Before we jump into the specific restrictions, allow it to be clearly stated that rules may be changed at any time and the admins of this role-play have the right to do so. Of course, it will be discussed, but if there must be an addition, change, or removal, it is not negotiable. We apologize if you do not like it, but we will run the role-play how we feel is suitable and make proper changes to improve the quality. We must also make it clear that if you have not read the rules nor the history or territory, you are stepping off on the wrong foot with us. The information has been arranged the way it has to help make it easier to understand. The work put in should not be ignored and anyone who blatantly ignores it will be directed back to it so they may read it. If you respect us, we will respect you. That brings another important point: respect and courtesy. No one should feel uncomfortable or attacked. If you differ with someone on an opinion, do not attack them for it here, please. If anything in this role-play makes you feel uncomfortable, it is advised you do not join. Allow us to explain one thing: staff are held at a different standard than regular members. If you are a staff member, it is highly advised you read the staff rules to ensure you are following the activity rules. These section is for "regular" members, as it will be far less confusing. Regular members, save for those with a high position, will need to be on at the minimum of four days a week. This may sound a bit strict, but due to the size of the role-play, we must enforce stricter guidelines to ensure our success. The admins and staff attempt to provide the best experience possible and with the absence of members, that experience can not be provided. Admins and their staff will keep a close eye on activity. Every two weeks, there will be a check for inactive members. Obviously there will be consequences for breaking the rule and obviously we will have members who do break those rules. It is unfortunate, but we will still not tolerate it when it happens. Background, relations to other members, and other factors will not and should not influence someone to think that they can become inactive and not pay some kind of price. However, noted hiatuses are acceptable. What is a noted hiatus? Well, if a member knows they will be absent for a week, then they can alert a staff member about their expected absence and will not face any negative consequences for their absence. We kindly ask you do alert us if you are expected to be gone. If you can no longer be a member, it is best to let us know instead of going inactive and possibly create a sour relationship with one or more of the staff members. Of course, we can understand being in a rush one day, but if you can role-play in another role-play, you should at least be able to make a role-play post to move things. We will not allow "greeting" posts to count towards you being on the role-play. Unfortunately, this section will be the longest and hold many rules and regulations. We have organized it into smaller sections, but due to their relation to role-playing, they will be under this section. Again, before we jump into another batch of rules, let us go over the basics that everyone should know and should not do. Power-playing is basically taking a character you do not own and controlling them to do certain deeds and actions. While we have very few exceptions to this rule, it is still frowned upon and may result in a negative consequence. We kindly ask you refrain from doing this and if you feel you are, simply asking should not hurt. In fact, it may be better to check instead of doing whatever. Another issue that can have a few exceptions is spotlighting. The attention of the members and characters should vary depending on the location, time, and importance of what is being role-played. Depending on the "plot" depends on what should take more attention. There will be more discussion about plots, but be sure to be aware of when you should have the spotlight on your character and when you should not. The third common role-playing issue is god-modding. While Warriors has been known to be unrealistic at times and even break their own rules, it will not be allowed here. There have been measures taken to ensure god-modding does not happen in certain cases and during moments when god-modding can be more common, a watchful eye will be present. Finally, the fourth and final big issue: meta-gaming. Meta-gaming typically refers to a character knowing something they should not in canon. An example would be two characters entering a forbidden romance and then a third character randomly knowing about that relationship. If it is not role-played out and with the two giving permission, they can not know about the relationship. How about we move on and get to a part many despise reading. There is a lot of controversy about literacy and role-playing. On the old forums, there were typically four categories a role-play was in. However, we have decided to not exactly label ourselves. Instead, we simply ask for proper spelling and grammar as well as at least five sentences per post. Any less appears as if someone does not care and will not try. Given that the typical paragraph for children is five paragraphs, we are not asking much. You are invited to write more, but be cautious of "fluff." Filler makes the post difficult to read in terms sorting important information out from simple filler. Realism is quite important in this role-play. While the admins and staff will make sure everyone is following basic logic, we feel it should be touched upon that a patrol of three cats cannot properly take on a grown badger without serious injury and in a matter of seconds. In the Warriors universe, there are certain things that can and can not happen, so please abide by those rules and our rules. Now, general role-play rules play along with realism. It is too coincidental when your character gets all of the spotlight, so please do not do that. There will be moments when your character’s plot or spot in the limelight will take front and center. God-modding and meta-gaming are a no go for us, so do not even think about it. Please keep in mind that cats do die. To combat the chance of someone taking the liberty to have all of their cats die or live through a major event, the admins of the Clans will have what is called "chance charts." Depending on the situation, these can have an impact on the Clan or just a few characters. They will be on the discussion page, and will only be used when the situation calls. If you are not comfortable with the chance of your character dying, then please refrain from joining. When you join, please keep in the mind of the characteristics, rules, and any information pertaining to your character. We advise you to not use "handsome" or "beautiful" when describing your character. Why? Well, that is kind of going into god-modding territory. Do not apply for deputy, as leaders will decide on their deputy. Please properly use our form, coding and all. LBGTQ+ characters are welcomed here. Anyone who is against this or tries to argue against this can kindly leave. As for queens and kits, we kindly ask their be a father for the kits. You may ask one of the members if they would like to have a cat father the kits. The two cats do not necessarily have to be mates, either. As for single kits, please do not join with them. We would much rather have room for kits who are born in the Clan over having an overload of orphan kits. While we will also allow permanent queens, we ask you develop them. Regarding relationships, none of the admins mind two different people having their characters join as mates, or a character having a crush on another. As for having two characters being mates and owning them, the two characters must be retired. We also encourage joining and having a character related to others if the member allows it. In the Clans, there will be available spots, so please fill free. We will restrict the amount of outsiders, half-Clan cats, and outside cats who join the Clans. Please keep in mind any cat who is not a full Clan cat or has mixed blood will probably be discriminated against. When it comes to genetics, please be as accurate as you can. The admins either have a chart, a generator, or a basic idea of how genetics may work, so please don't try to pull the wool over our eyes. Any outsiders will be limited in number and restricted to an area. The admins will decide on the number and the outsider will need to remain in a Clan area. They cannot and will not remain in the territory, undiscovered for a long time. They must have a purpose. Now, an important note to make would be that characters cannot be made for the simple purpose of finding a mate. They need to have something besides that to keep them going. Something that can help develop them. At the same time, they also should not be made for the simple purpose of plot. For every warrior that is made, one apprentice may be made. Keep in mind, the maximum amount of apprentices is ten per Clan. While we do ask genders be kept somewhat even, it will be up to the admins to moderate this for their Clans, as every Clan may vary in characters. We will be limiting prefixes to two per Clan, however the cat must be an elder for the prefix to be used again in the same Clan. Allow us to explain. If there is an elder in ShadowClan named Cedarpelt, then there may be a Cedarkit or a Cedarpaw. We will have banned prefixes and suffixes. To check and see which are banned, please refer to the prefix list on the joining page. The admins and staff of this role-play should be cracking down on poor behavior and general laziness. If a member violates a rule for the first time, they will be issued a warning. Two warnings will equal a star. A star is not something you would want to receive, as you may only have five stars before being deleted. You may rejoin once and will automatically start on the second star. Now, when a member gets to the second star, they cannot not "attend" the Gathering and their characters must remain in camp for two days. For the third star, their apprentices could have an additional training session added on before they become a warrior. If they do not have an apprentice but have a warrior acting as a mentor, their apprentice will be assigned a new mentor for a week and that cat will be sick or under punishment for something. If the member happens to have both, admin may decide on which approach to take. When a fourth star is issued, it will result in previous punishments from before and a week's suspension from that Clan. Now, if they have joined two Clans, the two admins can discuss if this will impact both Clans or just the one. If they show a better attitude in the other Clan, it will only be in the Clan they're not doing so well with. Finally, the fifth star will result in deletion. If a member does rejoin, then they cannot have any special plots, positions, or even apprentices until two weeks in. If the member vastly improves past those two weeks, then the admin can discuss the possibility of cleaning the slate for the member.

