Kid // Junk Room // tinybreeze"Yes, quite often," said Kid. He was decently sure that Ammy had seen cars in the House's other rooms, but quite possibly not this damaged. It was also highly possible that there was a lot more going on at the time in any given room. There probably was more to this place than just random piles of stuff, but for the time being that was all that was visible for as long as the eye could see. Unless you counted back the way they had come, in which case there wasn't a lot for the eye to see at all. Just a junk yard in the middle of nowhere. So what was this place? And why did it seem like it repeated? Kid frowned. "We might be," he admitted. "But that's also assuming we had a destination to begin with. Getting out always seems to be the goal, but at least sometimes there are little hints about this place. Huh." He turned on the spot, looking around. Then pointed toward a top of a pile. "Up?" he suggested. "Getting a hire view?" It did not look steady enough of a pile to climb, but hey ... worth a try ... maybe. |

Amaterasu | Junk Room | mintedstar/fur🦇 "Nowhere to go but up, I suppose. Or down. But up is easier!" Ammy replied. Despite being a wolf, scaling high places wasn't too hard for her. She took a running start then began hopping up from foothold to foothold on the pile. A few pieces tumbled down as she ascended but, aside from some shaking once she landed on the top, the pile stubbornly held strong. Up here, she could see the room more clearly.
The room was both massive and small - a description that anyone's brain struggled to comprehend, yet it was the best explanation there was. It was like staring at an optical illusion. There was part of the room that tricked her mind into thinking it was a sea of endless junk, but from up here, she could tell that the only section of the room that was actually present was the section they kept repeatedly crossing through.
"Huh. It's smaller than it looks." That was the only conclusion her thoroughly confused mind could come up with. "At least we're technically not lost...?"

(School and work is stealing me. ;-; ) Kid // Junk Room // tinybreezeKid remained on the ground, looking up at Ammy and trying to work out where she was looking at. In this case, he was trying to work out where she was looking. What did she mean, they weren't lost? They'd been walking in circles for ages? "Where should we be going?" he asked. He had no idea if this was somehow a way to tell where to go. Would they have to climb just to work out where they were going? "Are we in a maze?" he asked. That seemed like a possible option. |

(oof, I feel that) Amaterasu | Junk Room | mintedstar/fur🦇 "Not a maze... More like... Whenever we get far enough we just get teleported to the opposite side with minor changes? That's what I think might be going on," she guessed. She leapt down more gracefully than she'd climbed - a long leap only slowed by a second midair hop, landing easily despite the height. She rubbed a paw against the round to brush off some rust.
"There might be something in this area that'll be useful? Like, maybe hidden among the junk, or even buried underground?" Ammy suggested. There were a lot of oddities that changed with each "loop" but the area seemed fairly consistent overall.

Kid // Junk Room // tinybreezeKid had to consider that for a second and tilted his head. Then he breathed out and said, "So ... should we try and interrupt the looping? Or should we try and find out why it's looping?" It was hard to work out how to classify this room. There was every possibility that this was a puzzle in some way, yet just as much of a possibility that there was some way to muscle the way through this location. Since it was just him and Ammy, at least for now, there was a limited amount of things that they could do as well. It wasn't like Kid had fire-setting abilities, for example. "Should we look for any puzzles? Or should we try to travel through a loop in a different way?" He was looking for other options just as much as he was for answers. |

There was certainly a lot of trash around. A wheel was still rolling from when she'd dislodged it from the pile.
It was a little puzzle room, perhaps? She began to sniff around. She could see a tattered stuffed toy (that she REALLY wanted to grab and shake) on top of some splintered wood. What was...
"Oh, this looks like a couch from the living room!" She pointed her paw at the wrecked furniture. It wasn't as invincible as the actual living room couch, clearly, but the design was alike.

