Buck gave a noncommittal shrug before slowly hauling himself to his feet. He was doubting him, of course. He was doubting everyone in this truck. If they were going to stay out and start having some real fun, they were going to need to be smart and he wasn't sure they had what it took. But it was better than being on his own. At least he had meat shields this way.

Arc turned the truck onto the exit as instructed. "Now watch ahead and let me know where to turn." He requested, trying to go a little slower now that any turn could be the road we needed. He watched people move around outside and he looked at the vehicles they passed. His first instinct was to lose the truck and steal one of their appearances, but there was too high a risk of someone happening to see him. He'd have to go with the plan for now.

I've figured out/discovered that Cameron is lying about why he went to jail. And that he is a massive loser, straight up)
A quick glance over as Buck stood put Cameron a little on esge, did you blame him? Buck was bigger and stronger, and he'd learned in jail that the bigger and stronger ones were never the fun ones to deal with when they went after you. "Right," he peered out the holes, gaze intent as he waited. "That second light, the intersection, turn right, and then you'll be taking an immediate left," he informed him.

"That'll take us straight to the house, or your street?" Arc asked as he followed the cambion's instructions. He watched the road ahead, turning when told, getting caught in one of the lights, then continuing through a few more turns. As he made the last left, he quickly looked to the side view mirrors to make sure no one was following, and that he didn't see any police cars around.

"The street, my house is the second to the end on the left," he told him. "It has like, a bird bath outside," he added because that usually helped people locate the house. "Oh this is so exciting," he snickered. Little did the three of them know that the cops were on the way, speeding through the city towards the house. Why wouldn't they head for the house? If one of them were related to one of the escapees, then it was a good idea to cut them off there.

Arc followed direction once again, stopping the truck outside the house with the birdbath. He looked toward the building, then back at the poke holes in the truck. "You're sure he won't turn us over immediately?" He double-checked. He wasn't entirely ready to bet his freedom on trusting someone he'd never met.

Cameron scowled at the question,"that's my dad, watch what you say. He's totally cool," he insisted, already making his way to the doors. Kicking them open he looked around carefully before grinning wide, sharp teeth flashing almost menacingly. "Come on," he urged, heading for the front door and trying to act as casual as he possibly could. Knocking he glanced around, not about to admit that his heart was pounding roughly in his chest. It took a couple minutes, but eventually the door opened and there stood a middle aged man, around average height and it wasn't totally obvious that he was Cameron's dad since the Cambion's features were mostly demonic. "Cameron? Why are you here??" He asked in confusion before glancing at the others,"oh, you uh, brought friends? Well, come in. Any friend of Cameron's is uh, welcome," he stepped aside to let them in. "Thanks dad!" The young demon looked around almost excitedly, already taking his jumpsuit off as he hurried to his room so he could change. The man watched before looking towards the other two. "I don't recall him ever mentioning he had friends in prison," he debated, adjusting his glasses,"well, my name's Kris," he offered a small smile,"make yourselves at home."

Arc gave a the man a skeptical narrow-eyed look, scanning him up and down. Even if Cameron insisted that this man was trustworthy, he didn't feel the need to place forward any niceties until he had gotten to judge he man himself. There was still the chance the only demon he preferred to be around was Cameron since they were blood relatives. But then Cameron took off, and they were left with the human. He kept his mouth shut, still holding the form of the trucker in the ID photo. He stayed standing where he'd been, almost too suspicious to move from where he was rooted. He expected the man's demeanor to change as soon as the cambion was out of earshot.

Despite Kris' natural nervous nature, he wasn't someone who would turn on another just because of who they were. If they appeared to be friends of Cameron's than he would treat them as such, though he couldn't really blame them if they didn't want to relax around him. "Um, right," he rubbed his arm, looking over when Cameron came back over, pulling a t-shirt over his head and offering the group a grin. "Hey dad, do you have any extra clothes or something for my friends?" The human blinked a couple times before tilting his head, glancing away as he tried to think it over. "I'm not sure, but I'll go check the basement," he offered, walking off. Cameron watched him before looking up at Arc with an almost "I-told-you-so" expression on his face. "See? My dad's a cool guy, so you don't have to be so grumpy looking or anything." Little did the three runaways know that the police were already on their way, instructed not to harm the human as it was possible it could turn into a hostage situation. Not that it would have matted, Kris had no intention of turning his son in. He already had to watch him be taken once, he wasn't interested in seeing him taken again.

Arc gave a quiet shrug, not caring to return Cameron's gaze. He did, however, look over the demon's clothing a moment before polymorphing again. It was quick, happening in the span of only a second or two. It would happen long before Kris would be able to come back up the stairs. He'd changed himself to keep the body of the trucker, but mimic Cameron's clothing in the appropriate size. He stepped out of the jumpsuit and picked it out, folding it several times over in his hand to make it as small as he could.