All staff must be on at least six days a week. You are allowed to be "just checking" your pages, but if you role-play somewhere, you also need to role-play here. Life can get in the way, but if you have time to role-play at another place, you can make a short post here. A simple greeting will not suffice, meaning it needs to be something kind of important. As for legitimately role-playing, you need to at least five days a week. A Clan cannot and will not survive if an admin is inactive. If you feel that you can no longer run your Clan, please tell the other admins. We will begin to discuss our options. Admins that step down will be offered a mod position if they like. However, this may be turned down. Secondary leaders also serve another purpose. They are to monitor the work of the admin they have been assigned to and make sure they are upholding the rules and doing what they are meant to do. If the admin is caught doing something they should not be doing, a penalty will be issued. Before anyone questions this, it will be delivered in the private chat for the staff. Evidence must also be provided. It will be discussed and if the admin being issued the penalty is innocent, as something may have been missed, then the penalty will be taken away. The first penalty is a warning. The second results in temporary loss of their administrative rights except for updating the page. Their leader character will lose a life and fall ill or injured and be unable to do their duties. The secondary leader and the staff of that Clan will handle the administrative rights and the deputy will perform the leader's duties. The third penalty results in the demotion of the admin to a regular member and the page will be remade. Their leader character will retire or step down and the deputy will become leader. Five strikes equal a penalty unless it is a severe case. To prevent issues constantly coming up, the admin and their secondary leader will meet twice a week and discuss issues with the Clan. Strikes may be discussed here. Admins and staff are restricted in the roles they may take. If an admin chooses to have the leader position in their Clan, they can not take the deputy, medicine cat, or the medicine cat position. However, they may take those positions in the other Clans if the admin of that Clan permits. Deputies will be chosen by the admin. While regular members do have the chance to be deputy, they will not always be promoted to mod status because their character is deputy. Mods and trusted members will be looked at first for the position. There will be a rotation for deputy in place, but if all of the admins give their permission, an admin may not have to do this with their Clan. The rotation is simple, if an admin has a leader that dies and the deputy becomes leader, a character belonging to the admin will be deputy. Medicine cats and their apprentices will not be chosen. However, the medicine cat must be alright with getting an apprentice. As for plots, admins will be doing something called "Chance Charts." These are to help push a plot forward and cause conflict within the Clan, as well as create a sense of realism. Admins must be fair with these. If there is a member you do not like, you cannot rig the chances against them. You also cannot rig the chances to where the majority of your characters live or the majority of them die.

