next week I'm finally going to have to get behind the wheel of a car and drive for the total of 6 hours over the course of 3 days with an instructor so I can get my learner's permit, after the long process it took to even get to this point (bc my state SUCKS lmao).
but those 6 hours DON'T INCLUDE the OTHER 6 hours I'll be in the same car, while ANOTHER student, who I have never met and who doesn't have any more experience than me behind the wheel of a car, tries to get her own permit.
the reason we have to sit through each other's sessions is bc in my state they don't allow us to be alone with instructors in the car so they put two teens of the same gender in the same car, so each one takes turns for two hours doing their own driving session while the other has to wait in the back seat.
as if it wasn't bad enough that I'm going to have to do all this driving, including going out onto the interstate without having ever, hypothetically, gotten behind the wheel before, I will have to do it with another stranger in the car, as well as sit through them doing the same thing.
(I'm saying hypothetically bc even though it's against the rules for your own parents to teach you anything about driving/you can't get behind the wheel at all before the 6 hour session to get your permit, my mom has been teaching me some things bc she said she ain't sending me out there without NO clue about what to do.)
anyways, so yeah. I know it's very unlikely that anything bad is going to happen, it's just the idea of it all.

Best luck!
I always hated driving hours:/ it was so scary when others were in the car driving- like I did not trust them at all! And one time, we nearly got in an accident so there was that (not to scare you at all- the system just makes no sense though) We had to do similar- we had to be in the car observing others (either gender) and driving We needed like 40 hrs of driving and then like half that of observing. And this was all after you had the permit and completed the driving school and took that test as well xD Such a process lol We were allowed to drive with out parents once we had our permits though so some of us had practice before getting in the instructors car

Don't be nervous, you'll be fine. It's much easier than you think, the most important thing is keeping an eye out for other cars.
