(( maybe he can like see her curse? And he offers to break it if she helps him break his? Maybe one of the conditions of his curse is that someone has to accept him for everything he's done? ))

(( I was thinking that he could break her curse almost instantly but makes a song and dance of it xD and when he's ready to break his curse she's like wtf ))
(( hmm something to bind and shackle his powers. Hmm clearly there should be a part where he's anchored to the world for his past crimes until the purest of humans can forgive him? ))

(sure shoot (: hey glowbby what exactly is the curse doing to them?) [ I was thinking it would make them start having symptoms of insanity the closer they got to the age of thirty. Or at least what other people would consider insanity. Maybe they're actually magical in some way (like able to see the past or people's deaths or something?) and their powers become more acute as they age. But no one believes them? So women from the family either die from being accused of witchcraft or some other fate. Because there really is a curse on them. ]

Hmm clearly there should be a part where he's anchored to the world for his past crimes until the purest of humans can forgive him? )) [ The problem with breaking her curse instantly is that it's a big part of the plot, not only for her but for the other characters. So I think it should be way more complicated then that. Right? Like maybe he knows there are strict consequences for breaking the curse, both for him and for her. And it requires they do/collect a bunch of things. ]
[ Yeah that's cool. Like he can't completely reach his true potential because the curse is constricting him. And maybe it specifies that breaking it requires the help of an innocent or something? ]

Nighean Blackwood
"I'm in this part of the woods because I'm collecting mushrooms, as I said before," Nighean said, feeling increasingly annoyed. Something about the man was condescending. He was looking at her as if she were a naive child, even though he couldn't have been more than ten years her senior. "And I'd rather you didn't call me silly pet names, sir," she added, lifting her chin. She crossed her arms over her chest, as if she were claiming the doorway as her own. He looked down at her almost challengingly, and although Nighean was inclined to return home, she would not stand to be looked at in that way. Besides, there was a hint humor in his eyes that alleviated her fear of him.
That fear so quickly subsided that she decided to comment on what was hanging in the window. "You know my mother always said lavender was hung in the homes of magic folk. You aren't a witch, are you?" She said it with a blunt, wry tone, and yet her gaze remained inquisitive. Although there was a suggestion of sarcasm to her question, the intent behind it was honest. She did believe in witches, because she knew the curse that afflicted her family was real. She had experienced the effects of it from young childhood. Watching her mother die of hysteria mixed with physical illness ingrained in her the belief in magic. Although she had a disdain for it, there was also a curiosity. This man, while incredibly annoying, had a mysterious air to him. It didn't make sense that he would choose to live alone in such an unfriendly place. He did not seem to her a hermit, even if he was bent on making her think that. No hermit would think to call her "little fire".
In fact, the more she thought about it, the more she became convinced that what she was accusing him of was true. She stepped back into the house, eyes scouring the room. They landed on a table with various other herbs. Instantly her attention gravitated to what appeared to be a mortar atop a dusty book. "What's that?" she asked, pointing to it animatedly. She strode over to it to get a closer look, blue eye gaze skipping across the surface like a stone on water. Among the herbs were other odd things including a long raven's feather, a strange coin, and what appeared to be a leg bone of a small animal. She turned back to him, eyes blazing.
"You are. Aren't you?" What overwhelmed her was not rage at having discovered a person of magic, but rather fierce awe. A hint of fear crept back into her chest as well, for the weight of the moment grew heavier by the second. She awaited his answer, despite knowing it was true. Her chest tightened. Perhaps she should have run. Magical people were not to be trifled with. And yet, something prevented her from lifting her feet.