Under "Literacy" >"Given that the typical paragraph for children is five paragraphs sentences, we are not asking much." Under Characters >"In the Clans, there will be available spots, so please fill feel free."
There were some errors, so I decided I would help out. I didn't see any other errors, but I could have easily missed some. Other than those little mistakes, I think they look good! Under the "Staff Rules", however, the way you worded almost all of the different rules was a bit confusing. Though I believe it would be okay, considering we already know 99% of the information needed.

I tend to get a bit carried away. o3o' As for introductions, do we want to do them? When I first opened this, I planned to do new layouts, but Sand suggested that I just use recent ones and hope it doesn't offend someone. (Not my place to explain.) So, those are pretty much ready to go despite some minor edits I'm doing to update them. This also makes me wonder if we should use the same forms?

Good morning/afternoon guys! Thank you for the warm welcomes ^^ Bear at your service *salute*
The general rules are a bit long, just in my opinion. Long patches of text tend to drive people away, but hey maybe that's your game?
Is there something you'd like for me to do? I could paraphrase those longer rules for you to make them a little less intimidating on the eyes - if you want.

Did someone say league of lergends? I'm a support main! Maining Rakan right now. I have almost 200k mastery points on Morgana though. And don't even get me started on the trash community. I take things to heart too much so I have to have all chat disabled or I'll cry. xD
Ahem, anyway, I, too, believe the rules might be a bit hard to swallow for people that are joining. They'd be very intimidating and possibly deter people. On the other hand, however, I like how thorough they are.