Blinking a couple times, he raised a brow before grinning once more. "That's...really cool," he mused, inching forward before he started circling the other, eyeing them curiously. "How do you do that?" he asked curiously, because he wasn't able to do that and he couldn't recall coming across anyone else who could change appearance like Arc could. It was just so much cooler than anything he could do! And it really only made Cameron respect the other demon even more.

"I can turn into any human. And steal any set of clothes. But making my own..." Arc shrugged a bit. He'd tried several times, but they always ended up clearly looking like skin... just clothing shaped. "It usually turns out weird. Same with my own faces." It wasn't easy to recall things either, but it tended to go better than creating from scratch. And this way it was funnier to confuse Kris. As far as he was concerned, ditching the jumpsuit and getting to a less-obvious hiding place were his top priorities at the moment. He just wasn't sure if he could convince the others to leave. Cameron seemed so dead-set on staying here, and he had no idea why.

"Seriously!?" he seemed to only get more excited at the idea that Arc could easily take the identity of someone else,"that's so cool, even if you can't make your own that's still really cool," he insisted. Cameron was so set on staying where he was because well, he knew that at least here he was decently safe and accepted. Being young, he was still worried about what others thought, and considering that a lot of people in his hometown no longer would accept him after his crime he wasn't too fond of the idea of leaving. Kris came back up, carrying a box,"this was all I could find, hopefully it works," he stated as he set it down, looking up. Only for his brow to furrow in confusion when he spotted Arc's new clothes, that seemed to look exactly like his son's. "Um," scratching the back of his head, he removed his glasses and cleaned them before putting them back in place. Nope, he wasn't seeing things, Arc had really changed clothes. "How did...you weren't wearing those when you came in were you?"

Arc's lips pressed to a thin line . He was still hesitant to talk to the human, even when directly addressed. He glanced at Cameron briefly, considering on taking on his appearance as an answer. However, the fact that Cameron couldn't pass for human made that a quick no, and he didn't have the ID to reference to change back. And even then, that was just more explaining to do. In truth real clothes tended to complicate things if they weren't outerwear like a jacket or coat.

"Not one to talk much? Well that's okay, we accept all kinds in this house," he mused, offering a friendly smile before making his way to the kitchen. "If you guys have the time, I'm making some tea. If you want some you're more than welcome to have some." Cameron most certainly couldn't and probably would never be able to pass off as human, not with his horns, grey skin, wings, and sharp teeth, on top of his frog like eyes. There was just no way. "He does talk, dad, he talks to me," Cameron insisted,"oh, I don't really know if we can stick around for tea. 'Cause like, we escaped from jail and stuff so we're on the run!" he told him excitedly.

The expression that crossed Arc's face when he looked at Cameron was one that few people would forget. Infuriated and exasperated by the cambion's honesty and openness made him ready to pop him one on the back of the head. How could he just outright say such things? How could he be so friendly to a human, or really anyone? How the hell was he so casual about being here? And worst, he'd ratted him out.

Cameron's happy expression quickly melted away when he saw the look that was being given to him by the other and he bit his lip, glancing away. Oh boy, that certainly wasn't a good look. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked with a frown. "Oh? So that's why you're home," Kris murmured before sighing, but it wasn't really one of disappointment, it was almost as if he was used to things like this from his son. "I guess that means you three should be on your way as soon as possible huh? If you need anything, feel free to take it. And please stay out of trouble, and stay safe. And make sure you're eating well, just because you're on the run doesn't mean you shouldn't look after yourself." Kris had accepted a long, long time ago that his life would never be normal as long as his son was around and had found that just going with whatever was happening was usually the best for dealing with his demonic kid.

That's what I've been saying. Arc thought bitterly. Well, hopefully Cameron would listen now. "Get your things." He mumbled to Cameron, hoping he'd comply and grab whatever it was they'd come here for. There had to be something right? A weapon, a keepsake, something? He hadn't just dragged all of them here to say hello to his dad? What was the point of that even?

"We're leaving already?" he asked in disbelief, a flash of hurt coming to his eyes before disappearing once more. They'd just got there! They couldn't be leaving now, could they? They could stay there a couple more minutes right?? Head and wings lowering, he let out a sigh and made his way to his room, sounds of him rummaging around could be heard from the front door. Coming back out, he had a small little sack on his back, looking upset and saddened now instead of his usual cheery self. He'd wanted to see his dad a bit more, and make sure that he was doing okay since the incident that landed Cameron in jail in the first place. Getting ready to say "let's go" he didn't get a chance too as the sound of multiple doors closing outside the home could be heard and he looked up with a confused gaze. "What the?" making his way over towards the window, he peeked out of the blinds before letting out a growl. "It's the freaking police," he muttered, letting the blind fall close and he walked back over to the other two. "And like, I dunno, it looks like maybe the SWAT team too."