Kid // Junk Room // tinybreezeKid's eyebrows rose. It did look like the living room couch, didn't it. He wondered if that meant anything. It could just be the House though. Messing with them. "It does," he said slowly. "Though I suppose I'd be more concerned if more of the furnature turned up." He might be more concerned if this junk room was more than just a junk room. He was getting a sneaking worry that maybe the stuff around them were remnants from rooms. That felt scary. That felt wrong. "Maybe look for one of the chairs?" he suggested, since if this was literally the couch and not just like it, there might be more than met the eye. |

"It's as if the House itself is being discarded here..." And what if another room's items were here, too? That would explain why there were random bits that didn't fit in with a typical junkyard, such as those snacks she'd smelled. Or it could just be this room being weird. Ammy started circling one of the piles.
"Wonder if there's a door? Haven't seen any discarded doors so far."

I am tired and I am struggling but slowly recognizing that just grinding and grinding does not, in fact, remove the load and I'm tired of cutting things I like and use as an escape if favor of trying to lighten the load of my adult life. Can't, won't, tired of it. Wanna RP again. )

Myrnin blinked in, waiting for a second before he started moving around. His limbs felt stiff, but he found himself slowly stretching out that feeling, his jaw stretching as he yawned.
Yep. Still the living room. He glanced around, then slowly started walking toward the hallway doors, exiting the living room. He didn't bother picking the first door. That was too easy. He just kept walking forward, slowly stepping ahead to measure the distance with his footsteps between doors. Counting under his breath, he started turning corners, til he eventually paused. Approached a door. Turned the handle and stepped inside.
There was a distinct smell when he did. Of woodsmoke and trees. That would be explained by, you know, the trees. The woodsmoke though? He paused. The forest opened up as he searched for it, eventually coming to a little camp fire.
Huh. Well, nothing was happening yet, but that didn't mean anything.

He'd remained here a little, but generally found himself looking up at the sky instead. There was a lot to think about. Mostly things back in his world, but his mind kept turning back to the forest as well. Strains of music started to sound every now and again, but he hadn't tried to follow them. Mostly because they seemed to come from everywhere at once and he was reminded of fairy stories from his childhood. As he'd been sitting here, he'd been trying to remember those stories ... |

{Hey Mint!! Yeah, being an adult can be such a pain at times ;v; i definitely feel that.}
The peacefulness of the room vanished when a rather sloppily dressed silver haired man blinked in, a spoon in one hand and a chocolate parfait in the other. He scooped a bit of ice cream, and when the spoon entered his mouth, a delighted, wide grin formed on his lips.
Nothing could beat a delicious parfait after painting buildings on a hot day with a pair of annoying brats and a dog. Well, except for maybe a bottle of sake. Anyways, he was certainly going to enjoy the peace and quiet he rightfully deserves and––wait, why was his precious parfait melting? Why did it smell like trees all of the sudden? No...why was there nothing BUT trees?! And where did that random guy come from?!
"Oi, oi, oi...did that waitress put something in my parfait?" He questioned and stared down at the half-eaten dessert. Crap, what if this was a hallucination caused by all the sugar he has consumed over the years?! Is this what his doctor meant by "consequences"?!
"Is...is this what diabetes looks like?!"

"Uh?" Myrnin said, shaken out of his revelry in memory and he looked at the new guy with abject shock.
"Who the heck are you?" he asked. Then looked him up and down.
"Have you had some terrible shock in your life to turn your hair white and melt your brain?" He seemed quite curious about the answer.
"And to my knowledge, the House is not a form which diabetes takes, but I could be wrong. It is a very strange place."
The music he could hear before this blinker had arrived was gone. Very strange indeed. As if his white hair and loud manner had scared it off. He found himself a bit disappointed by that. Truly, what a loud man.
Still, the fire was warm and his strange sugary treat was melted and the forest did not seem to care.
To think all this existed behind a door.
"You're new then. To the House, not diabetes. I'm Myrnin. Who are you, white haired screamer?"