I'm trying to be a jungle main. :3 Warwick is the champion I'm best with, but I also play Poppy there as well.
Yeah, it's definitely time for them to be condensed. We can always put a disclaimer that if someone wants an elaboration, we can give it. I was about to suggest we could also say that they are a condensed version, but then we'd have to link to the original rules and it's just best we not. Besides, some things should be common sense.

So I'm on mobile, and looked to me like it was still a lot of text. I took the liberty of spacing it out a bit, so you can see if you like that better or if you'd rather have it all in one block of text. I didn't want to take away from it too much but I did go through word for word and made some changes/fixes in wording, grammar, sentence structure. I also deleted/added stuff that I felt was unnecessary/necessary in getting the point across. If you like my edits I can move on to doing the same with the staff rules. Before we jump into the specific restrictions, allow it to be clearly stated that it is within the admins' rights to change rules at any time. Any additions, changes, or removals will be discussed beforehand, but once a decision is made it's non-negotiable. Our objective in making these changes is to improve the quality of the roleplay, not to take away from it. We must also make it clear that if you have not read all of the rules and other provided information, you aren't off to a great start here. Anyone who blatantly ignores the important sections will be directed back to read them. If you respect us, we will respect you. So please respect all the work that's been put in by taking a moment to read everything. That brings another important point: respect and courtesy. No one should feel uncomfortable or attacked here. If you differ with someone on an opinion, do not attack them for it. If anything about this role-play makes you feel uncomfortable, it is advised you do not join. It's important to note that staff are held at a different standard than regular members. If you are a staff member, it is vital that you read the staff rules to ensure you are following the activity rules. These activity rules are for non-staff members, to avoid confusion. Regular members without high positions will need to be on a minimum of four days a week. OOC chat and popping in to say hi don't count towards activity. This may sound a bit strict but due to the size of the role-play, we must encourage activity in our members to ensure success. The admins and staff attempt to provide the best experience possible and in the absence of members, the very heart of any role-play, that experience can't be provided. Admins and staff will keep a close eye on activity. Every two weeks, there will be a check for inactive members. Just like any rule, there will be consequences for breaking this one. We will not overlook it when it happens. Background, relations to other members, and other factors are no reason for anyone to become inactive. However, noted hiatuses are acceptable. If a member knows they will be absent for a certain amount of time, then they can alert a staff member about their expected absence and will not face any negative consequences for it. We kindly ask that you do alert us if you know you're going to be gone. If you can no longer be a member, let us know instead of going inactive and leaving us wondering. Of course, we can understand being in a rush one day, but if you can post on another role-play, you should at least be able to make a post here to move things along. This section will be the longest and hold many rules and regulations. Before we jump into another batch of rules, let's go over the basics that everyone needs to know. Power-playing is basically taking a character you do not own and controlling them to do certain deeds and actions, esp. to benefit your character(s). While we have very few exceptions to this rule, it is not allowed and may result in a negative consequence. We kindly ask you refrain from doing this and if you feel you are, simply asking should not hurt. Another issue that can have a few exceptions is spotlighting. The attention of the members and characters should vary depending on the plot point, location, time, and the importance of what is going on at the time. Be aware of when you should have the spotlight on your character and when you should not. The third common role-playing issue is god-modding. While the Warriors series itself has been known to be unrealistic at times and even break their own rules, any cases of god-modding will not be allowed here. There have been measures taken to ensure god-modding does not happen and during moments when god-modding can easily occur, a watchful eye will be present. Finally, the fourth and final big issue: meta-gaming. Meta-gaming typically refers to a character knowing something they should not in canon. An example would be two characters entering a forbidden romance and then a third character randomly knowing about that relationship. If it is not role-played or discussed between everyone involved, they can't possibly know. There is a lot of controversy about literacy and role-playing. There are typically four categories a role-play is put in. However, we have decided not to label it. We simply ask for proper spelling and grammar, as well as at least five sentences per post. Given that the typical paragraph for children is five sentences, we are not asking much. You are invited to write more, but be cautious of "fluff." Filler can make posts difficult to read. Realism is important here. While the admins and staff will make sure everyone is following basic logic, we feel it should be touched upon that a patrol of three cats cannot take on a grown badger without serious injury in two seconds. In the Warriors universe, there are certain things that can and can not happen, so please abide by those rules and our rules. General role-play rules play along with realism. Don't make your characters the constant center of attention. There will be moments when your character’s plot or spot in the limelight will take front and center. God-modding and meta-gaming are a no go for us, so do not even think about it. Please keep in mind that cats do die, especially in the wild. In fact the domestic cat's lifespan is halved when they are feral. To combat the chance of someone taking the liberty to have all of their cats die at one time or live through something they shouldn't have, the admins will have what is called "chance charts." Depending on the situation, these can have an impact on the whole Clan or only a few characters. The charts will be on the discussion page, and will be used when the situation calls. If you are not comfortable with the chance of your character dying, then please refrain from joining. When you join, please keep in mind Clan characteristics, rules, and any information that would impact your character. Do not use adjectives such as "handsome" or "beautiful" when describing your character. It's a form of god-modding because it's biased. Not everyone will find them attractive. Do not apply for deputy; leaders will decide their deputy. Please use our form properly, coding and all. LBGTQ+ characters are welcomed here. Anyone who is against this or tries to argue against this can kindly leave. As for queens and kits, there must be a father for the kits. You may ask one of the members if they would like to have a cat father the kits. The two cats do not necessarily have to be mates, either. Please do not join with orphaned kits. We would much rather have room for kits who are born in the Clan than an overload of orphans. While we will also allow permanent queens, we ask that you develop them. In the Clans, there will be available spots, so please feel free. We will restrict the amount of outsiders, half-Clan cats, and outsiders that join the Clans. The admins will decide on the number and the outsider will need to remain in a Clan area. They cannot and will not remain undiscovered in the territory for a long time. They must have a purpose. Now, an important note to make would be that characters can't be made for the simple purpose of finding a mate. They need to have something besides that to motivate them; something that will develop their character. They should not be made for the simple purpose of moving a plot along either. For every warrior that is made, one apprentice may be made. Keep in mind, the maximum amount of apprentices is ten per Clan. Hmmm... Looking at them now, all spaced out, the Character & Joining section could be its own set of rules for the joining page, or just separate from the rest of them.
I'm just trying to think of ways to make it easier to read without taking away from it. We could number them... Idk, Ive been staring at em for two hours. What do you guys think?

