
What are your favourites this year?

I'm really fond of Portugal's entry, it was so warm and lovely. I also really liked Bulgaria's entry even if it was pretty un-esc.

also romania both yodeled and rapped over electric guitar so they get an honourary mention for just bringing the eurovision game tbh

It's kinda boring this year. The songs are not really interesting.

yeah, I agree, but it's not half as boring as last year so that's something I guess.

I thought the guy sounded a bit constipated with the "huuuuuuuuuuuuuuughhhhhhh" at the end....

omg he did... that's all he is now. constipated.
I don't understand why the commentators get so excited over power ballads? I mean, sure, they're a eurovision staple but they're not that exciting. I can totally get behind the violin, though.

The UK commentator was... not excited by it....
They said it was a fiddle though... I don't like those kind of performances very much.
This one was quite nice.

oh yeah, you get Graham Norton, don't you? I'm so jealous. we get Måns Zelmerlöw which is better than usual, but he's a huge fan of ballads apparently.
maybe it was, idk. didn't pay enough attention
I actually got really into Armenia's song like half way through which I wasn't expecting?
the netherlands don't have a great song but the harmonies are super impressive, so that's something. also, sidenote, I would kill for that jumpsuit. would I ever wear it? no. I just want it in my wardrobe and know that I could wear it.

so apparently italy is the winner according to the polls and such, but I genuinely do not see the appeal of the song. maybe that's just me though?

Graham Norton is so mean and sarcastic..... it's great!
Netherlands... didn't impress me at all...
"Let's go meet somebody!" is my favourite line from a presenter... And that dancing with the crowd was.... interesting....

yeah, I know what you mean. he's not really performing as much as just getting really into the song, really, is he?

he's literally me listening to a musical only he actually manages to sing all the parts. it's pretty impressive how quickly he goes from one genre of music to the other

"weird that spain's entry was 8 minutes long when all the others are 3" it looks like even our commentators aren't afraid to rip on some of these

Someone needs to replace every "Just do it" in the Spanish one with Shia LaBeouf.

omg... I need that like I need air.
and hang on..? is this an actually decent song from the uk? it's not a winner but it's better than any uk entry of the 10s at least not that that's setting the bar very high...