"I could ask you the same." The man grumbled, and ran a frustrated hand through his unruly curls. "Seriously, what kind of guy hangs around in a forest all alone? That reeks of––hey, what did you just say?" An insulted gasp fell from the samurai's lips, and he placed a hand on his chest. For a second, he was real tempted to dunk his parfait over Myrnin's head, but...alas, his parfait deserved better than that. Plus, it would be a waste of ¥1350; it wasn't easy making money in this economy for crying out loud!
"Yeah, seeing your ugly mug was enough to fry my brain," He retorted before pointing wildly at his own head. "Look! Gin-san's hair is all natural! I'm not some kind of wannabe high school delinquent who dyed hair to look cool. It's a lot better than having brown hair like some generic NPC you find at the dollar store!" Huffing and puffing, he ate another spoonful of his parfait, which was now a melting, sad-looking goo.
I want a refund, dammit.
"The...House? Uh, is that code for something?" Crimson eyes lingered on Myrnin. "Cuz, uh, maybe all the smoke from the campfire is starting to get to you, because we're outside. There isn't a house in sight!"

Myrnin couldn't help smiling at the slap-back. It was quite a good one, but the look of this dude still made him quite sad. A sad man with a sad, sweet treat.
"Perhaps no doors or walls you can see, my friend. But the House is more a title of a location than an actual architectural rule."
He indicated the fire.
"Also, I didn't light this. It was here when I blinked in."
He waited patiently for the inevitable question - for less than a second. Too impatient, just explained it.
"Blinking is when you appear from your world here. And visa versa. Now, do you want to explore the room or get bogged down by technicalities? Your sweet is ruined anyway. At least, I assume it is sweet. Was sweet. My suggestion would be to feed it to a bear or some such so it will be distracted enough to not eat you."
Said like someone who expected a bear to appear and try to eat them. Or something.

Gintoki’s dead fish eyes were fixed on Myrnin as he babbled on about the House. He scratched his chin, deep in thought. “So, what you’re basically saying is I got isekai’d to this place. Great. God, it’s too early in the week to deal with this kind of crap.” The samurai whined. Myrnin’s words did not help matters either, and a pout almost formed on his lips. Of all people he could be stranded with…why did it have to be such an irritating guy? Why not some cutie?!
“Tch. As if I’d give up my parfait to a bear. I worked my butt off to earn this treat!” He insisted, folding his arms over his chest. “And everyone knows you’re supposed to play dead when you encounter a bear, not feed it.”

"Isekai’d?" Myrnin questioned. Now it was someone else using the strange words. That felt a bit unfair. He was the one who was supposed to be explaining things, not the other way around. What an annoying shift of roles.
He seemed to be growing the same opinion of Gintoki as Gintoki was of him. Minus the cutie part.
"Your parfait is ... going to see better days when it's digested, as it isn't seeing a good time now," Myrnin pointed out. "But if you enjoy eating terrible, tortured food. Some people like that, I suppose."
His eyebrows rose a bit.
"I haven't tried playing dead in the House yet. Maybe that's worth a try. I mean, nothing much different has happened when I've actually died, but it's a thought."

"You know, that dumb 'teleported to another world' trope all those manga authors are into these days?" Gintoki explained with an exaggerated sigh and the shake of his head. "Real disappointing. The manga industry has seriously gone downhill." With that, he lifted his glass and gulped down the melted remains of his parfait, not bothered by the bits of ice cream dribbling down his chin.
"'Terrible'? Tch. Of course a guy like you wouldn't understand good cuisine, even if it landed on your face. This parfait is one of a kind, a delicious––um, what?"
His eyes bulged when Myrnin just so casually brought up something about actually dying. He stared at the man, expecting some kind of punchline. It never came.
"......ah, okay. I must've misheard you. I mean, there's no way you could be dead and then come back to life, unless...u-unless..."
The color drained from Gintoki's face; was the man he was talking to...a...gh*st?
Say sike right now, dammit!