That especially angry look returned to Arc's face yet again, though a bit redder this time. "I told you this is the first place they'd look! You're probably the only one of us with a family and traceable address! Does this building have roof access? Or any hidden exits?" He asked. He didn't care now about confusing Kris further and he now completely mimicked Cameron's appearance, if for anything to confuse the police a bit. "A secret door in a closet? Anything?" He continued to ask. There had to be a way to get around this many people or a place to wait them out.

Buck just stood there and listened to everyone chitchat back and forth. He simply kept one hand shoved in his pocket, the other cradling the rifle gently. He didn't care about much of this, it was just another stop. Besides, if this little man tried to turn them in, Buck could very easily just rip him apart. As more clothes were offered, he quickly began to peel off the jumpsuit. He was used to working fast for this part and pulled on the shirt as quickly as he could. He just hated being asked about the thin little dark lines that crisscrossed his chest. He could lie and say they were scars, but that was hard when they gave off a faint reddish glow. He just preferred to avoid discussing them altogether. Luckily, he was just large enough to get away with simply glaring down at people and getting them to back off. Once he'd pulled on his new clothes, he wadded up his jumpsuit into a small ball and wandered off, looking for someplace where he could set them on fire without setting off the smoke alarm. He settled on the bathtub. A moment of hard concentration later and his fingertips were glowing like hot coals and his jumpsuit had exploded into flames. He didn't get a chance to finish watching it burn as suddenly there was some rather frustrated yelling from the living room and he made his way back to find them panicking about the police. He immediately turned towards Cameron's dad, brow furrowed, "You do this, old man?"

Poor Kris was not ready for something like this as he made his way back over to the group, looking utterly confused when there were now two of his sons and then suddenly he was being questioned by the scarier of the three. "No, I swear. Why would I call the police on my own son?" he pointed out,"let alone whatever friends he brings home. I could care less that you three broke out of jail! I'm just relieved that my son is alright!" he answered before inhaling slowly. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have raised my voice," he murmured before shaking his head,"there is no...secret exits or anything like that, not that I'm aware of," he admitted. Cameron let out an irritated growl, not one to enjoy all this commotion as it just tended to irritate him. "UGH," he dragged his fingers down his cheeks before looking around,"calm down! If you just calm down I can get us a distraction okay?" he insisted.

"Right, your tree-rats." Arc sighed, covering his face with one hand. "I really hope your faith in them doesn't disappoint. Because I don't think they care to bring us back breathing considering we've kind of proven they can't contain us." Now that Buck was back, at least they had a proper headcount. Leaving even one of the two behind was a liability for getting ratted out, and considering one of them had already proven they couldn't keep secrets, he didn't care to have such a heavy risk over his head.

Buck looked towards Cameron, hand paused in midair as he still wasn't entirely convinced he shouldn't murder this man. He then glanced over towards Arc. They needed a plan and Arc seemed like the cool, chill type. They were the type that were good at planning, or so he thought. Someone needed to make a decision now though, otherwise he was going to go out and see how many cops he could toss around before he got shot again.

"They are not rats," he insisted with a huff,"it won't! Stop doubting them okay, they're a lot tougher than people think. Geez. Well yeah, probably not I mean do you blame them?" He looked about the house before making his way to the back door, sliding it open and peeking out carefully. Oh good, they hadn't made it back here yet. "Psst, hey, hey you. Yeah, go get Nutters and tell him that he needs to gather everyone up at the house and keep the cops off our backs so we can escape alright?" He told a nearby squirrel, watching as it scurried off and he walked proudly back to the group. "They should be here in a bit, and then you'll see that they're cooler than you're giving them credit for and then you'll owe me an apology for doubting." Upon seeing Buck's hand raised, he looked at it, at his dad, and then at Buck again,"I don't recommend hitting my dad," he told him with a chilling smile. Because the last person that laid hands on his dad ended up dead and unable to be identified until police found his teeth. And while he knew that he wasn't a match for Buck, heck he was pretty sure the bigger demon could easily rip him in two, that didn't mean he wouldn't go down without a fight. "Besides, this isn't his fault. He's not like other humans okay, so just chill."

"If your rodents are so great, employ them, because we have literally no other option than to overrun them with hairballs and book it out the back. Actually..." He paused before moving toward the nearest back window he could see. He wanted to see if there were any police looming behind the house. It seemed like a strange thing to leave one side of a house completely unguarded. He separated the blinds carefully, blinking against the outside light. "I don't think I see anyone... We could scale your neighbor's fence and just keep fence-hopping down to the end of the row and nab some soccer mom's minivan."

Buck slowly lowered his hand, though he gave Cameron a warning look, "If you're wrong, I'll beat him to death with your foot." Lifting the rifle to the ready, he followed Arc towards the back and slipped out the door. Moving fairly quietly, he made his way to the corner and carefully tilted his head around to glance towards the street. He didn't see anyone moving this way and waved Arc forwards. If they hopped the fence now, they'd be in the clear.