I think it would be best if one of us roleplays Apple since we know the plot well. Unless, we have a trusted member / helper roleplay her.
edit ;; thanks, mobile for not updating the thread ;(
I'm personally fine with the rules being shorter and spaced out, but then again, if it's all together and organized it does look better.

Agreed. One of us (helpers included) would need to have her. I can see someone easily going off track and just taking it out of proportion. Regarding rules, I agree that they should be together. I also feel that if we don't have the rules altogether, the character section won't be read and ignored. I've had issues with people not reading them in the first place because they simply didn't care and then wanted to argue about it. I also think we all should read them and see if we can condense it more in terms of what is common sense and what should be listed. One change I'd like to make is prefixes. The allowance of two prefixes was a majority vote in the role-play where those rules were used. I wasn't particularly fond of it, as I felt it limited creativity and offered a chance for confusion. I think once a prefix is in use, it cannot be used again until the cat is dead or they no longer exist in the role-play. Thoughts?

I think I agree with poet here, although I'm good with 1 or 2 prefix uses only. It definitely inspires creativity as long as people don't get too wild (like names of animals and plants not native to the region, twoleg items, or mythological beasts)
Do we have someone in mind to play Apple already?

So technically three are good with the rule change to one prefix per Clan. As for Apple, not yet.

I would be perfectly willing to play Apple if there are no other candidates. Just throwing my name out there. ^^

I also side with Dou on the prefix thing; one per a clan makes the most sense.

I'm fine with you being a candidate for Apple, Eris. In my personal opinion, I don't think one of the admins should be Apple because we're already running the Clans and will have high ranks, I think we should have others take some important/plot positions before we do. That is unless it involves our deputy/leader characters. We should also discuss a reason as to why deputies and leaders are dying left and right because it makes it a bit weird if they just randomly die to random things despite the plot going, as it can only cover so many deaths before it becomes.. awkward.
